This touching and hilarious memoir is 100 percent Carol Burnett — funny, irreverent, and irresistible.Carol Burnett is one of the most beloved and revered actresses and performers in America. The Carol Burnett Show was seen each week by millions of adoring fans and won twenty-five Emmys in its remarkable eleven-year run. Now, in This Time Together, Carol really lets her hair down and tells one … lets her hair down and tells one funny or touching or memorable story after another.
In engaging anecdotes, Carol discusses her remarkable friendships with stars such at Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Cary Grant, and Julie Andrews; the background behind famous scenes, like the moment she swept down the stairs in her curtain-rod dress in the legendary “Went With the Wind” skit; and things that would happen only to Carol–the prank with Julie Andrews that went wrong in front of the First Lady; the famous Tarzan Yell that saved her during a mugging; and the time she faked a wooden leg to get served in a famous ice cream emporium.
This poignant look back allows us to cry with the actress during her sorrows, rejoice in her successes, and finally, always, to laugh.

I found it interesting because I have been a fan of Carol Burnett.
It is always great to gain insight into the life of an icon.
This very interesting book brought back many memories of the nights we watched the Carol Burnet Hour on TV. What fun we had laughing together and sharing all the wonderful and crazy happenings on th small screen. Thanks for the joy you brought to our lives.
Loved the book.
Enjoyable, easy reading
Always loved the Carol Burnett show so this book was a good look behind the scenes at the author’s life and some interesting facts about the show.
Loved reading about this funny lady whose show I still enjoy nightly on cable TV.
At times it was funny. But mostly it was “name dropping” and “what good friends they are”. Hmph.
Thoroughly delightful. Riding along with carol through her life was like reliving some of your best memories. Always warm and funny and forever in our hearts!
Very good and easy reading.
Carol Burnett is willing to open up her heart and soul in this wonderful memoir of her life. She admits to mistakes, shows great appreciation for colleagues and friends, gives credit to those who helped her along the way, and shares the pain of loss with raw reality. Ultimately though, Burnett writes with hope and love. You’ll laugh, you’ll …
Nostalgie
It was okay. I haven’t finished it. Its not a page turner and I had hoped for more humor in the book.
Wonderful read!
Great information on a comedic genius
It was fun to read Ms. Burnett’s experiences with her cast and other actors. Nothing on TV since her show left the air has been as funny, entertaining, and as well produced. This is not an expose, rather a walk down memory lane with people we welcomed into our homes once a week, and who had us in stitches time and again.
I really enjoyed reading his book. Carol Burnett has a good wit and wrote her story with humor and honesty. I grew up in the years she was coming up in tv and truly enjoyed watching her show and the camaraderie between her and her co-stars. I recommend this book.
Love reading about Carol Burnett!! I grew up watching her on tv at my Grandma’s house! Love her!!
It was as if Carol was sitting in the room with me, telling me stories.
I enjoyed learning about her in a different way
