Twenty-six-year-old Rose Devlin may shop in the plus-size department, but she’s never had a problem attracting men — with disastrous consequences. Recovering from her latest mistake, Rose has sworn off casual sex and moved to California to grow up, help her best friend, and make something of herself.
When Rose asks the cute-but-geeky guy next door to help her land a job in high tech, she never … she never expects to unearth his quiet strength, stunning accomplishments — and hidden talents. With a secret in her own past, Rose tries to keep her distance, but she finds that nerdy Mark isn’t so nerdy when the lights go out.
And that maybe, just maybe, she’s not too grown up to risk one more disaster…

An excellent book to pass your afternoon! Couldn’t stop reading!
I’m torn as to whether or not I liked this story. There were elements I enjoyed: the slow build between Rose and Mark, the dynamics of the Johnson family, the romance. And there were elements I didn’t care for: Rose’s friendship with Blair, John, the frequent comments about Rose’s weight/figure.
I applaud Gretchen for writing a romance novel with a plus-size female lead. And Rose is very comfortable in her skin, which is fantastic! But the continuous comments about her weight by everyone, even Mark, got to be a bit much. It pulled me out of the story.
I’d probably recommend this, but I prefer other books by Gretchen Galway!
Comedy and romance rolled into one!
Rose is big, beautiful, and curvy but her choice in men has resulted in bad relationships to the point that she has given up on men and is focused on helping her pregnant best friend. Blair’s loser boyfriend, who also happens to be Rose’s sleazy ex-boyfriend, abandoned Blair when he found out she was pregnant but his mother has given Blair and Rose a place to live in hopes of having her soon-to-be grandchild close by.
Mark can’t help noticing his new neighbors but his social skills are sadly lacking, especially around attractive women. He is more comfortable hiding in his mother’s house and developing software but when the curvy blonde next door needs help he can’t refuse.
I enjoyed the humor, dogs, and romance in this sweet story. This is the first novel I have read by Gretchen Galway but it certainly won’t be the last.
Not your normal romantic novel.
Lovely follow up to Love Handles..
Boring
Cute, light romance with a few good hearted chuckles.
It felt a little dragged out, but it was fun to read.
Really enjoyed this book.
Great book! Even though this is part of a series it stands alone and doesn’t skip over any character building.
What I like to call “brain candy” – a fun and sexy romantic comedy. Not too deep, but not too shallow and silly either.
This book was slow to get into. It was a fun story line, just rushed at the end and I feel could have had a longer story line at the end.
Fun
Light and feel good.
I just started reading books written from Gretchen Galaway and am on my third one. I really enjoy the characters and their imperfections. It makes them
More realistic.
Slow, stilted dialogue
I liked it so much I bought the whole series!
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It was fun, fresh and the characters were easy to love.
I enjoyed reading this funny story!
Love it, the way Rose stood by her friend even after she stole her boyfriend . Also the way she ended up with such a nice guy in the end. Could not stop reading this book ,
