He’s waited four months for this day … for his wife to wake up … for everything to go back to normal … a normal life she can’t remember … a life that might not have been as perfect as everyone thought …Deputy fire chief Oliver Wolfe had everything he ever wanted. A beautiful wife, two adorable (if rambunctious) sons, a job he loved, a comfortable home, and family and friends in his hometown of … friends in his hometown of St. Caroline, Maryland …
… until the day he has to stand by helplessly and watch his wife’s unconscious body get cut from the mangled wreckage of her car.
Serena Wolfe was a blissfully happy newlywed with a tall, dark, and handsome firefighter for a husband and a honeymoon baby on the way …
… until the day she wakes up from a coma to discover that she’s actually thirty years old and has two adorable (if rambunctious) boys, a house, and friends … none of which she can remember.
That’s alarming enough. But Serena might have had a secret former life … which she also can’t remember …

“This is the first book by this author I have read, but it will not be the last. The story draws you in and you want to become friends with the characters. It has been a long time since I have felt that way about a book I am reading. Serena and Ollie are very likeable and you are pulling for them throughout the story. Their love story is unlike most that you read about.” – Karen G.

First of, this is the first book that I have read my this author.
It’s an interesting story, the main female character, getting into a car accident, and forgetting the last 7 years of her life. Serena wakes up in the hospital, not knowing what has happened to her. She remembers her husband, Ollie, but not her two sons, or the last 7 years of their lives together. She spend the book, trying to remember what she’s forgot.
I absolutely loved this story. The characters were so real, and believable. And the boys, Mason and Cam, where adorable. I love the authors writing style in this book. I discovered after I started reading this book that it was part of a series, and that could explain why some thing this book talks about seemed confusing to me. But that didn’t take much away from the story of Serena and Oliver. There were some points in the story there I really didn’t like his character that much. He showed some major trust issues, but in the end he redeemed himself. I will definitely be reading other books from this author. And have already bought the other stories in this series. I would definitely recommend this book. It is really a great read.
This is one of those books where you need more than 5 stars! The story line is so captivating and so realistic. The characters are so real and so easy to fall in love with. The author has done a fantastic job writing the story line so the reader feels like they are right there with the characters. As you read along you find yourself getting lost in the pages and just want to escape your every day routines for a little while. Yes this is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Oliver and Serena have a nice life. Not exciting, but just really nice. She’s in a car accident, and spends four months in a coma. When she wakes up, she doesn’t remember the last seven years, and so many things in her life have changed, some for the worse. If only she could remember… This is a beautiful second chance story. Oliver and Serena aren’t the only ones who have another opportunity to get it right. The characters are real and flawed, and likable, except for when they’re not. His family is absolutely wonderful, a rock for them to lean on. This is the first book I’ve read from this author. I thought the book dragged a little in the beginning, but I hate to give up, and the story took off for me just around a quarter of the way in.

Book four in the St. Caroline a well written story with a good storyline the story flowed smoothly from one page to the other. Deputy fire chief Oliver Wolfe and his wife Serena Wolfe who has had to go through a lot, and their two sons Mason and Cam. I found this to be a very emotional story. When Serena Wolfe wakes up, she is confused. Where is she, why is she in hospital? Where is her new husband and love Oliver? When she is more aware, she finds out she has missed a lot. She was pregnant last time she knew and now Oliver is telling her they have 2 children and they are not babies. She is missing more than the months since her accident. Confusion and misunderstandings abound. This was a really good romance. Heart wrenching and heartwarming. A beautiful love in the day and day out of marriage.

It has been decades since I have fallen into the pages of a book and disappeared into so engrossing a story like I did with Julia Gabriel’s This Reminds me of Us. The author’s faultless, flowing writing strikes the perfect balance between introspection, dialogue and scene setting. I was utterly astounded at how present and visible these characters were to me. The characters were right in front of my eyes as I flicked the pages on my Kindle. Somebody gives this author a whole bunch of awards please!
This is a beautifully told story of a young family in crisis, of young love put to the test. Serina Wolfe wakes up from a coma, unable to remember the last seven years of her life. She does remember her husband Oliver, but her children and all of the friends she made in the town of St. Caroline are a mystery to her.
This story was “action packed” – such a small coastal town attracts all kinds of calamities that Firefighter Oliver Wolfe must deal with, while at the same time fighting his fears that his wife has changed and grown more distant since waking up from the accident that almost claimed her life.
I was rooting for this couple and their two lovable sons right down to the last chapter – Mason and Cameron are such hilarious cuties! For once in my life, I am GLAD this is a series because I can’t seem to get enough of the Wolfe and Trevor families and the small town of St. Caroline. You will laugh, you will groan – Oliver needs to accept change and loosen up a bit!!! – and you will definitely shed a tear or two as you read this book. All of your emotions and senses will be fully engaged as you walk into the drama that is Serena and Oliver’s life in this heartwarming story. (This is a standalone novel in the St. Caroline series.) I give this a 10 out of 5 stars, and a standing ovation! I was downright entertained!!!
My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed revisiting St. Caroline and its characters.
What I liked:
The writing style
The characters
Part of a series: St. Caroline
Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
Love this series, but this one was hard for me to read. Indeed, I needed to skip to the end after chapter 3 to reduce my tension. But then went back and read all the way through..Really well done. Compelling characters and a beautifully heartfelt premise. I also liked how we got Mason’s perspective.
3 1/2 Stars
I love amnesia romances, especially marriage ones.
The blurb was a big hook for me as it hinted at another life that was hidden from Serena and Oliver.
The storyline was realistic but fell flat on the romantic aspect as Oliver was the one who was really struggling with his marriage and feelings after Serena woke up from her coma after being out for four months.
His own insecurities were projected onto Serena as he misinterpreted information and judged her unfairly.
This shattered couple had to work very hard for their HEA. As Serena slowly recovered her memory to clear her conscience and prove her innocence, I wondered how Oliver would have treated her if she had never remembered what happened.
