“Four people, two love stories, one amazing book.” Melanie Moreland, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author One couple risks it all, while the other may lose everything…At eighteen, PJ was full of dreams. She was on her way to becoming a serious artist and moving across the country, away from the unrequited, tortured dream of her much older brother’s irresistible best friend, Dylan. … irresistible best friend, Dylan. But when she forced herself to let that dream go, she never expected it to bounce back and refuse to let her.
One fall may have cost Jack everything. After being severely injured while responding to a fire, he lost the girl, the use of his leg, and possibly the career he’s dreamed of all his life. While away at rehab, he connects with Danielle, his physical therapist and a girl from his past. She can heal him in more ways than one, but she’s nursing her own wounds.
When your heart is warring with your head, there’s no time to Think Twice.

Think Twice is the story of 4 people, joined by blood and friendship.
Jack and Dylan have been best friends since they were kids, and soon, Jack’s annoyed little sister joined them, the three of them were more than family and friends.
Dylan started noticing Patricia when she was a teenager but she was his best friend’s sister and practically his sister too, he knew her family won’t allow a relationship with the family’s baby girl. But when he gets tired of seeing her from afar and now a legal girl, he knows he has to act fast. No matter what her family would say, Dylan won’t give up.
Jack and Danielle knew when they were kids, she was his friend’s sister but they got apart when Danielle and her family moved, now, starting a new life, Danielle will help Jack to get back in track, not only for his job but get back his life and confidence.
4 people, 2 stories connected, they will have to fight their own battles to finally be together.
I loved how neither of them gave up and become stronger for each other, how the family is a big support of every decision in our lives.
This book was amazing! I was honestly apprehensive about reading a book about four different POVs. It flowed nicely and there was no confusion. Jack was injured and his physical therapist was Danielle. PJ is Jack’s sister and Dylan is Jack’s best friend. The two love stories read seamlessly and it was a really enjoyable read! I really enjoyed Dylan’s determination to be with PJ no matter what.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Reading a Stephanie Rose book always leaves my heart so full! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book after finding out the author was taking some of her short stories and turning them into a full length novel. Think Twice is a spin off about the children of one of my favorite Stephanie Rose books, After You. It features Nick and Eliie’s children, Jack and PJ, and gives you 2 couples and 4 POV’s woven together so masterfully. You don’t need to read After You to enjoy Think Twice, but it’s an amazing book, so I highly recommend it!
There’s honestly a little bit for everyone in this book. You’ve got friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, and also some age gap and patient/therapist taboo. I was really impressed how the stories flowed together and the multiple points of view worked really well, giving us insight into each character’s actions and personalities. There isn’t any heavy drama, but there is some push and pull for the angst lovers out there. Jack and Danielle have a bit of emotional baggage to work through as they face their fears and PJ and Dylan play with fire (pun intended) for the majority of the book by not being forthcoming about their relationship. Yes, I wish PJ and Dylan would have come clean earlier, but I understand PJ’s reluctance to change her father’s perception of her. I actually wouldn’t have minded a little more Papa Bear Nick action when everything came to light. 😉 The little cameo by Evan from Only You was a treat too, and I’m hoping we might get a book or novella about his daughters one day as well.
One of my favorite things about Think Twice is the Garcia family. The relationships between husband and wife, parent and child, and brother and sister were all so important to the story. Jack and PJ’s bond was especially touching and I loved that though they might not agree, they always supported and had the other’s back. Plus, their banter and back and forth was hilarious, going from annoyed to fiercely protective in the same breath! The epilogues (yes, there’s more than one!) couldn’t have been more perfect and sweet, and they brought all our characters full circle. Think Twice is a feel good book that will leave you with a smile on your face.

*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*
This was really good. Jack is a firefighter and gets injured on the job and because of that he loses his girlfriend and might lose his career also. Which has him so depressed and miserable. So he gets checked into the best physical therapy place around. Where he meets again his friends little sister who ends up being his physical therapist. But she isn’t so little anymore and his feelings towards her isn’t friendly either. She just got out of a bad relationship but she can’t help feeling the attraction also. But she can’t mix work and personal and is his feelings really true or because she is helping him get his life back?
Not only is this book about Jack but his sister also. Who has had a crush on her brothers best friend forever. But after being denied after proclaiming her love to him she just wants to get away and try to forget. But can she really leave even if she has to see him every day and know he doesn’t feel the same way? Or does he?
Book given to me by author!
I have been having a rough time with books. I like a lot of them, but don’t really fall in love with the story. Stephanie Rose has the ability to pull me into her world and make me feel. This is quite an accomplishment since I’ve had a hard time feeling while reading lately. I love how Ms. Rose writes within the same world, so you feel like you are coming home. Jack and PJ are both kids from another book and I fell in love with them as adults. Of course getting to see their parents again brought back all of the warm fuzzies from their story as well. Ms. Rose continues to write with so much heart and so much feeling that you can’t help but fall in love with her words. This book gave me not one, but two amazing love stories that I couldn’t put down. Great read!

When I heard Stephanie Rose was writing a story with 2 love stories built into it, I was hesitant to read it because I was afraid of the cheating factor or that it was a love square. I am happy to report that I had NOTHING to worry about.
Think Twice is just what she said, two love stories built into one book. It is about 2 separate couples. I thought Stephanie did a flawless job tangling the two stories together but still giving each couple the focus they both needed for the reader to connect with all 4 characters.
Think Twice is a standalone novel told in multiple POV’s. I would say that this book is a companion/spin off novel of Stephanie’s After You novel. No the storyline is not continuing from that book, but the main characters of this story are the 2 adult children of Nick and Ellie (from After You) and the ones they fall in love with. You DO NOT have to read After You first, this is completely a standalone, but once you read this you will want to go back and read Nick and Ellie’s story too.
This is a friends to lovers, brother’s best friend and an unrequited romance story. Stephanie covers a lot of different tropes in this story, but they all work together. There is also an age difference with one of the couples that would make this a forbidden story also. I don’t want to give too much away. This is a book you will want to experience for yourself. I will say that I fell in love with all the characters!!! PJ, Dylan, Jack and Danielle were all fabulous characters and I felt a part of there world. I loved what they all worked so hard to overcome and didn’t let anything stop them.
I thought this story was fresh, unique and totally captivating. I was sucked in from the beginning and really didn’t want this book to end. I think Stephanie Rose’s writing just continues to grow and get better with each book she releases. I always look forward to any book she releases and this one will definitely make my Best of 2019 list!!!
Another new to me author, another fantastic book!
Think Twice is a about 4 people….but don’t let that scare you, this story is fast paced and such a page turner! It doesn’t get bogged down with the details, it’s written smoothly and even with four different POV’s it’s seamless.
PJ, Dylan, Danielle and Jack…all connected by history and family. Two different love stories that are put together so effortlessly.
Now I have never read Stephanie Rose before, but I was able to pick up this story and dive into it head first. There seems like there are past characters with back stories that I should know but it didn’t overwhelm me. It made the story more in depth.
This is a slow burn story, for all of the characters and I loved that! They took the time, they took the effort and Ms. Rose didn’t rush the characters. That was admirable.
Now I will admit, the age gap, at first made me twinge. Just a bit, but the more I read, the more I felt comfortable and that’s a true testament to good writing, to bring a reader around to the author’s way of thinking. Well done!
I am going to check out Ms. Rose’s past books and get them added to my TBR list!!
4.5 Lovable Stars!
I first read these characters on Books + Main in Stephanie’s “Hidden” and fell in love with them. I was so happy to hear that we were getting the PJ & Dylan’s Story along with her Brother Jack and Danielle’s story here in Think Twice.
The family dynamic in this one was what really drew everything together for these four sweet, down to earth characters. The stories felt real, complete with secrets, heartaches, tribulations and deep-felt love. I like they they all stayed true to themselves and their upbringing.
Stephanie has an amazing way of weaving a story that draws you in and makes your heart feel good! Especially when she mentions my Hometown team, the Buffalo Bills in the story!
There’s nothing better than to be back with my tribe. My people. These characters are exactly that after all we’ve been through since Only You and After You. They’re my friends. Think Twice can easily be read as a standalone. For me it was extra special since I’ve been with them from the beginning. I’ve read the two short stories Falling and Hidden so I was very excited to get more and a deeper look into these wonderful characters.
In Think Twice the reader gets four POV. Jack and his younger sister by eight years PJ, his best friend Dylan and Danielle who’s Jack physical therapist. Also Jack and PJ’s parents have a huge part in the story making my Nick Garcia heart very happy. What’s not to love about Think Twice. I got my romance fix satiated thanks to the author Stephanie Rose and her fabulous storytelling. She knows exactly what I need and crave in romance and I got the delicious tingles thanks to Jack, Dylan and Nick. There’s a little forbidden/age gap theme going on which I thoroughly enjoyed. Ticking all my boxes. Those two epilogues were pretty damn amazing. Leaving me on a high.
The Second Chances series and Think Twice captures topics such as family, friendships and love to perfection. Maybe it’s because I’ve been there from book 1 but I want this series to go on forever. The way the author Stephanie Rose writes and executes storylines in this universe I know there’s a possibility for more and I couldn’t be happier.
5 Biggest & Best Stars
First book i have read by this author. I loved it. A great romance story about two amazing couple. Both of them struggle to have a relationship. But all of them have the strength and love to fight for what they want. Amazing characters great chemistry. A storyline about not giving up . Highly recommend.
Double the angst, double the love!
This is a brilliantly-crafted double love story in one. Now that she’s 18, PJ and Dylan finally give in to their years-long devotion for each other, while PJ’s brother, Jack – who is also Dylan’s best friend – is rehabbing his leg and fighting his attraction to his therapist, Danielle, who just happens to be the younger sister of one of his high school friends.
Jack’s feelings for Danielle give him a bit of sympathy for Dylan and PJ, though not much. Both romances have a lot at stake: Dani could lose her job if her feelings for a patient come to light, while PJ’s dad will go through the roof as soon as he finds out she’s dating Dylan.
This book is full of heart, and just enough angst to remind us that true love is worth fighting for. All the characters are beautifully developed, and the family dynamics are wonderfully detailed. Between both couples, there’s more than enough steam for a cozen romances, but none is superfluous and all of it is fueled by deep emotions. The epilogue was absolute perfection as both couples get their HEAs.
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year, and one I don’t hesitate to recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I’ve read a lot of books in my life but this is a first for me. This idea was unique. There are 2 stories in this book that are co related. Both romance are forbidden.
We have Jack who meets and falls for his physiotherapist, Danielle. There’s PJ, Jack’s sister who’s been in love with her older brother’s best friend. Things are about to get complicated.
It’s like reading 2 stories in one. Although both stories were great, I loved PJ and Dylan’s story more. The idea and creativity was well though out. Beautifully written with a seamless plot that flowed well.
Standalone told in 4 POV’s with both having there HEA. I highly recommend this story
Think Twice by Stephanie Rose was a nice and unexpected surprise! I was intrigued when I read the blurb, as it indicates this story would follow two different couples and I was curious how that would flow. The author did a great job intertwisting the two stories. I believe part of the reason this worked so well is two of the character were siblings.
One couple, PJ Garcia and Dylan Matthews. Dylan is her brother’s best friend and she has crushed on him for a very long time, but she is only the annoying younger sister, right? Now at eighteen she feels it times to move forward, because Dylan will never be hers. Dylan knows PJ is too young for him, but can he really let her go?
The other couple, Jack Taylor and Danielle Marsh, knew each other as kids, but have not seen each other in years. When Jack is hurt on the job, Dani is his physical therapist, but before they know it, lines have been crossed. I loved their chemistry from the start. Jack is determined to show Dani what they could be, while Dani is learning to trust again, although slowly.
It was interesting to have four point-of-views and two different, but interconnecting stories happen at once, but it worked for Think Twice by Stephanie Rose. Though each couple’s story was happening at the same time, each was unique and captivating on its own. I loved the characters so much and was drawn in from the very beginning!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading.
Think Twice is my second Stephanie Rose ARC… I didn’t even read the blurb… I signed up right away because its from her and that I loved her other book, REWRITE.
As you might have already checked the blurb, this is a book about two couples—PJ and Dylan; and Jack and Danielle. It’s kinda like two interconnecting novellas that resulted in one awesome novel about these two couples struggling to make it work. I’m not sure if I should say this, but I’ll say it anyway—Jack and PJ, are siblings… PJ is in love with Dylan—who is Jack’s best-friend since they were kids… Jack also falls in love Danielle, who is also a sister of one of their friends… I’ll just stop right here because I didn’t wanna give away anything more.
I enjoyed the story… the characters were relatable and the pacing was great. It’s funny, angsty and swoony… It teaches you about believing in yourself, about acceptance, about patience and not giving up.
If you’re a fan of Rachel Van Dyken or Lauren Blakely… or if you simply wanna read something inspiring and swoon-worthy, then this is the book to pick up next.
This book tells the story of two different couples and is told from four different POVs. It tells the story of Jack Taylor and his younger sister, PJ Garcia.
Jack is a firefighter who, after getting seriously injured while responding to a fire, goes to rehab dreaming of returning to his job. There he connects with Danielle, his physical therapist and sister of one of his teenage friends. The attraction between them is palpable, but Dani also has problems from her past that keep her from moving on.
Meanwhile, Jack’s sister, PJ, is in love with his best friend, Dylan, since her childhood. Having declared herself to him and not being reciprocated, she decides to go to college on the other side of the country to stay away from him and forget him.
But on her 18th birthday, things change completely for her, as Dylan decides to assume he’s been in love with her for some time. As they explore this relationship, they will have to deal with the age difference and approval of PJ’s family.
I loved the story and the characters and I highly recommend the reading.
I truly enjoyed Think Twice. Stephanie Rose has certainly raised the stakes with her writing since her debut, which I also liked very much. She manages 4 POVs quite well and I was completely invested in both love stories right from the start.
It’s interesting that the burgeoning romances between Dylan and PJ, as well as Jack and Danielle, both featured childhood crushes from the women. It gave both stories a sweet nature that was very thoughtful. In the present, both couples face obstacles in being together. For Dylan and PJ, the age difference and the fact that Dylan has been considered a second son, as Jack’s bf and a dear neighbor, is hard to swallow. But their secret time together before the cringe-worthy reveal is full of passion and true love. These two were simply meant to be. I loved that both harbored feelings for the other, when they shouldn’t have. And I give credit to the author for not stepping over the line and have PJ engage in a relationship with Dylan before she was of age.
With Jack and Dani, getting ahead of his early snarky attitude from his injuries due to a collapse while fighting a fire, wasn’t easy. But Danielle stayed professional as his physical therapist, until she couldn’t and yet she just couldn’t get out of the way of her hurtful past. Their slow burn romance had me just as frustrated as the both of them but again, the author gave them the time they needed to expunge their demons and see each other in the very best way possible.
Being in all 4 characters’s heads was truly brilliant and it was wonderful that in the end, a true and all-encompassing love was what all of them needed to feel complete. That love propelled them all in both their personal lives and their professional ones and I enjoyed every moment. In addition, the epilogues…yes we get more than one…were beautiful and made me smile.
What stands out most for me was that both stories kept moving and when I was left with a bit of a question at the end of one, the other picked right up in the next chapter, keeping me happy once more.
Really well done and a thorough delight from start to finish, I happily give Think Twice a solid 5 stars!
I really enjoyed this fantastic book about true love and new beginnings. This book is a tale of two separate couples which I found to be extremely unique. It’s told from four different POV’s and follows the lives of Jack and his younger sister PJ. Both stories are a brother’s best friend romance, and have a forbidden element.
What I absolutely enjoyed and was impressed by was the aspect of the four POV’s. Admittedly, I have never read a book like this before. Because of that, I embraced every moment and I flew through the pages and enjoyed every single little moment. This story is full of emotions, with a touch of angst. It was terrific. Think Twice is unworldly and a true masterpiece. Stephanie Rose did an outstanding job with the writing and the storylines flowed seamlessly throughout.
I felt myself completely drawn in and enthralled by the couples and their stories. I fell in love with each character while rooting for Jack and Danielle and PJ and Dylan to overcome their individual obstacles and arrive at their HEA. This book was beautifully creative, unique and executed masterfully. I highly recommend this sweet, sexy, romantic story. I absolutely loved it!
* I received an ARC but am leaving an honest and voluntary review *
