I was Lilith. He was Lucifer.Halloween night, one year ago, I sold my soul to the devil. Complete with a blood rite and everything. I had less than nothing. He promised me the world. And then he disappeared, taking my heart with him. But now, he’s the one with everything to lose. A family. A name. A reputation. I’ve still got nothing, but I’m clawing my way to the top, one body at a time. This … my way to the top, one body at a time.
This Halloween, things are going to be different. This Halloween, ‘Lilith’ is coming to take what’s hers.
Book 1 of the Unsainted series. Dark romance.

These Monstrous Ties is a wickedly amazing read. I could hardly put the book down. Its a pretty crazy story with several unstable/fucked up characters.
It’s Halloween Sid’s favorite holiday and she’s ready to go out and end her life until he comes along and derails her plans. Lucifer is all ready for Lover’s Death when his path crosses with Lilith (Sid). Little does Sid know her life is about to change quickly, Lucifer may have saved her life that night but she’s about to wish he didn’t. Between the Unsaints and the Order of Rain chaos is all around and Sid just happens to be right in the middle of it all.
This was a fast read full of crazy twists and turns not sure who can be trusted. I’m not sure who I’m rooting for at this point and in a sick way I love them all.
These Monstrous Ties (Unsainted #1) by K.V. Rose
5 STARS
Holly Freaking…. Wow….
KV Rose has conquered me with her book, Ecstasy, witch was my first read from her.
If you are a dark romance lover, and you didn’t read that book, still, go grab it and read it ASAP.
I AM HOOCKED on her. So obviously, I went blind in this one. OMG….. I didn’t knew what hit me. This woman can write drak so GOOD. Dark & Twisted all the way.
These Monstrous Ties by K.V. Rose is the first book in the Unsainted Series.
Honestly this author makes me consider my sanity. I love everything she writes, her stories, her characters, everything.
Yes, the book contains some triggers, and most definitely isn’t for everyone, yes, it is considered dark romance, but I personally, didn’t consider it “that dark”. For my tastes it was just a “dark lite”.
I highly recommend this book for every dark romance lover.
Whoa.
Wow.
Wtf did I just read? and I mean that in the best way possible!
The author created such an amazing story line and these characters…these character’s are everything.
Dark. Twisted. Depraved.
Read this story, but be warned they will suck you in and never let you leave.
I read this book in one sitting. Thats how captivated I was with this book. Lilith and Lucifers story was beautifully tragic. I loved the character development and I find myself caring about what happens to not only the main characters but the secondary characters as well.
Call me alittle dark and twisty but I want Lucifer and Jeremiah to myself!
This book was my introduction to KV Rose and Dark Romance. And I can’t stop.
This book was soul sucking in the best way! Lucifer is my husband and idc.
The way his and Sid’s story starts was a little creepy and twisted but in the most beautiful way. He was a mystery for her but she needed one in that moment especially AT that exact moment that she met him. He’ll never admit it but I believe he needed her too.
Their story unfolds in such a deliciously dark way while the reader tries to figure out what the hell is going on. They had one wild night that was filled with blood, an oath, and some steamy sex. However, Sid’s memory is a bit patchy and she spends a lot of time trying to piece together what happened that night. That night not only involved Lucifer and the Unsaints but also Jeremiah (Sid’s brother). Sid has to decide who to trust Lucifer or Jeremiah. Jeremiah basically lives to torture Sid.
Sid hasn’t seen Lucifer in almost a year. She thinks he left her which hurt. Jeremiah does nothing but encourage her to hate Lucifer. Lucifer and his Unsaints return. They basically play an extended game of hide and seek with Lucifer trying to catch Sid. She doesn’t trust him as she is still hurt and angry. There’s a lot of anger and pain between them. Sid is trying to figure out why they want her but Lucifer won’t tell. There’s a super hott scene that involves a knife so if that’s a trigger for you don’t read this. It is dark.
Throughout this hide and seek, kidnap, and torture, they both remember that night. Eventually the truth of that night is exposed to Sid. Sid and Lucifer develop strong feelings throughout their f***ed up games and he’d kill anyone for her as easily as he thinks he’d kill her. I love them <3.
I loved the latin throughout the book and the cult culture that was thrown in. It made the story more interesting. It explained the behaviors and twisted games. There is literally a reason for everything. The past is just as important as the present when it's being exposed.
After reading this book, I read everything available by KV Rose. She is my favorite author and I read everything she publishes. If you like dark romance, twisted games, some cult business, and a f***ed up love story not knowing if it will be an HEA or not then read this series! This is book 1, there are 3 currently out with the 4th on the way soon.
What the hell! I really wasn’t sure what I was expecting with this one. I didn’t even read the blurb and I’m so glad I went into this blind because the mindf*ck I was just delivered is not something I could have prepared myself for.
Lucifer…the devil himself, leader of the Unsaints and Sid’s worst nightmare. I love this character! Between his dark, vengeful persona and his constant longing for Sid for reasons that don’t become clear immediately, I was completely enthralled with him.
From the start, Sid’s reckless behavior and doesn’t give a shit attitude had me on her side. She’s been tormented by a lot in her short lifetime and KV Rose really puts her through it! Between the torment from her brother and being haunted by the memory of Lucifer, Sid is brought into a world of Villains and this is clearly only the beginning. Which also means I am about to get a one way trip straight to hell on the journey to the end of this series!
“I bind myself to you tonight, No matter the shift of the knife. Through blood and bone, Flesh and heart, Death may come, But we shall not part.”
And Lucifer captured his Lilith.
I don’t even know how to review this book. What I can say is I stayed up till 5am (WTF, I’m a mom of three little kids) just to finish this book and start the second one.
It’s THAT good. It’s all the dark deliciousness we freaks love and it has angst and hot alpha men who are FUCKED up. They are the Unsainted. The sons of The 6. A cult you can say.
Just read it. I’ve never felt so in edge reading books… it’s a serious page turner. The next two books after this one, i feel like are even better.
Phenomenal Twisted Story!
”I bind myself to you tonight,
No matter the shift of the knife.
Through blood and bone,
Flesh and heart,
Death may come,
But we shall not part.”
WOW! This is one dark, twisted and very delicious story. It kept me completely enthralled and captivated right from the very beginning until the very intense and thrilling ending. It pushed me down a rabbit hole for the devious, the depraved and the utterly twisted and I absolutely loved every delicious second of it.
Sid (Lilith) is one messed up, intense and a bit twisted woman. She finds herself in a life that she never wanted or asked for. Her strange relationship with Jeremiah and Lucifer will keep you guessing and at times will shock you. Sid takes us readers on an emotional rollercoaster ride that will leave you breathless and begging for more!
Lilith and Lucifer are highly combustible when together. Their chemistry oozed off the pages and melted my heart. They made me fall in love with the idea of them together! There is so much more for these two to figure out.
”In all my misery, in all this disgust I feel with my own body, I feel it. When he touches me, I light up. I want to melt into him. I want to burn with him. We can burn the whole world if we want. We can burn up hell if we have to. We can destroy everything we touch, and we can do it together, without burning each other.”
This story has everything my little deviant heart desires in a dark romance, blood, sex, pain, mystery, thrills and utterly depraved characters. So very delicious! Highly recommend.
This is my first KV Rose read and I have to say it is an odd one. If your looking for dark and different this is your book. This is the story of Sid and Lucifer. So just the mention of the devil makes you know there’s gonna be blood and suspense soemsecrets pain and some smoking hot moments. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and honestly I’ve been intrigued by it for awhile now but just never picked it up until recently and HOLY SHIT ! This book brought life to my little black heart ! It’s dark it’s dirty , twisted and filthy steamy hot ! I don’t know why I never picked this up sooner but I’m so glad that I did ! This book was a definite 5 stars from me and these characters this world is now my new addiction and I can’t wait to read the next ! If you like dark romance with suspenseful story line and twisted characters than you need to read this book ! On to the next for me !
I bind myself to you tonight, No matter the shift of the knife. Through blood and bone, Flesh and heart, Death may come, But we shall not part.
Oh, wow! I’m so intruiged by the suspence. I absolutely loved the plot, the characters, and the absolute dark undertone of the story. I had no idea of what to think about Lucifer, Jeremiah and the rest of the guys. And I also can not wait to see what Sid’s going to do in the next book. I also feel like this was only the intro of a mindblowing series.
Everything was perfect, just the way I like my dark romances.
I finally popped my K.V. Rose cherry. I started following this author a short while ago and the synopsis to her books intrigued me to no end. I was told to start with Unsainted #1 and boy let me just say this book had me hook, line and sinker. I was engrossed with the story line that it was so difficult to put my kindle down for a minute without any interruptions.
Jeremiah, Lilith and Lucifer were definitely a trio that I just couldn’t get enough. The lies, intrigue, drama, scandal had me biting nails down to the tips of my fingers.
Sid (Lilith) finds herself in a situation that she never asked to be part of. After that one night on Halloween she finds herself attracted to Lucifer and stuff went down that made this book unputdownable and from that point on the drama just wouldn’t stop. We kept getting more and more and we even get things we never expected to know.
I think K.V. Rose is now on top of my list along with Pepper Winters, K. Webster, Ker Dukey, Natalie Bennett and Lily White, top dark romance authors for me and K.V. Rose has just planted herself in that category.
I am itching to keep reading the rest of the Unsainted books because they are surely going to take me on one emotional roller coaster and I am so looking forward to reading more of these characters.
I was riveted from beginning to end. Those morally grey characters just suck me right in. This book has a little bit of everything! It’s like a thriller mixed with romance mixed with horror! I can’t wait to read book 2!
One of the darkest books I’ve read, this is everything I want a book to be, dark, twisted, a romance that’s not romantic, Jeremiah gave me the shudders, Lucifer had a vibe about him that you never quite got, and Sid, Sid is the flame that will burn them all. I am in awe, fabulous read I loved it.
Okayyyyyyy what the hell just happened?!
“My friends and I,” he begins, “we’re into some weird shit.”
Well that’s putting it mildly
I’m pretty sure I had goosebumps throughout the whole of this book
“Jeremiah isn’t merciful.”
Oh no he definitely isn’t, he loves to play games, he’s tortuous, manipulative and ruthless, but he’s appealing and I can’t help but hate to love the evil bastard
“Jeremiah doesn’t have a good side. He has a bad one. And a worse one.”
I love the mystery that surrounds Lucifer and you feel drawn to him just like Sid does, what is it about bad boys
“Turns out, he’s even more sinful than the devil himself.”
As if your not off kilter enough the back and forth, between past and present makes it one intense, dark and twisty ride (why do we love this stuff so much )
I was hooked from just a few pages in, then before I knew it I was at 90%
I’ll definitely be carrying on with this series and I now have a new one click author KV Rose is a literary genius and she fed my dark little heart
This was a twisted, crazy, dark, suspense, lies, make your head spin, what did I just read kinda book and I really loved it. Can’t wait to dive into #2.
I stumbled across this author since she was recommended in a group of another dark writer I enjoy. I didn’t anticipate that I would be HOOKED on this story- staying up through the night to try to figure out what was going on in this tangled web. So much suspense and mystery, lots of painful secrets and bizarre situations, tons of flawed and dark characters.
The story is told from our heroines POV as we trace our way through two timelines that are alternating back and forth- her present day predicament and the past- a single night one year ago on Halloween that shattered her heart and created a domino of impact that have trapped her in her current situation. This is romantic suspense- so we see the implications of the past long before we understand it or know what happened, as we accumulated little breadcrumbs moment by moment and piece together the puzzle of the past. Sid and Lucifer’s past connection is, well, weird. You don’t quite understand how just “snap” they’re together and in this bizarre and dark ritual, but you don’t really question it- they both seem a little unhinged (and Sid is not in her past state of mind given her plans for that evening)
I loved the mystery, was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out just what the heck was going on- and SID was a dynamic main character, albeit unpredictable- she’s in some weird situations, so it’s not surprising that she’s sharp and badass in one moment, despairing and reckless in others. The ending felt a smidge rushed- there is just SO much story to tell here, and Sid and Lucifer don’t spend as much time together (esp in the present storyline) as I’d like- but that just builds the anticipation and the suspense for the drama of when they do. In fact, I found the dynamic between Jeremiah and Sid to sometimes be more interesting and curious- and we have some unanswered questions as well. I don’t think we fully yet get Lucifer, but I imagine that’s why we have a second book, which I will be reading!
I was also impressed by the quality writing here- pacing was strong, tone was a central theme and well developed, character development was used interestly (seems like we purposefully can’t really get a read on a characters- that’s the point), and writing flows well and engaging- with the flow of the prose often mimicking the tension or urgency of certain moments- which keeps us turning pages. I was definitely on my toes- looking forward to more answers cause I’m still left with questions.
There is a sequel- and while there isn’t what I would classify as an “agonizing” cliff hanger the epilogue is very intriguing, unsettling and you are left with many unanswered questions/potential closure but not an HEA- just a warning for those that think this is a standalone.
(FYI: This definitely is on the darker half of the spectrum (I wouldn’t classify it as romance) but certainly not the darkest I’ve read.)
Awesome beginning to a great series!! I couldn’t get enough of Lucifer and Sid and really all the characters, but I want more Jeremiah. Not sure what that says about me, but I don’t care. Give me more. Thank you KV Rose!
OMGAWDDDDDDDD this book was a total MINDF*CK! What a wild ride of from start to finish, I never knew what was going to happen next or who was going to do what. This was a wickedly sexy, intense, bloody roller coaster that you never want to get off of. I devoured this book in one siting and entirely too fast but I could not put it down. I needed to know EVERYTHING and was addicted to each and every jaw dropping plot twist, and there are some in this book that threw me for a loop. I need more of this world and more of the characters. I FLOVED all the unsaints, every single one of those f***** up boys. I am looking forward to getting to know more of the others as I keep reading the series. This one centers around Lucifer and Sid. This couple had me shouting and cursing out loud so many times, I seemed like a straight up crazy person. I haven’t come across such a volatile pair like Lucifer and Sid, they tension and anger between them was straight up combustible. I can’t wait to read the next one and see what’s going to happen next! 5/5 WICKED STARS
