When we were in high school together, I had a huge crush on Jackson Carter. He never even knew I existed. Fast forward seven years, and guess who’s back in our hometown? Yep. And he’s even hotter than ever. What’s more, now he’s noticed me. When my best friend sets me up with Jackson, I know the sparks are going to fly. But I’m also determined to stick to my third date rule: no nookie until … no nookie until we’ve gone out on three real dates.
Can I hold out that long, when this guy is everything I ever desired? And will Jackson think I’m worth the wait?
Time to find out.

Our heroine is going on a date with her high school crush. Will she break her third date rule?
This is the first book of a second chance romance. This book is short and introduces our characters. Considering the length, it does a great job as an intro and gives you enough character background to make it interesting. I enjoyed it quite a bit and am looking forward to the next one.
Recommended.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.
The storyline was good and the characters were interesting enough to keep my attention throughout the entire book!
Books 1-3 in the series talks about the the first 3 dates between Paige and Jackson. I enjoyed the read a lot. My only recommendation is to put these books together as 1. Reading book 1 alone or any of these books is like reading 1 chapter. Its impossible to give a favorable review of the books as separate because it’s not enough content but together you have a short story or novella.
I enjoy your writing. I liked reading Paige and Jackson’s story.
Crush is the first of a 3 part novella series from author Tessa Kent. Tessa Kent is a pen name for author Tawdra Kandle (if you haven’t read anything by Tawdra you need to recify that immediately). You may also have read books by Emma Fallon (also Tawdra) so you may be familiar to her writing style. Crush starts off the 3 part novella series with the backstory of how Paige and Jackson knew each other in high school and while she loved him from afar, he had zero idea she existed. Ah high school memories.
Anyway Paige accidentally meets up with Jackson through her friend Natalie, who has been handling some banking for him, and realizes her first crush is still very much active. This time however, he seems very interested in her too. Jackson wants to date Paige, but Paige has a third date rule. No funny business before the third date. Will Jackson be able to live by her new life rule?
Getting to know someone without the distractions of a physical relationship (though some good kissing is always welcome) can generate those deep connections we all strive to achieve. These novellas are a good social experiment in how we some times rush through the best parts of relationships to make it all about the sex. Getting to know someone on the deepest level not just a physical one.
A quick read that continues in the novellas Crave and Crescendo. Even though this (and the other 2) are relatively short they are not lacking in any detail, content or heat factor. Great start to a this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy.
Do you remember your HS crush and how you thought you’d feel if he would just see you, talk to you? Well, Paige Douglas is going to get a chance with her crush when Jackson Carter comes back to town. This is a delightful look at their meeting again and going out for the first time. You feel the chemistry between the two and understand Paige’s feelings about keeping to her 3rd date rule. Although this is a short vignette and just the beginning of Paige and Jackson’s tale, it is an engaging read which will leave you anxious for the next part of their story. If you are looking for something quick but interesting and fun to read, which promises more, then this is the romance serial for you.
