From New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a standalone contemporary romance about trusting fate and finding yourself again.Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need. His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own. But he taught me things I’d forgotten. How to trust. How to … own.
But he taught me things I’d forgotten.
How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.
The problem?
I went and fell in love with him.

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.
Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.
She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.
I was only supposed to be there six months.
I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.
Instead I fell in love with her.

Than You Happened came at just the right time. An entertaining, clever, and romantic story of falling in love with someone…and yourself. A big ol
standalone that I couldn’t put down.
What a gripping, beautiful story of loss, heartbreak, hope and love. Jack and Tate’s story is one that is full of emotions and feels.
Tatum Knox is one hell of a fighter. She’s been dealt with some horrible cards in life but forages ahead. She’s determined and brave but lost herself. I shed a few tears for all she’s been through and all she continued to shoulder.
Jack Sutton was a cocky cowboy who got on my nerves in the beginning but quickly snuck up on me. There were so many moments that Jack had me swooning. He was just the man Tate needed in her life and proved to be a formidable ally.
These two had the sparks flying even when they were butting heads. Their relationship developed slowly and I loved that. Given Tate’s circumstances, trusting others and opening herself up was not an easy feat.
With a twist of event whereupon the secrets unfurled, I was surprised but quite happy with how everything was handled. This is a story about finding oneself again and falling in love even when one least expects it.

Bromberg delivers an emotional and passionate romance in Then You Happened with a small town, country feel. This was the kind of story that sucks you in from the first page, the kind of story you can’t stop yourself from reading—and get mad when you have to put it down. Bromberg did a fantastic job with the pacing of this story, building the emotion and laying the groundwork. While this wasn’t a suspenseful novel, there definitely was a bit of that quality to her storytelling here as I found myself on the edge of my seat and anxious a couple of times.
This story was intense in every sense of the word, and Bromberg sets that stage from the prologue with a heart-breaking scene that had me choked up and teary-eyed before I even got to the first chapter. Tatum Knox, the heroine, was a broken, angry, hostile woman—with good reason. It seems that nearly every person in her life has betrayed her in some way or at some point. She was guarded, she was permanently on the defensive, and she was distrustful to her marrow. And then onto her ranch saunters the sexy cowboy, Jack Sutton, full of secrets, swagger and salvation, with his wild promises about turning her operation around.
Then You Happened was full of heart, burning with heat and passion, and I simply couldn’t put it down. I felt all the feels and cried all the tears as I devoured it. I loved these characters, I loved their story, and Kristy blew me away with the depth of emotion she conveyed here. Five stars from me for Then You Happened by K. Bromberg!

In the prologue we see how Tatum left her family six years ago. Well – she didn’t really leave. Her dad told her to choose between her parents and her boyfriend. She chose the boy.
Six years later she’s a widow fighting to keep her horse breeding ranch alive. Which is so not easy because her husband lost all their money. Plus, he isolated her on that ranch and told lies – so that the people in town now hate her.
Enter Jack. He’s here for his own mysterious reasons – and he’s here to help. But Tatum and Jack do not get along from the first second they meet.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH TATUM & JACK?
WILL THERE FINALLY BE A HAPPY END?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT
Well, that was cute.
I was almost giving up on this book in chapter one. I loved the prologue, but then chapter one happened and I thought. What? Why is this going back and forth a billion times? Why are they fighting so much without knowing each other? What is happening? Why is this so weird. They fight and argue about the same nothings over and over again. I really almost stopped reading.
But I didn’t. And it got a bit better. The chapters were still too long after that and filled with too much writing and too much repeated nonsense somehow, but it definitely got better towards the middle.
The story was funny and heartbreaking and ranchy and horsey.
But an editor definitely should’ve gone over this and cut at least half of the book. It was just too much. Too much redundant stuff. Too much repeating the same arguments over and over again. And with no reason. They don’t even know each other. You could say it’s attraction and foreplay and whatnot – but it was just boring.
I really wanted to love the book. Jack seemed so full of sexy leading man potential, but it got lost in all that arguing. But I have to admit – he was quite funny here and there in his arguments.
But I expected so much more from this story.
Especially once I kinda liked it towards the end … and I wanted to keep reading to find out what the mystery was … and then Kristy goes and makes it so obvious and not surprising at all. The only surprising thing was how over-the-top crazy Tatum reacted to the ‘lie’. Why??? What’s so bad about all of that?? Jeez. She mega-overreacted in my opinion – and that made the whole book even worse. Fortunately all that happened at the very end – so she didn’t have too much time being mad before giving us our happy end – which she didn’t really give us. Jack had to do all the work. If he wouldn’t have fought for her – she would’ve what? Never called him?? Ever? Jeez. Idiot woman. :/
I’m sorry. This just wasn’t our day dear book.
I’m sure other readers won’t be as unimpressed as I was. I’m just weird with what I love and hate in my reading. It wasn’t all bad. I liked parts. I even had to cry a few little times. But I was just expecting too much. My bad.
But also – I think I might watch it – should it be on TV one day!
Tatum is a widow whose trying to hang on to her ranch. Jack is the man who can help her. When they meet, she decides she doesn’t need him and tells him to walk, but Jack has more than one reason for being at the ranch. He’s not only there to help Tatum save her ranch, he’s there to right the wrongs of his past. Jack digs in until Tatum agrees to hire him. She only knows what’s on his resume. She has no clue of his past, his connections, or who he really is.
The townspeople only know what Tatum’s husband has told them about her. The lies and deceptions she learns he spread about her, come to light after his death. She is alone and struggling until the day Jack comes to work for her.
Little by little, trust is earned between them and an attraction they both fight starts to form. After all the lies and deceptions that Tatum’s endured from her past, will she be able to forgive Jack when the truth comes to light?
I loved this story. The characters and their struggles, the angst, the romance, and coming full circle make this a great book.
Another 5 Star read in 2020… Boy my year is starting off with a bang of AMAZING reads and now I’m adding Then You Happened by K. Bromberg to my Amazing reads so far!!
“Why is it a bad thing to hire a man who might work you just as good in the sheets as he works on the ranch?”
Well that is just what Tate has to decide.. She has to decide if hiring a ranch manager is really what she needs. The town has already shunned her. She can’t keep anyone working on her ranch for long. Like every small town, rumors have spread like wild fire about her and her ranch. She needs someone to “Bring this place back to life.” and probably her heart as well!!!
Yess… Bromberg gave me goosebumps in this book toooo!! I am always amazed when reading a book, how an author can affect you like that! And y’all, Bromberg’s books always do that to me!! They give me ALL THE FEELS!! She always leaves me wanting more and I hate seeing the end of the book coming ever sooo fast…lol
I really wish I could give Then you Happened more than 5 Stars, it deserves sooo many more!!!
Sooo ladies..make this your next read on release day and get ready to swoon, as always, with Bromberg’s books!!
Then this book happened!
This book is a little different that the usual books by this author- I would know since I’ve read them all. The hero is a little less alpha- the heroine is a little more hardened. But the story definitely doesn’t suffer in the least from these changes.
I dare say I like Tatum a little more for all her hardness. For her need to protect herself in a place she doesn’t feel she fits. For her bristled talk and rough edges.
And I love Jack…so much. That’s all I can say about him. I love Jack. But it was easy to fall for him. As always I am left at the end of the book- sated by the story, yet sad it’s over. Counting down until I can read more by this author.
“In life, sometimes you have to do things you never thought you would to get by or to put one foot in front of the other until you can see straight again”
This book made me feel!
Then you Happened is a very lovely novel about two lost people who try to find faith in people, in themselves, as well as in love. It was my first book written by this author. So I was very excited about this one. I had some issues with this story but it wasn’t something major, just some description of the surrounding was missing and some details of the story were ignored. It didn’t bother me that much but it was something I noticed. Overall, I like this story and its heroes. It wasn’t the best read that I have read this year but I had a really good time reading it. Tate, our main heroine, in her pursuit for love and happiness had lost her family, dreams, and the part of herself that identifies her. She was left without a choice and at all costs, she tries to save what she was left with. She’s very stubborn and closed off and her behavior at the beginning was very confusing and irritating but she had her reason to be like that. Jack is exactly what she needs. Funny, handsome and with an experience that she needed. But he has his demons too. Faced with a tragedy, he makes a promise he fiercely tries to keep. At the same time hiding a secret that can change everything for both of them. I like their banter the most, it was very very amusing.
In Then You Happened, the author focused mainly on Tatum’s and Jack’s emotional journey. I do not know if this was the author’s intended action, but because of these deficiencies in detail, all my attention was directed to their feelings. So it was very emotional reading. However, its ending was very hurried and emotionally defective considering this whole story, this was something that bothered me. But in the epilogue, K.B. gave me what I wanted, big fat happy ending.
Tate and Jack were so frustrating and yet so perfect in their own way.
I loved the dynamic between the two of them and hated to see their story end, I wanted MORE!
Then You Happened by K. Bromberg
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
This heart and soul melting book has pretty much everything you can want in a cowboy romance. Tate is buried in debt that her late husband incurred unbeknownst to her, not that the busybody small town residents believe her though. They’ve judged her guilty by association, leaving her on her own to save the failing ranch that has eaten up all her savings and is her only hope for survival.
Jack enters the scene as a hired ranch manager…but he seems like more. As the story progresses you see exactly how much more he is.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and these characters. Tate…her strength and resolve and invincible spirit has made her hauntingly unforgettable.
This was my first K. Bromberg but it definitely won’t be my last!
“Then You Happened” is a enemies to lovers, small town romance, between Jack Sutton and Tatum Knox. Tatum is from a wealthy family but she had no choice but to leave all of that behind when she decided to follow the man she considered to be the man of her dreams. But dreams don’t always come true and Tatum finds herself alone and in a small town, where the people love to spread gossip and run their mouths. Jack is arrogant, cocky and honestly just trying to keep a promise he made.
Tatum has a very hard time trusting anybody but from the looks of Knox Ranch, she is going to have to trust someone, maybe she can start with Jack. Little does Tatum know that Jack doesn’t need the job he just applied for and she is in for some big surprises along the way.
Five “wild” stars for this one!!
Tate’s story begins as a naive girl who gives everything up for love. A few short years later she finds herself broke and alone in a town that wants her horse ranch to fail. Jack shows up with promises to help her turn things around.
Then You Happened is a story of love, deception, loss, self discovery, and strength. Another great read from K Bromberg!
