USA Today Bestselling BookShe’s never left her home in the mountain wilderness of the Canadian Rockies—until now. Little did she realize this journey would change her life in every way.The mountain wilderness of her family’s home in the Canadian Rockies is all Hannah Grant has ever known. Now at the age of twenty-four, she’s on a journey to help her father to find the son he gave up for adoption … her father to find the son he gave up for adoption three decades before. This is Hannah’s chance to discover the life she’s missed out on so far—and hopefully find a husband along the way. But she certainly doesn’t plan to fall for the first man she meets.
Years in the cavalry provided Nathaniel Peak with more than his share of violence and adventure. That life behind him, he wants nothing more than to settle down in the beautiful Montana mountains and raise his own stock—in peace. The last thing he expects is the savagely wounded child who shows up in his barn. Nor the woman he comes to rely on for the girl’s care.
Hannah can’t help but fall in love with the brave Indian child who so desperately needs her, but no matter what, she can’t let herself fall for the man whose past choices go against everything she believes in. As the situation grows worse, Hannah and Nathaniel are forced to make a heart-rending decision to save the girl’s life. Little do they imagine, the choice they make could spell disaster for them all.

This Healing Journey is the seventh installment from the Heart of the Mountains series. I loved this book. I believe it is my favorite of the series. Hannah and Nathaniel’s story is so sweet. It has everything I love in a book – clean romance, mystery, suspense and adventure. There were some twists that kept me intrigued. I wanted to keep reading until the last page.
I give This Healing Journey a well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it. Well done, Misty, well done!
Great read!
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
This series has truly been an adventure. Everything that could be written in a historical western story-line, can be found in the Heart of the Mountains books. I “met” this author in Book 1 and followed the trials, new lives, new families and deaths found in stories about the wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. The travel to the Montana Territory and so many other places, along with visiting Indian tribes, small town citizens and extended families and friends, are the stories. Hannah found the love of her life while visiting a new-found family member. Nathaniel Peak was a neighbor and together he and Hannah treated a small child found in his barn. As the story unfolds, there are so many events and the faith they shared was always at the forefront. Thanks for a wonderful read and all the great stories found in this series.
It has been a real pleasure to read this series. Misty M. Beller does such a wonderful job describing the area, developing characters and having a plot that keeps you engaged. It was good to read this reunion between father and son and to see them develop a relationship. It is sad to know that we will not visit this family again.
A great conclusion to the series!
My rating is 4.5 stars
I’m a little sad that this is the end of the Heart of the Mountains series though it is is nice to have it all wrapped up in such a wonderful way. The series started with Simeon Grant and ends with the daughter he adopted at the end of this book.
Each of the previous books in the series followed the journey of someone into the Canadian wilderness. This Healing Journey breaks the pattern with the journey taking place in Montana. And with the journey being unintentional!
While there was an encounter that occurred which appeared to have significance, nothing ended up coming of it. I was a little surprised and had actually been watching to see where that was going. It didn’t, so I’m not quite sure why it was there unless it will appear in another series. Hmm.
I also felt disappointed that what Reuben did to help Hannah and Nathaniel at the end was not explained. That what he did worked was clear but I would have liked to know what it actually was.
As with the other books in this series, This Healing Journey has characters from the others and yet easily stands alone. Lovers of historical and Western fiction will enjoy reading about Hannah and Nathaniel.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
What a beautiful story of love! Great characters and a wonderful plot of love for a little girl that is a Indian and the trials that come with it. Magnificent read!
Was give a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This has been the best series I have read. Every book can be read alone but I highly recommend you read them all! In this series finale Nathaniel and Hannah share a love for an injured Indian girl that brings them together. Hannah is the baby from the first book of the series…so she brings it full circle. Not only a story about them but father and son also and seeing the lives of all the others from the series. A lot is happening in this book and I could not put it down. I’m sad it’s over but I’ll go back and read them all again!
This has been a phenomenal series. I have read these books and loved them. This one was just as eamazing as the others. The trials. The characters. Everything you want in a great historical book. This author is definitely one of my favorites now. She’s amazing!
It’s another action packed story from this author. No dull moments. And you won’t be able to do much else, because you won’t want to stop reading…
Their adventure’s are filled with drama and are pretty intense.
Great series, great book and a captivating storyline.
I received an ebook copy from the author. All thoughts are my own.
This Healing Journey was a wonderful ending and a beautiful wrap up to a great series! One of the many things I liked about this book was that if I had not read the other stories in the series, I still could have enjoyed this one. This author does such a good job of writing books that are part of a series, yet can be read as stand alone novels, too.
The main characters, Hannah and Nathaniel, were simply meant to be together. I liked them so much and enjoyed seeing their caring concern for the seriously injured child. This Healing Journey had adventure, danger, romance, and a good faith message. I enjoyed all of the books in the Heart of the Mountains series so much!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Hannah knows how to survive in the wilds of the Rockies! Nathaniel has been in the military but he is amazed at her skills. When she finds a little Indian girl whose foot has been caught in a trap, she can’t help but care for her. You will wonder what will happen next when she and Nathaniel are captured by the child’s Indian tribe. This final book in the Heart of the Mountains series also brings new healing and closure to one of the early books in the series. If you enjoy historical fiction set in Montana, you will love this book! I received a complimentary e-book of This Healing Journey. This is my honest opinion.
What a great ending to a fantastic series. We get to see Hannah Grant all grown up and traveling with her mother and father, Simmon and Emma Grant to find Simmon’s son he left behind 30 years before. Reuben Scott and his wife Cathleen are just meeting their new neighbor, Nathaniel Peak when strangers approach his cabin. He has no idea how his life is about to change and neither does the beautiful young Hannah when she lays eyes on Nathaniel Peak.
This story gives us Simmon Grant’s past story and future story where his daughter Hannah is all grown up and he travels the long distance to find his son. We get a combination story from not only The Heart of The Mountains series but also Mountain Dreams series. The two merge and we get to visit old friends and meet new ones. There are dangers they face and struggles to pray through and with God’s love Hannah finds her purpose and her future with Nathaniel.
I loved both of these series and all the characters in them and to get this book that gives us closure for Reuben and Simmon and also to see Hannah grown and finding her own HEA is a true joy. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I love everything this author writes. She takes me back in time and gives me a visual through her words to where I am there in the 1800’s with the pioneers that settled these places. This book is so good and I loved it. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful historical fiction taking place in the mountains of the American Frontier. The story of Nathaniel and Hannah is excellent. Fascinating time period. Very well written. I have enjoyed this entire series about the mountains of America and how they were settled and by whom. Wonderful reading. Highly recommend. I received an advance reader copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
Any book by this author is so worth reading. Her stories and the writing are absolutely page turners. Live this author
