“Anyone watching could see the immense love our souls share. Is that love enough?”
Well, apparently I don’t belong in rock-n-roll cuz I’m a cryer. And this series is putting my emotions through the wringer. All that shit you read in the media about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll is definitely included in this story. Henley is devastated and acting out. The music helps, but it’s not enough to heal her broken heart.
The more I read the more I love this author’s writing style. She doesn’t hold back or sugar coat things. She writes flawed characters that make me want to throw my Kindle and hug them at the same time. I feel their pain and their passion. I feel the lyrics and music. I feel the love the bandmates have for each other. I feel their helplessness when it’s not enough. I feel frustrated when things don’t go the way I envision them and I have to watch these characters that I’ve bonded with suffering.
I’m really enjoying the songwriting and music details included in this series. It’s something I’m really interested in and reading about it makes me happy. I adore the support characters in this story and hope that every single one of them eventually finds love. Hell, I’d be happy if Henley comes out of this one. She’s given me even more gray hair and my nails are nubs. As I’m sure you’ve already guessed, this isn’t the end and the author left me hanging with my heart in my throat on the final page. So, I’m headed to Amazon to one-click on Walking Back to Georgia to feed my addiction.
The ride continues!
Henley was left hanging on the edge of something awful that shook her up so bad at the end of the previous book, Broken. What was this thing the drove her to her knees? Well, not saying!
No spoilers here, not from this reader, but let me assure you, there is plenty more drama and angst that carries over from Broken into There’s No Crying in Rock and Roll. What else would you expect from these volatile rockers and their crazy friends. Some of their antics, especially from Kip, that guy has the wackiest and delightfully ridiculous sense of humor. Having a best friend like him would sure keep you guessing..some great moments of undying friendship with him and Henley just when she needs him the most. I love this guy.
Henley and Jagger have some serious $h!t to work out, but really… can everything that was said and done in the name of love be accepted, forgotten or dealt with??? Hmmmm…..
I’m left on the edge of another BIG old cliff again, but thank goodness I can and will drop everything to download the next book right now and see what happens next. Sasha Marshall, you are an evil genius and have spun your suspenseful rock and roll web around me now!
5.0 out of 5 starsI read this book a very long time ago but …

Format: Kindle Edition
I read this book a very long time ago but since my reviews keep coming up missing – I will try this again – There isn’t another writer that can pull every emotion under the sun out of her characters and readers, every laugh, tear, heartache, kindle throwing moment is soo definable that you are there right with them. Jagger – You are breaking my friggin heart. I can assure you, that once you become a groupie, you will never forget them.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I am a huge rock romance fan and those are the books I usually stick with so with that being said this series and this book in particular is one of the best of all of them.
I have quite a few rock romance books on my book shelf waiting to be read and I kept bypassing this series for the usual rock romance authors I read. Boy, was that a mistake! Not to take anything anyway from some of the others but I have never gone through all the emotions that are thrown at you in this book as I have with this book/series. Ms. Marshall writes so that you feel totally invested in these people.
There’s No Crying In Rock and Roll takes you to some pretty dark places and I feel as lost as Henley does in some of these situations. When your heart and your head don’t agree it can put you down some roads you probably wouldn’t have went to otherwise.
Besides the dark places you always have Kip!! I don’t know how many laugh out loud moments I had reading this book. You would find yourself very lucky if you had a friend like him. Then there is Koi, a brother that you could only dream of having. He is protective, loving, caring and you share the same interests in music. Memphis comes along in this book and I really like him a lot already. He becomes Henley’s savior because he knows everything she is going through because he has been there himself. And last but not least, Jagger. This is where it gets messy and you can actually feel Henley’s thoughts and emotions when it comes to Jagger.
My only regret is that I usually wait until all the books for a series are completed because I suck at waiting for the next to come out. It says a lot when you know you have that wait but the people in this series stays on your mind and it’s hard to let it go. I really hope Ms. Marshall will continue writing rock romance books because I would definitely put her as a #1 author to read. There is still so much that can be told about the other characters in this book and I can only hope she goes down this path.
