I love all of Grahame Claire’s books, but this is definitely my favorite thus far! There is just something about seeing the softer side of the “villain” from other books. The banter between these characters had me laughing out loud more than once. Highly recommend!

I really wasn’t sure about Drew Carter’s story, he seemed like the worst character out of all the men. Even though Daniel and Carlos broke the law, Drew seemed worse because he betrayed his family.
Sonya Hughes is a con artist who ends up at Paths of Purpose, the women and children’s shelter, after an altercation with one of her marks. She meets Drew, who’s there unwillingly, soon after she arrives.
Drew and Sonya have an interesting relationship and I felt that their story had the most character building out of the whole series. Drew had a lot to resolve with his family, but I felt like Sonya never got a chance to fix her own family issues. I was hoping that we’d see some of her story.
In the end, I’m happy with the way Grahame Claire ended this series. I wonder if they’ll consider writing Gabriel and Mitch’s daughters’ stories down the road. The next generation of the Jacobs’ family could be an interesting addition.

Drew has always been the resident bad boy and I’m glad that he kept some of those traits and wasn’t turned into a saint. I love Drew and all his flaws.
Sonya had her own bad side, and together they were amazing.
Loved how they accepted each other’s faults.
Both of our leads had good hearts, despite their natures.
The banter between them both was hot and practically foreplay.
These two characters were perfect for each other.
This series has me totally engrossed.
Great read.

Unpredictable and surprising
Excellent story for which I would have rated 6 stars if it was possible. Heroes are detestable and at the same time endearing.
The story is pretty twisted, and I really liked the characters who seem hateful but are the result of successive pride wounds that they tried (in their own way) to heal on their own. They have a fiery temper, they cannot be believed, and they find themselves dealing with complicated situations that they have created themselves.
The dialogues are also excellent
Drew has his future career as a professional baseball player shattered by an injury, along with his interested girlfriend who leaves him. He lost everything. The question is how will he get up or rebuild himself after that and the answer is: badly, since the story begins with his mother who is sick, who is ready to report him to the police if he does not go not doing community service in a shelter for abused women and children, (he became a womanizer due to his girlfriend betrayal and his injury, but he also robbed the family business). On the one hand, his family wants him to stand up and come to his senses, but on the other hand, they find it difficult to bear him.
Sonya appears in the foyer pretending that she was injured by her boyfriend when she was injured by him because she stole him and that she is a professional thief and liar (Default she sharing with Drew)
From their meeting, they both know that they are 2 liars, manipulators, who are only waiting for the worst of the others. Their behavior between them, seems to be a permanent war, searching who will exasperate most the other, with at the same time a powerful attraction which they do not want, because each of them keeps pushing the other to the extreme, challenging each other.

Drew can finally redeem himself, as he was make out to be the bad guy previously. He is finally able to tell his side of the story. He’s also met his match with Sonya. These 2 were meant for each other.
Definitely a great addition to this series!

Not your typical main characters, and I loved it!
4,5 stars
It must take one hell of an author to write an originally unlikable character and make you fall for him/her. Leave it this duo to make it
exquisitely.
First of all, again: it’s a standalone, but I truly recommend reading the previous books, so you can enjoy this story better and because they are so dang good.
We met Drew in Heartbreak as Easton’s spiteful brother. He was selfish, manipulative, hateful and unlikable. BUt at the same time, there was something about him that intrigued him. He was vengeaful, but he was loving with his mother, he hold a grudge for whatever it was we didn’t know at the time, but he was vulnerable somehow. We could feel that there was a lot more than what met the eye.
And we could prove that in this book. He definitely wasn’t your typical hero, but he wasn’t an antihero like Daniel or Carlos. He was peculiar. His own kind of evil, but not completely tainted.
As we got to know him better, what moved him, his reasons for his poor choices, we started to realize why he became what he became. Yes, he made a lot of mistakes, but he wasn’t alone in that.
He lost so much all at once, he dealt with it poorly, but he was in so much pain that it was hard for him to see it differently.
Drew was a result of his enviroment, his choices, but also the choices and miscomunications of this own family.
There was a lot of love involved, but they couldn’t realize what the also existing grief was doing to all of them.
I even caught myself being protective of him.
Somehow for these same reasons, Sonya hasn’t been living the most honest of lives. But I don’t think it was something you could blame solely on her. There was so many things involved, so many mistakes others made but she had to deal with the aftermath. As young as she was at the time, I can’t say she was a willing participant, even if she tought otherwise.
And for all of that, they understood each other. It wasn’t as easy beginning whatsoever. They were easy to trust nor to be trusted. But they got themselves, they knew what it was like to live like they did. It was more than a connection or a common ground. It was imprinted inside both of them.
Even if they wanted to stay apart because they the damage on could create against the other, they couldn’t keep the distance.
As I read their story, one thing that kept coming to mind was that I saw how the main characters needed each other. But between Sonya and Drew, the need was so much more intense. It was primal, raw, and not only on a phisical way.
Their need was emotional and psichological, it was a craving so deep because they knew there wasn’t anyone else like them, that could see them as truly as they did. They were a rare set and they had to stick together. There was never a choice.
And at the same time they ruined themselves, they also healed. Little by little, showing support, comprehension, a shoulder to lean on, a glance without judgement, and understanding only they could have.
With all these emotions, as wrong as they were, as wronged as they have been, there was still a salvation, redemption, a new chance to amend mistakes and start over.
And together, it’s what they did.
I can’t believe this series is over. It ended way too soon for my liking! I need more from them, I’m not ready to see them go.

Oh man I didn’t believe this family can get any better. Each book has its own memorable story.
Drew & Sonya
These two are equally made for each other. Drew has found his match with Sonya and more. She’s beautiful, smart & feisty. A great challenge for Drew.
Drew has done his family wrong in so many ways. It’s heartbreaking. His sensitivity and jealousy is ruining his relationship with everyone.
Until he meets Sonya. His biggest threat yet. He knows her deep secrets because she thinks just like him. The difference, Sonya makes Drew feel again. Makes him start having hope where he thought it wasn’t possible.
“Sometimes you just gotta take the plunge, Tigress.”
It makes me sad to think this is the end for The Love of Paths Series, especially when Gabriel is growing and now there’s just another generation that’s coming! Love this series!
Thank you so much Grahame & Claire for a beautiful series!

I fell in love with the bad guy. That’s basically what this book will do to you. Sonya and Drew are amazing together and the way the story is written had me second guessing myself because why would I like the “bad guy”. It’s complex and frustrating but even if they are hard to love, because I had a hard time with Sonya too, you learn to love them at the end.

THICK AS THIEVES
This book is the 5th in this series paths to love.
This authors writing is excellent and the story of this book is awesome.
Drew is a very unlikable person. He’s a very dark and a very shady dude and he doesn’t really care who he hurts as long as he gets what he wants. Drew is a con artist and has stolen a lot of money he’s very selfish and is only out for number one. Drew always gets what he wants.
Sonya is no better than Drew really, she’s also a thief that’s stolen everything and anything and she does whatever she can. However something goes wrong with one of the marks and she needs to disappear this is how she meets Drew. Sonya is a very sexy woman but she also knows what she’s doing. Has Drew finally met his match in her someone who can give as good as she gets ?
Drew loves his mam and is very sweet, loving and caring with her, this is a side of him not many people get to see. Drew’s man is sick and she desperately wants to see him go good.
These two characters have a strong connection and good chemistry and are both totally made for each other, they have banter with each other, and they are not nice people but we do get to see their softer sides alittle. They have both done some really shady things but somehow find themselves connected to each other.
These characters were written brilliantly and so was the story.I enjoyed reading this book and I could hardly put it down. This book will have you crying and then next minute wanting to physically hurt these characters. This book is full of twists and turns and gob smackers.
This author has an amazing gift of writing everything was written beautifully.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read copy of this book.

Thick As Thieves is a one of a kind book. I wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to like Drew. Drew Carter, the black sheep, stole $1 Billion dollars from his family.
In this book we get answers. We get to know Drew. Yes he is a liar and irresponsible but he has feelings. We can see the love that he has for his mother Loretta.
He then meets Sonya, the hustler. Sonya is used to controlling men to get what she wants. When she meets Drew things are different. She likes how Drew doesn’t give in. Drew is dominant to her and she enjoys it.
One minute is arguments and the next is sex. They both understand each other and they don’t judge each other.
Grahame Claire didn’t try to change these characters which I love. They told a story from their point of view to give us answers and I LOVED IT.
Amazing read for the start of 2020.

Only Drew Mama’s love for him sees his redeemable qualities. A must read.
The book Dangerous Redemption introduced Drew as the conniving youngest son/ younger brother of the Carter family. How could Drew steal a billion dollars from the close knit family and bankrupt the Carter Energy company and force a sale of it that his father built up for his sons, Easton and Drew. With Thick as Thieves, we find out just what led to Drew to hate his family so much to steal money from and lose their company. The only one he maintained his love for he held for Mama Carter.
His family becomes his judge and gives him his sentence. He must volunteer all his time to the women’s home and Easton is his caretaker. Meanwhile, Mama Carter is in a battle for her life but enters it with all the strength that she has.
While Drew is serving his sentence at Paths of Purpose, he meets Sonya. She is running from her own monster who punched her after she took something locked away in a safe. Sonya and Drew are almost like two peas in a pod. She has her own issues with her mother and father.
Slowly but surely Drew starts finding something about Sonya that calls to him. But he still maintains his bad habits. He views everything as he was wronged by the people that were supposed to love him unconditionally therefore he is owed and he means to collect and never to forgive.
With the love of his mother, he is shown that family love is greater than what he feels. Also with Sonya’s odd ways he starts to change. He begins to see things that he read incorrectly after his massive accident with what he loved most when he was younger and lost.
Slowly but surely Drew starts opening up and laying things out to his family where each side starts to understand the miscommunication of everything that transpired into making Drew hate his family. Things start changing for Drew and Sonya and his family.
Love becomes the greater picture and a long lost family begins to form again. But there is a loss that brings tears to the readers’ eyes. The whole family is full of wonderful characters as shown by the author. A book so well written, I can’t believe it is the final of the Paths to Love series. I wish it wasn’t so. Would love to see one more book after a few years to see how the Carter and extended family has grown and adjusted.
A great book, I definitely recommend as a ‘get it to read and love’. Love Grahame Claire’s writings.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the last book of this fabulous series! Drew and Sonya are thieves and both will take whatever they want from whomever. Both of these souls meet when they are at their lowest point , but can they heal each other and have an HEA? Grahame Claire created these amazingly flawed characters that will captivate you with each of their stories. I loved everything about this amazing series. I honestly volunteered to review the arc.

What can I say that I haven’t already said about these incredible authors? When I first read Daniel & Vivian’s story in It’s Not Over, the 1st book in the “Paths to Love” series, I knew immediately that these two authors would become favorites of mine. And now having read all 5 books in this series and hating to say goodbye to these characters (when I don’t want to!), I can honestly say that these books are my all-time favorites in my very large library. Flawless writing that flows off the page–you won’t even realize you’ve been reading for hours. Daniel & Vivian, Stone & Muriella, Easton & Mulaney, Carlos & Holly and now Drew & Sonya — these characters have reached inside me and gutted me at times; make me laugh and cry; caused me to lose sleep; and gave me many thought-provoking moments. I wasn’t sure if I would like Drew’s story, but I KNEW I had to read Drew’s story. Yes, he’s a jerk, but a jerk that these ladies have redeemed in a big way. I am so happy that these authors decided to take us on Drew’s journey because it was so worth it! Heartbreaking (I was a puddle of tears many times throughout this book) and heartwarming, surprisingly sweet and not-so-surprisingly sexy! Sonya is Drew’s perfect counterpart–I can’t imagine him with anyone else. This was a perfectly written, intense ending to this incredible series by these amazing, very talented authors. As the saying goes, if they wrote a telephone book, I’d read it! You can’t go wrong with Grahame Claire! 10+ stars as always!

I always say the same when I read a Grahame Claire book, this is my favorite! And now with Drew and Sonya I can’t help it This is my favorite book in this series! Have loved every single one of the stories, though TAT was a hell of a ride!
The book, the plot, the chemistry… EVERYTHING is perfect! I loved the cover!!!
Drew has been a bad boy forever, and to be honest I was not a fan! But the way GC wrote the story is amazing!
Reading the Sonya’s POV was empowering!
I could not put it down! Reading this book was a fresh experience and I cannot recommend it enough

I was interested in this read because it dealt with Drew and I was curious as to how it would go seeing as in the previous books, he was a huge jerk and manipulator to his own family. We saw in the previous books how awful Drew truly was and was given the cold shoulder by his own family because he basically stole a lot of money from them and single handedly destroyed the family business. With all that going on his mother being sick wants to see him redeem himself instead of sending him off to prison, so she offers that he volunteer at a woman’s shelter to pay his dues. Trying to understand or even like Drew was difficult but also the more we learn why he did what he did the more I found myself pulling for his redemption and hoping he could salvage himself. Sonya is a thieve, simple as that, she steals and survives for the next person she is going to mark. These two are perfect for each other, both are untrusting of the other, both have a load of resentment towards family, and in a weird way they seem to help each other find the better side of themselves. They are not perfect people, but they seem to help each other see that they need more out of life and they give great banter that you end up loving. I loved how even though they kept trying to one up the other they ended up realizing that they need and deserve more out of life. In their imperfections they found their perfections together

Well, Grahame Claire did it! They redeemed the seemingly irredeemable. In the beginning of the book neither Drew or Sonya are people I would want to know, but as the book progresses we see the parts of them that do have a heart and they are trying so hard to protect it. Drew was disgusting in the previous books, but when he is with his mama everything changes. He is sweet, caring, and sensitive. After learning his story I felt bad for him, but boy did he deal with it in the wrong way. Fortunately, he realizes this. Sonya is a hustler, but as she stays at Paths of Purpose her shell grows thinner and she begins to let people in. I felt bad for her, but that was limited. I think she was addicted to the thrill of “stealing”, and being kind of horrible by seeing how much she could take. These two are perfect for each other! Let’s face it, they will never be “good”, but I think they are a bit more human and not soulless or heartless to me. The banter and fighting is so funny and hot! I truly enjoyed this book, when I thought it would just be okay because I hated Drew so much. The writing is flawless, dialogue is perfect and the story is interesting and absolutely fits Drew and Sonya. The bits with Gabriel were so sweet and genuine and the ending was perfect, but be prepared to shed a few tears. I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.

I have loved the Paths to Loves series since book 1. Each book has wowed me, though Daniel and Carlos are my favorite. I always get excited whenever I get a new book from Grahame Claire, but this time I was a bit worried. Drew was such a jerk in past books. I couldn’t stand him. All the bad things he did in all the other books omg . I just didn’t know how Grahame Claire was going to redeem him. But I should have know They would make me fall in love with Drew and all his flaws.
Drew was unapologetically a bad boy. I loved that he didn’t do a 360 and turn into a saint. He was a great anti-hero. The bad boy you hate to love. I could understand some of his choices. That didn’t make them ok, but it helped me soften to him. Knowing where he was coming from. Knowing his feelings on things, his hurts, his anger. I connected with him. His lady love was such a bad girl herself. Sonya was a hustler. She also owned her bad girl ways. I loved that Drew never shamed Sonya for the bad things she did. He didn’t try to change her. She also loved Drew as he was and didn’t try to make him reform. Both Drew and Sonya had a good heart they just showed their bad side more. They were funny and cute as a couple. They were snapping on each other one minute and kissing the next. I really enjoyed their banter.
After the last book I had questions about Gabriel. I can’t say too much without giving spoilers away but all my questions about the situation were resolved in this book. And they were done the way I had hope for. Loretta omg my heart broke. I may have had something in my eyes(I’m not crying… you’re crying) it was hard to read the end of the book but it was really good too. Overall I really enjoyed this book. If you haven’t tried this series yet I highly recommend it . Start with Daniel’s book It’s not over it’s one of my favorites and Daniel is very yummy!
I love all of Grahame Claire’s books, but this is definitely my favorite thus far! There is just something about seeing the softer side of the “villain” from other books. The banter between these characters had me laughing out loud more than once. Highly recommend!

Sonya & Drew’s journey was unlike any that I have read before & I loved it! Every twist & turn kept me flipping the pages. I loved that both Sonya & Drew were these imperfect characters, but fit perfectly together.
I can’t believe this series is over! And it makes me sad, but I am also excited to see what world Grahame Claire is going to come up with next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
OMG!!!
