While Rose recovers from a broken heart, she finds herself at odds with her sister–and business partner–Violet. Rose buries herself in her landscaping work, but becomes worried when her employee and friend, Bruce Wayne Decker, goes missing.
In the meantime, Fenton County assistant D.A., Mason Deveraux has been patiently waiting to begin a relationship with Rose, but she realizes she needs to … needs to confront the demons of her past before she can embrace a new future. She needs to find out the truth about her birth mother.
But her past isn’t her only demon. An undercurrent of tension has been spreading through Henryetta, Arkansas since drug lord, Daniel Crocker’s arrest six months ago. Still, she’s not prepared for a nightmare come true: Crocker’s escape from prison. Crocker carries a grudge and he’s determined to make Rose pay, but he plays a game of cat and mouse, forcing Mason and the Fenton County Sheriff’s department to hide Rose on her birth mother’s farm. But will it be enough to save her?

The Suspense! Daniel Crocker breaks out of jail and he has one goal, finish what he started with Rose.
Each page keeps you on the edge of your seat not wanting to put the book down. Between the suspense of if Crocker will find Rose to love on how Mason and Rose’s relationship blossoms. This has been the most suspenseful out of the series so far and I feel the best one yet. They just keep getting better and better.
I don’t want this series to ever end.
Love this series
Loved the whole series
This book is ACTION PACKED! Now that Rose is single, she starts to think about Mason in a different way. But of course things are never very simple for Rose…Enter escaped crazed maniac Daniel Crocker. This book is the STEAMIEST yet in the Rose series! I could not put down this page-turner! And in true Denise Grover Swank style, she sets up the drama for her next book in the end of this one! I can’t wait to read what comes next!
Love this one! Rose has finally realized her and Joe are over. I’m so glad she has Mason who has been not only waiting patiently for her but also for being a good friend. Mason and Rose’s relationship seems to be moving forward. As Crocker breaks out of jail, Rose and Mason are forced to go into hiding. The suspense was killing me as Crocker is after Rose and Mason.. LOVE this book!
I really am tired of Violet. I think she is acting like a spoiled brat. I am so glad to see the new Rose and look forward to her story continuing. I am a Team Mason girl so Joe’s story although heart broken am glad Rose is with Mason. I’m happy Rose has picked up some great friends and I love watching her story grow. If you haven’t read any if Denise’s book then grab one you will not be able to put down any of her books.
What a whirlwind of a book! How did Denise Grover Swank pack all of that excitement into one book?! I’m totally loving how Rose is growing throughout these books. She’s growing into herself and standing up for what she believes in. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and not afraid to stand up to her fears. The developments between her and Mason and her and Jonah and her and Joe… it’s like my little girl is growing up! #TeamMason in this book!
In Thirty One and a Half Regrets, Rose dives deeper into her new landscaping business with her sister Violet, and her wonderful friendship with Bruce Wayne blossoms. This was such a great book jam packed with action and suspense! Rose is still dealing with the emotions of her breakup with Joe, but has grown leaps and bounds from the timid girl we saw in the first book. This new found confidence allows her to stand up to the criminals of the Fenton County underworld. Rose discovers more about her background and family history that has led her where she is today. I loved reading about Rose’s past, and all of the discoveries in this book were so special in their own way! This series truly gets better and better with each book.
I loved the Rose Gardner series
This is one of my favorite authors! I truly have enjoyed everything I have read of hers. She writes aboutt strong women who are still feminine and caring, smart and sexy.
Such a great well written book. You can’t go wrong with any of Denise’s books. She is a fantastic writer. Excited for the next book in the series.
We see Rose moving out of her comfort zone in this book. She’s starting to take control of her life and moving into a new could be relationship with Mason. This book is full of mystery and the return of a creepy character. This book keeps you on your toes! Defiantly a page turner!
Thirty-One and a Half Regrets is another great book in the Rose Gardner Mysteries. In this book, we get to see how Rose is recovering from her previous relationship and what trouble follows her in this book.
Rose and Violet’s business is flourishing but their relationship is becoming more strained. Violet is becoming less likable and comes off as very selfish and cruel to Rose. I am glad that Rose is standing up to Violet and I hope she continues to be strong with the people in her life that try to control her.
Rose is working on getting over Joe and moving forward with her life. Mason is playing an even bigger role in her life and things are heating up between them. Joe, on the other hand, is running for political office and is miserable with his life. Hilary is back in his life and she is also a very unpleasant person.
On the mystery side of the story, Daniel Crocker has escaped and is after Rose. He will stop at nothing to get to her and possibly has help from a person or people that work in law enforcement. In this book, we see Mason and Rose on the run from Daniel and unsure of who they can and cannot trust. This was another exciting book by Denise and I cannot wait to read the next one!
I really enjoyed Thirty-one and a Half Regrets. There was so much action I could not put the book down. I am so happy to see Rose’s growth from her heartbreak from Thirty and a Half Excuses. I love Rose and Neely Kate’s friendship. I am excited to see what the next book has in store for Rose and how Joe’s new story line comes into play in Rose’s life.
