USA Today Best Selling Author, Willow Winters, brings you an all-consuming, sizzling romance featuring an epic, anti-hero you won’t soon forget. Some love stories are a slow burn. Others are quick to ignite, scorching and branding your very soul before you’ve taken that first breath. You’re never given a chance to run from it. That’s how I’d describe what happened to us.Everything around me … us.
Everything around me blurred and all that existed were his lips, his touch…
The chase and the heat between us became addictive.
Our nights together were a distraction; one we craved to the point of letting the world crumble around us.
We should have paid attention; we should have known that it would come to this.
We both knew it couldn’t last, but that didn’t change what we desired most.
All we wanted was each other…

This is Marcus’s story!
He’s a ghost and what a great read to discover who he is and why he is who he is.
This dark romance thriller from Willow Winters takes the reader on a journey with twists and turns they won’t see coming. Intense, scorching read that will leave you breathless.
THIS LOVE HURTS starts with the first part being the prequel: DO YOU WANT ME. It is the hidden torrid affair between, Delilah, a prosecuting attorney, and FBI Agent Cody Walsh. Marcus is an invisible force controlling and manipulating from the shadows. It is made obvious that Delilah is the real love interest to Marcus. You know Marcus is only going to let Cody have her for just so long. Before he then will put an end to their hot love affair. This prequel is just the beginning. The Anti-Hero Marcus has a story that continues in the book. The man who hides in the shadows, while toying with other people’s lives, comes out of the shadows to only become the shadow himself. We also learn he is a great kisser.
There seems to be a love triangle between Cody, Delilah, and Marcus. The mysterious connection between these three remains a mystery. Marcus has been called a ghost, the grim reaper, the angel of death. She was off limits to both, but now caught in the middle. One thing was for sure, monsters where for real, and the one named Marcus was the worst of them. Yet, he wanted to be her hero, and the hero gets the kiss. Delilah had feelings stirring for one man, the one she should certainly not be attracted to, let alone love. She should not love either man, but the longer she stayed, she felt herself slipping. She feels like she has hit rock bottom. She is convinced that Marcus knows more about Cody Walsh and Cody knows more about Marcus. I hope that Willow Winters is writing really, really fast. Can’t wait for the next book in the series: BUT I NEED YOU!
This was another great read from Willow ,she never disappoints!!!! This book will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. This book was a roller coaster of emotions and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!!
This story has so many layers. I can’t wait for the next book to peel back even more. I have been intrigued by these characters for a while now, and so excited to see how everything plays out. W Winters has me on the edge of my seat!
This love hurts is right. The emotional roller coaster of Delilah, Marcus, and Cody continues from the prequel, giving you hope only to shatter it into shambles. Delilah is a strong heroine, but nobody does antihero, built up pain like Willow Winters and she’s on her A game here with Marcus as a muse. The setup always takes time but I never felt like there was info assailing me, its all seamless progression, baby step by step, making me want more with every action packed, angsty page!
ARC Review For honest review. Delish is a lawyer and agent Cody Walsh of the FBI have been trying to take down the angel of death serial killer Marcus . This is a story of getting to know him . Awesome story
The Delilah,Cody, Marcus thriller continues on and I’m no closer to the answer of who’s Marcus! I can’t wait to read the next installment so find out why happens next with these characters. This story is filled with twists, ups and downs and is extremely hard to put down.
This story is going to mess with your mind. It will make you feel like a CSI investigator but come out the end with more questions.
Marcus, Cody and Delilah, what a heartbreaking love triangle. I’m in awe with Willow’s execution on creating brilliant characters and a world of intrigue, love and loss. Delilah has no idea what world she is going to collide into when she starts a relationship with both of these mysterious men. Cody is the good cop or so we believe and Marcus is the villain, or is he the good guy?
All is unravelling but who is Marcus? So many questions with little clues being delivered with cryptic messages so I’m still as perplexed as when I started this thrilling ride.
Need the next book ASAP.
Oh this story is seriously my favorite book yet. I really loved these characters so much and enjoyed this story quite a bit. Just couldn’t get enough and not able to put down once started.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
It was a very entertaining story.
Like all of her books, Willow had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down.
I can’t wait to read what she writes next.
I can tell this is going to be one twisted ride!!!
This is book one which means this story will continue in book two, But I Need You, so be ready for the cliffhanger at the end of this book.
This story has us trying to piece together who Marcus is and what exactly he wants from Cody and Delilah. There seems to have been some sort of agreement between Cody and Marcus regarding Delilah and now both men have crossed lines they shouldn’t have. Delilah’s life is in danger, but both Marcus and Cody have vowed to keep her safe. This story is twisted and it seems the more I read the more intrigued I become. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in But I Need You because this series is shaping up to be totally captivating.
WOW! This Love Hurts had me from the very first word to the very last. When I read Do You Want Me? I knew that I needed more and boy did Willow Winters deliver. In part two of the book, more of Marcus and Delilah’s relationship is revealed. Marcus, in true Marcus form, is always one step ahead of everyone. He is there to protect Delilah, keeping her out of harms way in the shadows. He is also claiming what he sees as his, Delilah. Challenging Cody Walsh in every way and letting him know that he will do what needs to be done to keep her safe.
Delilah life is spiraling out of control. The man that she fears and wants to be caught and sent to jail is also someone she is starting to obsess over. Delilah’s encounters with Marcus leave her feeling scared and unsure. However she also senses that he is protective of her and she questions why he is. Their encounter in Cody’s house leaves her shaking to her core but it also ignites a desire within her. She knows it is wrong and questions if she is losing it. There are too many questions running through her mind as she tries to piece together how Cody and Marcus are connected and the role that she plays among this love triangle. I am left with this thought, “Two men pining for the love an attention of one woman.” What else will be revealed in the next story.
5 out of 5 stars
A MUST READ!!!
“Wow!Just wow!! Willow has me chomping at the bit, for more of Cody, Delilah, and Marcus. The suspense of who Marcus is and why he hides in the shadows, doing the things he does, keeps you curiously anxious. Cody is also an enigma who is hiding secrets of his own. Delilah is caught between these two mysterious, sexy males, but oh what a place to be caught in! I love, love, love this series so far and can hardly wait for the next book! “
Willow Winters continues her stunning journey in the writing world with This Love Hurts. This Love Hurts is just everything you want and need in a fantastic book. Once this story begins to unfold, it’s fast and keeps your wanting to know more. This one is a real nail biter of a read…full of action, adventure, intrigue and secrets. Delilah and Marcus are just both amazing. Their characters were written and developed beautifully throught the book. I literally want to live in this world with them.
This Love hurts is not your typical romance book but you will absolutely love it.
I applaud Willow Winters on this book. It truly is fantatsic and I cant wait to tell people to read it!
I voluntarily submitted an ARC review for this book.
An epic triangle of secrets and mystery!! I’m still reeling from this book and I want more!! I was sure I hated Marcus through this saga, but now I’m not sure!! Willow makes me second guess the motives of the bad guy!! Cody and Marcus have such a complicated history, I’m dying for it all to be revealed!! I’m on the edge of this emotional abyss of mystery!!
Wow!Wow!Wow! This book is my new favorite in the Merciless World collection. This Love Hurts centers around the lives of Delilah, Marcus, and Cody. It is a story of love that could be the best love story ever or a fight to the death in hopes of having that love forever. It will keep you on the edge. You will be reading as fast as you can to see what will happen next. Just when you think you have the answer, you realize there is a twist that leaves you spinning. This is a definite must have book. I can not wait for the next book! I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Who’s Marcus?…
1, he is a ghost, an enigma, a person of interest.
2, he is the one who has all the answers.
3, he is the one who will get what he wants no matter what.
This Love hurts is the story of Cody, Delilah, and Marcus. While two of them is trying to be ahead/cautious of the situations, the other one is way in front and feeding little crumbs to them on how the narrative is changing in their story. If Cody and Delilah want to come out ahead and figure out the what’s and the why’s of what’s going on, then they better be prepared for Marcus.
What…what…what? WHAT?! What the hell is this book? I feel like an addicted junkie and right now I need another hit. This book is so good. It’s mind-blowing. Just when it feels like we are finally getting closer to Marcus, Willow cuts us off again. If Marcus isn’t the most intriguing character I’ve EVER read, I don’t know who is. Willow has been teasing us with his existence for several books and it’s about time we finally figure this guy out. Only, it’s not as easy as it first seemed. This is not your typical dark mafia romance, nah. It’s very tasteful, very captivating, really well-planned. It’s a big giant puzzle that I’m sure will fall together once we have all the pieces. The story is pretty fast-paced and there wasn’t much time to take a breath and slow down the reading. But I think the kind of story This Love Hurts is, needs to be fast, needs to pull you in right from the beginning.
This Love Hurts is mysterious. I kept turning page after page hoping the big reveal would be on the next page. Willow knows how to bring the emotions to life with her words, she is super talented when it comes to that. So to say that this was an emotional ride would be an understatement. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series! FIVE BIG STARS!
While this is a new series, we already know the characters from Merciless series and Hard to love series. You don’t have to read them before, but they are super good so I recommend you do read them at some point.
This book was a lot shorter than I expected. The first half of the story includes the prequel Do You Want Me? which I had already read. I was a little disappointed to see that the story of Delilah, Marcus, and Cody wasn’t expanded as much as I had hoped.
But what we got was great.
Someone is targeting Delilah and Marcus is there in the shadows, always one step ahead, protecting and admiring Delilah. Until it seems he can’t wait in the shadows any longer, Marcus finally makes contact with Delilah and she’s dealing with the dilemma of being equally scared and attracted to her white knight? Dark knight? Protector?
When we first met Delilah, she was a resident in the inpatient psych ward. This Love Hurts starts to give you a peek into her unraveling. It’s a slow progression, but I always wondered how such a confident and competent lawyer could end up in the psych ward.
Alas, it ended far too soon with more questions than answers. Sign me up for the next one; I’ll be here waiting.
