I was a self-appointed bachelor and happy to have the title. Everyone thought it was time for me to settle down and find a nice girl. Well, no thank you. This cowboy wanted to stay clear of relationships. I wanted the freedom that came with no strings. But what did I know? Nothing apparently.Everything changed when I looked into her green eyes; my world tilted when she smiled at me.What was this … me.
What was this feeling?
Whatever was happening had me losing my damn mind. I fumbled with my words. My body wasn’t my own. I wanted her … desperately.
Was I ready to give up my bachelor days, or was this Irish girl simply an itch I needed scratched?

Readers who have been with the Parker crew from the beginning of Kelly Elliott’s Cowboys and Angels series are more than familiar with Cord’s extracurricular activities as well as his desire to remain single despite his brothers and sisters finding their happily ever afters, reveling in the love and commitment that’s found their way into their lives. Every time the discussion of being a one-woman kind of guy came up in the past, Cord adamantly denied his desire for that type of relationship and took things even further by stating unequivocally that he would never be Smurfed, and with every flirty look, lewd word, and storage room hook up, Cord stayed true to his self-professed manwhoring ways, making it quite impossible for anyone to believe, especially his brothers, that there was a woman who could bring Cord to his knees.
I have to be honest…I didn’t know how Kelly Elliott was going to win me over when it came to Cord finally falling for THE woman. I had my doubts that she could realistically illustrate Cord’s transformation, but after finishing Cord and Maehb’s story, I can wholeheartedly say that I’m so glad that Elliott proved me wrong, and while there is a bit of the ‘too soon’ vibe, the steps these Cord and Maehb take to work through their fears and give themselves to one another despite the risk was illustrated beautifully.
The fact that Cord and Maehb have been circling each other since she arrived in Texas lays credence to the fact that they’ve been slowly developing confusing feelings for one another, which is further illustrated by their reactions and their inability to get the other one out of their every thought. It’s more than clear that Cord’s past with women is a point of contention but the only way that anything could work between Cord and Maehb is if they figure out a way to move beyond the notches on his bedpost and focus on how it will be the first time Cord gives more than his body to a woman and that is a significant difference that they both need to realize as they move forward and try to build something lasting between them.
I do have to say that I felt like Maehb’s character was a bit underdeveloped, and I’m not sure if it’s because I already knew some about Cord due to his presence in all of the earlier books or if it’s because Cord’s the character who needed to change who he was, but I felt like I didn’t really know much about Maehb, except for the pertinent details of her life in Ireland, her dad, and her business. She is such a unique and beautiful Irish lass, and I just wanted to understand who she was and why she was as emotional as she was throughout the course of the text.
The fact that Maehb and Cord are in uncharted territory when it comes to an intimate relationship – one with commitment, strong feelings, and passion – makes it interesting to see how they react to each other and how their feelings translate through their touches, their words, and their need for one another’s body, heart, and soul.
This love that Maehb and Cord create is worth changing for…this love is one that guides them into the unknown and allows them to hold on despite the fear and anxiousness that comes with something so new. This love between them is everything and I loved watching it grow and witnessing these two feel strong enough to take the biggest risks of their lives.
Trevor’s story is up next and I’m anxious to see if Trevor’s mistakes can be rectified or if Scarlett moves on without him, feeling like she no longer has a choice or a chance to be what she wants and needs to be in his life.
4.5 Poison Apples
This Love is the 6th book in the Cowboys and Angels series and each book keeps getting better and better!! Kelly Elliott really knows how to write Romance with her sexy cowboys and angelic heroines. Like all the other Parker halves she did not disappoint with our Cailin Meabh – The Irish translation/meaning for Meabh is “she who intoxicates” and that is definitely what she has done with our poor Cord Parker. Cord is a bachelor through and through but he can’t deny the connection that he has with the Irish beauty.
Watching these two fall in love was an epic journey that I didn’t want to end. It was everything you’d expect from a Romance Novel – it was HOT Sweet Sexy Swoony Emotional and Funny, throw in the rest of the Parker clan and you have one ah-ma-zing story that’s not to be missed. Kelly Elliott has knocked another one out of the park. Trust me you NEEEEEED to read this. NOW!!!
Oh Cord, you sweet, sexy beast you! Cord is well known for his one time and done bachelor ways. Then he sets eyes on Maebh and his breath is knocked out of him. She’s beautiful, an entrepreneur and seems to be wise to his ways. Will Cord be able to change his ways and be who she needs him to be or is he going to mess it up?
When Cord starts to have feelings for Maebh it scares the crap out of him. She’s too sweet and not a one time deal. I loved watching these two fall in love. Loved seeing his brothers and their significant others too.
This book held me spell-bound! I couldn’t read it fast enough or put it down. I have been anxiously awaiting Cord’s story and waiting to see love knock him on his tail! I loved Maebh (for those of you not familiar with this book or series, it’s pronounced May with a v sound, rhymes with fav) and getting to see her story and her family history. Her restaurant was nothing like Cord’s bar but she kept him on his toes in various ways. I loved seeing her give him a run for his money! I liked the fact that she was friends with the women in his family first and the chemistry between them was palpable and inevitable. Cord’s mama liked her too which of course spelled trouble for him. There were times as I was reading this book, I was literally laughing out loud. This book was swoony and sweet, sexy and hot! Maebh fit in with everyone in Cord’s life and she changed him in the best of ways. This book gave me a delicious book hangover and I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t read this series, you must start with book 1, Lost Love.
The Cowboys and Angels series may be my newest favorite series by Kelly Elliott!! This Love was everything you have come to know and love from the amazing author! I have been waiting for Cord’s book for what seems like FOR-EV-ER! Maebh was exactly what Cord needed in his life and watching them fall in love was everything I wanted it to be and more! And I love that we still get to see what our favorite Parkers are up to! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
4.5 Stars!
When it comes to sweet and sexy romances, I just can’t get enough of the Cowboys and Angels Series by Kelly Elliott. These stories are rich, full of heart and know just how to knock a girl off her feet and make her swoon. This Love is the latest story to runway with my heart.
This Love is a heartwarming and sweet romance. It’s the kind of romance that just want to curl up with a blanket and put up a do not disturb sign. This story will give you all the feels and will make your heart soar.
From the moment we’re introduced to Cord and Maebh, you get a sense that their story is going to rock your world. The pull between the two of them is instant and has you dying for more. Cord is the sweetest guy, but he’s the kind of guy your mom always warned you about. His looks and charm are lethal. He is the very definition of a player and isn’t going to settle down anytime soon. All that seems to be working until Maebh enters the picture. With her amazing accent, beauty and innocence, Cord doesn’t stand a chance. Despite just how opposite these two were, they were like magnets. Wild horses couldn’t keep these two away from one another. Their back and forth. Their push and pull. All of it left me in anticipation and excitement for the possibilities yet to come.
I had a lot of fun watching Cord and Maebh navigate their way through things. Both feeling things neither one of them ever anticipated. Both wanting to do things right because they knew what they were feeling was special. Their story was just so incredibly sweet. It left my heart aching and dying for more. I just couldn’t enough of these two and was excited to see just how their story was going to play out. Now, of course you know, their journey to happily ever after wouldn’t be without its share of ups and downs, but these two had a connection worth fighting for and I couldn’t help but root for a happy ending for these two.
Once again, Kelly Elliot has blown me away. She’s written a beautiful, heartwarming story that has captured my heart and has given me all the feels. This series just keeps getting better and better. I didn’t think it would be possible to fall more deeply in love with a set of characters and their family, but this author just keeps proving me wrong. Each new book is like an exciting episode of my favorite television show. While the book may be new, their are so many familiar faces and it honestly just feels like coming home.
I loved every moment of This Love. It hit all the marks for a good romance and certainly had me swooning. This Love is filled with a lot of heart and emotion. With just the right amount of drama and angst, you’ll find yourself devouring the pages just as quickly as I have. And don’t even get me started on the ending!! All I’m gonna say is the stage has been set for the final book in this series and I just know my mind is going to be blown. So, you can be sure that I am going to be counting down the minutes until I get that seventh book in my hands……
5 Finding His Agra Stars!!!
I’ve been waiting for Cord to take the plunge and fall in love since we met him in Lost Love. And fall he did and hard!! Maebh is a woman that has gotten under his skin and as much as he wants to fight his feelings for her were stronger than he’s ever experienced. Maebh has never felt this way about anyone before…
“It felt passionate, thrilling, dangerous. Like I was freefalling and I had no control over how my heart was opening to him and what would happen if he broke it in two.”
There were some moments when I thought it wasn’t going to work out for them, because, well, it’s Cord! But thanks to his family and him actually paying attention to how wonderful love can be, he stops fighting for his girl.
These two together are beautiful. She’s sweet and innocent and so beautiful inside and out and she loves him something fierce! There are some very funny moments in this book courtesy of Chloe and his brothers. So much so that I was snort laughing!!
Cord is a man that once he sets him mind to something, he won’t let anything or anyone deter him from getting what he wants and this is truly tested in this book…
“I’ve never given my heart away to anyone and you hold the power to completely destroy me if you wanted to.”
This series has absolutely become one of my favorites by Ms. Kelly and with each book I fall more and more in love with the Parker family!!
Lol!!! What a funny but beautiful love story. These Parker’s are hilarious and it’s never a dull moment.
Cord is the second youngest brother who didn’t think he will catch the bug his other siblings got, falling in love, until he met Maebh. The Irish beauty whom he thought was going to be his business competition was his undoing. At first signals were mixed because she thought he didn’t like her and vice versa. Maebh never hid that she had feelings for Cord. When matchmaker momma Parker and the Parker sisters and wives got wind of this?! Epic lol moments!! When these two got the little push it was electrifying. Cord proved to Maebh that he can change and it was all because of her. His manwhore past was a concern for Maebh but she saw the love in his eyes and she trusted him dearly.
The conversations, the kids, lol omg!!! The slight bump was just slight and it was resolved in a blink of an eye. Cord was not going to let anyone destroy his happiness and separate him from Maebh. Maebh stopped letting his past affect her and these two were just as dedicated as the other siblings that were already in love.
It’s never a dull moment with this family. They are there for each other in thick and thin and also in pranks, lol. Now Trevor the youngest is the only left. Let’s see what’s next.
Kelly Elliott reminded me why I fell in love with the romance genre years ago with This Love. This book is what romance is all about. Epic love, heart pounding moments full of emotion, and breathtaking sweetness all wrapped up with close knit family and friends to round out into a book that you won’t be able to put down. Cord and Maebh are my absolute favorite in this series. Their story held me completely captivated start to finish and left me wishing it never ended! I could have stayed happily lost in this book forever!
From the bits of Maebh in previous books I already had a feeling I’d like her, but I more than liked her. Her innocent sweetness coupled with a quiet strength made her a joy to read. Of course Cord, like every man Kelly Elliott has written, was a master of swoon. Living his life as a confirmed bachelor he was thrown for a loop the moment he first saw Maebh. But that player lifestyle didn’t stand a chance because when Cord falls, he falls hard!
From these two dancing around each other to the ultimate fall into blissful happiness there’s not a dull moment to be found. Maebh, Cord, and the entire Parker family will have you glued to the pages dying to see what will happen next!
As usually happens with a Kelly Elliott book, I picked this one up to read a few pages and ended up reading it from beginning to end without stopping.
This Love has everything I’ve come to expect from this author. It’s sweet, yet sexy. it’s funny but still has very touching parts.
As always, we get to see our favourite couples reappearing throughout this book. And trust me when I say, at the end of this you WILL be on pins waiting for the last book of the series.
I have been Smurfed! Oh I love it when a playboy is brought to his knees by the right girl.
True to form Kelly Elliott delivers an amazing story and has me falling completely in love with yet another of her swoony cowboys!
Cord Parker is happy with life the way it is. He owns a successful bar where the women come to him, and never intends to settle down. So when the sexiest woman he has ever seen opens an Irish restaurant/bar next door, he isn’t sure what to do with all the feelings that being near her invokes. I fell head over heels in love with this tough broody man with a heart of gold.
Maebh is my kind of girl and we could totally be friends. She is sweet, with a bit of a naughty side. Elliott wrote her accent perfectly and I loved every second of it.
This one might be my favorite in this series! I can never get enough of Elliott’s sexy cowboys! I cannot wait to get my hands on Trevor’s story! I highly recommend you grab this one!
LOVE THIS!!! Kelly Elliott is at it again with her Cowboys and Angels Series. This book is out of this world amazing. I’ve been waiting for Cord to fall, and fall he did!! This book had me on the edge of my seat with emotions. The scenes that take place in Ireland make me want to get on a plane and go see the Emerald Isle, such beautiful descriptions. And of course Aunt Vi, is back. Gotta love Aunt Vi’s input into everything, so funny.
* A review copy was provided by the author for the Blog Tour *
This Love was another great addition to the Cowboy and Angels Series by Kelly Elliott. I will always read a book by this author especially if it has some swoon worthy cowboys!!!!
What happens when a playboy cowboy meets his match?? Read This Love to find out how Cord and Maebh navigate these rocky waters.
I was so excited to read Cord’s book because I wanted to see what Kelly had planned for this playboy bachelor. I have to be honest I did want to smack him around a couple times and tell him to wake up, but I was so happy it didn’t take him too long to realize what he had right in front of him. I also LOVED Maebh….I thought her personality was the perfect match for Cord. I think the only thing that I wasn’t too thrilled with was the direction the storyline took towards the end (about 78% in) I thought it was kind of predictable and I wish it wouldn’t have been in there. But there always has to be some kind of drama to keep us on our toes. I still thoroughly enjoyed this story.
As with all the past books in this series, This Love is not really a standalone novel. Yes each book is about a new couple but this all revolves around the Parker family and the main story keeps going from story to story. This is a series I would definitely recommend reading in order to enjoy the full effect the Parker Siblings have. This story is told in Dual POV and I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. I always get swept up in Kelly’s books.
This Love is the 6th book in this series and it follows Cord and Maebh’s story. Cord owns and operates the local bar in town and isn’t all that thrilled to find out someone new is coming to town to open an Irish pub/restaurant. That is until he gets a look at the new person….Maebh. Maebh used to live in Ireland with her father, who owns a whiskey distillery. She has always dreamt of opening an Irish restaurant in America. Drawn to a small town in Texas because it is linked to her mom, she picks this town. Instantly making new friends and finding everyone friendly all except one person….. Cord. Can Maebh and Cord find a happy medium? What happens when Cord realizes Maebh isn’t out to run his business out of town?? Can they find their HEA?? Read This Love to find out.
I again enjoyed seeing all of the Parker siblings in this story and the people who they fell in love with. This family truly knows how to bring the comic relief to this series. Aunt Vi will have you rolling in your seat with laughter. I hope we get to see more of Aunt Vi and Maebh’s father 😉 in the last book of this series. Trevor is the last sibling to get a book and I am looking forward to seeing him redeem himself after some of the things that happened in this book.
If you are a fan of family saga series, this is one you don’t want to miss!!!
Kelly Elliott just made me jump, laugh and cry all in one sitting with Cord Parker. Have to say I never thought we will see Cord like this but man Maebh is perfect for him. I loved that Maebh and her accent brought a glimpse of the Irish to this little Texas town capturing this readers heart. Kelly Elliott totally rocked Cord and Maebh giving us a glimpse of sadly the last one in the series Trevor’s story. Readers beware Cord is not one to just read you will fall in love with him.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This Love is the sixth book in the Cowboys and Angels series and each book keeps getting better and better. Cord is my favorite Parker brother and I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on his book. This Love exceeded my expectations and is filled with so much love, romance and swoon-worthy moments.
Ms. Elliott did an excellent job with the character development as I wasn’t expecting Cord (the notorious womanizer) to be so romantic. He tried to resist but the attraction to Maebh was too strong. I adored Maebh as she was a sweet, down to earth and innocent Irish beauty. Both of them were so easy to love and their relationship was everything and more. Of course there were hilarious antics from the other Parker family members which made the book even better.
This Love is a wonderful book that I definitely recommend. I am anxiously awaiting the final book in this series!!
The 6th book in the Cowboys and Angels Series was everything I expected and more……
I love this series but Cord and Maebh’s story for me is the best who would have believed an Irish lassie could bring the playboy to his knees. Cord Parker is not happy about a restaurant/bar opening down the road from his drinking hole and he see’s Maebh as a threat and takes it on himself to try and run her out of town what he doesn’t bargain for is a feisty Irish woman prepared to stand toe to toe with him. Maebh may seem like the woman who takes no nonsense she may talk a good game but underneath the front she puts up is a woman that’s lonely, homesick and just a tiny bit vulnerable. Cord has every intention of sending her packing well that was until he came face to face with her and it only took one look one smile and he was a goner he fell head line and sinker for the gal with the adorable Irish accent……..
I loved that Kelly Elliott kept the thick Irish brogue throughout this story, I loved the characters and I loved being back with the Parker gang and their pets. This Love is romantic comedy at its best.
I have been waiting so patiently for Cord’s story and it was so worth the wait. Maebh was certainly the woman for Cord as he was bound and determined that he would continue playing the field and not settle down.
All the woman in the Cowboys & Angels series are phenomenal, but I may well have a new favourite in Maebh. I just loved everything about this woman , she was beautiful inside and out and certainly a match for Cord Parker.
Cord is attracted to Maebh but also concerned that he will eventually hurt her. However he doesn’t count on his mother’s matchmaking and the intense chemistry and attraction that sizzles between Maebh and him. Can Cord change his flirtatious ways and become a one woman man or is he destined to be a lonely player?
Kelly Elliot has writing romantic comedy down for sure as each of these books have had moments of sheer genius and plenty of laughter throughout and This Love is no exception.
Kelly Elliott writes strong characters and she is not afraid to show their flaws, I think it is this that makes her books so special.
Cord in my opinion was always going to be the Parker man to fall the hardest and fall he did. This Love had me engrossed from the first chapter to the last and lived up to my expectations in every way.
This was one of those books I wanted to take slowly, to savour the story and yet I found myself riveted and saying to myself, just one more chapter until I finished.
This Love was a beautifully written, romantic story and one I highly recommend. I cannot wait for more in this series.
The Smurfs have a new Addition!!!!!
Lord help me, I knew Cord was going to fall hard when he fell, but he has me yelling TIMBER!!!!!! lol……
Maebh has no idea the impact she has had on the town’s most infamous bachelor and she truly has a hard time believing that she can possibly be it for this man, but rest assured she totally is. Cord is so head over heals he doesn’t even know what to do half the time when she is around. It was so awesome to watch/read him convince not only Maebh, but himself just how much he loves her.
Hearts were breaking everywhere as another Parker brother is taken off the market and added to the land of the Smurfs!!!!
This story was everything we have come to love and expect from Kelly Elliott. It was a fabulous addition to this series.
