The USA Today Bestselling Dark Romance Series
A brilliantly dark, depraved and sensual romance that will have you begging for more!! 5 stars! Miss Petite Brunette Book Blog
From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes the third book in the Dark Romance series, Goddess Isles
“There was hate once. Hate born from dangerous attraction and fate’s cruel design.
There was love once. Love … was love once. Love destined to kill us if we didn’t surrender to our war.”
Eleanor Grace suffers an awful affliction. She’s falling for a man who doesn’t deserve her affection or her forgiveness. But there is no cure, so she does something reckless, stupid—she throws safety to the sea and leaps into danger.
Sully Sinclair suffers the same affliction. He’s falling for a goddess who will never earn his trust or his heart if he can help it. However, he wasn’t prepared for the lengths she’d go. How far she’d push to either stop such a bond or kill them both trying.
An elixir given to a monster.
A goddess running for her life.
An ending neither of them can survive.

I wonder if I will ever read a book in this series where I’m not left heartbroken and aching for the next book. I don’t think so but that’s what makes this series so addictive!
After the end of book two, Twice a Wish, the readers were left with a pretty big cliffhanger and I must say the conclusion to it did not disappoint at all. It was everything I imagined it would be and way more.
I must say that not a lot happened in this third book. I don’t mean this in a negative way at all. It was more about Eleanor and Sully’s growing relationship, their lack of trust in each other but wanting to find that trust and just getting to know each other more.
Of course the romance and sex scenes did not disappoint. Duh it’s a book by Pepper Winters so that was not surprising in the least. All those scenes were so fucking steamy and just makes you need a cool drink and lots of self-fanning.
The book ended in another cliffhanger. In my opinion it wasn’t as major a cliffhanger as the previous book ended with but still a pretty big one that it makes me want the next book as soon as possible because I think the story and danger is going to pick up a notch. I’m sort of scared for it all but at the same time I also can’t wait. That’s the power that Pepper Winters has with her books!
OMG!!!! This book was so freaking good!! That ending has about broken my freaking heart !! I feel so so much pain for Sully and his upbringing! Ellie.. still love her so much!! Drake I hope dies a painful slow death !! There is so much !! Seriously my heart hurts right now!!
“I’ve been sullied by Sully…in every possible way. Mentally, physically, emotionally.”
You guys. So much happens in this third installment of the Goddess Isles series. So many questions are answered finally that I was literally dying to know.
“I’d gambled with fate and lost. I’d asked for something I could never survive. And she’d been delivered straight from my fantasies and directly into my nightmares.”
More drama and intensity. Some of the hottest sex ever happens! Woo Hoo!
We meet some “villains” so to speak. In this book.
You guys. Without spoiling anything.. just … so much happens. Sparks fly. Good or bad? Who knows.
And Skittles. My love. I wish she was mine.
Rating:
Great book, terrific cliffhanger!
Wow again! Pepper Winters is great at creating some killer storylines and fantastic cliffhangers. I am just glad that I am not reading these as they come out so I don’t have to wait months to start the next one. Sully is still the God of the island in this book and still has his Goddesses that he bought from sex traffickers. In this book we find that all is not as rosy for these Goddesses as Sully would like to think.
In the first book, he told Eleanor that all the women on the island are happy to be there and most of them are in love with him. It turns out they aren’t as happy as they pretend to be, they have just been making the best of the four years he makes each of them stay. Also they act like they are in love with him because they want his money and they want to be equal partners with him, but they don’t really have feelings for him.
The romance in this book is Sizzling hot and not always due to the Euphoria elixir. Sully has had trouble in the past resisting Eleanor and he gets even worse in this book. Though every time I think he is going to turn into a better person, he does something that shows he hasn’t changed a bit. Pepper Winters sure can create a Hero you love to hate and hate to love.
Those of you who don’t like the type of books where men are misogynistic and cruel, should definitely not read this series. Because Sully is a bit crazy. He loves animals and does everything he can to protect them and runs an animal sanctuary for animals that were tested on by various drug, make-up and skin care companies.
Sully hates to see an animal in a cage, but doesn’t mind putting a woman in a cage for a punishment. He doesn’t see anything wrong with owning women and he figures if humans can put animals in cages, they aren’t above being caged themselves. The problem with this (well one of my problems with this) is that he doesn’t even know if these women ever did anything to animals. Like Eleanor, who is an animal lover and vegetarian.
Anyway, this series brings up a lot of emotions and feelings, which is one reason I like it so much. Every time I want something to happen, the opposite happens. I think Eleanor is definitely a fool for falling for Sully, but she is determined. She fights him as much as she likes him and is constantly trying to make him better. He can’t really go anywhere but up. The ending was another shocking scenario, like the last two books and I am diving right in to the next one.
READ. THIS. SERIES. It’s ahhhhhmazing!
I thought I was ready for this book, but don’t think I was as ready as I thought. It begins right where Twice A Wish left off. The first chapters had a desperate feeling of all consuming passion, an unrestrained desire, and an unsatisfying craving. I wasn’t sure if Eleanor should run away away from Sully or towards him at times. As the story continues, the passion is there but slowly turns into more. I’m going to say that Sully is becoming a favorite anti-hero.
Eleanor’s bravery shines, and she breaks Sully’s walls. I was so happy for this moment. But then I remembered that there were two more books to the series. I knew it was the calm before the storm and something bad was coming. Of course, there were dangers in more ways than one. It seemed that Sully and Eleanor could handle any obstacle thrown at them. Then boom shit (excuse my language) hit the fan and everything went spiraling down to a chaotic mess. I’m both excited and nervous about the following book. I’m a bit afraid of what’s coming up.
4.5 Holy smokes stars
Well we have hit the middle of the series and in true Pepper Winters fashion she has made me fall for Sully and Eleanor even with all of the pitfalls that my heart must endure.
What a roller coaster of emotions in this book. Lust, temptation, anger, fear, love, sadness and vengeance…..a little bit of a mixed bag to keep you rooted to your seat while you take the journey with Sully and Eleanor.
Truths and past truths alike are revealed and give way to some more layers that make up Sullivan Sinclair taking us to some darker places and times than the shores of Goddess Isles. I love the subtle connections that Pepper uses in this series to take you back to another place/time in a previous read weaving her works together.
Will the past find a way to take what has been found? Can Eleanor and Sully survive the only family he has left? Get ready for Fourth a Lie because I have a feeling we are going to find out.
5* Revenge Stars
The push and pull between Sully and Eleanor is at an all-time high. They are two magnets which attract but also repel. Emotions run deep and revenge is bittersweet. Hold on tight as the journey will be suspenseful, angsty and very sexy. It is all consuming.
And now we have the third book in the Goddess Isles series, the exotic and enthralling story of a fantasy peddler and his latest prize. And, this is Pepper at her best- sensual, devastating, entrancing, and unforgettable!
Like so many Pepper stories, the journey begins with a kidnapping. But, this is world unlike any we’ve ever seen- exotic, erotic, imaginative, and sensual. Our heroine Eleanor is abducted and sold to our anti-hero Sully by traffickers- transported away to his private island of sin (and cute animals) where she’s forced into an owned woman contract of prostitution, taking an elixir that consumes her mind and body. Despite being entirely powerless and at the mercy of a corrupt and depraved man, she’s no weakling- she’s got fire and strength in spades, and finds her power in subtle ways. And soon she starts to find some power in her dynamic with Sully- the mans he should abhor but who somehow has become the man she burns for.
The setting is unlike any other we’ve seen- Goddess Isles is a tropical haven for rich and depraved men, a place where they can fulfill their darkest fantasies with owned goddesses- women high on the mysterious elixir that makes them burn for their tormentors. And Sully is the lord of the island, the purveyor of paradise. And Eleanor was supposed to be just another acquisition- another goddess to add to his menagerie. As this series unfolds, though, we see that Eleanor can never just be his possession- she challenges everything that he thinks he knows, that he has made. With each book, we get deeper into the man that is Sully Sinclair- what has led to this hard, ruthless, arrogant, and possessive man. And that is the magic of Pepper Winters- a man who for all intents purposes is a monster, we find ourselves drawn to him- just as Eleanor is- against all reason. And by book 3, we start to see the vulnerable and lonely man beneath the bravado. The man Eleanor begins to expose, the man that she can perhaps heal if he’ll just let her.
This most certainly is not a series for the faint of heart- the premise of the series itself should tell you there are dark and triggering elements. Sully feels challenged by Eleanor, and he tries to break her. Even though she doesn’t fully break down, Sully doesn’t make it easy- for her, or for us to love him. But their chemistry is straight FIRE- intense, erotic. Peppers write erotic and sensual dark romance like no other – you know you are going to get some HOT steamy times, passionate couplings full of unbridled passion and conflicted emotions. Raw lust, explosive intensity, and so many heart wrenching emotions combined.
By the end of the third book, you’ll be desperate, frustrated, enamored, and heartbroken- Sully and Eleanor have a long road ahead, and you know that it will not be easy. There love is a veritable hurricane, and the storm is still raging. But it is a story that is enthralling to the very last, an epic love story full of passion, pain, heartbreak, and redemption. My favorite work from Pepper to date!
What. Did I. Just read?! The amount of flipflopping of emotions left me with whiplash. I love him. I hate him. I love her. I can’t trust her. It was an emotional rollercoaster and I knew something had to give. The tension was swelling and this couple were about to burst!
“…if you keep pushing me down this path, if you keep making me care…I’ll make you curse the very thought of me. I will destroy whatever faith you have in me. I will snuff out the very heart you’re trying to give me. I will do all that because love equals betrayal, and betrayal requires no mercy.”
Sully’s examples of love all ended with deceit and betrayal. His parents lied to his face. His brother was two-faced and played up the adoration in public and the horrendous abuse in private. Animals were special. They didn’t lie or cheat or try to be anything but the primal beings they were. They could be trusted. Their affection could be trusted. Eleanor’s love… not so much.
“You, Eleanor Grace, are something. You have the power to be everything. And that is why you’ll forever remain nothing.”
And yet, when he finally let his walls fall down… when he finally sees the truth after putting Eleanor through one of the strangest tests of love… it was frighteningly beautiful. Here was this man who was turned into a monster, who did monstrous things, who fought monstrous urges, and he found love. The kind of love that spoke through time, distance and denial. It was a living, breathing thing. It was volatile, destructive, wild, toxic and all-encompassing. Now that Sully has had a taste of what happiness is, there’s no way he’s letting Eleanor go.
“My greatest flaw is when I love…I love without end. I am overprotective of those I care about to the point of obsession. I go out of my way to protect them from everything—real threats and perceived. I’ve killed those I’ve tried to keep safe…purely from not being able to stop. I’ve killed those who have lied to me, double-crossed me, and betrayed those vulnerable in my care.”
However, happiness isn’t guaranteed and this is far from the end. I love how Pepper Winters has thoroughly messed with me. I was ready to bask in the glow of the twisted love Sully had discovered with Eleanor, but true danger is on the horizon and I have no idea where this story is going next. Lucky for me, I’ve already got book four prepped and ready to read!
Right now, I have no words to describe what I just read. Will try to think about writing some coherent thoughts later.
Omg!!! Can this series get any more exciting!! Paradise, nirvana, love and passion!! Finally coming to grips and loving!! And now the enemy!! I definitely need more!!!
The third book about Eleanor and Sully does not disappoint. We pick up where book 2 left off. The book is fast paced and action packed. There are also scorchingly steamy scenes. Sully is trying to find love and trust. Eleanor is trying everything to get Sully to understand what love and trust are. Sully has a brother who wants nothing more than to take everything from Sully.
Every page sucks you in due to the writing style. You can almost feel the humidity in the air and feel the ocean coolness. You can see the birds and animals that make up the tropical paradise. It definitely feels like you are on that Island with them.
Hands down, Third a Kiss is the hottest book of this series. We have learned so much in this book of what we speculated happened in the first and second book.
I couldn’t get enough of Sully and Eleanor. Even though they both have their issues (mainly Sully) they fit like a glove, they are undeniably perfect for each other.
I loved how Eleanor would break those damn walls that Sully had so high up that it was impossible for anyone to break, but Eleanor managed to break them. Their chemistry and attraction was so freaking hot that I felt like crawling into that book at times and actually seeing it in person.
For as much as Sully tried and tried to get Eleanor to hate him, she just couldn’t. She knew, she just knew that Sully was the man for her. She figured shit out that Sully never in a million years thought she would. Together Sully and Eleanor were like a tsunami waiting to happen!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and couldn’t get enough of Sully and Eleanor!
This series keeps on giving and giving. I am blown away, again. The cliffhanger is killer. I’m at a loss as to how Sully is going to get his HEA. I can’t wait for more of Pepper’s brilliance!
I feel like Sully is a complete drama queen with all of his angst and back and forth. Don’t get me wrong, I still liked the book. Eleanor was pretty steadfast and unwavering, even when she had doubts. With the ending of this book, I feel like Sully is back to sacrificing his happiness and choosing a path without including Eleanor, which is super frustrating. I’m hoping he gets his stuff together in the next book.
Reading is about making connections and I’m dealing with a boss who keeps changing their mind and not communicating so I really noticed that in Sully and it made me more irritated than normal, I think. Also, I don’t know where this series with go since there are two books left. I’m making this prediction when I say I think it may be too drawn out. We’ll see!
I love those birds!
Love all of Pepper Winters books. This was a smokin hot series.
This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Wow! This series is enthralling! The ANGST is REAL!!! The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat! You won’t be able to put it down! Definitely a must read series!
