It could have been just an innocent crush. Something guiltless and fleeting. But Luke spends every day with Marcus; they talk, touch and dance together, they create and perform together. They know each other inside out. As a consequence, Luke has been in love with his very much taken choreographer for years. Seeing Marcus and his partner Liam together has become increasingly painful, and Luke … needs to leave. His dancing career is nearing an end anyway. He will start university, reinvent himself, forget Marcus and find happiness elsewhere.
Except Marcus loves him back. And Liam knows. Liam’s dark eyes and his imposing silhouette begin haunting Luke’s dreams. Drowning in both lust and sadness, Luke is swept into a passionate triangle with two men who couldn’t be more different. Suddenly, instead of fear or caution, there’s just a mind-numbing desire for more.

Lucas has feelings for Marcus, but he’s with Liam. Liam sees the love that Marcus has for Lucas and just wants him to be happy. Liam knows that if he and Marcus can spend some time with Lucas, they could prove to him just how much they want him. I loved the connection between Marcus and Liam and then Lucas and Marcus, leaving a connection to be formed between Lucas and Liam which led me to want a little bit more with Liam and Lucas while their feelings for each other grew instead of the insta-love/connection that happened. The bedroom scenes were hot and steamy. No complaints there. Liam is fantastic and has to be my favorite of the three. If you’re looking at this book, I do highly recommend starting at the beginning with “The Other Book” as the characters do cross over and/or are mentioned, and the storyline is ongoing. While I did get through this book rather quickly, and it was very well written, there was just a little something that was missing for me that kept me from totally loving it. All in all, I do recommend giving this one a try and I look forward to Roe Horvath’s next book.
To be honest, I really don’t know of another author who can reliably do what Mr. Horvat does: delivering blazing hot scenes and physical chemistry that leave you blushing, while simultaneously creating and developing a deep connection between characters filled with raw, palpable emotions. So often it seems like it’s one or the other, so with every release in Those Other Books series, I find myself increasingly impressed that this author can straddle the divide.
The Third One is a MMM romance that involves a decade-long partnership adding a third to their relationship, home, and hearts. I’m not usually one to gravitate toward MMM/ throuple romances because they seem to get stuck on the sex scenes and forget the relationship, but as I said before, this author gets that exception, and I have to say The Third One is my favorite yet in this series. I liked that each character was developed and explored, exposing the range of emotions and vulnerabilities they experienced. I never felt like Luke was a third wheel, but a third piece. I also liked that while the relationship between Luke, Marcus, and Liam moved toward commitment quickly, it felt strong and substantial rather than rushed. As always, the characters and relationship were only highlighted by the smooth, talented writing that brought the scenes and feelings to life. If you like heat as much as you like strong, vivid connections between characters, I cannot recommend The Third One or this entire series enough.
This was a lovely, sexy romance. Liam and Marcus had a strong commitment to each other, but they wanted to make that connection even better by adding Luke. Luke already loved Marcus, which caused him so much guilt, and he had a difficult time accepting that Liam would be willing to allow him into their relationship. There were some tears, but this was much less angsty than I expected. I found all three men to be caring and lovable, and I was rooting for this threesome from the start. This is a very good installment in a series that I adore. Very well done!
I loved Third One. I thought Luke, Liam and Marcus were a great throuple. Honestly, it was super hot, very sexy, but I liked that there was story behind it and there were emotions and a great building of a fantastic relationship. It was a shorter story and it was fast-paced, like starting just a bit into the story and I liked it a lot. I definitely recommend this book.
Liam, Marcus, and Luke.
A sky-high intensity. My iPad melted in my hand. Not just a now and then intense, oh no, every line was an experience of overwhelming consuming intensity.
Liam and Marcus are partners like forever but since years Marcus heart also loves Luke, his beautiful unique dancer.
Luke is shattered, his eyes and heart follow Marcus everywhere, he loves him deeply but can never be with him. Luke is confused, every time his eyes meets Liam’s, Liam’s eyes are burning too. He has to distance himself and quit his job. Liam doesn’t let him, he only holds him closer.
OMG, what a scorching story.
The loooooonging was so incredibly delicious, I hold my breath until I had to breathe before I passed out.
-“He thinks it’s wrong,” Marcus whispered.-
The three of them together was like watching art, gracefully, passionate, sensual, emotional and beautiful art.
“The mundane and necessary things in life, the burdens—they fell on Liam like a pile of bricks.”
Three amazingly beautiful bodies and souls together, worshipping, wowww just wowww.
Highly recommended
Loved this read – so passionate and so sexy
OMG! This book is super HOT!! I also really enjoyed the storyline, the romance, the MMM characters. This book did a great job in depicting the emotional aspect of romantic relationship as well as the loyalty of great friends. I can’t say enough about the sex scenes. They were off the chart steaming hot, just like I love them! Onto her next book, I can’t get enough of this series!!!
Amazing, Erotic, Sensual and Romantic.
I have loved every book I’ve read by Roe Horvat. Third One is a beautifully written story that is smoking hot but so sensual and so romantic. It’s really a bit of a slow burn in that Luke, Liam and Marcus don’t get together as a throuple until about half way through the story. But there are plenty of hot scenes before that.
Luke has been in love with Marcus for a long time but he knows that he can never have him. And then something happens that Luke had only ever imagined in his dreams. He is both ecstatic and afraid when he learns that both Marcus and Liam want him as a third in their relationship.
I love how this book has such a wonderfully touching romance along with all of the hot sexy time. The sex is plentiful and yet the romance was almost always first in my mind as I read this. Don’t get me wrong, the sex scenes were beautifully written and I didn’t skip a one , but I loved how the feelings that Luke, Liam and Marcus had for each other radiated off of the pages.
Roe Horvat has written another wonderful book and I’m a huge fan of his writing.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Another mesmerizing, steamy romance in this brilliant series. We’ve caught intriguing glimpses of all three characters in the preceding books in this series and I’ve been looking forward to their story immensely!
At the start, all three MC’s are feeling somewhat despondent and fearful, not daring to believe in a HEA for all of them together. Luke especially seems to feel somehow a little less than Marcus and Liam, and is resentful of Liam at first. I adored Liam, who’s so strong and careful of Luke’s feelings (and Marcus’ too of course), when they don’t know yet where they all stand. He’s as vulnerable as the other two, but tries so hard to stay strong and understanding and accepting of the needs of both his lovers. Like with all the other books in this series, the heat is deliciously intense, and perfectly in tune with the emotional connection between Luke, Marcus and Liam.
I love Roe Horvat’s writing style, how lyrical and spellbinding it is and how wonderfully heartfelt almost every word reads. He’s amazing at drawing the reader in by creating all these larger than life feelings. The love that draws these three men together, the depth of their feelings for each other is incredibly powerful and utterly compellingly and beautifully worded.
My only complaint here is that it was over too soon. I’d have loved to been drawn into the world of Luke, Marcus and Liam for just a while longer.
A beautiful romance.
This was my first read from Roe Horvat, and I’ll definitely be looking for more.
The story was well written, characters were realistic and there was a fair share of steamy bits. I really enjoyed the way the author managed the three characters, displayed their emotions and gave them their own individuality.

Those Other Books are just…steamy as heck…that they certainly are. I mean knowing you have a M/M/M story coming, it’s not unexpected. What was unexpected was the emotion that rolled around between all of them. Was it easy? Love never really is, is it? Falling in love with someone you can’t have is always difficult. Difficult decisions needed to be made. But what if….what if it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Was it a seamless story? Not necessarily…I had a hard time imagining how all this panned out over the years….but in the end, I had a satisfactory ending to what could have been a truly messy story.
Roe Horvat once again delivered a beautifully written story about men finding their perfect happy-ever-after. The fact that he also managed to push me out of my reading funk is a very welcome bonus. Not for the first time I highly recommend this book by a wonderful and favourite author.
It’s not often that an author manages to not only blownme away with a story, but also make me enjoy every single word and phrase. The Third One is an example of a book where the emotions are portrayed with amazing precision and with absolutely beautiful words! It’s all there on full display – the beauty, the rawness, the anguish, and you can almost touch it! Roe Horvat mastered the words and delivered a beautiful story of three beautifully imperfect men!
