Rory Sullivan, a renowned artisan woodworker, has no plans to fall in love anytime soon. Especially not with Zara Mirren, who shares a converted warehouse space with him in Bar Harbor, Maine. While she is a brilliant maker¿the eyeglasses frames she designs are practically works of art¿everything else about her drives him bonkers. The way she¿s always whistling cheesy pop songs off-key. The way … way her half-drunk cups of coffee litter every available countertop.

The best thing about a Bella Andre book is that you just feel good while reading it and when you are done you smile. Rory and Zara’s story is a sweet romance. This is not an enemies to lover’s story…it’s more like an irritants to lover’s story. Zara is fierce, irreverent, loyal and deep down suffering from guilt and pain. Rory is funny, gorgeous, talented and kind. He too suffers needlessly from guilt. Never in a million years did they think they would fall for one another but Fate had other plans. Together they help each other heal.
Every time Bella Andre comes out with a new Sullivan book, I get giddy. There Goes My Heart has all of the typical Andre hallmarks we’ve come to expect: sexy hero, strong heroine, swoon-worthy romance, humor, emotional storyline, deep family roots and the perfect happily-ever-after ending. Rory Sullivan is the perfect hero—-he encompasses everything that romance readers look for in a main character and then some. He made me swoon something fierce! I also loved Zara—she’s strong and independent with a wickedly fun sense of humor. The witty banter between Rory and Zara was thoroughly entertaining and super entertaining! I loved the family connections that we once again experienced throughout. The Sullivans are the epitome of the perfect family and I love their relationships with one another. Andre created the perfect story for Rory and Zara and I can’t wait to see who gets the next book in the Maine Sullivan series! 5 stars
There Goes My Heart is a wonderful romance filled with fun, laughter, and of course family. Rory and Zara are perfect together, from the bantering to the romance. Zara is a strong, sassy, independent woman and Rory just compliments her so well. What a great addition to the Sullivan series.
This is the story of Rory and Zara…the 20th book in the fabulous Sullivan series (2nd of the Maine Sullivans). Though it absolutely can be read as a standalone, the overall story is only enhanced if you’ve read any of the previous book in the series. Rory Sullivan and Zara Mirren are talented artists (he works with wood and she makes original frames for glasses) who have known each other for about a year and work together, along with other artists, in a converted warehouse in Bar Harbor, Maine. Since almost the moment they met, their relationship was antagonistic…always getting under each other’s skin. Not even friends for the most part.
Until one morning when Zara learns her stepsister is getting married (to her ex-boyfriend) and she loses it. Rory steps in immediately and takes care of her that day as well as agreeing to be her date to their upcoming engagement party. And the sparks start flying!! They both realize that they are attracted to each other but both carry incredible baggage from past relationships as well as Zara still dealing from the death of her mother when she was a teenager. Over that fateful weekend, they become a lot closer and Rory wants more than just a weekend but neither is ready to admit to the other how they truly feel about each other and they both need to deal with their past.
It’s a wonderful story of lust, love, friendship, family, support, forgiveness, laughter….you will laugh, you will swoon, you will cry and you will cheer. Will these two be able to finally overcome their issues from their pasts, move beyond them and allow themselves to truly find love and their own happy-ever-after? I won’t spoil their story but once you start, you will not be able to put it down through all their trials and tribulations…it’s a wonderful visit with the Sullivan family and becoming reacquainted with many of Rory’s fabulous siblings just makes you ready to read the next book in the series.
A sweetly thrilling, sexy yet emotional romantic journey filled with love, longing, witty banter and passion…. a exciting and highly entertaining read from beginning to end that will leave you breathless. I really enjoyed this adventure and am looking forward to my next visit.
ARC for honest review with no compensation
There Goes My Heart is book 2 of the Maine Sullivan’s and book 20 in the Sullivans series by Bella Andre and a swoon worthy read about Rory and Zara!
Zara and Rory have been working in the same artisan building for the past year, she makes designer glasses frames and he does woodworking and getting on each other’s last nerve. Lots of bantering, bickering and sparks but both are down on love and HEA. Zara moved to Bar Harbor over a year ago after her sister and her boyfriend at the time decided to get together…now she received notification that they are engaged so she decided to get tipsy and spill on what happened to Rory. He decides to go with her to the engagement party for moral support and they become a “pretend couple”…except with sparks flying, a deeper passion, undercurrent that’s been ignored and an emotional connection that’s been ignored they might just turn the “pretend” into a “real” couple and find their HEA when they least expect it!
Funny, steamy, bantering, tears and emotions galore makes you want to keep reading til it done!!
I received this ARC for an honest review. This is my second favorite book from Bella Andre. My first is “The Look of Love”, but this story is a very close second. You have feel Bella’s passion for Rory and especially Zara. Zara creates designer frames for glasses, and Rory is a furniture builder. They met because they both rent warehouse space in the same building. Rory and Zara met on her first day there because according to Rory, “Zara parked in his spot”. They fought everyday since then. Zara received an invite to her step sister’s engagement party to Zara’s ex-boyfriend (who cheated on Zara with her step sister). Zara is upset and got drunk at work. Luckily, Rory found Zara and took her to his house to let her sleep it off. Rory offered to go the party with Zara as her new boyfriend. Does sparks fly? What happens next??? Not going to tell you…You must read the book to find out. I DO recommend. This will go in my re-read pile.
Love Rory and Zara, there story is very magical.
Time to return to Bar Harbor, Maine to visit with the Sullivans. I just love a big family saga. This family will steal your heart because they have support, love, and respect each and every one of their siblings along with their parents. All members of the Sullivan family are not only great looking but their beauty is not just skin deep. Every character that Bella Andre creates in this series has strength, courage, beauty (not just on the outside), and innate sense of caring/helping others when the need arises whether the character is a Sullivan or not. There Goes My Heart by Bella Andre is Rory and Zara’s story. For a year now Rory and Zara have been irritating/sparring with each because they thought they really disliked the other but, in reality they were beginning to fall for each other without realizing it. Rory is a master woodworker while Zara designs very fashionable and unique eyeglass frames. Rory finds Zara one morning pretty tipsy in their buildings’ breakroom. Turns out Zara was reacting to her step-sisters engagement announcement to her ex-boyfriend. Rory learns several personal things about Zara and decides to step in to help. They decide to be a pretend couple to show Zara’s step-sister and ex-boyfriend that she has moved on. As Zara and Rory spend time with each other that night and the next week they both begin to realize that they are falling for each other pretty hard. Both, Rory and Zara have some pretty deep scars that they must face and overcome before their HEA is possible. Will they face those fears to find their forever happiness or will the wall of fear stay standing? Read There Goes My Heart to find out. I love this series and total recommend any Bella Andre book for a fun read/escape into another world where HEAs are always possible. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. If you love big family sagas, hot alphas, strong/beautiful women, then you will enjoy this book by Bella Andre. 5 stars*****
There Goes My Heart (Maine Sullivans #2) by Bella Andre has stolen my heart. I am a devoted fan of the Sullivans but still have my favorites and this book quickly took its place at number 3 for me. Rory is such a sweetheart and Zara is a beautiful young woman missing only self-confidence. What could make for a better romance? Well- drawn characters, steamy love scenes, and good story to boot. That is all that needs to be said about There Goes My Heart. Read it. You will love it. Read all the Sullivan books. They will steal your heart.
I so want to be a Sullivan! This family never disappoints me and Bella does an incredible job of bringing them to life. And not some ideal, perfect family life, but a real life with demons and triumphs, with love and suspicion but in the end, it is always about family and love.
This is the introduction to the Maine siblings. Rory is a wood furniture maker, a freelance artist who is recovering from a tragedy but getting by. Part of his “therapy” is the witty banter he shares with his one of his artists in residence, Zara, the pretty but smart mouthed eyeglass maker. When their paths finally collide and he has a chance to get to know her, the fireworks are exploding. But can the past ever stay away long enough to explore their future?
Even if you haven’t read any of the earlier Sullivan family stories, this is easy enough to read as a stand alone. But if you are looking for an incredible family saga, with love, heat and very real people, read the rest of the Sullivan series.
If you haven’t started the Sullivan series, you’re truly missing out. This is definitely a binge-worthy series, and one of my all-time favorites. There Goes My Heart, book 20 in the series, and book 3 in the Maine family series, follows Rory Sullivan and Zara Mirren. Having worked in the same building for a year, the two constantly bicker back and forth, but they’ve both been harboring feelings for each other that don’t come to light until Zara finds out her stepsister is marrying her ex-boyfriend. Rory volunteers to accompany Zara to their wedding as her fake boyfriend, but it isn’t fake for long. One thing I love about Bella’s stories is how sweet, sensual and romantic they are. This series has deep family values, and they love so completely it’s hard not to wish you were one of them.
Another sweet, sensual, romantic success for Bella Andre. This can be read as a standalone. I do think if you read the previous book, you will get a better sense of how Rory and Zara were so antagonistic working in the same general space.
I liked Zara. She was creative, smart, and sassy. I did think it was strange that she reacted to her sister like she did based on their situation. By the time the book ends, you understand her vulnerability and from where it comes.
I liked Rory also. He would like about how wonderful he was, but with Zara, you could see that hint of vulnerability. Zara helped Rory come to terms with his past, just as he helped her.
The Sullivan family rallied around again with all of the love, loyalty, and support anyone could ask for in life. I also found it interesting that both Rory’s ex and Zara’s sister benefited from Rory and Sara being together. Some healing did finally occur. Rory and Zara were sarcastic, witty, sexy, and full of fun. I enjoyed the parts were they were with Ruby.
Zara and Rory do end up with their HEA, and you will end up with a smile. definitely 4.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
I loved this book. It’s great on how Rory comes to Zara’s rescue. They didn’t seem to really like each other at first. But wow, the sparks sure fly once they kiss. But can they be more? Will she take a chance on being in a real relationship? Loved how they help each other heal, it’s very by. I highly recommend this book.
On the surface, they’re enemies. Underneath, perhaps not.
Rory and Zara are emotionally just getting by. They both have issues in their pasts that keep them from believing they deserve to have happy lives.
Zara, who designs custom glasses frames and shares an artist’s workspace with Rory, who is a master woodworker, and some other artisans, is having an adult meltdown. Champagne and chagrin are not what one should do without a net!
Rory, always the gentleman, decides to help Zara by getting her out of sight before their workspace friends come in and ask questions. Truth comes from the bottom of the bottle and suddenly, Rory and Zara working together toward a happily ever after they never saw coming!
I loved both Rory and Zara. They were snarky and loving and honest with each other. I love that there was no angst between the two of them, although there is some tension and misunderstandings. Their ability to talk to each other keeps these issues from becoming blown out of proportion and I loved that.
We get to hear a bit about some of the other Sullivan’s and what they’re doing now. Although they’re mentioned in one conversation, it’s more as an explanation of the large family Rory comes from. There Goes My Heart is totally a standalone novel, although I don’t know why someone wouldn’t want to read all the Sullivan family books!
A great read and I can’t wait for the rest of the Maine Sullivan’s stories!
PHENOMENAL!!! Pure and simply put, phenomenal. I have been hooked on the Sullivan series by Bella Andre for a very long time. I know over the past few years my dearest wish is to become a member of the Sullivan family, and the latest release by Bella Andre, There Goes My Heart has brought that thought more to heart. I just love that every Sullivan is always there for another family member, no matter what.
Rory Sullivan and Zara Mirren are absolutely perfect together. I love their history, and I think that this is what made them perfect together. They just feed off the other, and in my opinion, the sniping… just a precursor for what was to come. Sorry Ladies, I do not want to give anything away, but I still think Brittany is an uncaring b….er a witch!!
One of my favorite things about this story was seeing Baby Ruby again, has done it again… Stolen some of the show and made the one more aspect of the story wonderful. I think she brought Rory and Zara closer to each other.
I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my reading pleasure, and I cannot wait for it to be also released in audio form so I can purchase it and listen to this wonderful book over and over again, just like the rest of the series!!!!
Thank you, Ms. Andre for sharing your phenomenal writing talents with your readers. I cannot tell you the hours and hours of reading pleasure you and your books have given me over the last few years.
Thank you for reading my review. I really believe you can’t go wrong purchasing this book. I know you will enjoy it as much as I have.
Loved Rory and Zara’s witty banter!!! They appear to really dislike each other but…. When these two go as “fake girlfriend/boyfriend” to her ex’s and stepsister’s engagement party (couldn’t stand either one of them) things start to really change. This was a really sweet romance with tons of heat – be prepared in case you aren’t expecting it- but also a story about forgiveness and truly loving someone. I love the Sullivan series and this is my favorite. The ending was amazing.
Romance So Sweet!
Bella Andre has created a wonderful world with the Sullivans and this family is just freaking amazing!
In the latest of the Sullivan Series (The Maine Sullivans), There Goes My Heart, we learn more about Rory who is wood artist creating amazing furniture and I just found him and his profession to be so sexy. Rory is a family guy with a heart of gold and lives in a wonderful lighthouse. He just made me all gooey.
Zara is also an artist. She creates unique frames for glasses. She’s a bit quirky, strong and well, she has spent the past year sparing with Rory since they work in a shared warehouse.
Rory, being the perfect prince charming comes quickly to Zara’s rescue when she finds herself in a bind and the story takes off from there. I won’t give any more details because you just gotta read the story. It’s a fast and fun read with family, snarky comments, crazy situations and crazy exs.
If you’ve ever read Bella Andre before you know she writes sweet romances with characters that overcome personal odds. This is another great Sullivan read that I’ve fallen in love with.
Please note that you can read each Sullivan book as a standalone, but I think once you read one, you will want to binge on the entire family.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.
Love the story of Rory and Zara… full of love, life and laugh… A wonderful book about ladies who wear glasses… 5 stars
