more
I really enjoyed the characters and learning more about life in that difficult time period. I was surprised at how involved I was!
Really excellent writing. Glad to find out that there are at least 2 more in the series.
So good, I may even read it again, and again.
I really looked forward to reading this at the end of every day.
I recommended his t my wife and she loved it a well.
Loved the story and strong female character.
What a wonderful, personal story! We take for granted that the American Pioneers were strong and dedicated, but this book brings a wholly unexpected new view of one woman’s amazing and sometimes tragic life. What a treasure!
I did not know this author. The book was a real page-turner. I was captivated by the characters and the story.
Here’s how this book earned 3 stars-it’s entertaining, sometimes funny, sometimes thrilling, often romantic. I grew up very near where the setting takes place and enjoyed references to what I consider to be home. I wish I could say more good things but I just couldn’t give those other two stars. It’s basically a romance and I’m not even sure it’s …
Excellent!
I read a lot (always have a book, or now a kindle, in my hands) and read this book years ago and it is still one of the best that i’ve ever read. Highly highly recommend.
Great book! Did not want it to end.
Loved it. Main character is a woman and the story follows her life from her teens to early 40’s. Told in the form of her diary. Incredibly romantic, also sad, but a wonderful story. And very sexy in parts. Takes place in Arizona in early 1900’s – a western, with cowboys, Indians, train robbers, rattlesnakes, floods, and bad guys. And all …
I loved it from the first page until the last!
I want to read more by this author and about this character.
great account of an adventure
A very readable trip through the mind of a girl-to-woman pioneer who with her family made the trek from home to the unexplored Southern Indian territories. An authentic love story with the strength that was needed to survive floods, death, raids, set-backs and all that went into taming uncharted parts of our great nation.
This is a good read!
I thought the dialect would make it difficult to connect to the characters, but boy was I wrong. This is an excellent book that kept me up late every night until I finished it.
All three of the books in this series were wonderful.
I was fully immersed in these stories and the characters felt like family.
