Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)
By: Shae Banks
5 out of 5 stars
The story Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) by Shae Banks is a contemporary romance book. It is a story about second chances. It pulled me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about Nathalie Johnson and Jason Locksley. They have a past. He had been her everything. He then broke her heart. When they meet again thirteen years later they are both different, changed, however the attraction/emotions still exist. Will a second chance lead them to happiness? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed the bantering that goes back and forth between Nathalie and Jason. They are characters that I couldn’t help but care for the more I read about them. There are romantic and steamy scenes that will have you reaching for a cold glass of water. My emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading the story as you read their interactions and dialogue. It is a story that I would highly recommend reading.
Things We Lost by Shae Banks a four-star read that you won’t want to lose. I enjoyed this story and the writing but I do have to admit that its not my favourite second chance romance, that being said I cant wait to see more from this author in particular where she will go with the rest of the Loving Locksley series as the writing is good. Nathalie Johnson and Jason Locksley have a good story, its well plotted and is very real, and just like most relationships it ebbs and flows but also there isn’t any fireworks, well not enough to make it memorable. This story shows us great promise.
Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) By Shae Banks. I’m a sucker for a second chance type stories and this one didn’t disappoint but it was a bit predictable but I truly enjoyed Nathalie and Jason’s story. Each of them having their own crosses to bare and stories to tell. This is my first read by this author but I’ll definitely be looking for more, the author does a wonderful job of writing a sweet story with characters I really connected with. It’s well written and paced nicely. It’s on the shorter side but that doesn’t hold it back any. I’m glad to give this story a four star review and recommend it. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next.
This was a book that was easy to get into the story. At least for me since, i love second chance romance novels. So it starts close to the beginning when they “bump” into each other. She does seem a bit bitter about the past and how he ghosted her; but who wouldn’t. He obviously insisted and it does take fruit since they do get involved again. But obviously the story has many pains to overcome before the happy ever after. I love her bestie, her personality is like the best friend you want to have. I love that they both have a failed past, since it makes it feel more realistic. Since everyone wants to move on even if they really never do. Will you be able to join the journey with them?
This is my first book by Shae Banks. And luckily for me it won’t be my last. The main characters are Nathalie and Jason who knew each other from childhood. They lost touch after high school when Jason left for college, never to return.
This story seems to prove the theory of “it’s a small world”. Some of the events surrounding Nathalie seem to be fate but how do we really know that Jason didn’t have his hands in it. The coincidences seem a little too easy.
Nathalie has a new job and new boss but along comes an old love. The mix seems to be more than Nathalie can handle.
Jason has a point to prove, not only to himself but to his family and to Nathalie. The past is just that, in the past. Things have changed and Jason wants Nat to see that he has changed too.
I am looking forward to reading more from Banks and hopefully this series as well.
Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) written by Shae Banks is the first book I’ve read by this author. This book had strong characters and the story kept me interested to find out what was going to happen. I wasn’t sure which way this book was going to go but we all secretly hope, second chances turn into a happily ever after.
Nathalie Johnson walked into an interview she was overqualified for. She wanted this new job because she was sick of the commute and had no challenge in her current job. She was hired on the spot. When she is goes out to celebrate with her best friend ( pretty much her only friend ) Haylie she runs right into the last person she expected to see, her ex-boyfriend Jason Locksley, someone she hasn’t seen in thirteen years. She is shocked to see him and wants to hate him for how he hurt her in the past but there’s no way to deny the attraction they still have to each other. Jason keeps showing up begging for a chance to explain and finally, Nat agrees to meet him for coffee and then eventually dinner.
Both Nat and Jase have secrets. When your trying to start over, secrets can ruin any chance you have.
When Nat find out part of Jase’s secret, she automatically thinks the worst and doesn’t let him explain.
When Nat’s past comes creeping into her future, who will she turn to? Will she be able to count of Jase for support? Also the connection between Jase and Nat is crazy. Not sure if I’d be able to handle that kind of pressure. I thought this was a great read and couldn’t seem to put the book down. It was a happy, hopeful read I found myself rooting for this second chance romance.
Things We Lost by Shae Banks is the first book of the Loving Locksley series. For some reason I didn’t realize this was the beginning of a series and was quite distressed thinking that my questions weren’t being answered but thankfully this is just the beginning of the series and there is more to come.
Nathalie is starting another new chapter in her life in so many ways and she’s clueless to the depth of the changes to come. She has come so far from her past and keeps on going up. She was not ready to run into Jason Locksley even after twelve years.
I’m trying to be patient to find out what’s going to happen next, especially to see if I’m right in my thinking.
This is a cliffhanger and worth the read.

5 stars
Let me start by saying, this was such a great book. I love second chance romances, and this one was very interesting. I connected with Nat, I felt for all she had been through. And Jason, I really really liked him. I did, i so did. He explained the past asked for forgiveness and tried to earn her trust back. If the book ended at this point, it still would have been a great read.
But, we get sucker punched, for lack of a better phrase. I didn’t see it coming, I had no idea, no little voice saying “wait for it”, nothing. And then after that, a small scene and then over. Do we get more? Heaven help me I need to know more here and I will be waiting with bated breath and festering feelings as I’m so confused why I feel ok about this books actions! I haven’t felt this way in quite some time. Im on both sides of the fence here and i need to know where to go!
I will be reading more from this author and hopefully we get more dual pov as the small snippet from Jason left me wanting more on his side. Ugh going to dive into some ice cream to drown my traitorous feelings over here lol
Nathalie and Jason were high school sweethearts, until he up and left for university without saying goodbye. Running into each other years later brings with it a possibility at second chances. Nathalie’s past has left her scarred and untrusting. Can she find it in herself to trust Jason or will her past come back to haunt her? The story line was so good and the characters are great! This is the first I’ve read from Shae Banks and I cannot wait for the next book! While it doesn’t end a cliff hanger, you know there is more to come for these two and I need to know what it is!
Things We Lost is the first book in the Loving Locksley series. It tells us the story of a second chance romance between Jason Locksley and his childhood sweetheart Nathalie. Nathalie hadn’t seen Jason since he left her 13 years earlier without looking back. When she bumps into him the same day she gets a new job that will move her closer to home, she is reluctant to rekindle their flame but Jason doesn’t give up easily.
I enjoyed this book although I did keep waiting for a wow moment which didn’t come. The lead characters were well-written and the story moved along at a good pace. I liked the fact that the characters could meet up after many years and try to start again, despite the mistakes they had both made in their life. Nathalie’s straight-talking best friend was a breath of fresh air too, although once Jason came on the scene there was not as much from her.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what Shae Banks has next for the characters.
Well this was another new author and one of those I went in blind reads. Things We Lost is the first book of the Loving Locksley Series from Shae Banks. I was immediately drawn in by the gorgeous and bold cover. It just screamed “read me!” I must say I was over all pleased with the book and I did enjoy it. I will be back for the next novel in the series and see how things progress. However, this book was just maybe a tad shy of that five star, knock my socks off reads. I kept waiting for that spin or twist that would elevate the story to that level and things stayed relatively fluid and steady from beginning to end. It was a short quick read though so Banks kept it brief and didn’t drag out the usual story line longer than necessary.
Nathalie Johnson never figured she would see Jason Locksley again. He crushed her when he disappeared from her life thirteen years prior to this chance run in she finds herself in. Rather easily she gives into his requests for a second chance, but of course there will be obstacles and old wounds that will need to be healed before they can truly have a chance at true love. Will they ever get their happily ever after? Definitely a solid four-star rainy afternoon read! I look forward to seeing what will come next in the series!
Things We Lost by Shae Banks is book one of the Loving Locksley series. This is a story about second chances. I was pulled in right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down!
Nathalie finally gets a new job that she likely won’t hate. To celebrate, her best friend decides they need a night out. Nathalie runs in to the last person she expects to see, her ex, Jason. Jason left Nathalie thirteen years ago but thirteen years is a long time. Is Jason any different? Nathalie spends a lot of time avoiding Jason but eventually she gives in and explores the idea that things are different this time. Will this second chance lead them to a life of happiness they would have missed out on?
Jason and Nathalie have a lot of chemistry. You can almost sense it just from reading their story. There are so many emotions in this book. I wasn’t expecting the turn of events and I definitely couldn’t stop reading until I finished. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Things We Lost by Shae Banks is the first book in the Loving Locksley series and as my first read by this author, I was surprised how fast I was attached to Nathalie and Jason’s story. After thirteen years of never knowing the real reason as to why Jason “ghosted” Nathalie, can she forgive him? And will Nathalie give their relationship a second chance?
This couple had a lot of cute moments leading up to the first coffee date. Jason won me over just by everything he did or said to prove that Nathalie could trust him with her heart. I would agree with some reviewers that some parts of the book were predictable, but I read a lot of romance books. I see certain things and I think I know how things are going to playing out but that didn’t stop me from really liking this story and wanting more from these characters and author. I really want a book about Nathalie’s best friend Haylie.
P.S. I loved the British slang in this book.
Things we lost by Shae Banks is the first book in the series called Loving Locksley which is a romance about second chance love. The author gave us a quick and fun read that I was able to read in one sitting. Jason and Nathalie have a past and one night after running into each other 13 years later, that past smacks them both in the face.
13 Years ago Jason walled away from Nathalie without a goodbye and broke her heart. Fast forward to a girl’s night out after she lands a job close to home, she runs into her past. Jason knows he was crazy to let her go and wants a chance with her. A coffee leads to Jason winning a second chance but after years apart, can these two land the happy ending they want and deserve!
I really loved this book and the characters just really wished the story was a touch longer as I really just loved the storyline. I give this book 5 stars.

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) by Shae Banks is a sweet second chance romance story that is a little emotional. It is a little predictable with the time tested story of boy meets girl and falls in love then one disappears and breaks the others heart but reunite years later. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it, I did really enjoy the story. I liked the characters and Shaes depiction of them made them seem real and likeable.
The boy of Nat’s dreams left with no reason why, boy she thought would be with her for the rest of her life but of course he broke her heart. Now she has finally gotten her life back on track after a disastrous marriage gone terribly wrong she is now faced with the man who broke her heart once again.
I look forward to see what Shae has instore for us next.
Things We Lost is a good 4 star read and book one in the Loving Locksley series. Shae Banks pulled me right in with her writing and I couldn’t stop until I was done.

Loving Locksley is a new series by Shae Banks and Things We Lost is the title. This is my first book by Shae Banks and I have to admit that this story peaked my interest. I am slowly becoming a fan of contemporary romance novels and that is what this story is but it is also about second chances. Let me be real for a moment, if my ex-boyfriend would want back into my life I am not sure if i could be tempted to take him back. Well that is what Nathalie was challenged with Jason. Thirteen years prior Jason was everything to Nathalie and he one day left and did not turn back. Fast forward to present and Nathalie was out with friends and in comes Jason. She did not want anything to do with him. She was hurt and not wanting to get hurt again. Well as it goes Nathalie caves in and went out for coffee with Jason and one thing leads to another and BAM she is with him again. Will this time be different? Is there secrets that each person does not want to surface? Will this second chance work? Enjoy the story and find the answers to these questions plus more.
Things We Lost by Shae Banks is the first book in the Loving Locksley series. It was a great second chance romance that was easy to get lost in.
The story was interesting throughout. I wanted to know more about what had happened to be characters and whether or not they could work past it. I always enjoy reading second chance romances because of the detail in them and this one was no exception.
As my first read by this author it was a great way to be introduced to her work. I can’t wait to see what else might be coming from this series.
Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) by Shae Banks
Four Stars
Honesty is my number one policy. I don’t care what the story is as long as it’s the truth. Little white lies hurt too. The author showed us what could happen if you run into your soulmate after years of pain. I really thought that Nathalie lacked something. Not that she didn’t feel but she just seemed too mellow for all that she had been through. Jase was a douche for withholding the truth even if it seemed like the right thing at that moment. Could you imagine keeping such a big secret and telling someone you love them. When that don’t truly know all of you. I liked this story and hope we get another one. It was somewhat of a cliffhanger. The author did really well with building the characters though some still need some growth.
