Falling for your best friend’s sister has never felt so bad yet so damn right. From USA Today Bestselling author BJ Harvey comes the third and final standalone in the Chance series, this time it’s the much anticipated story of Drew and Ashley.***I have a long history of acting first and thinking it through later. In fact, I’m the definition of a screw up. Case in point – I’m having a baby with a … – I’m having a baby with a woman I can’t stand, my ex is now my best friend’s wife, and I’m in love with a woman I can never have.
My biggest secret is falling for my best friend’s sister twelve years ago.
My biggest mistake is thinking I could live without her.
And now my biggest regret is the look on her face the moment I tell everyone I’m already married to the woman they hate most.

Third Strike is my favourite book of this series. I’m so glad I finally caught up, and Drew’s story was the one I was waiting for since One Shot. I was not disappointed.
BJ threw me for a loop right at the start, with that damned revelation in the prologue. We then get Drew and Ashley’s story which spans over a very long period of time. I really liked these two together, even though a lot of the time I wanted to tell them just to speak up to the others around them *ahem, Millen* and get past the fears holding them back.
Drew sure does go through an awful lot in this book, and even though he makes some silly choices at times, he has a good heart. He’s really just a little bit misguided.
There is one particular who character who makes an appearance in this book who I absolutely despise. I hate them with a passion. They play into a huge part of the storyline as well, and I was very intrigued as to how Drews situation with them came about.
I really enjoyed the ride that this book takes you on, through all the ups and downs of Drews life so far. The ending also quite surprised me, but it was quite fitting after everything that had happened. These two are probably the most relatable characters for me, and it was great to finish out the series on their book. Definitely recommend.
BJ Harvey has written a beautiful conclusion to a wonderful series!
If you know me, you know that one of my all time favourite tropes is that of a best friends sister. This novel not only captured my attention because of that, but for so many other reasons. I mean, take a look at that stunning cover, it is gorgeous.
After I finally got over my obsession with the synopsis and the cover, I was able to start reading the novel. When I dug into the novel, I fell in love! Drew and Ashley are two characters who will completely captivate your attention. They have such a beautiful connection and chemistry, that it is impossible to not root for their relationship.
This book had me going through all the emotions and feelings. Angst, love, sadness, and happiness. It kept me constantly starting at my screen, dying to figure out what was going to happen next.
4.5/5 Stars!
ARC received for an honest review
I have been impatiently awaiting the arrive of Third Strike, and Ms Harvey has not disappointed.
If you have read the previous two books, you will remember Drew and Ashley – Millen’s best friend and his sister.
Firstly, if you have read my One Shot review, you will remember that I was not a fan of Millen – and I didn’t get 10% into this book before he was pissing me off again.
But I digress – Drew and Ashley.
Theirs is a story that spans a decade, and spanned the whole range of my emotions.
Drew’s life is all kinds of messed up, and there are people in his life that I just want to throat punch. I am sure you will too when you get reading.
This book is such a heartbreaking, emotional rollercoaster of a story. I may have shed a tear or two as I was reading.
I don’t want to give anything away, as you need to feel the rush, the anger, the hurt, the love all for yourself.
I am going to miss this gang now that the series is over.

This book is so good! I did not want to put it down. This love story spans for longer than a decade and you do not want to miss a thing. An emotionally beautiful ending to this book had my eyes watering. Definitely worth the read.
This was the GREATEST ‘best friend’s sister” book I have EVER read!!!
New to me author! Ok so I listened to this book in one day at work. I was pulled in because I love the narrators voice and was told that this would be a good one…. It was not a good one. It was freaking awesome. I can not even come up with a word for how great it was to me. This was the story of a man that made some really stupid mistakes, but they came from a misguided sense of loyalty. Drew was raised by his mom and had no other family. It always seemed like there was something else to kick him down. There were so many great moments in this book! I cried more times that I care to admit…. and then by the end I was full on ugly crying! I cried happy tears…. I cried sad tears…. I cried sexually frustrated tears! I cried ALL THE TEARS!!! I went into this book with no knowledge of anything in it other than I love the male narrator so I was not at all prepared for the angst and emotional reaction I was going to have to it. This was a beautiful story of never giving up, there as so much heart in this story. I literally felt raw after I was done…. and here I am 8 hours later and I am still feeling emotionally drained! It took me for a ride with all the highs and lows! I am so glad that I listened to the recommendation because I feel like I have honestly found a total gem with this book and I am going to be looking into more books by BJ Harvey because I am hooked now. I can see myself listening to this book over and over…. and reading it too… I want to find some time to read it because I just KNOW that there are some passages that I want to highlight! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would… this is absolutely in the category of “WTF did I just read?!?!?!” I would recommend that everyone one ONE-CLICK this book RFN! And if you like audio add that too!!! It is SO worth it!!!
What a wonderful book. Queue emotional rollercoaster!!! Going from laughing to sobbing is just what a perfect book is all about! I need to go back and read the other 2 books now. I loved this book so much, I could not put it down. Totally hooked on B.J Harvey now! Bring on more great books!!
“Forever and Always”….Gahhh! I have loved each of the books in this series, but Drew and Ash stole my heart. I am a sucker for a forbidden read and this one had me hooked from page one. Drew is Millen’s best friend. Ash is Millen’s little sister. Drew knows he shouldn’t want her, but he does. The irony is she wants him too. I felt every emotion the MC’s experienced…the longing, the doubt, the joy, the pain, the hope and the love. I was flat out ugly crying by the end and loved every minute of it. BJ Harvey, took me on the best kind of ride. The story of Drew and Ash is a twisty, turning, angsty one and I enjoyed every real, raw moment.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This series has been one fantastic roller coaster after another.
I was smitten with Drew since the first book and he may have had issues and reasons for being the way he was but he had his reasons. I mean, seriously you’re really in a pickle if you get an ultimatum, either family or love and Drew had no choice but to pick family because the Ross’s have always been like a family to him and Millen like a true brother. You really don’t know if you should or could cross the line when it comes to your best friend’s little sister. But sometimes love conquers all.
To have to have been put in a position of not knowing right from wrong or choosing right from wrong, it just leaves you completely shattered. This was my favorite book in the series and it stole my heart because of all the emotions and heartache Ash and Drew went through, it was just heartbreaking. They enjoyed their time together and never put a label on their “relationship” because they knew they couldn’t. Ash was the bigger person in this story and I give her props for it. For as much as it hurt her and she loved Drew with all her heart, she knew what she had to do even if it broke her heart.
Lots of ups and downs and Drew really took the brunt of it all because he’s the ONLY one who seemed to always find himself in situations that he later couldn’t see himself out of. It killed me that he did this, but some of them were unintentional and just happened.
The end question is, can Ash and Drew get past all that has gotten in their way and live an HEA or will there always be obstacles and/or people in the way of their happiness?
Oh my achy little heart couldn’t take anymore. I loved how the author gave us all the insight on how things developed between Drew and Ash in this story and didn’t leave us wondering how it all became of their non-relationship to begin with.
This is totally a book worth your time, trust me this series will stick to you because all the characters are infuriatingly lovable.
Sometimes it’s best to read a book in bed , in the dark, then you don’t get those weird looks from the hubby. You know the ones when you’re laughing, then crying, and sobbing…..yes, this is that kind of book. And I loved every word!! Drew and Ashley’s story is my favorite in the Chances Series by B.J.Harvey. These two have bee in love for years and since Drew is Ashley’s brother Millen’s best friend, he feels he cant act on it. They dance around this intense attraction, through all sorts of family events, holidays, etc. These two are so well written, you see the incredible growth and maturing of both couples, feel the heartbreak, my emotions were a rollercoaster!! I started and finished it in one sitting, no way was I putting this one down. I’m so sad this series is over but so glad for these 3 couples to get their HEA. Great Read

To really understand the events and get the full effect of this story, you do need to read the previous two books. Drew we first met in book one, he is Millen’s best friend and he has a bit of a secret; he has been in love with Millen’s baby sister since he first met her years ago. Millen warned Drew off, but even knowing that, Drew and Ash couldn’t resist the pull. Now finally Drew has decided after waiting all these years he was going to make sure that Ash knew that she was his, that is until once again Lana ruins those plans.
This story was freaking brutal! The twists and turns that this takes was like a freaking roller coaster and you just had to hold on. I think this story covered all the bases that a story could cover; death, baby being born, lost love, second chances….. I think the only thing that didn’t pop up was a fire followed by a sexy fireman. I will say there was one thing about this story that completely infuriated me, but I will not let my opinion on a certain matter reflect my rating. I give this 5 stars as this read really did pull out all the feels!

Drew is Millen’s bestie and Ashley is Millen’s baby sister. The pair have been in love for over a decade but have kept it a secret the entire time for want of not hurting Millen. Drew has caused a mess though, all of it involving Lana; the woman who tried breaking Millen and Kenzie up in book one, and now she has her claws into Drew. After the messes he’s caused previously, will Millen be able to forgive Drew this third indiscretion or will Drew be too late to give things a go with Ashley once Lana has finished meddling?
I think this one might be my favourite of the series. Some twists, plenty of drama and angst and this was a really good read. I give 5 stars for this final book of the series.
This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and is Drew and Ashley’s turn. This author does a brilliant job in penning this story, as we find out that Drew is nothing like the cocky, and arrogant bad boy he portrays in previous books. Ashley is his best friends’ sister, and their love is forbidden, yet neither of them can deny their feelings. This is a beautifully written powerful story, which is filled with angst, humor, emotion, heartbreak, twists, and love. I was completely enthralled throughout this page turner, and I cannot wait to read more form this exceedingly talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
OMG I can’t believe this is the last book in the series. I could not wait to read this book because Drew captured my heart since book one. I knew there was a reason why he was the way he was but I never imagined what went down because I just figured he was an arsehole for no reason. Why he acted so weird around Ashley. I mean he and Millen are best friends and Ashley is Millen’s sister so I thought he would be cool to Ashley but he acted weird around her and to find out that he loved her all those years was amazing!
The journey Drew and Ashley went on through the years really broke my heart. Ashley loved Drew and she held back just like Drew did. Only Drew went on to get in a relationship that he hated and things went down that almost broke him. Thank God Ashley was their for him because he needed someone to be strong for him. Their love story has lasted 12 years and the ups and downs they go through was worth it in the end. When they finally come together as a couple was amazing and made me cry. I wanted more of them because this story was so amazing!
Well I don’t know how it is possible but she did it. I didn’t think I could dislike Drew anymore than I had from the 2 books, but I certainly did. I struggled with how he was gonna deserve his HEA with Ash with all the crap he pulled.
With all that said OMG what an amazing book. Props to the author for making you despise someone soooo much that you really just want to be the one punching them and asking what is wrong with them. I wanted to hate Ashley for everything she allowed herself to go through but her faith that Drew would be who she needed in the end was something we can honestly learn from.
People change, we grow and if we are lucky enough we have someone to stand by us and love us through it all
This is one highly emotional read that had me from the
very first word.
The plot in this second chance book is definitely not what
I expected. The main characters really had there lives go through
a ringer
To find out what I mean you will have to read it for yourself.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Drew knew from the moment that he saw Ashley that he wanted her and she felt the same. The only problem was that it was his best friend’s little sister. Ashley didn’t care about that all she knew is that she had strong feelings for him and hoped he felt the same. Over the years though Drew and Ashley have been through a lot but do they what it takes to make it last?
I was completely drawn in from the very beginning. Drew and Ashley had chemistry from their very first meeting. I loved seeing how their relationship played out over the years and what lengths that they had to go through. I really didn’t want this story to end at all!!!
This is the one I have been waiting for in this series and BJ Harvey certainly didn’t disappoint me even though she made me work for this HEA. This book is full of angst.
We have met Drew in the previous books, each previous glimpse you have wanted to slap him for stupidity. I honestly wasn’t sure I would like Drew but I still wanted to read his story, BUT he grew on me and embedded himself in my heart. He has been in love with Ashley since he met her, but she was off limits. She’s his best friends sister! Over the years they have been unable to deny their feelings and they secretly forged a relationship.
As the years have gone on they need to see if they can get over all the obstacles and people put in front of them. Can they ever find their happy ending or is there just too much pain?
I will warn you. You will need alcohol and will need to pad your walls so you don’t damage your kindle when you get the urge to throw it across the room in frustration at the idiotic decisions and actions.
This was my favourite from the Chances Series
Third Strike is the third book in the series and it is Drew and Ashley’s story.
Drew and Ashley’s journey was bumpy, a little angsty and spanned over a decade. I loved them together. This was a great read and series!
This story is told from Drew’s POV. As a huge fan of the male POV, this book did not disappoint. I was hooked from the beginning. Drew is in love with his best friend’s sister. Drew and Ash have great chemistry. Their relationship evolves over the the years, but there are many obstacles, the least of which is Ash’s brother. The story flows well and the pace is good. This was a very satisfying read.
