It’s a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone. Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more … trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help. Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder — would they be better off staying here forever? Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it. The first in a sweeping science fiction trilogy, These Broken Stars is a timeless love story about hope and survival in the face of unthinkable odds.

I absolutely loved this well written, original, story and characters!! Great world building! Cannot wait to read the rest of this series!!
A nice escape into a future adventure, I enjoyed it.
This is one of those suspenseful, potentially tragic stories that had me skipping to the last page just to check things out (bad habit, I know). The usual angsty teen romance is replaced with “are we going to survive?” and there’s plenty of intrigue. Well worth a read.
I’m on a Spooner and Kaufmann binge. Who’s with me?
This book is a great start to an amazing series! It is one of those few books that has you crying like a baby, but still smiling at the end. Happy reading!
A first book introduction to a new world… enjoyed the characters, circumstances, adventure and relationship building… Book 2 this week!
Let’s be honest, I would have bought this book just for the cover. Amie and Meaghan could have written one word inside the cover and I’d still love it! Luckily, they wrote more than that. And any fan of YA scifi/adventure/mystery should check this one out. Now, I’m not a huge romance fan, I like there to be a romance story running through the plot …
This first book in the series totally captivated me from beginning to end. I had no idea what was going to happen and it kept me guessing all the way through. Lilac and Tarver were great characters who grew and changed throughout the story, making me want to follow them to solve the mystery of the planet where they crash land. I loved this book so …
Nope. These Broken Stars was not for me. I do pat myself on the back for actually finishing this book because I really found it to be boring and didn’t quite interest me. I’m a sucker a survival story and all the crazy things that were happening were interesting, just not enough. I felt the romance was forced and I didn’t connect with these …
The book was very boring to me and dragged towards the love the characters.
Lovely story with a interesting twist at the end.
Only once in a while, does a book shave a few decades off my aged brain and cause me to run around screaming like a teenager, out of my mind obsessed. I tell everyone about it, down to the random lady counting her coupons in front of me at Market Basket. Really – I did, though she eyed me warily, debating whether to taser my weird butt.
I tell …
This is an EXCELLENT story!
Original. Captivating. You won’t see the end coming.
Had me hooked. Very interesting but found slightly lacking at the end. Wanted to know a little more about how they ended up!
