From New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a standalone contemporary romance about trusting fate and finding yourself again.Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need. His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own. But he taught me things I’d forgotten. How to trust. How to … own.
But he taught me things I’d forgotten.
How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.
The problem?
I went and fell in love with him.

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.
Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.
She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.
I was only supposed to be there six months.
I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.
Instead I fell in love with her.

No one does it better than K. Bromberg! What an amazing book and exactly what I needed. Highly recommended.
Honestly, K. Bromberg had me at the dedication….
“This book is dedicated to the broken ones: To the person with a broken heart. To the reader whose trust has been broken. To the woman feeling broken because she lost sight of who she was for a moment. You’re not alone. Keep your heart under lock and key. Keep your trust guarded Keep your chin up. One day this will all be just a memory. The hurt. The lack of confidence. The loss of self. Hopefully you will rediscover your own resolve as you watch Tatum stand her ground. Hopefully Jack will help you realize that trust can be given again. Hopefully the two of them will give you hope that love can be found again”…K. Bromberg
She hooked me there and didn’t let go until the last word. Tate and Jack’s story isn’t easy. Tate has been emotionally hurt, broken to a point even. But she is strong. She’s left to pick up the pieces and save a dream that wasn’t even hers. Jack is a bit lost himself. He’s made a promise to his dying father. It turned out to not be as simple as he thought it.
K. Bromberg has this way of developing characters with such depth, with flaws and with feeling. You can’t help but love them, cry for and celebrate the victories. I absolutely loved watching their fight for their HEA. It was beautiful and poignant.

K. Bromberg giving us a sexy, mysterious cowboy? And a strong ass heroine? I am all over it! I always have crazy high expectations for this author and she surely did not fail me with this emotional love story. This is my first 5 star read of 2020 so that should tell you how much I enjoyed this one. Get ready because Jack and Tate’s fateful story will find a special place in your heart!
Then You Happened is a standalone enemies-to-lovers novel and it focuses on the second chance at love for Tatum Knox and Jack Sutton. Tatum (Tate) left her wealthy family life after falling in love with Fletcher. Years later, she is now a widow, with lots of money problems, living in a town where people do not like her and living without many motivation. Enter Jack. Jack is her new ranch manager, he is secretive and sexy as hell and that makes these two instantly hate each other. Both hurt by past experiences, they are afraid to trust anyone but fate and chemistry get in the way and falling in love is unstoppable.
All of these feelings, these realizations, within me came to life the minute he stepped on my porch.
The minute he somehow entered my life.
This book feels a little bit different from what we have read from Kristy before and I was so ready for it. Still in this author’s style and with emotions running high, Then You Happened was an outstanding romance to read. I loved peeling the layers of these two people, seeing them vulnerable after suffering so many things and trying not to feel the connection between them. The back and forth between Tate and Jack was awesome and when that chemistry exploded it was burning hot.
Restraint snaps.
Gentle. Soft. Slow—cease to exist.
Now. Need. Hard.
It’s all I can think.
All I can feel.
Until I can’t think.
I mean, are you surprised? K. Bromberg definitely knows how to create incredibly deep characters and write explosive and gripping sex scenes. It was beautiful to see this couple start trusting each other and falling completely in love. And there is even some drama and some secrets mixed in there and it was surely surprising and entertaining to me! Things get difficult for Tate and Jack for a while towards the end but their connection is too strong to break. I just loved these two together!
“Today is the day you own your wild.”
Therefore, I am rating Then You Happened with 5 STARS because it was a fantastic reading experience, especially due to these two complex characters that I really loved together. The feelings between them run high and that chemistry was mind-blowing. I really adored Jack and Tate, both as individuals and a couple. I am so glad they found each other and their deserved happy ever after. If you love hate to love stories and K. Bromberg’s style, you should definitely read this one!
I have been so looking forward to this new book from Kristy and OMG she didn’t disappoint me. Once I started I was 100% hooked and heaven help anyone that interrupted me and expected me to adult!
This was different from her other books and I loved it so much. Kristy knocked it out of the park with this one. Her writing was flawless and she poured so much raw and real emotions into this one. I laughed, I cried and I really wanted to head to this small town of Lone Star and beat the residents for their treatment of Tatum!
Tatum has become one of my favourite heroines in this one. This girl and been beaten down and abandoned by the people that were supposed to love her. Understandably she doesn’t trust anyone as people are lining up to kick her even more when shes down. Despite all this she is so amazingly strong, stronger then she actually thinks as she’s still standing!
Jack, I loved him but didn’t trust him to start. I couldn’t work out his motives. I loved his tough alpha-male persona but I could understand why Tatum had her walls sky high and defensive. I’m glad Jack actually looked beyond the rumours and lies to see the truth and showed her that he had her back.
When Jack and Tatum finally get together I loved their connection and chemistry. It was off the charts hot even when they were denying it and challenging each other. They honestly were perfect together.
Well done Kristy Bromberg for this amazing emotional and heartbreaking story. She brought these characters to life beautifully cementing her place as one of my favourite 1-click authors.
4.5 stars
I’m a big lover of Kristy’s romance and I’m so happy to add another great couple to my list of favorites from her. This time is a sexy cowboy,Jack Sutton and a feisty, sassy heroine, Tatum Knox.
Then You Happened was emotional and full of passion. It’s a second chance at life story. A story of finding yourself and fight for what your heart wants.
The story was in a small town were everyone was on each other’s business. The scenery of Ranch Knox was spectacular with the beautiful land and horses. Kristy’s writing will let you transport right into it. The secondary characters that will make you laugh. I love them as much as the main characters. Fingers cross Kristy will write about them too.
Jack and Tatum banter was so good. You know the type that they get on each other’s nerves but can’t seen to be apart for one second. It was really fun and infuriatingly delicious watching them denied their attraction.
The romantic parts were passionate and REALLY sexy hot. Love the chemistry between them. The emotional parts made me teary eye. I could feel their pain in my bones. I love it when an author can transmit those deep feelings and lets you connect and relate to the main characters.
You guys want a new cowboy to ride, you definitely need Jack Sutton in your life.
A new emotional enemies-to-lovers standalone by K. Bromberg, Then You Happened, this was a solid 4 star read for me. I have to say that Jack’s personality really pulled through in getting Tate to knock down her barriers. These two were as opposite as they could get, but their chemistry was absolutely explosive!
The back and forth, the banter, the undeniable attraction for one another was out of this world. I never expected Tate to hold on for so long, but I knew exactly where she was coming from. She’s wildly independent and has such a spit-fire attitude. But the trust she lacks in people is unreal, you’ll be wondering from the very beginning how Jack tore down her walls.
I absolutely hated how everyone and everything was against her, but that’s where her strength truly lie. And Jack quickly became one of her strongest supporters. No matter how hard he tried to fight he, he was so loyal to her and the ranch.
They definitely didn’t expect to fall in love with each other, but it happened and it was a glorious sight. So why the 4, I was hoping for more of an update on the family front for Tate. And there were times where I pulled out of the story when it came to some of their inner dialogue and many debates with each other.
Other than, such a great read and can’t recommend it enough.

They say it’s better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?
Seriously, every time I read K. Bromberg author’s books, she’s doing something magical to my heart because her written words aim straight at my heart and stay there forever.
I’m glad that I’ve started February with Than You Happened book. It was my first rodeo with country cowboy story and I was afraid that it won’t be my thing but I freaking loved it.
We’re stepping into the small Lone Star town with lots of secrets. K. Bromberg prepared for us really good and profound story with great romance, but I think I wasn’t emotionally ready for what was waiting for me further. So many twists and turns in the story with betrayals, promises, revenge and complicated love, hooked me to the story but wrecked my emotions at the same time. I was smitten by the plot and my emotions were all over the place the entire time that I was reading this book.
At the young age Tatum made a hard decision to leave everything behind. She was promised happy ever after, but when years went by , her choice brought her pain, sorrow, anxiety and broken heart. She was very strong heroine but deep down, she was losing herself and put up high walls around her heart. When she was trying to find herself again, faith crossed her path with Jack’s, but you know how tricky it could be.
Jack was a hero I could easily get marry to. Handsome, masculine and he knew what it means to work hard.
I could feel Tate and Jack’ strong chemistry from the moment they’ve met and their invisible connection, but their relationship was far from perfection.
They were struggling with their own past life and were trying to find the right path to their future.
We could witness as their slow burn feelings started to appear on the surface and they’re slowly losing the battle with their affection.
But how they’re going to stop those feelings, once all the secrets will come out of the shadows?
This story tugged at my heart strings in every way possible. I was very emotional and teared up at the end of this book. Get ready for a compelling and captivating read.

K. Bromberg continuously manages to blow me away with her talented storytelling writing skills that etch a forever place in my heart with her modern day fairytales.
Then You Happened…. this slow burn read makes you feel the heat right off the cover! Hope, uncertainty and determination collides with promises, amendments and finding yourself.
Tate, the wildheart heroine is just as much as a hero, if not more than Jack, the sexy cowboy in this epic written story. The beautifully damaged, torn and broken pieces of the main characters create an imperfectly perfect love story that is uniquely theirs, even in a world that nothing is a sure thing.
Then You Happened is definitely the NEXT best thing in 2020!! So don’t miss out on riding… errr reading about a cowboy and wildheart.
Then You Happened is the story of Tate and Jack, two complex characters who led us on a journey of coming to terms with dealing with what life throws at you. The relationship between Tate and Jack is a rollercoaster of emotions, the ups and downs, the sexiness and the unexpected turn of events had me tearing through the pages, ready for what was coming next. This slow-burn romance is full of feels and one that I won’t forget.
Who doesn’t love a little cowboy in their life
Jack came into this ranch ready to roll his sleeves up and get cracking on to fulfil the contract he signed up for! What he wasn’t prepared for was a woman who on face value was ready to stand up to anyone who tries to step on her toes.
Tate, when putting out her advertisement for a new ranch manager never did she think she’d find someone who’s Willing to give as much as her, and then some.
The struggle starts to become clear when there’s two very strong willed, head strong people looking for the same result but, how completely different methods of getting there.
But who holds all the cards and who’s bitten off note that they can chew!!!!
I liked the side characters in this book Fiona was hilarious and I definitely think there’s something there from her to tell us and something will is hiding that we want to know.
It took me a while to get into reading TYH it was a slow burner for me and took a while longer to get to the story I was looking forward to hear about I felt some of the intensity between Jack & Tate but I felt it was lacking the spark I normally feel from a Bromberg book.
3.5
4.5 Stars
Jack and Tatum absolutely, should not, 100% definitely are not the kind of people who should be attracted to one another. And, oddly, I think this is why they are unable to ignore the attraction.
They try. She is struggling against odds she created and odds that were given to her in the way life often does…and he has things going on with his family that are calling him to return home and not help Tatum.
This is one of those books that is all about the characters, their reactions, and the way they relate to one another. And, that makes it hard to review without spoilers. So, I am not going to talk about the plot…I am going to talk about how I felt reading it…
Engaged.
Curious.
Interested.
Connected.
I enjoyed this title. I wanted them to work. I related to the reluctant attraction they feel for one another, and when they finally did allow themselves to act on it, I related to the moment where they are simultaneous thrilled with the things happening between them and questioning where to go next, what to do now…and how to react to the other person.
I enjoyed the connection they had and the way the author explored the complexity of that connection. This wasn’t simple, or easy. It wasn’t about 2 people who meet and being together is without complications…rather it was about 2 people who meet and can’t think of anywhere they would rather be…even though there are a lot of complications.
First off, I always enjoy a book by this author as she is an instant one-click – no reading blurb author. That said, I enjoyed the banter between Jack and Tatum and although I would have liked the ending to be a bit less rushed, I still enjoyed their story as it was not just a man meets woman who fall for one another, but also had a deeper meaning to it. The search of a woman’s self worth… If you haven’t read this author yet, I’d definitely recommend this one 🙂
After Tatum’s husband died, everything seemed to fall apart around her as she now has a ranch to take care of. Without any help of the small town members, she tries to keep afloat but nothing seems to work. When Jack is at her front door step, she instantly dismisses him but he won’t have none of it. Whether she likes it or not, he’s her only hope. Amidst it all and trying to rescue the ranch, Tatum is slowly letting her guard down but trusting others is still very hard to do. Even though Jack has a secret of his own, their relationship starts to evolve into something more. But when their past collides, they’ll have more than the ranch to fight for. Will they succeed in it all in the end?… And will Tatum finally be able to let her walls down and in the process gain her confidence back?…
Then You Happened by K. Bromberg is the story of Tatum Knox and Jack Sutton.
Tatum as we learned in the Prologue choose to leave her family to get married when her family made her choose between them. But Tatum story goes into years later when we learn that her choice was not good. Tatum husband wasn’t a nice or good person who lied to her, pretty much kept her isolated and turn the town/people against her with lies. Now she is a widower trying to keep the ranch going after her husband squandered everything. Jack is a man with secrets who comes forward to help Tatum but she doesn’t trust anyone after her awful husband. But time starts to change them both and feelings that they didn’t want starts to grow.
Enjoyed their story.
I’ve been a big fan of K. Bromberg for awhile and have read quite a few of her books. Then You Happened is her latest story and it felt different than anything she’s ever written before. The prologue starts out and we immediately get introduced to Tate and her family. Then, it picks up years later, and we realize the fallout from the prologue. Tate is a ranch owner, who’s husband has recently passed. Unfortunately, he was lying to her for a long time about things, and so she’s angry and doesn’t trust people. I will say the first 30% of the book is heavily about Tate’s husband, and I thought there was just a little too much about this. Jack comes in as a potential ranch manager for her and they immediately butt heads. There was a lot of good banter and chemistry. However, he has secrets he’s hiding as well. The last half of the book picks up with you really seeing the relationship developing between Jack and Tate. This was a hard fought happily ever after, but the epilogue was everything you could possibly want from this story. I stayed up way too late reading this one, because I could not put it down, so I highly recommend this emotional contemporary romance.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love K Bromberg’s books. They give you all the feels. Then You Happened takes readers on a great journey. Jack and Tate have a love hate- or hate/hate relationship to start. There are so many emotions wrapped up in this book. Both Jack and Tate are angry and fighting the wrongs around them.
This book has twists and turns I did not expect, I loved how the story developed and loved the ending. It really is a story of how to forgive and love those in your life. How to not pass judgement on others and just love and be kind.
Another great K Bromberg book that makes you wanting more.
Tate was a girl that turned into a woman following her man. A man that had stars in his eyes with what he wanted to do with his life and was slick with his words. Real life wasn’t all that it cracked up to be though.
When Tate is left with a ranch, heartache, and more trouble than she knew what to do with. She needed help, someone that would turn the ranch around and put up with her attitude that she had to grow since she left home and lives where she does.
Jack comes in just the nick of time to help pull the ranch up by the boot straps and turn it around. Will she be able to work with him? Will she open herself up to another man who is a charmer? Jack is all that and a six pack too! He’s a sure thing *wink-wink*
Jack and Tate’s story is absolutely heartbreaking. Each with their own broken heart trying to piece it back together again. Making wrongs right and forgiveness are a huge part of this amazing read.
Jack made a promise he intends to keep. Tate is trying to pick up the broken pieces of her life and prove she can survive. Together they help each other find their way putting each other back together one piece at a time. I’m blown away by this emotional heartbreaking story of love lost and found while finding your inner strength to go on. The author really out did herself on this one. Loved it!

K. Bromberg story means the emotions will hit me hard and make my heart ache in best possible ways. Then You Happened was no exception. A riveting and heartbreaking tale of second chance, self discovery and true love set in small town, this story is an intense romance all the way.
Tatum Knox did not imagine her life will be a miserable one burdened with unlimited debts and hatred of whole Lone Star town in Texas when she left her rich parents for her love. Her now expired husband has wrecked her life in every way possible and she is picking pieces up. She is cagey, mistrustful, angry, tired and ruined. But she is not giving up on their horse ranch as that will mean she has lost everything. Including her pride. So when Jack Sutton strolls into her firm and extends helping hand, she has to accept it. Even when she feels this man can be end of her heart once again. Jack has his own demons to exorcise and his last promise to his father to fulfill. And not to mention the big secret that will destroy everything.
The story is set in Texas and the author managed to bring the quaintness, earthy feeling and quirks of a small town very well in the story. Tate was amazing. She is the epitome of a strong and resilient woman. She has so much buried inside and she is fighting a war she cannot win. I just admire her. And what can I say about Jack Sutton? Another addition to my K Bromberg book boyfriends! He is not only gorgeous and unbelievably sexy, he is a good man who are really hard to find. He is passionate, caring, over protective and fascinating with the edge of alpha arrogance. My heart melted by his way of protecting Tate. And his wounded soul with all the angst broke me so badly! Their chemistry is amazing. It stars cautiously and with almost enemy like feelings because Tate was afraid to let any one in. But slowly and surely the heat, passion and admiration buit up. And they healed each other’s wounds perfectly. The emotions were running high and strong throughout the book. It had some truly captivating, mesmerising and heart-wrenching feelings!
Then You Happened by K. Bromberg was another epic romance full of raw emotions and intense feelings. I could relate to the motivating and inspiring story instantly.
