After a tumultuous year, she gets an unexpected surprise just before Christmas… your perfect friends bail.
Then Amelia does something crazy. She has a passionate night with Sebastian Wilder and then leaves while he’s still sleeping.
It’s a wakeup call. She needs to get her life together, and she doesn’t need to complicate Sebastian’s while she does it. Even if she can’t stop dreaming about their steamy night.
But when she takes a pregnancy test and it says positive, she realizes she’s about to complicate Sebastian’s life in a big way.
She might have wanted to pursue something with him in the future, but the pregnancy makes that impossible. They need to be friends so they can co-parent their baby, and getting between the sheets again would jeopardize that. So, she definitely won’t open that door again. Definitely not.
But as she gets to know him, she realizes that Sebastian’s the whole package and maybe the biggest risk would be to let him get away.
He’s going to prove to her that he’s more than a one-night stand, even if he has to dress up as Santa to do it…
While trying to open the ski resort he’s dreamed of opening for years, the last thing Sebastian needed was a distraction. And Amelia is a distraction from top to bottom.
But when she tells him about her pregnancy like she expects him run as fast as she did after their night together, he makes it his mission to prove her wrong. He isn’t that kind of guy. He will be there for her and their child, even if he has to overcome every single one of her reservations.
Soon Sebastian realizes that beneath Amelia’s reserved exterior is a passionate, sweet, and hilarious woman. A woman any man would be lucky to call his. And Sebastian is determined that it won’t be any man. It’ll be him.
And he’s got his work cut out for him between their meddlesome families and her determination to keep him in the co-parent zone, but Sebastian is hoping some holiday magic will work in his favor and he invites her to spend a week at his family’s lodge.
Sebastian is going to show her they have something meant to last long after the Christmas lights are packed away.
Can the holiday season work its magic and help these two find true love?

Ms Reed consistently delivers an entertaining read and this episode of the magnolia valley series is no exception. Be sure to read the bonus chapter when you get to the link at the end. I plan to reread the whole series in the very near future, it’s just that enjoyable!

Kindergarten teacher Amelia Edgecombe had a one night stand with the handsome Sebastian Wilder 3 months ago and has been avoiding him since then. That is, until Amelia finds out she’s pregnant. Amelia and Sebastian decide to give things a try but can a one one stand be the start of a happily ever after?
They Started with a Kiss is a fun, sweet and steamy story that will leave you with a smile on your face. I can’t wait to read Micah and Joanna’s story in Book 9 of the Magnolia Valley series.
I read the whole series so far, but it took me a little bit to get back into it with this book. The beginning feels like you’re jumping in mid story. I went back and skim through the last book, It Was Always You to refresh myself. Sebastian and Amelia have their own chapter in that book so I highly recommend you read it first. However if you haven’t / don’t – just hanging and things will fall into place.
My cheeks hurt from smiling so much while reading this book! I seriously loved it so much and didn’t want to see it end. Everything was just a perfect ending. Sebastian went beyond my expectations, and this one is probably my favorite of the whole series
Oh man.. I’ve been waiting for Sebastian’s book since Caine and Quinn’s book. He’s the misunderstood, but strong, silent type. I never really understood Amelia, until this book, granted that she was fleeting in Penny’s story. That said, I love who she seems to become, who she’s grown into. Regardless of the hurts in her life, she still manages to maintain her kind-hearted characteristics, and at the same time being very protective of those she holds very near and dear to her. I love that Cora saw fit to put them together, they are quite literally THE perfect couple. Sebastian is an awesome guy. And I totally understand his plight.. after Astrid and Ethan’s book, the Wilder’s really had a rough go of it, and while I love Caine and Augie, Seb always seemed like the odd man out.. like he’s only remembered after the fact. I loved seeing him stand up for himself and him being front and center. I also enjoyed seeing a little more of the Wilder brothers dynamic.. Those three men.. (ooo.. is it hot in here?!)
