Sarah’s narrative in her journal told her life story so realistically I thought I was there. I enjoyed her sometimes humorous comments along the way. Good description of pioneer life. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel, “Sarah’s Quilt”.
Outstanding
This book is one of my all-time favorite books!
One of the best book I’ve read in a long while.
A true story written by a woman who faced trials and tribulations with courage
and determination . Inspiring !
love love love this book!!! I was in love with main character, and the book was so well written!
interesting historical journey.
I could not put this book down. I love Historical American fiction and this book was totally satisfying. I found the main characters to be very believable. I will be purchasing the sequence to this book.
Best book I’ve read in awhile.
A wonderful historical book of a young Arizona
Although much of this is totally un-relatable because these things don’t happen anymore….it was a good book. I would not have been a successful pioneer, I am just not tough enough. I really liked the character and I kept wanting her life to be easier.
Shows how rough life was in the 1800s. Great book.
The writing was superb here as we journeyed with the main character to her new home and followed her life as a homesteader. Other characters were vivid and the story kept you wanting to read more.
I felt as though I was there with them on the journey A very good read.
I read this book several years ago–was delighted to read this again. I loved Sara, and I love watching/reading her grow and succeed in many things in her life. I love the look at history that this gives, we learn so much about the west, and Indian fighting, and settlers. What joy to see these wonderful characters live, and weep, and joy, and …
Interesting story about old west
One of my favorite books!
I really enjoyed this book and it gave me a real sense of what the pioneers went through when our country was settled. It makes me appreciate all we have now.
I loved it that it was in the words of the person who lived the story which was so typical of those who settled the West.
Very good. Good insight into what early settlers endured and how they dealt with it. Very hard to put down.
