My name is Theoden, this is the story of my life. Apparently, there has been a huge demand for me to tell it. Normally, I do what I want, unless the command comes from my Sire, Ara. But, revealing the tale about how I became the powerful vampire Prince of the City is something I think I will enjoy telling. You’ll see my first mission for the church, my first kill, the life-changing moment when I … I lost my virginity, and how I chose my first son, all of the things that mean something to me, that made me the vampire I am. So, sit back, and give me all of your attention, as I want your eyes on me. Now, let’s begin.
Prepare to be entertained to new heights as Theoden delivers you a unique tale of his life from childhood to the vampire Master you know him to be.
Warning: This is a prequel to the highly erotic, extremely dark and twisted New Haven Series and the spin-off, Odin Chronicles. I can’t stress enough how strong the sexual, violent, and adult content is in this book. It will steam up your glasses, and melt your contact lenses. The temperature in the room will rise to unbearable degrees. Pearls will be clutched and you may utter the words: “Oh my God” several times while reading. You have been warned. For mature readers only.

Theoden is the prequel to the New Haven series, and a wonderful introduction to the series and Nicholas Bella’s writing. This book is not for the faint of heart – take the trigger and content warnings seriously. The world building is fascinating, but the world of New Haven series is dark and twisted ruled by vampiric morality. This means that there is a lot of violence, blood, and human suffering – no punches were pulled or soften.
This book follows the life of Theoden, from his childhood, both as a human and as a vampire, to his growth into a dangerous and powerful vampire lord. I found it riveting to follow Theoden’s journey from his point of view. The transformation was intense and dark with both cruel and painful moments as well as some surprising tenderness and love. I found the storytelling thrilling, and the writing style flowed very well. This was an intense and dark read, but so well written and captivating.
The audiobook, narrated by Christian J. Gilliland, was fantastic. Christian did an amazing job bringing this book to life. His performance was spectacular, and he was able to bring the characters alive with just the right amount of emotions and energy. I was hanging onto every word. Overall, this was a well done audiobook with quality production and narration.
When you’re smiling and squirming at the opening credit, you know you’re in a hell of a ride.
That voice, hmm, I can’t get over it, it is so hot! And narrating my ultimate favorite vampire’s book? Holy hell, I’m surprised I’m not a puddle on the floor. It was so hot!
“I couln’t believe how drastically my life had changed. I went from being a virgin to having sex with multiple men, and in orgies, no less.”
I love this book so much, Theoden’s story is really good. I love his journey, he had an interesting life and he went through so much. So good to see him in those kind of situation when he was just a young thing. Ara and Tylendel, oh god, those two with Theoden! Love them. Tylendel and Theoden’s relationship is still one of my favorite, and I love how Ara handled everything.
“I was looking forward to having sex with Tylendel again. He was the first man to ever enter me, and the memory of his cock inside of my was still fresh in my mind.”
“I didn’t think anything could break me, but I had been wrong. Ara broke me.”
Theoden with Nolan was hot too. Some hate fucking but enjoying the hell out of it. When Nolan rimmed Theoden, oh god.
Theoden went through everything just the same as when he put his boys through those things. Theoden is the strongest and the most badass motherfucker out there, and I fight everyone who says otherwise.
Loved listening to the audiobook and you sure as hell I will re-listen to it many times in the future. That voice with this book – holy hell. Pearls clutching indeed. And don’t get me started on the Marco/Theoden fucking. WOW.
Amazing!! Nicholas in his ever-present style and talent brings that bit of history, that bit of damn and OMFG! that is simply just Mr. Bella.
Theoden brings the series all together so detailed and full or the characters’Nicholas Bella past to bring us to the present. The Prince of the City reminded me in some ways of his boy Noel, how he started in life all hard and set with benevolent righteousness.
I very much enjoyed the history lesson of the twelve told by Ara and we get a bit more insight on the King as well. We can see where Theoden gets his calculating experience from. Ara is no one to mess with. Of course, my favorite dragon showed not only his face but mmm yeah. Tylendel what’s not to love about the hot as hell dragon? His personality so suits him.
A full-length novel that was hard to put down and I lost a few hours of sleep (smiles) a wonderful blend of story, character, IDGAF dirty dirty hot scenes. So very well worth the wait to get Theoden’s story. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and enjoyed it immensely consider it recommended.

Oh, dear.
This book just didn’t do it for me.
It started out really well. I love historical books and this one seemed interesting.
The characters were believable and my heart went out to poor little Theoden when he was describing how lonely he was as a child.
However, at around page 40 when things were just starting to get sexy (I love a m/m sex scene) it started to get a little…crazy.
There was a lot of arg’s and Ooh’s. It was starting to sound like some kind of pirate gang bang in my head, “Arg, me hearty. That’s not where yer peg leg goes!”. And it just kept repeating. I don’t think I’ve ever said “Oooh, aaarg, ahhh” during sex.
As you know, I love the sex scenes but in this book? It was all sex scenes without any oomph to them. It was just constant fucking.
F**king to punish, f**king to reward, f**king to change him into a vampire, f**king to change him into a dragon, f**king to teach him, f**king because he was the youngest in the “family”…you get me?
There was no build-up, no anticipation, no depth to it.
Also, they kept calling his a*se a c**t. Everyone was going to f**k his c*nt…is this something that is well known to everyone else other than me?
Sorry, guys I just couldn’t get past page 100.

I adore Theoden. Reading his story made it for me.
