Excellent book. Hard to put down. Captures you and sucks you in.
Loved this story and didn’t want it to end. Historical fiction about the western territory at it’s best! Wonderful heart warming characters set in a harsh land.
One of the best characters I’ve ever read about; Sarah is so alive, so straight-forward & so determined that I can’t wait to read the next two books.
Now here’s a book I liked. I felt like I knew the characters and look forward to the next in the series.
One of the best book that I’ve read! I admire the courage and strength these pioneers faced daily. I loved every page!
One of the best books read lately. Loved it.
I really liked this book. If you like books about living in the old days and what families went through in those days, with love & romance thrown in…..this is a good book to read. Clean reading book too.
These Is My Words is one of my all-time favorite books. I love that it’s based on the author’s relative, and has such realistic, detailed world-building for what it was like for homesteaders early in American history. The love story is so tender and sweet, yet turbulent at times (makes me think of an enemies to lovers sort of romance) and is …
This is a first book in a series of three written by Nancy E Turner. I must say these books are always going to be my favorite bookshelf. I have never read books written in a journal Style. It starts in the 1800’s and finishes in the early 1900s. The story of the life of Sarah Agnes Prine. It starts when Sarah is 17 years old with her family …
Loved this book!! It’s one I’ll read again. One of my favorites, a book to cherish. Certainly can see why it’s been called beloved by many. Highly recommend!!
Simple but eloquent writing, a story line that makes you want to keep reading, and characters that you really care about.
I read this book followed by her two sequels. Very different than most other books I’ve read and learned about what life was like settling in the West in the mid 1800 s.
One of my favorites.
This is a historical fiction piece about Sarah who traveled to the west in the late 1880s. She is a teenager at the beginning of the story – traveling with her family to find a new home. The story is written as her journal – keeping track of her journey as she becomes a young woman, gets married, has children, and settles into her new life in …
Main character had no idea what a strong young woman she was. Times were hard for her family but she managed to survive and keep moving forward . Great story!!
This book is based on the journals of a woman who settled in the Arizona territory in the 1800’s. It is followed h two additional books and I highly recommend all three.
This is a fictional diary about western settlement in Texas and Arizona. I really liked the well developed characters and found it an entertaining historical read.
An account of Sarah journey with family from New Mexico to Phoenix thru Tucson on to San Anglo Texas and back to Tucson AZ. They faced attacks from Indians as well not so nice men of European decent. It tells of her courtship with Capt. Jack. As well as starting her ranch. She is a crack shot an a hard worker. The last chapter of the book …
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were all very believable and engaging. The author captured the setting of early Arizona and Texas and what the early settlers went thru to establish the communities. Great Book! Well Done.
One of the better books that I have read. Was about three quarters of the way thru and couldn’t wait to finish so I could start reading it again. So well written.
