The first time Jayson Reece saw Chloe Schaeffer, he knew she would be his forever. He promised her then that he would show her how to live rather than just letting life pass her by. Now, 9 years later, they’ve had the storybook romance, a picture perfect wedding, and two twin boys to complete the family they always wanted. But something is missing… Chloe decides to be a stay-at-home mom until the boys are old enough to go to school. So, with her dreams of being a social worker put on hold, she throws everything she has into being the perfect mother and wife.
Jayson has a very demanding career as an Emergency Room physician. He tries to balance out his workload and that of being a family man, but lately his job has come first. Is he beginning to lose focus on the things that are most important to him?
Will Chloe’s drive for perfection and the challenges of Jayson’s career drive them apart? Or will they realize that love creates the perfection she desires and the balance he needs to keep his family together?
There’s only one thing left to do. Jayson needs to renew his promise to Chloe and she needs to trust Jayson to get them back to where they belong.
A place where living and loving is required…those only wanting to exist need not apply.

Heart warming & emotional. Tears of happiness and sadness will be shed.
Hardest review I’ve ever had to write. Urgh where do I start?. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more and I cried even more. Word of warning you will need a few boxes of tissues whilst reading this book.
The author has put her heart and sole into this and it is an amazing read. It’s 9 years later Chloe and Jayson are married with their twin boys, but not everything is a bed of roses. Jayson’s residency is taken it’s toll on the couple and Chloe has all sorts running through her head when Jayson fails to make it home one night, and no call or text she thinks the worst but then her worst is he is having an affair or been in an accident.
But after a heart to heart with Ava and a phone call to the hospital Jayson and Chloe talk and some news is revealed the couple are excited but then tragedy strikes will it bring them closer or push them further apart?
I will be honest I had to put the book down and go back to a few hours later. Even when I finished the book I couldn’t even form words to put in my review. A must read
A heartfelt, emotional story. The ups and downs along with loss, Jayson and Chloe learn to find their way, to fight to hold on. This one’s a page turner that’ll have you captivated. It’s a read that will take you on a journey, showing how that no matter what love wins. Definitely recommend reading.
I just had the opportunity to read and review To Live Again (The Living Series #1) and This is Living (The Living Series #1.5) by Melody Dawn Back to Back. Both books are about the same Persons. Only “This is Living” takes places several years after the first Book “To Live Again”. And I can not advice to read “This is Living” without reading “To Live Again” first.
It was a well written, fast and easy read even if the plotline was hard to digest at times.
If I would have to sum up the content of this book in one short statement I would say, this is a book about forgiving yourself and learning to life with your mistakes.
I hope nobody will ever have to face what Chloe went through and honestly it is no wonder she is broken beyond repair. She is trapped by her past, trapped by a mistake she only had half the blame to take for if at all.
And there lies is also one of the things I found hard to understand. I can not go into detail to avoid spoiler but as far as I understood it due to a fact that was out of her control she did something. Its true she did something wrong but in the end result that would not have mattered that much anyway. And there were other persons also involved and (I might have overlooked it but) I did not read anything about what happened to them.
How could I explain without spoiler I wonder. Let me try with food… lets say you are forbidden to eat Ice-cream… but you still eat ice-cream and drop dead because someone poisoned the ice-cream. Does it still matter that you ate the ice-cream ? I believe the focus should be why it was poisoned !
You will understand what I mean when you read the book. In the end, it does not matter – because what happened – happened and no matter who takes the blame in the end it was Chloe that “did” it.
Jayson is this really sweet guy – that is basically “perfect” from top to bottom and not even Chloe can deny that, but she considers herself unworthy of live and love.
So from the moment those two meet Jayson is in for the fight of his life not even knowing what he is fighting against, which makes it extremely difficult to gain ground.
Life’s will be ruined, Hearts will be broken and in the question is who will survive.
The demons or the love …
I recommend this continuing series to everyone! The author, Melody Dawn tells the story from different povs, so we know how all the characters are feeling and what their thoughts are. I’m so glad she does this! The main characters in this book are still Jayson and Chloe, just like the first book, To Live Again. I highly suggest reading book one to get all the background on everyone, but if you don’t you will still enjoy book two. They first meet nine years ago, during a class at Rice University. They have had their ups and downs, but we feel like we’re right there with them through the author’s words. I must admit, you will need tissues with this book also, but we do have a hea! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, so I can learn more about Connor and Madison.
