New York Times bestselling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips magic is vibrantly alive, and it’s on display in This Heart of Mine, the fifth book in her wildly popular Chicago Stars series!Molly Somerville loves her career as the creator of the Daphne the Bunny children’s book series, but the rest of her life could use some improvement. She has a reputation for trouble that started even before she … that started even before she gave away her fifteen-million-dollar inheritance. Then there’s her long-term crush on the quarterback for the Chicago Stars football team her sister owns—that awful, gorgeous Kevin Tucker, a man who can’t even remember Molly’s name!
One night Kevin barges into Molly’s not-quite-perfect life and turns it upside down. Unfortunately, the Ferrari-driving riving, poodle-hating jock isn’t as shallow as she wishes he were, and she soon finds herself at a place called Wind Lake. Surrounded by paintbox cottages, including a charming old bed-and-breakfast, Molly and Kevin battle their attraction and each other as they face one of life’s most important lessons. Sometimes love hurts, sometimes it makes you mad as hell, and sometimes—if you’re lucky—it can heal in a most unexpected way.

Book #5 in the Chicago Stars series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and once again, this is my new favorite of the series. OK, let’s be honest, this entire series is one of my favorites. Each and every book has a little twist in it, each of the characters is unique, while the overall storyline is similar each still is unique. This one feels like …
My go-to book when I need to leave the world behind for a few hours. The characters in this book, especially Molly, will charm the doldrums right out of you. Right up at the top of my all time favorite romances!
This is one of my favorite authors and I have read every book she has written. As with her title, all her books are great love stories, opposites when they meet, obstacles overcome, everlasting love – great formula and always great characters.
Love all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ books!! Keep up the great work!
Didn’t think SEP could top NBBM, but she did. I need to reread this
Susan Elizabeth Phillips never disappoints!
Another win for Susan Elizabeth Phillips! Great characters who seemingly have nothing in common. Builds to a wonderful ending!
I LOVE Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and this is one of my favorites of her books. Highly recommend this one! Funny and romantic.
this book combined both humor and romance with heartbreak . If you love a good book with real emotion and a touch of whimsy you will love this book
My absolute favorite book in the series (and not just because it was the first book of the series I read) I loved the characters and how real they were.
loved it. loved it
Great summer read!
Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes witty, sweet, romantic comedies that have both laugh out loud moments and grab a tissue scenes. I love them all, but this one is my very favorite.
This story really begins with the book “It Had to be You.” In it we meet the sullen teenager Molly Somerville. Now all grown up and a children’s book author, Molly has …
Phoebe’s little sister is all grown up and making it on her own without her Daddy’s money, well almost. Molly writes children’s books. The character Benny looks a lot like a Star’s football quarterback, Kevin.
When Molly’s crush on Kevin gets her in trouble, he comes to her rescue. Only it’s not the real deal. A bumpy ride for a jock to find his …
Can’t go wrong with this author
One of my favorite authors.
SEP is one of my all-time favorite authors and I picked this one first because I just love writer Molly and quarterback Kevin. But everything she writes is delightful and fun, with enough romance for romance fans and enough “other stuff” for people who like romantic fiction but may not be traditional romance fans.
Her characters are smart and …
I love, love, love anything by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Great story and great characters.
I love the repartee in her stories. She is a hoot.
