You met them in DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME. Now prepare to fall in love with THE YOUNGERS, a brand-new series from Iris Morland, full of sexy men, passionate women, and the love stories you can’t get enough of.
BOOK DESCRIPTION: After witnessing his parents’ doomed love affair, serial playboy Ash Younger decided long ago that love was not meant for him. With his charm and good looks, he’s never … good looks, he’s never lacked for beautiful women. He may push numbers as an accountant by day, but by night, he’s only interested in having a woman in his bed.
Yet the night he encounters a mysterious—and gorgeous—widow who doesn’t immediately fall under his seductive spell, Ash realizes he wants her more than he’s ever wanted another woman.
Following the loss of her husband two years ago, Violet Fielding wants to focus on two things: her jewelry business and beginning her life anew in the small town of Fair Haven, Washington. She doesn’t have time for men or romance, and she certainly doesn’t have time for a man who’s a well-known playboy and younger than her.
Violet already found the love of her life in her husband, and after his death, she knew she could never love anyone again.
But when Ash kisses her, all of her plans and promises are turned upside down. A passion stronger than either Ash or Violet could imagine envelops them both one night—and that night changes everything.
As old heartbreaks threaten to tear the couple apart, both must find the courage to see that, of all things, love is worth a second chance.

good read
Interesting characters made a believable book. It was a quick read.
The chemistry between the main characters are lovely and great. Liked the way the story has been taken up, a good feeling book with sweet romance.
Very strong characters, like the intensity of their personalities, but didn’t like the fact that it’s a continuing story, where I have to buy more books to read the whole thing. I should have read the info more carefully. Other than that, I’d have given it 5 stars.
Good book
Great
This story brings two different series into it. Violet moved in with her mother in law to help her. She is still close to her though her husband 2 years prior. Now she is trying to figure out what to do about her floundering jewelry business. Ash works as the CPA for his brothers business. They meet at the local pub but something intrigues him.
Violet and Ash are finding that in each other they have found the pieces they didn’t even know they were looking for. Violet has taken everyday of the last 2 years one day at a time. Losing the love of one’s life is world altering and she has been trying her hardest to live in the wake. But with a mountain of debt looming things are starting to crumble in on her. Everyone in her life is also encouraging her to try and spread her wings a little as well and that is just what leads her straight into Ash Youngers arms. Ash likes his carefree approach to woman. No expectations or plans – meaning no one should get hurt, just good old fashioned fun. He saw first hand as a kid the destructive power of love and marriage, so he is all set with that holy institution. When Violet blows his mind in every conceivable way with her brains and beauty, he is instantly hooked. For the first time, Ash Younger feels the need to chase after a woman – but Violet is not sure she wants to be caught!
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
I loved this book! A great start to what sounds like it will be another amazing series from this talented author. I’m already besotted with some of the characters and wish they were my best friends. Can not wait to read the next book, which I have no doubt will give me all the feels like this one did!
That first kiss….Hot and romantic.
Then came you is a hot and sweet romance with witty comedic lines to relieve the sexual tension between Violet and Ash. Iris Moreland is a new-to-me author, and I really enjoyed her book, especially the first kiss scene, *fans oneself.* Hell, it not only rocked Ash’s world, but mine as well!
Violet is a 33 year old Jewellery Designer with her own business, and she has recently moved town to be with her Martha, her mother-in-law, to help with Martha’s health. Since she lost the love of her life to a car accident two years ago, not only was she devastated, but it was William who had done her accounting. Since his death, they’ve gone rapidly out of control, and she is hugely in debt.
Strongly encouraged/signed up to attend a singles meet and greet at a local bar by her feisty mother-in-law, Violet sees a gorgeous man with striking berry coloured hair across the bar. He’s in a different group, celebrating the birthday of his young niece.
Rescuing Violet from a terminally dull man during the singles meet and greet, Ash Younger was struck by her beauty. Violet is certainly attracted to him on a level that shocks her, but he will also be the first man who has attracted her since she married William straight out of college, and she initially blows him off. Ash is not exactly the hit-it-and-quit-it type, but he certainly doesn’t like to hang around much after an evening with a woman. So, when Violet sets out to actively avoid him after their night together, he can’t believe that he’s more than a little put out! He also can’t believe is how hard he is working to see her, and ends up checking the accounts of her business when he overhears how bad they are. What he find out about William’s accounting, shocks and angers him.
The secondary characters round out the first book in this family series perfectly, and lead you nicely into what will be another standalone book on the next family member. Characters from a previous series feature, but even with this being the first book of Ms Moreland’s that I have read, it is a complete story in itself, and even though I want to check out her other books, I certainly was not left confused as to who they were.
Then Came You is a beautiful book about over coming loss, your childhood experiences, and the thing that defines my life as a mother to my children – realising that you are not your parents. Another key thing for me in this book is something my mother did say many times to me, “Don’t let anyone you love leave when you’re angry with them. You never know, it might be the last time you see them.” Highly recommended read. 4 Stars.
Life and love are hardly ever what we imagine they will be. When two lonely people meet they put one another on a path that will lead to love if they’re open to it. But if they’re not, they’ll be stuck forever in isolation without the freedom and peace that comes from truly fulfilling love. Both Ash and Violet will have to decide if their pride is more important than happiness and their hearts.
From the very start of the story I was drawn to Ash and his carefree cockiness that hid something sweet and vulnerable. I loved Violet’s sass and inner strength. Their first interaction was exciting, funny, and engaging. Once things heat up it’s clear that their passion was going to be intense and life-changing for them. Their personalities had the potential to be a great match for one another and I was looking forward to watching them grow closer and struggle to make their connection last.
And struggle they did. Unfortunately, I found the couple quite impulsive and reactionary. Each of these characters also spend a lot of time in their own heads which exacerbates their issues with one another. Despite the lives they’ve lived I found them both a bit immature. And while I can absolutely understand where each of them are coming from, I’m a bit more on Ash’s side of things. I value honesty so very highly that I was disappointed in Violet when she got so very upset for Ash showing her the truth of things.
Following on the heels of my disappointment in Violet came the disappointment in Ash for being so caustic toward Violet’s deceased husband. Seeing the financial discrepancies but not trying to dig deep enough or offer Violet support in finding where the money actually went was petty and I thought he was better than that. The way he was so negative about William was difficult to swallow. I had my own hard feelings for William when we hear how unsupportive he seemed regarding Violets’ business and her money management, but we’re only getting one side of things.
Well, one side and then a biased third person who’s trying to show he’s better than her dead husband instead of just doing his best to prove he’s the best for her here now and for her future. I would have felt a lot better about Ash if he hadn’t been so biased and intolerant toward William and then for him to throw it in Violet’s face was the epitome of uncool.
Violet seemed to enjoy guilt, blame, and being a martyr. I mean, it’s not like anyone will actually admit to liking those things, but I believe it’s what we keep close and choose to hold on to that shows what we enjoy above all others. In Violet’s case she seemed to want to take responsibility for the actions of other adults just because of her loneliness and guilt. She refused to see another side of things, refused to see that her mother-in-law chose to do what she did, that William reacted just as badly as she did. That attitude grew tiresome very, very quickly.
And even though all that ranting and criticism makes it seem like I viewed this story less-than favorably, I actually liked the story. There was an overwhelming sense of redemption, healing, and forgiveness throughout the entire story. We’re not all rational humans all the time and we all react badly when we’re hurt or backed into a corner. We take the emotional cues from those around us that are important to us. We often emulate those examples even when those role models are actually horrible warnings and sometimes it’s to our detriment.
Ash struggled watching his parents’ twisted version of love, he can’t seem to make what he sees in Trent’s relationship with Lizzie or her sibling’s romances comparable to something for himself. Even the errors of his own history don’t sink in until he’s faced with losing Violet. He gets a chance to make things right for them and fully embraces who and what he is and what he can be.
Violet suffers under an immense weight from grief. What she saw of her marriage was wonderful, soul-altering, a once-in-a-lifetime love. But when what she knew, what she felt, all comes to a crashing halt she’s unable to move on. Helping her mother-in-law gives her purpose but her ostrich impression isn’t doing anyone any good. It isn’t until a young, confident, incredibly sexy man sets his sights on her that she sees something more for her future. If she can’t shed her grief in favor of her future, if she can’t make her pride make peace with humility, then her only future is a stagnant, lonely, bankrupt one.
Together they had immense potential and fell short at times. Ultimately though, they were real people who struggled and weren’t perfect. They were the kind of people we can truly feel for because we can relate to their feelings and imperfections in a way that is unique in a romance novel. These two damaged, sad people had so much to offer one another and my frustrations weren’t strong enough to discount the fact that this book was moving, the writing was so effective that I was made to feel for and about the characters. I’m looking forward to more from The Youngers with Thea’s book, Taking a Chance on Love.
A well written but sad romance, this novel speaks of two wounded people who have the ability to bring healing to each other, provided they can climb over the stumbling blocks in their paths. Violet is still grieving her husband, but when secrets emerge she is devastated to realise that he wasn’t the man she thought he was. Ash on the other hand, saw his parent’s destructive marriage and has sworn off long term relationships on a permanent basis. That is, of course, until he meets up with Violet at his brother’s bar. The attraction is instant and despite their inner vows, they find themselves attracted to one another. Ash is a “fixer” and he has a history of broken relationships where his fixing has injured and insulted people. He hasn’t learned his lesson, and when he goes behind Violet’s back to fix her situation, he is shocked when she walks out on him. Both Ash and Violet have to take a new look at their relationship and decide whether there is something worth salvaging. I enjoyed all the characters in this book and despite Ash’s managing ways I thought him a delightful hero. Violet is a sweet heroine, and even though she has had to take some really hard knocks, remains a gentle and caring person. This book is part of a series, but is nevertheless a standalone with a cheerful ending. I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Then Came You, is a wonderful start to this new series, The Youngers. If you have read the awesome series, The Thorntons,

know each other, their connection is undeniable. But, is Violet ready to find love again. Or, is Ash willing to give love
