Susanna and I should have nothing in common. But when we’re together, it’s…
Electric.
What are we supposed to do? Can we really make this work? I can’t give up my career. And I can’t ask her to move to California for me. All I know is, I want her in my life.

Oh Monica you have created another book boyfriend for me. I LOVE Cannon he is so sweet and shy but lord when it is time to get down to business that shyness goes out the window and his freaky side comes out.
Cannon is a professional Football player. His team is going overseas to London to play in an exhibition game. There is a honorary party for the team and Cannon goes to it but feels so out of place he wants to leave. That is until he sees this beautiful girl he has to know. He introduces himself to her and the night is about to change. Cannon and Lady Susanna feel the instant chemistry they take it a step further and decide to be intimate.
For one night Cannon can do because he lives in the states and she lives in London. No harm in that right? But one night turns into four and Cannon and Lady Susanna can’t keep their hands off of each other. They both know they have a short time together so they spend each day having fun and getting to know one another.
Can Cannon and Lady Susanna be together through the distance? Or will one of them break down and move to the states or to London? This is a great romance book with lot’s of steam that will have you needing wipers to wipe off your kindle! Hot Hot Hot!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man. Cannon is just EVERYTHING. I’m not sure I’ve swooned so hard over a book boyfriend. He and Susanna are actual dynamite. Like they are so hot and sexy together. Whew! And this book totally left me emotional in a bunch of places. This is a couple with a lot of heart and a lot of obstacles and you just want it all to work out. <3
I love Monica Murphy and this series.
Cannon and the 49ers are in London for an exhibition game for the NFL. He’s uncomfortable at a meet and greet and just wants to leave. Until he spots this pretty girl in the crowd. When she approaches him, he’s surprised that she seems to be flirting with him. He’s alright but he isn’t a Jason Tuttle… Turns out the girl is some type of nobility… and she wants to get out of the party just as much as he does.
The two embark on escaping and find that they really enjoy each other’s company. The only problem, Cannon leaves to go back to the US in a few days. So what’s happening between the two of them – it’s just a fling right? Cannon starts to develop feelings for the lovely Susanna and he thinks she had feeling for him too. But how can them make a long distance relationship work? Would it even work?
I loved Cannon and Susanna together. They were the perfect fit from the beginning. I loved how sweet Cannon was with her and how he helped her tune into her sexual side. It was a fun read and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I’m not a huge fan of Insta-Love (I personally like a buildup) but when it’s done right I’m on board and Thinking About You, the second book in the Forever Yours series, is a perfect example of this trope. This Sports Romance is super steamy and witty, the dialogue between Cannon and Susanna was smart and funny and these two had sexual chemistry that was combustive from the get go. We got a peek of their meet in the first book of this series and I was happy to finally read their side of it, told in dual POV. So if you’re in the mood for a fun, quick, and steamy love story, look no more!
Cannon Whittaker plays for the San Francisco 49ers and the team’s in London for an exhibition game at Wembley Stadium. The players were invited to a fancy welcoming party but he feels like an alien, so out of place, among the hoity-toity people attending. Cannon doesn’t like the appetizers, there’s only white wine to drink and he thinks everyone’s a snob. Except for the beautiful woman who catches him imitating someone he heard, talking about the “beastly” American players.
“I don’t know what I did to deserve his attention, but I’m going to revel in it for as long as I can.”
Lady Susanna, the daughter of the Earl of Harwood, is quite taken by the large and handsome football player. He’s unintentionally funny and they seem to hit it off. They decide to leave and have dinner elsewhere and before they realize it, they spend four amazing nights getting to know each other and having hot and steamy sex before Cannon has to return to the States. While Susanna is smitten by him, she knows the crass American player could never be a proper suitor; her mother would never approve, mainly because he’s…well, American. Her mother has very high and exact standards and takes their title very seriously, something Susanna has accepted as a given.
“If only he were a Brit. I could see myself falling love with him so easily.”
It’s been a long time since Cannon had a serious relationship; he gave up on them after a series of them broke his heart. While he’s had the occasional hookup, he knows that’s not what he wants either. And no one’s made him feel like he does with Susanna. But he knows his life is in the States and they come from two very different worlds. It would never work out, would it? Should they even try?
I love this sort of instant love that Cannon and Susanna have. They are almost complete opposites and yet seem so right together. Cannon is just this loveable teddy bear of a man. Susanna is held to a higher standards within her uptight family. I love how Cannon just brings out the softer side of Susanna. You can feel their love grow even through the distance that they face. Cannon and Susanna are just meant for each other. You will see once you read Thinking About You. I loved this one.
I have to admit that I have been in love with Tuttle since he was introduced in Just Friends. I didn’t think anyone could beat him for the title of best book boyfriend but after reading about Cannon, I have to say he was so close to knocking Tuttle off his thrown. Cannon is just one big yummy man candy. This as a great read and I can’t wait for Tucker’s story.
I read this book in one sitting! It such a quick, fun read!
Cannon immediately captured by heart. He was sweet but had a dirty mouth. Such lethal combination that is impossible not to fall in love with. He was instantly attracted to Lady Susana. She was also easy to love. Sweet and proper. She was not used to a man like him.
Even though the connection was instant, the fact that they lived in 2 countries made it difficult for them to try and make it last. But I was rooting for them the entire time. This book gave me all the feels! The fact that Cannon admitted he always fell hard for girls made me love him even more. There’s something great about the fact that the man isn’t afraid to admit he’s head over heels for a girl.
I loved this book so much. Absolutely a 5 star read for me.
3 1/2 stars
Cannon and Susanna meet at a party when he is in London with his football team to play an exhibition game. They hang out all evening, and end up spending the night together. Neither wants their time together to end, and after his 4 day stay they decide to give a long distance relationship a try.
The two are so cute together. He his huge and a little crude, she is tiny and proper and petite, but they bring out the best in each other. Unfortunately living on different continents makes things difficult. Susanna’s mother, nicknamed Dragon Lady by Susanna and her best friend Evie, is constantly giving Susanna a hard time about all of her life choices, too, so she is anxious about Cannon meeting her.
When Susanna is injured, Cannon flies to London to be with her and take care of her. Things are going well, but then it just ends. They are having a conversation, make a big decision (I won’t spoil it) and then Susanna talks about going to tell her family and anticipating their reactions. After our brief encounters with her parents, I was so excited to see how this played out! But after Cannon and Susanna’s conversation about it, the book ends. That was very disappointing. Where is the rest of the story? Even the epilogue doesn’t give any information about what happened with her family.
Overall, a really cute, sweet read about two people falling in love. Just be prepared for the abrupt ending.
A sweet yet predictable page turner that you can’t help but fall in love with. I love how the story is written in dual point of views! I love this author and can’t wait to see what we get next from her.
3.75 stars–THINKING ABOUT YOU is the second instalment in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, adult FOREVER YOUR erotic, romance series. This is twenty-five year old, San Francisco 49ers football player Cannon Whittaker, and twenty-three year old, part time art gallery worker, Britain’s Lady Susanna Sumner’s story line. THINKING ABOUT YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. FOREVER YOURS series is a spin-off from the author’s FRIENDS series.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Cannon and Susanna) THINKING ABOUT YOU follows the building relationship between twenty-five year old, San Francisco 49ers football player Cannon Whittaker, and twenty-three year old, part time art gallery worker, Britain’s Lady Susanna Sumner. When the San Francisco 49ers are invited to Britain for an exhibition game at Wembley Stadium, all bets are off when our hero meets the woman with whom he will fall in love. Four days of sight-seeing and $ex ends with tearful goodbyes, and the possibility of a long distance romance. What ensues is the quick building relationship and romance between Susanna and Cannon, as they must come to terms with their plans for a future-together or alone.
The relationship between Cannon and Susanna is quick to develop; an insta-lust/love romance that is dampened by the scheduled departure of our story line hero, a departure that comes with promises of more including face-time escapades and sexting. Cannon likes to talk dirty both in and out of the bedroom. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to Cannon’s 49ers’ teammates Tucker McCloud, and quarterback Jordan Tuttle and his girlfriend Amanda (You Promised Me Forever #1) as well as Susanna’s brother George; their parents Lord and Lady Harwood, George’s co-worker Priscilla, and Susanna’s best friend Evie.
THINKING ABOUT YOU is an uplifting and inspiring story line. The premise is imaginative and moving: the characters are sassy and flirty; the romance is seductive and captivating. The conflict is limited to distance and commitments.
Monica Murphy clearly knows how to write about these sexy footballers of hers. Thinking About You is about Cannon Whitaker, teammate to Jordan Tuttle, and his story is just so wonderful. I love that his hesitance to get involved long-distance with Lady Susanna Sumner did not stop him one bit. These two have chemistry from the start with his American bigger than life persona strangely charming to the waif-life Brit. They engage in witty banter that is just a prelude to the passion that ultimately share both in and out of the sheets, with Susanna breaking out of her prim and proper shell all too happily.
Throwing caution to the wind, and defying her stodgy mum and the life she was presumed to lead, Susanna can’t stop thinking about her man and it’s only a matter of time that she and Cannon find a way to be together despite being thousands of miles apart. Her breaking out of the stifling restraints that are thrust upon her from birth was great to witness and Cannon’s devotion to her truly warmed my heart.
With great supporting characters in Evie and George, this is a sweet and sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
4 solid stars!
This book had me hooked right from the beginning. First Cannon is feeling out of sorts as the big, American footballer who is in London for a game and while at a party given in the team’s honor he overhears them referred to as “quite beastly” and is not amused. He really just wants to leave and when he is telling his teammate he is overheard by Susanna who interrupts, “I happen to quite like beastly men.” To say there is instant and spontaneous chemistry would do a disservice to these two but what they have is off the charts and special. It starts out as a whirlwind affair in London and after a few days they are separated by an ocean and country and with Cannon constantly practicing and traveling with his demanding career it is hard to stay in contact but with texting and FaceTime can they make it work? This was a smart, sexy, and oh, so fun read. I missed the first book in this series and think I am going to go back and pick it up even though this one is definitely a standalone.
Cannon is a hot NFL player for the 49ers who tends to fall in love quickly. While in London her meets Lady Susanna who he clicks with immediately. Susana is out of her element with Cannon, an American football player and huge physical along with his dirty talking mouth. Cannon and Sus spend 4 magical days and hot nights together. Long distance relationship was never part of the plan, yet they do everything they can to make it work.
I am loving this new series by Murphy.

Thinking About You is the second book in the Forever Yours series by one of my favorite authors, Monica Murphy. You can read it as a total standalone but I do recommend reading the previous book since it’s awesome. If you read Monica’s YA series, friends then you have already met Cannon. In his teen years. Now, he is all man and playing for the NFL.
Cannon never expected to meet her. Lady Susanna Sumner was the kind of woman he never thought would like him. An American Footballer who didn’t know the difference between a Duke and and an Earl. A man who would rather have a cold beer than a glass of wine. She was a Lady after-all. A distant relative to the Queen. So he was shocked that she agreed to leave a fancy party to go out to dinner with him.
Susanna never expected to like him. He was not her type. At. All. But there was something refreshing about him. He was not trying to impress her. He was being himself. Crude words and all. And those words tempting her to do something a Lady would never do. She went home with him. And it was the hottest night of her life. She knew he had to go back to California in just a few days. He was in London to play one game. But, can she just let him walk away after there time together in her city?
I loved this one! I have been following this series from the very beginning. I like Cannon in the Friends series but completely fell for the foul-mouthed sweetheart in this book. I enjoyed their banter. Their laughs. Even their struggles.
Overall…it was damn sexy and sweet. I have read many of Monica’s books and I must say this was the hottest one yet. Cannon’s words and actions are both beautiful and flush inducing.
Quotes:
“You say the rudest things,” she accuses, but she doesn’t sound that mad about it.
“You like it.”
“Hmm. I might.”
“Is your relative the queen in the house?” I’m joking, but wouldn’t it be awesome if Susanna could get me a visit with the queen? “We’re not that close of relatives. I’ve never even met the woman.”
“No one makes me tingle with just a kiss like you do, Cannon Whittaker.”
We all have a story that makes us who we are. Thinking About You is an exercise in finding out facts without letting preconceived notions get in the way. Cannon and Susanna may exist in different circles socially, but it is an injustice to judge them by their backgrounds. These are people who deal with real insecurities despite the celebrity world they reside in. With Murphy the characters become more than just a story to be told, they serve as a looking glass into who we are. Thinking About You allows humanity to stare us in the face and shine a light on the best and worst in us all. Bravo, Ms. Murphy, Bravo!
I love that Cannon finally gets his story. He was the strong silent guy in high school. He did enjoy the fact that the girls liked he played football, but deep down he was always a gentleman. When the team goes to London for a game, he meets Lady Susanna and finds himself captivated. An incredible night together leads to a great few days but what happens when he has to return to California? Susanna is shocked that she is drawn to the ‘large’ football player but loves his open and honest demeanor. She is floundering a bit given that she comes from money and doesn’t really need a job. She is shocked at how much she doesn’t want Cannon to leave. As they try a long-distance relationship, will they be able to make it work? These two are combustible between the sheets while still enjoying each other’s company as they play tourist in London. It was easy to root for them to have a happily ever after. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This story is so sweet! Cannon is such a big teddy bear that you can’t help to love him. He has a caring attitude and an honest personality. In the book he is describe as this massive guy but through every page his vulnerability still appears. His story will feel like it’s going too fast but his reality is that he is a man that falls hard and fast. Even with that, and all his sweet gestures and thoughts, what you will absolutely love the most is his potty mouth. He is a sweet dirty talking guy and those scenes are HOT! He has a way with dirty words….yummmm. And I’m glad he found in Susanna a woman that cares about him genuinely and that loves him more because of their differences. I think this is a great story for Cannon and Susanna, they both complement each other perfectly in a simple kind of way.
