From New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a standalone contemporary romance about trusting fate and finding yourself again.Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need. His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own. But he taught me things I’d forgotten. How to trust. How to … own.
But he taught me things I’d forgotten.
How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.
The problem?
I went and fell in love with him.

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.
Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.
She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.
I was only supposed to be there six months.
I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.
Instead I fell in love with her.

I LOVED Tate and Jack together. They bumped heads from the moment they met but they were perfect for each other. While we didn’t get the full picture right away I knew from the little hints we got that when the 6-month contract was over Tate was going to be crushed by Jacks’ secret. The devastation when Tate found out was on another level. I loved everything about this book and never wanted to put it down!
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
I really enjoyed this one. I’m liking that it’s different from her other books, too. All I can say is Jack, how you doin’ Mr. Cowboy?! He and Tate had some serious chemistry going on. I liked how Jack was truly trying to help Tate out because small town life has not been to kind to her. Poor girl is just out here trying her best to keep her head above water. Overall, I thought it was a great story and I read it in a couple of hours. I loved the epilogue. I had a big ole smile on my face when I finished it.
I love this emotional story about an incredibly strong & beautiful woman and a mysterious & sexy cowboy. It has all the elements you want in an enemies to lovers, second chance romance. I was absolutely completely invested from the Prologue. Tate is a widow trying to hang on to her horse ranch where she is left destitute by her husband’s lies. Not only is the ranch & house in trouble but all the people in town have turned against her. Then an unexpected cowboy shows up to help as her new ranch manager. Obviously Tate is reluctant, doesn’t trust Jack at all, but knows she needs the help. The problem, they have insane chemistry between them that they try to fight off which just adds to their frustration and fun banter. The slow burn heats up & ignites. Emotions soar in this book and secrets ultimately are revealed. Then when the dust all settles, K Bromberg gives us exactly what we need. Definitely your easiest next 1 click!!!
4.5 Stars!
Tatum Knox comes from a wealthy, family, and leads a privileged life including an Ivy League education, and a trust fund. Then she walks away from it all when she decides to chase her dreams. She feels suffocated, and wants to live her life, and make her own mistakes. This includes following a man to a new town, and starting a new life. Fast forward almost six years, and she’s alone in the small town of Lone Star, Texas. She’s never fit in there, and the town would love to run her off. She’s isolated and lonely trying to run a ranch, and is hanging on by a thread attempting to keep things afloat. She has nowhere else to go, and is determined to prove herself, and be successful.
Then she meets Jack Sutton, a man who might be just what she needs. The only problem is he’s an arrogant, cocky, know it all. She hates to admit she needs help, but she’s in over her head, and lately feels like the world is against her.
Jack Sutton applies for the job working for Tate. She’s beautiful, full of fire and grit, but also complicated and frustrating. He’s drawn to her from the start, and wants to help her turn her business around. He’s only supposed to be there for six months, and leave. Not get involved, and certainly not fall for her.
As Tate and Jack spend time together, their connection grows, and her walls start to crumble. He’s slowly winning her over, and helping her to trust again. She’d long ago given up everything that mattered most to her to make others happy, but lately is finding herself again. She’s rediscovering her passion and joy for life again with the help of Jack, but will secrets and lies threaten their happiness?
Then You Happened by K. Bromberg is a standalone contemporary, enemies to lovers, second chance romance about fate, chasing your dreams, and finding yourself. The story centers around Tate, a strong woman who learns the beauty in being vulnerable again, and sharing her heart when true love finds her. It’s a sexy, emotional, story that reminds me why I love K. Bromberg’s writing so much!
Then You Happened from K Bromberg is here! This is a standalone for fans of enemies-to-lovers and small town romance.
“They say it’s better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?”
Then You Happened centres on Tate and her life.
Its a rather sad story showing how her husband is and how her lifes struggles make her the woman she is.
It took me quite a few chapters to get into the story and even though I persevered reading on, I did get why Tate was the way she was. I admired the way Jack did his utmost to help with her ranch but I had this inkling that somewhere somehow the secret he was hiding would eventually come out!
This was an ok read for me. Im genuinely intrigued as to what the author will write next.
Jack & Tate. He’s a man on a mission although he’s not quite sure how it’s all going to pan out. She’s a woman determined to survive while trying to protect herself in the process. She needs him but doesn’t want him. He needs to help her but isn’t sure he can manage to do so. Then You Happened needed to happen. Thank you, Kristy, for another book with all the feels! It may not be your typical theme but you did it good. I think I enjoyed the back-and-forth with these two more than I should have… and while the twists were *right there* I still didn’t expect them. About to dive in for a reread so I can drool, I mean dream about smart mouth cowboy.
Then You Happened is K. Bromberg’s newest enemies to lovers romance. I’m a huge fan of Kristy’s and her books always give me all the feels. Tatum gave up her life and family for a boy. Six years later she’s a widow with a horse breeding farm, a bad reputation and no one to help her. Jack shows up on her doorstep for a job and all he does is make her made and make her skin tingle. Why does he want to help her? What does he really want? Tatum wants to fight him, but she needs his help. She’s supposed to work with him not fall in love with him. Jack didn’t expect Tatum. He’s there for a reason but he can’t help but want to do more. For Tatum. With her. Their angry words turn into sexy banter and I loved watching them fall for each other. Jack has a secret and he’s not sure they will survive. Will Tatum be able to forgive Jack? I loved this story! I’m a sucker for a sexy cowboy and Jack was pure sexiness! Tate is strong and sassy and has a lot to prove to herself, her family and this town. Overall, I laughed, got mad, cried and didn’t want to stop reading!
An emotional, enemies to lovers romance set on a ranch in Texas. Not your typical trope? Mine either, but somehow Bromberg makes it relative to all audiences. The narrative is full of love, loss, and betrayal told through passionately depicted and vivid characters. Bromberg’s writing flows effortlessly pulling the reader in from page one. Perfect weekend read.
Another great story from K. Bromberg!!
Then you Happened is a contemporary slow burn romance. Set in Texas it follows Tate who owns a horse ranch and Jack, her ranch manager.
Jack and Tatum did not lack chemistry! I loved that this story was multi-layered and packed so much emotion.
Tatum definitely has trust issues spurred by her past. When Jack shows up to interview as her ranch manager, emotions collide!
I loved the push and pull. The banter. The chemistry between these two.
As always, the writing was terrific and the story was interesting.
A definite must read!

Whoa. Tatum Knox and Jack Sutton. You think you know, but you have NO IDEA. I’m flabbergasted by this book. I was COMPLETELY consumed by this book and I didn’t want to leave their world. This story was beautifully written and compelling. I was lost in Kristy’s words! Tatum has had life kick her in the teeth. If it can go wrong, it seems to do so for her. She’s grabbing on to the edge by her fingertips and she’s not going to let anyone tell her what she can/can’t do. Jack Sutton is a stranger and she’s not exactly welcoming to such. Her guard is up and he has to learn how to show her she can trust him and let him help. He has his own past and demons he’s trying to overcome. I enjoyed the dance between them. They had to learn how to do what was needed while not spooking the other. Tatum was kind of like one of the horses. Jack had to step carefully, while also doing what he did best; manage a ranch. Their story was sweet, powerful and I couldn’t read it fast enough!
I think this is by far one of the best books Miss Bromberg has written, it was powerful, raw, heartbreaking, romantic and beautiful. She touched real life issues, but it was so well written, it will pull you in and won’t let you go until you finish this book, I can’t wait to see what comes next from this incredible author.
This was an amazing story written by Kristy. You will laugh cry and be happy all in one breath. Jack and Tate had amazing chemistry. As you read this beauty words can’t describe how the beginning to the end with twists and turns will leave you speechless but understanding. Until “next time”.

Title: Then You Happened
Author: K. Bromberg
Series: Stand-alone
This book was such an amazing surprise. There are a few words that come to mind after finishing reading-Emotional gripping and memorable characters. Then You Happened is full of Ms. Bromberg’s signature style, forgiveness, and second chances.
I loved both Tatum and Jack-Tatum was instant but Jack took some time. Tatum grew so much throughout the entire novel. She was so determined even after taking hit after hit-but continued to go forward. When she met Jack, she thought he was like everyone else in town. Little did she know that a few months would change everything…
Overall, Then You Happened was a fantastic story! Highly recommend reading this book!
K. Bromberg always blows me away with her writing and Then You Happened was everything that I love about this author’s work. She draws you into the story and it just comes alive with every page turned. Jack and Tate’s story is a sweet, sexy, and hot story with secrets, love, betrayal and redemption all in one. Their story kept me reading in search of the answers that I so desperately wanted. My thoughts were all over the place trying to figure out the hidden secrets. I loved every minute of their journey and it’s totally re-read worthy. I highly recommend this book along with anything else that K. Bromberg writes. She is such a talented writer.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Kristy has started off 2020 with a bang, Then You Happened is soothing so new from Kristy that seriously had me on the edge of my bed. I loved every single thing about this story, I was up until the AM crying my eyes out.
This story was about two people wanting to prove to someone how they could do it and how they could keep their promises. I will say that Tate stole the show for me, she was EVERYTHING. I loved how strong she was, she did not give up no matter how hard things go for her. I felt so bad for her and I just wanted to jump in the book and protect her. Jack, boy was he epic. I loved him so much too, he was someone who needed to see for himself how amazing he truly was. I loved how much he fought to prove to Tate that she was stronger than she thought. Jack fought for Tate and he fought to make her see that she wasn’t alone. The story, life lesson, chemistry…. everything was off the charts.
This story was so good, this is something refreshing and something so heart touching. This bo
This is a story of self discovery…learning to believe in yourself again, daring to dream, embracing your wild, and trusting your heart. Jack and Tate pulled at every heartstring and even broke a few!
After walking away from everything for love, Tatum finds herself alone, broke, beaten down, and with a failing horse ranch that’s more than she can handle. No matter how stubborn and strong she is, she realizes she needs help, so reluctantly hires Jack.
Jack has some preconceived ideas about who Tate is, only made worse by town gossip. When he shows up at the ranch, her frosty welcome does nothing to dispel what he’s heard. However, it doesn’t take him long to realize that none of what he thought is true and he decides to help her fight for what she wants, what she deserves. Tate needs to learn to live again, and Jack just might be the one to help her do that.
They may start out hating each other, but their intense attraction wins out and it’s sweet, steamy and everything in between! The lies and secrets they’re holding onto are just waiting to destroy them, so when truths were discovered, hearts were broken, and I couldn’t stop reading until their hearts were put back together!

WOW, oh Woooowww!!!! THEN YOU HAPPENED is now my all time favorite western Romance/ Enemies to lovers! Ms. Bromberg just wows me every single time and Jack and Tate’s romance is the very definition of EPIC LOVE STORY ! As always with the author’s gems, there’s this pure, raw intensity and passion that transfix and enthralls from the very first line and steals our heart with every single scene! Pure romance magic!!!!
Tate and Jack’s story begins with the second just arriving at the small town of Lone Star and immediately getting a earful about his new employer. Let’s just say that the town has it out for the widow, in a big way, and oh boy, that, gathered with what life has put her through, specially her late husband, Fletcher, to say she’s instantly on the the defensive is saying little.
She has all the reasons in the world never to trust anyone ever again, so when her new ranch manager shows up, and she knows he got a feel for the land before coming to her, plus his self confidence and cocky smirk just set her teeth on the edge while fighting the instant insane attraction and spark it can be felt in the air, Tate Knox was ready to shoot on sight, and I adored that!
Ahhhh, there is just something so incredibly satisfying about the dichotomy between sizzling and palpable chemistry, and the spark of animosity, the duo of insta-lust /insta-hate that makes for an incredible enemies to lovers, and here we had that in spades!
And the result, besides the most brilliant of the back and forths?! The most exquisite of banters! I just adored how both of them never backed down, never gave an inch, but still managed to remain focused and mature in their decisions, reaching a compromise when necessary! Of course that was also translated in the sexy times, because when it was impossible for them to ignore their scorching attraction, both were so amazingly mature and open about their feelings, I wanted to cheer and bow down to Ms. Bromberg. So refreshing and such an incredible turn on, when characters are open about what they want and how much they want it!
And want they did! That off the charts chemistry and banter transformed in the sexiest of intimate scenes, where passion, and growing love shone through in every touch, every thought, every caress! Jack and Tate were indeed EPIC kind of love, I’ll say it again!
Jack was such a perfect Alpha! We could feel just how smitten he was from that very first meeting, but our discovery of his true nature…. He was the most supportive male character I had the pleasure of reading, because not only did he help Tate heal – as did she to him – but he was perfect in doing it, at every step of the way. He knew just when to push, when to let her breathe, when to cheer for her, and specially when to show her just how strong she was on her own, it was AHHHMAZING!!!
Tate… WOW… Ms. Bromberg has given us some fantastic and strong female leads, but Tate, I don’t know why, but she touched me like no other so far, and that is saying a lot with how much I girl crush about her female MCs. She was just so on defensive, so justified, so broken, but still soooooo strong. I adored her! I loved even much witnessing Jack helping her heal, specially because of how he did it, so that she was like discovering herself again… It was BEAUTIFUL! And made me swoon – BIG TIME! – even more for this cowboy. *Deep and dreamy sigh*
Ms. Bromberg truly blew all my expectation of this small town/ western/ enemies to lovers romance out of the stratosphere! Such richness and complexity of the main characters – and yes, also the secondary ones like Will or Fiona, that I’m dying to know more about – ; perfectly crafted and detailed setting and premise; slow and oh so realistically blossoming of their relationship; organic, realistic and passionate transition from that sparking initial friction/animosity to ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of love, every single part of this tale was masterfully crafted in a way that is impossible not to fall in love with these two. Jack and Tate are now part of not only my all time favorite couples, but of my all time favorite HEA! This ending and that Epilogue made my romance loving heart SOAR!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Whether Kristy’s writing about baseball players, rockstars, indie car drivers or ranch managers, she can bring us a story that will touch our hearts and inevitably make us fall in love with the story and its characters.
THEN YOU HAPPENED will creep into your heart slowly, but once it’s there, it won’t leave. You will be left with a contented smile on your face after reading about their bumpy journey to each other. Both made mistakes, but both were working diligently toward amends and ultimately they found love in the mix of things.
I fell in love right along with Tate and Jack in this story. A story about learning to trust again. A story about learning to find yourself again. To embrace your wild. “Today is the day you own your wild.” A story about celebrating the big victories, as well as the SMALL victories. A story about finding your next time.
I can always trust Kristy to bring a story that has depth. That has a meaning. A story that has an undeniable love. A story with realistic struggles and pain. She did that with this book. While reading, I understood what Tate and Jack’s struggles were and I was hoping that they’d help each other through those, enough they ultimately did. I also loved the little mystery behind Jack’s motivation. I was curious to find out what his secret was the entire book! And when I did find out, I was quite surprised. I did have my suspicions but I did NOT guess the twist.
Whether you’re an existing fan or new comer to Kristy’s books, let’s just say that this book is a sure thing
4.5 stars
This is a wonderful small town romance that will thoroughly entertain you.
