Rory Sullivan, a renowned artisan woodworker, has no plans to fall in love anytime soon. Especially not with Zara Mirren, who shares a converted warehouse space with him in Bar Harbor, Maine. While she is a brilliant maker¿the eyeglasses frames she designs are practically works of art¿everything else about her drives him bonkers. The way she¿s always whistling cheesy pop songs off-key. The way … way her half-drunk cups of coffee litter every available countertop.

I really liked Rory and Zara much better than I thought that I would. I loved their witty conversations and comebacks. Underneath their “supposed” dislike of each other, lies an extreme attraction and understanding of each other that takes them by surprise. And, of course, we have a whole new Sullivan family to love and want to be a part of. If you’re looking for an easy read with people that you would love to be a part of their lives, then you found it.
There went my heart. Bella Andre has done it again. She has taken two people, lost and alone, and made them perfect together. She had my heart beating faster with every touching moment. I gushed. I sighed. I cried. So many wonderful emotions packed into this wonderful story of two talented Maine Makers.
Rory Sullivan creates gorgeous works of art out of wood. He pours his heart and soul into each and every piece leaving nothing for a woman. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t. There was no way he was getting involved with a woman. He couldn’t handle it. Not again.
Zara Mirren has a shop in the same warehouse as Rory Sullivan’s woodwork. She creates frames for eyeglasses, beautiful, unique, special. She keeps herself busy, protected, not seeing the world as she creates a way for others to see the world through her designs.
Rory and Zara have been bickering, nagging, complaining, antagonizing each other for the past year. They are oil and water, under the same roof, crossing paths poking each other. The day Rory walks in on Zara crying everything changes. Rory acts without thinking. His heart is in control and he doesn’t even know it.
What a rush!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching their armors tarnish and crack. I loved how they thought they could prevent the future when they couldn’t control their pasts. I have known so many Rorys and Zaras. To be honest I have been a little like them and maybe that is what is the best about this book. The reader can identify. The characters survived giving us all hope for a better, brighter tomorrow.
Andre certainly knows her way around a heart. She creates characters that chronicle love at it’s most inspiring and heartbreaking. There’s a hint of dreamer and a dash of realism that speaks to us in our most fragile moments. There Goes My Heart is a frenemies romance. Zara and Rory are learning how to trust their feelings, despite the bruises they’ve acquired along the way. It’s in the heartache, that hope begins and love finds the compass to guide these two lost souls home. I’ve said it many times before, but there is no probably in this case, Rory and Zara are my favorite Sullivan couple.
There Goes My Heart is the latest story regarding the Sullivan’s. Rory is one of the Maine Sullivan’s & is just as tough & alpha as all of the others. He feels that he has hurt every women he’s ever had a relationship with. Even though he tells them he isn’t ready to settle down, they all think they can change his mind. After the last one got drunk when they broke up & hurt herself tripping on a curb, both her & her best friend blamed him for her getting hurt. Rory believed them & decided on no more relationships. Only one night stands going forward.
Zara works in the same warehouse that Rory does. From the beginning they have struck sparks off each other. They are constantly arguing & trying to one up each other. Zara is as determined as Rory to avoid relationships. Her step sister stole her boyfriend away. Every time she was interested in someone, when she took them home & they caught sight of her sister, it was the end of them. When she was unable to get out of attending her sister’s engagement party, Rory offered to go with her as long as it was only for one night, not a real relationship.
I love this story! The snarky comebacks & one up man ship often conceals deeper emotions that people try to hide rather than deal with. This really made this story! Both Rory & Zara had obstacles to overcome before they could move forward with their relationship. Rory needed to accept that his girlfriends were responsible for their own hurt since they ignored his feelings. Zara needed to come to terms with her mother’s death & her situation with her step sister. You really need to read this one!
I absolutely adored this amazing read. This endearing romance was sweet, funny and emotional. I thought that Rory and Zara were very likable. The sparks and and banter fly between these two and it is impossible not to feel the intense pull of attraction between these two. A delightful read that gives you all the feels you could ask for.
This is another great read from this author.
Even though this is book twenty in the Sullivans
they are all stand alone.
This book is how Rory finds his true love.
Zara and Rory work in the same building one morning Rory
got to work and found Zara getting absolutely blind drunk he
new strait away there was something up with Zara because she
is usually so bubbly. When he found out the problem he decided to
go with Zara to her stepsister engagement party with her. This is where
The story really starts to find out what I mean you will have to read it yourself
be warn if you haven’t read any of the other books in the Sullivans books you will
won’t to read more of them.
This was such a fantastic read it has you laughing out loud at times but other times
you are reaching for the tissues.
