USA Today Best Selling Author, Willow Winters, brings you an all-consuming, sizzling romance featuring an epic, anti-hero you won’t soon forget. Some love stories are a slow burn. Others are quick to ignite, scorching and branding your very soul before you’ve taken that first breath. You’re never given a chance to run from it. That’s how I’d describe what happened to us.Everything around me … us.
Everything around me blurred and all that existed were his lips, his touch…
The chase and the heat between us became addictive.
Our nights together were a distraction; one we craved to the point of letting the world crumble around us.
We should have paid attention; we should have known that it would come to this.
We both knew it couldn’t last, but that didn’t change what we desired most.
All we wanted was each other…

I’ve got a headache just trying to even think about how Willow puts these books together??? How can you possible write all of these books that tie into Marcus and then write this one AND the prequel and yet still have us on tenterhooks! it just doesn’t make sense! I just cannot get my head around how someone can do this! AMAZING read yet again the only down thing it the next book isn’t for ages!

Fantastic I need more now! Marcus his name says everything you need if you have read Whispers In The Night and In Dark Corners. This romantic suspense will drag you into the black hole of the story and won’t let you leave until you are done, then you only want to go back in for more. Seriously you need to read it now. Brilliant 5 stars!
EPIC anti-hero and mind-blowing twists and turns!
I’ve been waiting for Marcus’ story since I started this series, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Another great read by W Winters. I was taken on a wild ride and I need more. I still have unanswered questions, but am loving every moment of finding out more and more about the man who is Marcus. I could not put this one down!
Love triangle heaven or hell? What a page turner that’s laden with suspense, danger and off-the-charts intensity. I went into this without any previous knowledge about Marcus but I don’t think I’m missing to much. The feel of this story is very noir and heavy as federal prosecutor, Delilah, is haunted by the one that got away and is back to test her resolve. Marcus, the angel of death, is a dangerous murderer that’s taken a liking to Delilah and decides to help her with her cases while protecting her. But she has another protector. The hunky FBI agent, Cody. What a triangle! Cody has a longtime secret relationship with Marcus and now so does Delilah. They both take his help but want to catch him for the unsolved crimes he committed that brought Cody and Delilah together to work the case years ago. Cody is a mystery with a tragic past but he wants the girl just like Marcus. I want to known who was in the car with Delilah! This just ends without any answers and tons of questions. Curses! Terrific romance suspense that’s more about crime than a real romance. The writing pulled me in with complex characters and chilling storyline. Will Delilah survive Marcus’ infatuation? Will Cody survive Marcus’ jealousy? What a twisted tale of love, crime and consequences. I can’t wait for the next story in this compelling series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
“Monsters are real and the one named Marcus was the worst of them.”
Willow Winters gives us another gripping and thrilling story that dives into the Merciless world once again. This world never gets old for me. The characters are all unique and their stories capture my attention in every book.
This Love Hurts dives into what we all have been DYING to know. Marcus. What do we know about Marcus? That he’s a ghost. Nobody has a face to go with the name.
Walsh. Delilah. Marcus.
Mystery. Angst. Theory.
I can’t wait to see what Willow brings next with this story. She keeps me wanting, no, NEEDING more.
“They called him the grim reaper, the monster under your bed. They called him a lot of things but they only ever whispered his name in a single hiss.”
Marcus has been an enigma since the beginning of this series and now it is time for his story. We have slowly been learning about Delilah and Walsh as well however the details of their relationship were kept under wraps. Delilah is an attorney and falls for two very different men. Marcus who is dark and, in the mob, then there is Walsh and FBI agent she has worked with from time to time. Who will she choose? This is a fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense, emotion and intense chemistry. This read had me hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait for more. I loved it!
First things first—Marcus is shady AF and he’s kind of a creep in a good twisted way?! I could not stop reading! The story kept me wanting more! It’s full of drama, suspense, passion. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
This Love Hurts is an absorbing, intense read. It seems like forever since the first book in which Marcus appeared. What was that now – about a hundred books ago? I’m kidding but this story has been a long time coming. He’s a shadowy but deadly criminal figure who seems to be all-seeing and all-knowing and I have never been clear on his true agenda. This is his story but it’s also officer Cody Walsh’s story and the story of Delilah, the woman they both want. There is an important reveal at the end of this book which seems to answer one question but generates many more. Can’t wait for the next book!

OMG i wasn’t sure where to start on my review because i didn’t want to give away any spoilers. So I will just say Willow is definitely a master in her craft. She had me on the edge of my seat. My fingers not able to turn the pages fast enough lol. We are finally getting a better look into the lives/past of the next crew of main characters that is Marcus, Cody and Delilah. I need the next final part of this story now please!!!! If you are looking for a romantic suspense i highly recommend this one.
Willow Winters delivers the Most EPIC anti-hero and mind-blowing twists and turns in her brand new all consuming, THRILLING romance, This Love Hurts!
What the what just happpened?! Willow has become the QUEEN of romantic suspense, and This Love Hurts takes the cake. This was one of my highly anticipated reads and Willow did not disappoint. The story gripped my attention from the beginning and held on tight until the last page. Which by the way, was evil. I need to know more! I don’t know how she does it, but I hope she never stops writing because this world she has created is truly one of kind.
This Love Hurts was a passionate intense romance. Finally we have Marcus’s story. I have been waiting for his story and what a story it is. 5 amazing stars!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Great quick read.
It is intense and intriguing. I can’t wait for more of this story. I enjoyed it. I feel like even without the prequel it is a good start to a new series.
Willow Winters
This book certainly didn’t disappoint. It is, as expected, incredibly well written, leaving me intrigued, making me want to keep reading to find the answers. The storyline about two men and one woman intricately woven together is addictive. Marcus is the figure that lurks in the shadows of the previous merciless world books, but there’s so much more to him.
I’m greatly anticipating the next book. I need more Marcus, to know who he is, and how he links to Cody.
Ok, so seriously, who doesn’t secretly love the bad boy? I mean good guys are amazing, but when a bad boy shows up…they tend to take all of the air out of the room…am I right, yes I am. Marcus is that bad boy. We’ve watched him from the shadows and now we’re getting the low down on why he’s the way he is and oh is it going to be a juicy story. Loving this character and of course Cody and Delilah…wow…what a tangled web! Great job, once again, Ms. Winters, you sucked me in…one more time!
Starting with the prequel Do You Want Me? leading into This Love Hurts W. Winters’ brings a slow build up of intrigue with strong undercurrents of anticipation and smoldering attraction. The nuances and clues in these works were subtle even as they were strategic. Not one interaction in this story did not carry a lot of meaning behind its obvious intent. Deliah was a strong woman who grappled with having achieved what she set out to do in life but knowing she was missing something despite her successes. The question was what and this story led her on a twisty path of self-discovery that shocked even herself. Cody was a mystery with his role ambiguous yet never lessening his appeal as a key player. The wild card in this mix was Marcus, who he was and how he played a part in this work existed in a blurred area that taunted readers for the entire story.
The initial slower pacing of this story by this author was misleading as readers fell into complacency regarding the plot and the fate of her characters. That being said this work was extremely well calculated and Ms. Winters excelled in bringing her portrayals to a place of relaxed intimacy with her readers before she upended their comfort zones and tested their boundaries right alongside her characters. Exposing dark corners most people avoid this author brought a fascinating story to her audience with glaring purpose. Ending on a cliffhanger this is a work that will keep readers guessing and eagerly awaiting the fate of this cast of characters in their next installment!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.*
*This work ends on a cliffhanger.*
Oh my…..
What a gripping read.
A rollercoaster of emotions.
I want more. No, I need more. I need all the answers to all the questions swirling inside my head.
This Love Hurts is a suspense filled tale, weaved with secrets, drama and two guys who both want the same girl. Who will she choose? Who is going to be her hero?
“‘ . .”
Cody, the guy who has been protecting her, the guy who she has grown to trust or Marcus, the mystery man who hides in the shadows, the one who wants to protect her.
Delilah and Cody have a growing chemistry throughout but one interaction with Marcus and Delilah’s head is spinning.
The last few chapters pulled me in even further than I thought could be possible. The ending left me hungry for more. I don’t know how long I have to wait for the next part of this series, but I’ll definitely be looking out for it.
I’ve not read any of the books in the Merciless World so that might put me at a slight disadvantage when it comes to knowing more about Marcus and where he fits in. One way to fix that is to go read them and see if there’s anything I’m missing.
See you on the other side.
