“Four people, two love stories, one amazing book.” Melanie Moreland, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author One couple risks it all, while the other may lose everything…At eighteen, PJ was full of dreams. Where do I start?!?! I devoured this book – stayed up all night reading it because I could NOT put it down! One book told from 4 different POVs and the book still be amazeballs – not many authors can pull this off!!
There are so many themes in this book – unrequited love, first love, starting over, second chances, best friend’s younger sister, true love – they are all there!!
I loved Jack & Dani, but I LOVED Dylan & PJ!! These characters made me fall in love, swoon, smile, cry, ache, hurt and yearn!!
This is a definite must read!!
4.5 stars
Ms Rose is a favorite author and the two stories contained in Think Twice have been published previously and expanded here, so this read was like revisiting old friends.
I normally am not a fan of multiple stories in one book, but it works here as two of the main characters are siblings and all of them are have a long history together. The common plot point of a “forbidden” relationship also contributes to the flow of the two stories.
All of the characters are interesting and dynamic. The well written tales address the ideas of age differences, patient/care giver relationships, and having a crush on your sibling’s friend – all entertaining “forbidden” tropes.
There is some angst, but all of it fits the stories well. Much loved characters of Ms Rose’ make appearances here as secondary characters. If you have read Only You or After You, you will be glad to see where those characters are nearly 20 years later.
Could Stephanie Rose BE more of a romance Queen! Gah! Nothing will make your heart flutter more than a Rose book. The way she holds your heart in her hands and absolutely mesmerizes you with her words is astonishing.
So, full disclosure I’m kind of SUPER obsessed and VERY invested in all of Stephanie’s characters so when I learned that Think Twice was about two of my absolute favorites’ children!? I lost it! Think Twice is about Ellie and Nick’s (From After You which is the best second chance romance EVER!) children Jack and PJ. You can totally dive in without reading After You but please…….read After You!!
I LOVED this book but there were two things wrong with it. The chapters were too short and it ended. Or I’m just really greedy when it comes to Stephanie’s words and could read this FOREVER!
Jack is going through a tough time. Following in his dad’s footsteps he’s a hero, a firefighter but due to a recent accident he’s hurt pretty badly and needs rehab. He feels like he’s losing it all. His career, the use of his legs and even his girlfriend who leaves him at the worst possible time but then he meets his physical therapist, Danielle. Danielle is bent but not broken, she’s closed off and guarded because of recent events in her life. Sparks automatically fly between these two but everytime Jack gets close Danielle shuts down. These two are so sweet, vulnerable, hot and dreamy.
PJ is Jack’s little sister and everyone knows about the major crush she has on Jack’s best friend Dylan but Dylan isn’t just Jack’s best friend he’s family, more like Nick and Ellie’s second son. PJ is on the brink of turning 18, she’s ambitious, smart, an amazing artist and is following her dreams. She’s hoping putting some distance between her and the much older Dylan will stop these feelings because he just thinks she’s a kid right? An annoyance he couldn’t possibly feel the same pull but……what if he does? Dylan and PJ are fiery, intense, sweltering and beautiful! I couldn’t get enough of these two!
Four POVs and Stephanie absolutely NAILED IT! It was so seamless the way she flowed from one chapter to the next and she made it seem completely effortless. Not a shocker that this is a top favorite for me! A MUST read!
Think Twice was a great read by Stephanie Rose. It was fabulously written. I loved the concept and the four POVs.
Both couples were unique and their individual stories very well crafted and yet complemented the other seamlessly.
I really can’t say more but to read this book. It’s entertaining, romantic and just great.
I love books that can transport you into magical worlds, real worlds, that make you feel like you’re coming home and this author always is able to do that for me. I’ve become so engrossed in her words, in her books and all the little, and big, connections to past characters. Joining the next generation of Nick and Ellie’s family, and of course Jack Sr, I knew I was in for a special treat. Not just one couple to love but two? Yes please! Let’s start with Jack and Dani. They had a slow burn with a slight forbidden fruit kind of romance. Falling in love through hot, steamy rehab sessions and late night bags of peanut M&M’s. Past insecurities coming into play, with a dash of fear of what the future may hold sealed the deal for me with these two. Now, Dylan and PJ. Brother’s best friend with off limits little sister. Off the charts chemistry, a fire cracker not afraid to show her feelings and the strong, steady man who worships the ground she walks on. Sigh. I wish I was a PJ, but being like Dani isn’t bad either. Lucky women, and so are their men!
Stephanie Rose, is quickly rising in my favorite author list I have been anticipating Think Twice since she shared bites of Dylan and PJ on Book&Main!! I adored this couple and when I heard they were getting an extended story I leaped for joy. I am a HUGE fan of forbidden romances. There is something about the sneaking around and the ‘OH CRAP’ moment when they get caught. I love the intrigue and mystery of the couple in those books. So with Think Twice we get double the fun. This book follows 2 couples: PJ & Dylan and Dani & Jack I adored both couples tremendously. I did NOT want the book to end!! I could read something new about this constantly
So, about the book we follow 2 stories. First, PJ & Dylan. Dylan is best friends with Jack, PJ’s big brother, and PJ has been in love with him for as long as she can remember. Beside the best friends with her brother issue, there is an 8 year age difference…. I don’t want to share more, I’m afraid it will spoil. Now onto Dani & Jack. Dani happens to be the little sister of a buddy, and they happen to move away. Jack is a firefighter and gets gravely injured on duty. He ends up going to an intensive rehabilitation center. Jack’s therapist ends up being Dani. Both have been burned in past relationships, and those wounds are hard to forget.
Think Twice is totally worth the read. You will NOT be disappointed.

**ARC REVIEW**
Another new Author and it was truly good.
It was different for me, having the book from 4 pov. It was actually good and you got just the right amount of each character. I loved how they were entwined with each other, it was kinda subtle but you got the gist of them as individuals.
PJ – Patricia (PJ) is a young artist ready to graduate high school and start college. She’s had a big crush on her brother’s best friend Dylan for as long as she can remember. She’s ready to confess her love for Dylan and hopefully start a relationship. There’s just many obstacles between them.
1. Age Difference
2. Brothers Best Friend
3. Her Dad will basically kill him…
Jake – Jake is PJ’s big brother and a handsome Fireman who has a tragic accident on the job and ends up having to get physical therapy. He’s in the dumps with the worst attitude in life. He meets Danielle and is instantly attracted to her but Danielle is broken and is not looking for a relationship.
Your following two romances that will be leaving you longing for more. You will definitely feel good after enjoying this read.
Think Twice was a really well written, unique love story. I think it’s the first time I’ve read a book that focused on two different couples at the same time. Jack is a fire fighter who was severely injured and needs rehab. Danielle is his physical therapist and little sister to an old friend of his. She has recently gotten out of bad relationship and doesn’t trust easily. They have a slow burn type of relationship. I really liked both characters, but didn’t really feel their connection. PJ is Jack’s teenage sister. She has been in love with her brothers best friend, Dylan for years. Dylan is 8 years older than PJ and thinks he is too old for her. But he can’t help how he feels. I loved the two of them and thought their chemistry was off the charts. Stephanie Rose wrote a phenomenal story and a highly recommend it to everyone.
Gah!! Loved loved loved this book! Stephanie Rose gave us not one love story here but two! That’s two amazing reads that I devoured in one sitting, I couldn’t get enough.
The characters had it all, chemistry, banter and some hotness thrown in there too. Both couples had their tough times to face and watching them work through their problems and overcome their fears was everything. Have I mentioned that I loved it? I really did and I can’t wait to read whatever’s next. Another great read!!
Such a good book of second chance and unrequited love. This book hooked me from beginning to end. From the amazing characters and storyline, I loved every minute of this book.
I absolutely fell in love with this heartfelt and wonderful journey of Jack , Danielle, Dylan and PJ . This is second story I have read by Stephanie Rose and she has super ceded my expectations. The first book I read was Simmer and I fell in love with the story and her writing style.
Think Twice is absolutely beautiful. Stephanie has made her readers feel the pain and joy of each of the couple and make you root for them through the struggles in their journey. The story had a very realistic feel to it from the emotional journey to the huddle each couple had to go through. The story completely captivated me from the get go and kept me totally invested until I reached the last page. Both Jack and Dylan were perfect book boyfriends and complimented Danielle and PJ . All four had to go through their own trials and tribulations before they reached their HEA . Thank you sooo much Stephanie for the advance copy of this book . Loved everything about this story and the journey these two couples took to their HEA A must read !
So good, so sweet, a perfect romance of 2 couples! PJ and Dylan- just makes my heart happy. Jack and Danielle- beautiful relationship as they find a way together!
I love how Dylan’s love for PJ never waivers. He loves her, tells her he loves and says he’s never going to leave her. Yes- they need to be honest with everyone but their love is fierce and real.
Jack- oh Jack- my heart went to him working through a recovery as he falls for Danielle. He’s sweet and caring and does little things for Danielle.
This book takes these couples to a place of honesty for themselves and to the people around them. I loved the supporting characters, the connections with all of them and the value of loving honest relationships- no matter how much it’s hard to open up!
An amazing book by Stephanie Rose!!
What an awesome story. Think Twice was a unique tale unlike anything I’ve ever read. Two forbidden love stories (brother’s best friend) all in one book. Four main characters, resulting in 4 POV all woven into a magnificent tale I just could not put down and best of all 2 HEA endings. Yes, you will be hooked from beginning to end.
This novel will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride and you will feel every one of those emotions. You will fall in love with these characters and be cheering them on throughout the novel. The story was well-written and the combination of the two stories flowed perfectly. To say I enjoyed this story will be an understatement, I absolutely loved it. Think Twice was a phenomenal tale worthy of more than 5 stars and I would highly recommend it.
This book will rock your world in an amazing way!!
This story is pretty amazing!! It makes my heart melt that there is true love somewhere, some way. This book is like nothing i have ever read. It intertwines 2 couples beautifully!! I felt so many feelings! I was elated, devastated, crying and back to pure happiness!! I can honestly say a 4 person point of view book was something I wasn’t expecting, but HOLY COW! She did it beautifully!! Stephanie rose is an amazing author who deserves so much credit for this book! Great job Stephanie!!
GO BUY THIS BOOK TODAY!!
I enjoyed this books so much! I’m a HUGE sucker for a brothers best friend story and this one was perfect.
The best part of this book though has to be the characters. I loved how they all interacted with each other. The four person POV was written extremely well and is never confusing or overwhelming as I was thinking it could be. I enjoyed all four main characters and their journeys to HEA!
This is a book that will have you thinking much more than twice. I found myself reflecting back on many little things that made me think about this book long after I put it down.
This author knows how to take little interactions between the characters and make you feel them as you’re reading. You could literally feel the chemistry of these individuals. The tension and the heat were real. This is also another part of the book I liked. The story was real. You could identify with these struggles. It wasn’t an outlandish book. These are people you could know or it might even be you. While I was reading I was actually stopping to take notes so I wouldn’t forget what I liked about this book. Turns out I really didn’t need the notes because I was thinking about this story long after I put the book down. Besides all this, the book was very current. In other words, in todays society the families we see today aren’t the family from the 1900’s. For the most part it’s a totally different makeup. I love this. We get to see the evolution of what the normal is.
It’s hard to say too much about the characters because I don’t do spoilers and don’t want to give too much away. You need to read this book. So I’ll just touch on what affected me in their characters.
PJ is a strong determined woman who is smart and for the most part knows what she wants. She blows away preconceived ideas of what a young woman can be. She knocks down stereotypes.
Dylan knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go for it, but he’s not blissfully blind and although not always levelheaded (who is?) he’s not intractable.
Jack, awww Jack. I hate to have favorites but yeah he’s my favorite. He’s been dealt a raw deal. Now he’s learning how to maneuver through life. He’s got many more questions than answers. He’s probably dealing with the most because not only does he have his own situations to deal with it seems he’s carrying the weight of so much more.
Danielle is a sweetheart with her own baggage.
I also loved the secondary characters. They played a pivotal role and were also so real.
Although, I said this is a very real story, don’t worry you get real emotions and feelings. You will smile, laugh, tear up, get the romance you’re looking for and there’s the heat…extremely good heat. One tidbit or crumb I’ll give you that touched my soul is the beginning cafeteria scenes between Jack and Danielle. Watching the sweetness and the vulnerability affected me deeply
I can already see me re-reading this book. It’s a quick read but that’s because you want to keep reading. To the author I say, “Thank you”. Thank you for this beautiful story.
So much going on 4 stories Brother and Sisters Best Friends. When the best time to cross that line. When your Career might be ending, When your no longer a lil girl, When you cant see them with someone else or When your trying to get your life back.
My thing is I think you miss out on Dani story. It is short you got the littlest story from her. I also didnt get the whole meeting with Dylan and his ex Jeannine.
Jack all he knows is being a firefighter without what is he. When he got injured on the job all hes ever known might be gone. The girl he thought loved him left him because she couldnt deal with him being injured. Now hes fighting to get back to normal. When a girl from his past who also use to be his bf sister is now his tough as nail therapist Dani
Dani aka Danielle use to just be Kyles lil sister who tagged along. Now shes helping the one boy who use to be so nice to her. Now hes making her question everything after a bad marriage and feeling like an idiot. Is this real or if its another let down.
Patricia, Pj, Peanut, Jacks lil sis Stubborn to the core and is about to growup fast. When the guy she let known she loved him and he never returned her love. On her 18th Bday shes about to get the best gift ever but it comes with alot of trust, hurt, pain and love. Her Dad who see her as a child still , A Bro who loves her Biggest and Best, A mother who knows whats its like and a Guy whos ready to show who shes it for him.
Dylan is about to either get murdered or become the bravest S.O.B there is. He going to stand his ground on the girl hes been waiting for He might lose his best friend and A family hes known since he was little. Hes also got to show her he will do anything for her even when its tough hes going no where.
“My sister is tiny but mighty. No one’s messing with her. Thats why I was never afraid shed’d get kidnapped. They’d bring her back ten mins later after she gave them a fucking headache.”
“You’re Jacks little sister. I can’t think of you any other way.”
“You mean give you back? Never”
“I whittled a gun out of my bar of soap and over powered the guards.”
“Do it now, before a great love turns in a miserable heartbreak.”
“I waited for you, and I promised you new memories.”
“Next time. I need to think with my big head, so stop trying to seduce my little head”
With this one you get two story’s for the price of one but both stories are very much wrapped together that it would be shallow with out the other.
You can’t help but keep turning the pages as you read about the guys falling for these women that your just going to adore. Now I hope there will be more with Jack and Danielle along with pj and Dylan to come in the future from Stephanie but I totally loved the book.
Think Twice tells the stories of two couples via first person narrative. You get four points of view, which I worried would get confusing. However, each character has a unique voice and personality which made it easy to follow.
Jack is at an in-patient rehab center after being injured during his job as a firefighter. There his therapist just happens to be Danielle, the little sister to one of his childhood friends. Danielle has been through some difficult times and is supposed to keep a professional distance, but their spark might be too difficult to resist.
Echoing Jack and Danielle’s story is PJ and Dylan’s. Dylan is another of Jack’s childhood friends and PJ is Jack’s younger sister. They both have feelings for each other but know Jack and their families will not approve of the age difference between them.
It was interesting to see a similar plot idea play out two different ways in the same book. Ultimately, I think I enjoyed Jack and Danielle’s storyline more than PJ and Dylan’s. I found them to be more relatable and felt like their connection was built up a little more for the reader. This is partly because PJ and Dylan have had feelings for each other for years and been friends but this all happens prior to the start of the book. It is mentioned often and I do understand why their story starts where it does, but I wish more of their earlier interactions could have been shown rather than explained.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Wowza! How absolutely amazing it is! This is told in a four person point of view which are all great characters with great chemistry. FULL of emotions! So captivating. Hated the story to end even though they are two generous epilogues!
Stephanie’s writing is so marvelous! LOVE LOVE her words!!
“You’re all I want and all I think about, no matter how I tried to stop. And trust me, I tried.”
Very highly recommend!
