You’ll have your deposit within seven business days, just like it says on Getaway.com. I’ve put through a refund to your credit card for the full amount, minus $200 to replace the stained sheets…MirandaWhen 30-year-old Dawn reads Miranda’s email, she sees red. People have always told Dawn she’s beautiful, and she just hopes they don’t see beneath—to how she grew up, to what she’s always tried … grew up, to what she’s always tried to outrun. She revels in her getaways with her perfect (maybe too perfect) husband, the occasional long weekend in luxurious homes, temporarily inhabiting other people’s privileged lives. Miranda’s email strikes a nerve, with its lying intimation that Dawn is so dirty you need to throw out her sheets.
Beware of your “host”
I wouldn’t have left a review at all, if I didn’t feel it was my civic duty to warn others…
57-year-old Miranda thought she’d seen it all, but she can’t believe her eyes when she reads Dawn’s review. She’s a doctor’s wife but she needs that rental money, desperately. People might think her life is privileged, but they don’t know what’s really going on. They don’t know about her son. She won’t take this threat to her livelihood—to her very life—lying down.
Two very different women with this in common: Each harbors her own secret, her own reason why she can’t just let this go. Neither can yield, not before they’ve dredged up all that’s hidden, even if it has the power to shatter all they’ve built.
This is not over.
This is so not over.

Holly Brown’s This is Not Over is a hypnotic, psychological thriller that had me hooked from the opening sentence. Cleverly paced and pulsating with tension… With sharp wit and intricate detail, Brown takes the reader on a wild ride right up to the mind-bending conclusion… brilliant!
Voyeuristic and addictive. Two women from opposite socio-economic classes engage in a private vendetta that begins online and ends up blowing up both their personal lives. Thought provoking treatment on people not being who they seem–even to themselves.
Sometimes you wonder how simple situations get so crazy, this is a glimpse into both sides of the story, or rather four sides of the story. Not a must read but you’ll stay to the end of the story.
This was written in an interesting way but it was hard to relate to the story line as it’s not the way I would have dealt with the issue at hand. It’s hard to relate when you keep thinking “why are you two so stupid???”
It kind of difficult to get into. I am not sure there was a message to except that even small actions can have major effects on other people’s lives.
Too long for the topic, a bit predictable.
Very up-to-date re: reviews of vacations. It’s easy to see how a war like that can start and escalate.
From the plot description, I really expected to like it much more than I did. Unfortunately, the main characters were, to a one, not at all likeable or relatable, and the plot bogged down int (sorry) trite stupidly. The “twist” at the end read like the editor told the author that a twist was needed and they tacked it on. A quick read, but disappointing.
Very clever plot. You can see how someone can get to this place without emotional maturity and restraint. Really loved it and recommend highly.
This book was just okay to me! Took awhile to get into it, wasn’t a page turner for sure.
Surprise ending and lots of twists and turns.
Great book!
I did not like this book at all. I would not recommend it.
This is a book to take you away from the day to day. It is about a minor dispute that goes very wrong, yet allows the two participants to finally get to themselves in a way I seriously doubt they ever could have any other way. I liked it more than three stars indicate but it is still and airport kind of a book.
Very good book. Not the ending I expected.
I wanted to read the book because the premise is believable and there was the hook of dark back stories. It started off fine but it wasn’t long before a few basic flaws in the story emerged. The way Miranda handled the sheet situation seemed implausible for a person who has done this rental thing for a while. I simple photo to start, but then there wouldn’t be a book. As the story goes on, there were relationship issues that were totally unbelievable, but I don’t want to give anything away. Despite all that, I was drawn to the book and finished it, mostly to see how it would rap up. I suggest reading it as a summer or quick weekend away book.
I just finished this book. It makes you think, what would I do in this situation?. I once had someone tell me that one person’s perception is another person’s reality. This book is a perfect example of how a circumstance can be misunderstood. It’s worth a read.
With this She Said, She Said tale of terror in everyday life — a getaway vacation rental gone wrong — Holly Brown proves she is both a chronicler of our modern age, and a writer who should be on everyone’s watch.
Intelligently crafted and rivetingly dark, this chilling tale of two women waging psychological warfare will hook you, capture you, and keep you reading as fast as you can. Timely, terrifying, and disturbingly believable.
This Is Not Over is an absolutely riveting novel that starts with a situation that could happen to any of us, and slowly and masterfully escalates it into a crisis of character for two women that is both nail-bitingly suspenseful and full of insight into our collective humanity.’
