From New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a standalone contemporary romance about trusting fate and finding yourself again.Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need. His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own. But he taught me things I’d forgotten. How to trust. How to … own.
But he taught me things I’d forgotten.
How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.
The problem?
I went and fell in love with him.

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.
Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.
She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.
I was only supposed to be there six months.
I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.
Instead I fell in love with her.

They say it’s better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?
(THEN YOU HAPPENED is a STANDALONE enemies to lovers, small town romance. Full-length at one hundred and seven thousand words)
more
Then You Happened is so much more than an enemies-to-lovers romance. It’s a story about two people who’ve been burned in the past and aren’t quite ready to re-open their hearts and minds to love again.
I loved the relationship between Tate and Jack. Their banter, their slow burn to trust, to love. How each wanted to hide things/protect each other from the ugly truth. Loved Jack’s alpha tendency to protect her—going after those who maligned Tate. Wait till you get to the feed store showdown—it was especially terrific!
And the epilogue? So sweet, so perfect. So them. And I hated to see their story end!

I am a huge fan of K. Bromberg, she is a must read author for me. This was an emotional story that pulled me in from page one. This book gave me all the feels and I loved it.
Tatum was easy to like, and I really felt for her. She was so use to living under her father’s thumb and doing everything he wanted. When she decided to leave and find out who she was a person her dad disowned her. She is living the small town life on a ranch she her and her late husband owned. Things are hard and the people of the town don’t like her. She needs help to save the ranch or she’ll lose it that is when Jack walks into the pictures.
Jack shows up at Tatum’s door ready to work for her and help turn things around. He can tell from the first meeting she is stubborn, but he wants to keep a promise he made. So he decides to stay and work for her no matter what the town thinks of her.
I really enjoyed this romance and the characters. This was the perfect one sitting read.
All of the feels! This was a sexy, emotional read with a twist I did not see coming! It is full of secrets, lies love, steam, betrayal, and redemption.
Jack Sutton is totally alpha but has a soft, protective side as well. I love how he doesn’t take any lip from Tate but he also pushes her out of her comfort zone. Tate is a fighter. She is smart, strong, independent, prideful, sassy, and hardworking. She has been through a lot of pain in her lifetime, but she refuses to allow it to keep her down. Jack and Tate had great chemistry and their back and forth banter was entertaining.
This was such a beautiful love story that will tug on your heartstrings! It wasn’t a smooth and easy love story though. It was intense, gritty, and raw. There were times when my heart broke for both of them. There are a few surprises thrown in that I didn’t see coming and they were holy cow moments! I loved every minute of this book and could not put it down! I highly recommend reading it!

When they say opposites attract they were talking about Jack and Tate. Then You Happened is a delicious story of a heroine that’s been hurt and doesn’t trust easy and a hero that loves nothing more than to argue with her and piss her off lol. Their banter is electric and will keep you turning the pages. This story is different from what Bromberg has written before, but no less fantastic storytelling on her part. I can always count on her for a great story.

Jack and Tate’s story is a roller coaster of emotions that captured me from the first page. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to punch some of the characters. LOL The longer you keep reading, the more you want to know what’s going to happen next. Then You Happened is another superb read from K. Bromberg and I recommend adding it to your must read list!
Kristy Bromberg does what she does best in this book just like all her other books. She makes you feel every emotion through her words and story. Tate and Jack are two amazing people trying to find their new place in life and when they meet the sparks fly. They are both stubborn and proud people who don’t want to depend on each other, but can’t help be drawn together. Their chemistry is explosive and sexy and makes you sweat all over. You think you know what will happen next, but when it happens, you are thrown off your feet in shock. The story is a roller coaster that will thrill you in every way.
In true K. Bromberg fashion, I fell head over heels in love with this story. This book broke my heart, it fixed my heart, and it wrecked me all over again. K. Bromberg writes such strong characters that at times I get so lost in the story and forget it’s a story. This book made me want to buy a ranch and find a cowboy. Not really, but out of everything this book could have brought home for me, it was the fact that you never know what someone is really going through.
Tate had a life where she could have had it all. But she decided to walk away for love. Sometimes love isn’t always enough. Tate and the love of her life were living very different lives. Tate thought things were one way when the reality was very, very different. I loved Tate’s strength. I love how she was just trying to find her way in the world, only it wasn’t easy for her. Her town had an opinion of her, so she just stayed away.
Jack was exactly what Tate needed when she needed someone most. These two had strong feelings right from the start. I loved watching these two grow not only with each other but as who they were on their own. Jack had secrets and with all secrets, they have a way of coming out. Jack’s secret could destroy everything for many people.
I loved getting lost in this book. I loved getting lost in these characters. I loved them as a couple and as individuals. I loved watching them move forward. I loved watching them grow. These characters were developed and complicated, but they were real. I loved everything about this story. I’m hoping we get some stories for a few background characters. I love K. and all her books. Then You Happened is no exception to that love!
4.5 Stars. Wow! Didn’t see that one coming. That twist made the story so good. Two broken people trying to heal, and they were the perfect fit for each another. Jack was going to fulfilled his promise to his father. Everything was going downhill for Tate. It was so hard for her to trust Jack, but he was with her all the way. Love that so much about him. Have to admit, I got so annoyed with Tate. She was over the top stubborn. Lol can’t give out to much or I’d be spoiling the story. The beginning of the story was slow for me. I wanted to stop reading it, but once the story picked up, it got really good. Well done to Kristy.u2063
I absolutely LOVED this book. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and often wanted to skip to the end as the suspense was killing me.
Tate grew up wealthy and her parents warned her: if she stepped out their door and left with Fletcher Knox, she will be cut off from her family. But Tate wanted more; to be able to make mistakes, to pursue dreams. So off she went with Fletcher.
We find her 5 years later, her husband passed the year before and she is up to her eyeballs in debt, that she has no clue about. She is looking for a ranch manager to help her run the place. She refuses to fail and prove everyone wring: her family, the town, her deceased husband.
Jack Sutton is applying for the job to make good on a promise to his deceased father. To help a failing ranch and Tate’s is just the one. He is contracted for 6 months before he has to return to his father’s company and run it. Not only is Jack determined to turn her luck around, he teaches her to hope and trust again. But Jack is holding a secret back.
Just as things start to turn around it seems to crumble apart. Definitely one-click this heartwarming, redemptive, second-chance love story. You won’t be disappointed.
Not my first read by author & I have read every single book she has put out. She is also on my top 5 favorite author’s as well as first reads many moons ago when I started reading romance. This book already started to kill me when the dedication was to: the broken ones!
Right off the bet you get ENEMY-TO, we have our heroine who is a woman that gave it all up to follow, and a hero who made a promise he intends to keep. These two meet by coincidence and soon learn that they may have a lot more in common then they thought. Their banter is straight on, there is a lot of anger from the heroine and a lot of heart and soul from the hero. Opposites clash in a story that will have you fighting along with them then it will hit you with a shock that you won’t ever see coming. And I mean it’s a TWIST of all twists. Aside from the beginning where it took me a little to warm up to the heroine (she a was little overly-arrogant and little prickly) The hero, ladies THE HERO hold on to your hearts because he will have it from page 1!! All in all, this story is a hard one, definitely for the lost as the dedication stated, and in the end I WAS IN LOVE with this!!
A MUST READ!!

So being a fan of Kristy I knew that I was going to go thru a range of emotions, and I was correct . We meet Tatum who chose a boy and unfortunately for her that was the wrong thing to do. She is now a widow and because her husband spread lies, lost all their money, she is all buy herself in a town where no one likes her. And then we get the hottie Jack and for some reason these two rub themselves wrong. I did find the book a little too long so many things were repeated that I would have enjoyed it more. All in all do I recommend yeas!!!

4.5 stars– THEN YOU HAPPENED by K. Bromberg is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, cowboy romance focusing on ranchers Jack Sutton, and Tatum Knox.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jack and Tatum) THEN YOU HAPPENED follows in the months after the death of Tatum’s husband Fletcher Knox, a man who gambled away, and destroyed everything Tatum held dear. Raised in privilege, Tatum fell in love with a boy from the wrong side of the tracks and in doing so was rejected by her mother and father. Fast forward to present day wherein Tatum, now widowed and the town pariah finds herself on the outside looking in as the bank threatens to foreclose due to her husbands debt and sins of the past. Enter Jack Sutton, a man who offers to manage the ranch, to bring it back to a thriving business. What ensues is the acrimonious but building relationship and romance between Jack and Tatum, and the potential fall-out as Jack’s true reasons for coming to town are revealed threatening Tatum’s hold on her hard fought sanity.
Jack Sutton is running from his responsibilities back home but a promise to his dying father meant Jack found himself working for Tatum Knox. Falling in love with Tatum was never on the agenda but the heart wants something it should not have. Tatum Knox is floundering under her late husband’s debt, a debt incurred through promises and gambling. With a price on her land, and a possible price on her head, Tatum is desperate for help but her stubborn pride refuses to accept that all is lost. The small town gossips and judgmental wannabes continue to fuel the hatred towards our story line heroine, a hatred that manifest towards her everyday life.
The relationship between Tatum and Jack begins acrimoniously as Tatum refuses to accept Jack Sutton at face value. Betrayed and destroyed by her late husbands lies, Tatum is barely able to survive as she is continuously the target of her husband’s former competition. Jack Sutton is anything if not persistent, and continues to push Tatum into hiring him for a six month contract, six months to turn the ranch around, in order to pay off the debts, and keep the wolves away from the door. Their attraction to one another is immediate but Tatum struggles in the face of what was, and what will never be. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text.
We are introduced to a lively group of characters including young ranch intern Will, hair stylist Fiona, and aging ranch hand Sylvester, Jack’s sister Lauren, as well as the requisite judgmental townies who see Tatum as nothing more than a stuck up snob.
THEN YOU HAPPENED is a story of secrets, lies, and betrayal; of family, friendships, romance and love. The premise is engaging, entertaining and endearing; the romance is captivating and seductive; the characters are colorful, energetic and charismatic. It took some time for me to accept the attitude of our story line heroine, a woman burned by the people she loved; a woman who is continually burned by her husband’s sins. Stubborn and proud, Tatum continues to struggle alone, knowing to ask for help, means sacrificing the independence she has longed for all of her life.
Then You Happened the latest offering from K. Bromberg is an emotional rollercoaster of a read with all the things we love in a good romance. We have Jack and Tatum both strong but vulnerable due to events that haunt them from the past. It has the slow burn we love……please please kiss her. It has the emotions and angst that we can’t do without. These two have great chemistry and when they get it on do they ever. It has a twist that will keep you guessing and you will not see coming. As always the side characters are entertaining and in particular Fiona, the feisty friend. It’s a small town enemies to lovers romance where we find Tatum struggling to run her ranch and Jack who is struggling to keep a promise he made to his dying father. They don’t want to need each other until they realise they do. Will the secrets they keep bring them together or pull them apart? I couldn’t possibly say 😉
Lately I’ve been gravitating towards slow burns and Then You Happened fell right into that category.
This book will leave you completely rubbing your heart at how much this gripping story will be ingrained in you.
A woman who went against her father’s wishes and ended up living a life that brought heartache and sorrow. She is now jaded and keeps mostly to herself.
Jack comes in to the picture and tries to help her turn her ranch around but she gives him such a hard time. Tatum is not going to fall for another man easily. After what she went through she is more careful in who she chooses. But sometimes you just can’t help who you fall in love with.
From the get-go I was rooting for both of them. For as much hurt that Tatum went through, who better than to ease themselves slowly into her heart!
K. Bromberg is such an amazing author, she can write just about anything and any trope and she always nails it!
Tate and Jack don’t want to be attracted to each other. That much is obvious from their very first meeting. But they are. Very much so. And I just knew they weren’t going to be able to resist for long. But what I didn’t know would come was the whole reason Jack was so mysterious. What his true intentions were. And neither did Tate.
On the surface, this is a couple who should not work in any way aside from physically. Their circumstances are less than ideal. She’s running a struggling (failing) ranch, and he’s come to take the position as ranch foreman. But he has an agenda not easily seen, not known at all by Tate. And then there’s the fact that anything they might start has an automatic expiration date, as he’s already said he’s not sticking around indefinitely. So how can they make it work?
I’ve read quite a few Bromberg stories, but I cannot say that any of them has quite surprised me like this one did. It’s almost painfully realistic in that this couple really, really is reluctant to get involved, are keeping secrets, and are anything but easy. But, it’s really an interesting, engaging story, if a tad hard to read at times because they were so reluctant. Still, I’m glad I read it because Tate and Jack end up making a great couple who have a really fascinating story.
So unexpectedly different than anything I’ve read by K. Bromberg before, this book is all about learning to love and trust again, holding on to a connection that comes at the wrong time, and overcoming obstacles. The writing is excellent and I loved the depth of emotion – it’s an angsty, heartbreaking, and kind of twisty read. The only thing I didn’t love, and the thing that keeps this otherwise outstanding book from getting a 5-star rating from me? The incredibly slow start, that felt unnecessarily long and drawn out. I didn’t connect with the characters or the story until about a third of the way in, but once I did I was all in with this.
The story follows Tate, a young widow whose husband deceived her and left her with a mountain of debt, a struggling ranch, a town that hates her, and a completely different perspective about the life she once had. When Jack answers her ad for a ranch hand, he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. A man with secrets of his own, Jack finds himself drawn to Tate despite knowing it’s a terrible idea. They slowly build up trust and love while working to save the ranch, but it’s a relationship that’s built on a foundation that was bound to crumble at some point.
I’m not sure why Bromberg chose to write the first 30% the way she did, so I’m choosing to ignore it and talk about all of the things I loved about the book – because there were plenty. The writing draws you in, and while we know that these two have obstacles in their path, it’s still impossible not to root for them. It’s a sexy, sensual book with scenes showcasing the intimacy between these two – that’s one of Bromberg’s greatest strengths in her writing. While I wish the beginning was shorter, I enjoyed this a whole lot once it found its footing. I’m definitely looking forward to whatever Bromberg writes next. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via Social Butterfly PR and am voluntarily leaving a review of this angsty, complex romance.
Gah I love a book that starts great and the orally captivates you ! This book did just that !
I became engrossed in the story and the small town feel this book had, from the daily gossip mill to the friendly faces and those that liked to twist things to their own advantage and of course the tale of Tatum and Jack.
From enemies to friends to lovers, this book had it all with pasts that came back to haunt and futures filled with lies and curiosities ! A book filled with emotion and huge learning curves for the characters involved.
I’m not saying anymore I don’t want to spoil it, just go on in and enjoy

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been one for a cowboy type of romance. i know nothing about horses. But if there is a book by K Bromberg, I’m going to read it. And OMG did I love this book! It was filled with so much heart and soul that it captivated me right away. Tatum and Jack were electric. Their hate love relationship had me totally obsessed. I love how fiery Tatum was. And I loved how Jack gave it right back to her. I felt for Tatum. The life she chose isn’t the life she got. The betrayal of her deceased husband cut deep. Not to mention the town she lived in full of terrible people. I wanted to tell them all off myself! Then in comes Jack to try and save the day, so we think. This story is full romance, drama, angst, betrayal, secrets, humor, forgiveness, and so many shocking moments. I couldn’t get enough of it. Another beautiful story to grip the heart from K Bromberg!
What a gut-twisting, heart-melting, soul-touching, picturesque, beautiful, and emotionally moving story.
It was typical Bromberg – full of heart, steamy hot, with colorful characters and a well-thought intrigue going throughout the whole book. Add to that a small, cozy town, noisy residents, unique sceneries and some horses, and you got yourself the full package. It’s Bromberg’s trademark mixture of sweet, emotional, sexy, intense and intriguing. And maybe a bit wild 😉
The banter was off the charts – fiery, passionate and witty. I loved this gradual build of sexual tension that was the preparation for the real explosion of feelings. And boy, the steam level was through the roof. This was one of my very favorite couples from Kristy. Strong, colorful, determined, a bit stubborn but written with so much depth, so many layers of history added to their story to spice everything up.
Loved this book and this breath-stoppingly beautiful world, and the whole setting, the slow-burning, sweet romance, and the multilayered plot with its strong, vibrant characters. The writing was exceptional and I could imagine everything in this story to the last detail as if I was there smelling the grass, hearing the horses, seeing the sunset. Taking the perfect shot.

They say it’s better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?
