USA Today Best Selling Author, Willow Winters, brings you an all-consuming, sizzling romance featuring an epic, anti-hero you won’t soon forget. Some love stories are a slow burn. Others are quick to ignite, scorching and branding your very soul before you’ve taken that first breath. You’re never given a chance to run from it. That’s how I’d describe what happened to us.Everything around me … us.
Everything around me blurred and all that existed were his lips, his touch…
The chase and the heat between us became addictive.
Our nights together were a distraction; one we craved to the point of letting the world crumble around us.
We should have paid attention; we should have known that it would come to this.
We both knew it couldn’t last, but that didn’t change what we desired most.
All we wanted was each other…

Willow, oh Willow!
You left me (us) with a cliff hanger??? Again??? I HATE cliffhangers!!!
Now, I’ll admit part 1 had me a little iffy o this story, but this part, part 2, sucked me in and now I’m left wanting more!
I’m not gonna tell you anything about this book and potentially ruin something for you. Just know this is part 2 and it does not end… there is for sure at least a part 3.
Before I started this book I made sure I had a clear day.
Because I knew once I began I wouldn’t be able to put it down.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Part one of this book is the prequel Do You Want Me.
Which I had already read but read it happily again.
Part two is riveting and had me on the edge of my seat!
It’s suspenseful and action packed.
Cody and Delilah are becoming closer.
While Marcus was content to stay in the background.
Well not anymore.
The Ghost is done with being hidden!
I am loving the dynamics going on with Delilah,Cody and Marcus.
I can’t say much about the plot so as not to give anything away.
But I’ll say it’s riveting and gripping.
And a bit of the mystery will come to light.
Just enough to whet the appetite.
And having me craving for more!
Hooked from the first page! Mystery, intrigue, suspense, secrets, intense heat, riviting characters and a gripping story line. Where will it all end! More, more, more please.
Talk about teaser!! I NEED to know more!!! I NEED to know who Marcus is. I feel like Willow is feeding me clues and it’s fun to have a guess but it’s killing me.
Can’t wait for the next installment
Notes. A lot of notes. But none of them give us what we want to know – the big question of Who is Marcus? This book was filled with so much mystery and intense intrigue. Delilah is caught between two men in her life while trying to juggle her career and her family. She’s on the cusp of discovering who Marcus is and how he knows Cody. Why is Marcus seemingly everywhere Delilah is? He has so many facets to his character. He seems to think Delilah is his, yet he lives in the shadows. Each page gave us another small piece of the puzzle, but yet, it’s not enough – I am so ready for more!
Willow Winters brings all the mind-blowing twists and turns in her brand new all consuming, THRILLING romance, This Love Hurts! It’s an all-consuming, sizzling romance featuring an epic, anti-hero you won’t soon forget.
Marcus.
If you’ve read the entire Merciless series, you know his name and have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of who he is! While we still don’t quite know after This Love Hurts his identity, what we do get is quite the exciting kick-off to his story. He’s behind every corner, pulling all the strings – love the way he toys with Officer Walsh in his relationship with Delilah, especially knowing now Walsh was never supposed to get that close. Everything keeps getting more tangled and twisted and seeing the connection now between Marcus and Delilah after the few interactions they had together……..I just know the rest of this series is going to be explosive and crazy hot and I can’t wait for more!
This love hurts so good. 3.5 stars that I am rounding to 3.
In the beginning of this book is the novella prequel Do You Want Me?, so here is my review of that as I read it already. We get a little bit of backstory on Delilah, Marcus’ love interest, how Cody Walsh was involved, and it was interesting. I loved that she was smart and fierce. I can’t wait to read how she fell for Marcus, and how their whole story unravels.
On to This Love Hurts. What was interesting about this book was the unraveling of Delilah. As I said, she was smart and fierce, but her interactions with Marcus made her unravel along with a case that threatened her life (she’s an assistant district attorney). Cody (an FBI agent) was keeping secrets from her, and she was keeping secrets from him. Cody was with her in a romantic and they mean something to each other. Plus Cody was trying to protect her from this threat, and Marcus wants her since Cody crossed that line with Delilah. Now Marcus will do anything to be with her. Marcus has a moment, shall we say, with Delilah, and “danger and desire” mixed with electricity to make me feel it! But that was the only steam, and I like books I read to be much more steamy. Marcus seems to be a monster, a ghost, the grim reaper, but I am excited to understand how he became those things. We may have a gotten a slight clue in this book, but there are still many questions to be answered! This author mentions this book having a “tick, tick, tick all the way up until we fall down this gripping roller coaster,” and that was exactly what this book had. I felt like we are still going up the ramp in this book, and the wild ride will come with the other 2 books. I am looking forward to them, because I was so excited for Marcus’ story!
*I received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review.*
I am still wondering what in the world is going on between the mainharacters. Marcus and Cody definitely have history to be revealed. Delilah seems to be caught in the middle. This book is full of mystery and suspense with a hefty dose of feels all the way through. As with all of Willow Winters’books you will be pulled in from the beginning and won’t stop until you reach the end. There is still so much to discover about Delilah and what happened in her life. Marcus is a man who keeps to the shadows but we learn he does have a heart and a weakness when it comes to Delilah. I can not wait to find out what happens to them next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
“Some love stories are a slow burn. Others are quick to ignite, scorching, and branding your very soul before you’ve taken that first breath. You’re never given a chance to run from it”.
So this book was a first for me, I felt like going into this one that there was more of the story that I did not get but alas I wanted to keep on reading. Delilah is a sharp lawyer that is pretty much balls to the walls and take no prisoners when it comes to the court room. She doesn’t rely on anyone or anything but there’s something missing. She has worked with Cody in the past and has an attraction to him, for her to only find out that he has the same for her. This is where the story gets really interesting, both Cody and Delilah worked on the same case looking for a certain serial killer only to have him slip away. They each have different take aways from this case that still haunt them. Enter Marcus (the man in the shadow), his man has a fascination for Delilah and watches everything and knows everything she does. Marcus and Cody have a past one that I’m not quite sure of but they are both wanting Delilah for themselves.
I really wanted to know more about Marcus and his story and how he came into all of this. And the attraction that Delilah and Marcus now have ( you will have to read the book to find out this information).
And the cliff hanger in the end left my jaw open
All in all this was a good, pretty quick read and I did really enjoy the mystery in it.
4 out of 5 stars it was I would definitely give it
I would like to thank Social Butterfly PR for the ARC of this one in return for my honest review!
This first half of this book was the prequel which I read which wants you longer for more. In this world we have been reading about all the Cross brothers and associates but Marcus has always been there but elusive.
We finally get to his story and it is intense but again Willow leaves us on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. BRAVO!!
Still no answers
We get some background on the strange relationship between Delilah, Marcus and Walsh but we still don’t have the answers to sooo many questions from the series.
5 THRILLING STARS!! This author knows how how to write a thrilling story that has you on the edge of your seat. Oh Marcus….he keeps us intrigued as always. Delilah and Cody are perfect….it’s one of those relationships that keeps you guessing. I am so I need of the next book…I am dying right now.
This Love Hurts is a well-written suspenseful story that will have you engrossed and at the edge of your seat. I’ve been anxious for this novel for a while now as I’m excited to find out who exactly is Marcus. While this story focuses mostly on Delilah and Cody, Marcus does indeed make a couple appearances and I’m left anxious for more.
Some questions are answered and more questions arise as we go on this journey with these three individuals. The story was fast-paced and mysterious filled with excellent world building, nail biting angst, fascinating characters and a well thought-out, layered and descriptive plot.
This Love Hurts is a fantastic page-turner that will give you all the feels as you will experience everything these characters go through, and I can’t wait for the next book But I Need You. Worthy of a 5 star status I would highly recommend this novel to all lovers of romantic suspense.

How explicit are the sex scenes – 2 / 5

Overall: – 4.5 / 5
I first read the short story prequel Do You Want Me?, which is written by author Willow Winters. I quickly became completely absorbed in Delilah’s story, and I couldn’t wait to read the next book. So, when This Love Hurts! appeared on my Kindle, I dropped everything and jumped right in. Just so you’re aware, the prequel story is included as Part I of the book. So, if you’ve already read the prequel, you can skip to Part II. Otherwise, you can start at the beginning if you haven’t read it.
This Love Hurts is an exciting page-turner, and I quickly became completely engrossed in it. I’m not sure how, but I think I have even more questions than I had after reading the prequel. Now, I’m dying to figure out all of the pieces to this puzzle! The mystery, suspense, and intrigue is killing me!
I can’t wait for the next book, But I Need You, which should be out in October.

Check out Willow’s new THRILLING romance!
The long awaited story of Marcus! My heart was racing reading this one. All I can say is, WOW! This is one hot book you don’t want to miss!
Willow weaves a tangled web of suspense, desire and WTH is going on!! Lana~White Hot Reads
I couldn’t put this book down. This is the story of Marcus, Delilah and Cody. Who is Marcus? How is he one step ahead? What does he want with Delilah and how is Cody involved in this suspenseful web of mystery. Delilah is a badass lawyer who is falling for the murderous Marcus and FBI agent Cody. I can’t wait for the next book to get answers.
Y’all I am so messed up on this book. I started out hating Marcus for all the manipulative and evil things that he did in the other books but as you know there is always a story that leads to what you become in the future and this one just gets better and better. Willow has a way with words and an evil twist where you think you know how this may go and it doesn’t. It’s like looking in a still pond and not knowing the dangers it holds. All I can say is You Need To Read This Series. It’s like dropping a bomb and wondering what kind of impact it will have when it hits the bottom. Is he the enemy or the savior? Will he remain in the shadows or come to the light? Has Delilah found her savior or the devil himself.
