Mia DeAngelis knew it was time to make a change. Wanting to provide a better life for herself and her ten-year-old nephew, Ben, she took a chance and moved to the small town of Compass Cove. Now, the college librarian is adapting to a new job, a new town, and living with her feisty seventy-eight-year-old grandmother. Mia is determined to make it all work, hoping the coastal hamlet gives both her … her and Ben the sense of community, family and belonging they both want so much.
Adam Miller, a retired NFL quarterback, has come back to Compass Cove to start over after an injury puts an end to his high-octane life. Settling into the small town routine proves to be a challenge, but his job coaching at Jennings College gives him a sense of purpose, while keeping him connected to the game he loves.
There couldn’t be two people more different, yet the minute they meet, friends and family have no doubt they belong together. Now if Mia and Adam can only get out or their own way and embrace a little home town magic, they can find the happy ever after they both crave…
“A warm and lovely comfort read that will make you fall in love–not only with Mia and Adam, the endearing leads, but with the town of Comfort Cove!” — Virginia Kantra, New York Times Best Selling Author

Then Came You is book #1 in Jeannie Moon’s Compass Cove series. If you love your romance jam-packed with emotion, you must check out this book. I was genuinely verklempt during most of it and could not put it down. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Jeannie Moon is quickly become one of my favorite authors and her stories have made me fall in love with the North Shore of Long Island.
This is the first book I’ve read from Jeannie Moon. I really enjoyed the characters and the situations. Very interesting story.
Then Came You, by Jeannie Moon is book #1 in her Compass Cove series. Compass Cove is a sleepy coastal hamlet on the quiet portion of Long Island. It was settled in centuries past by strong and brave mariners, and their families. Many long-term families still live there. Many old legends still live there too. Among those is the legend of the old brass compass, that points lovers to their partners, their True North. Mia DeAngelis, and her ten-year-old nephew Ben, have moved “home” to live with Mia’s grandmother. Mia’s life hasn’t been her own for many years… since she became Ben’s guardian when her sister died. Her father’s untimely passing added more pressure. Mia’s mother doesn’t deserve that title. She’s a wretched, cruel woman, who only thinks about herself. Something had to change, so Mia accepted a job at Jennings College, and her and Ben move to a home that for her, has always been a sanctuary, Nana’s home.
Mia was raised in a world of museums, and recitals… refined culture. Ben is all boy. His interest is sports, and we’re not talking golf or tennis. Ben stumbles upon the Jennings College football facilities, and is befriended by head coach Adam Miller… ex-college and NFL superstar. Mia and Adam subsequently meet. Cupid is obviously watching because the clouds dissolve, the sun shines brighter, and doves begin cooing….Oh! and Mia and Adam are smitten! Adam is the male influence that Ben and Mia need, for completely different reasons. Storm clouds roll in when Mia’s mother arrives. They intensify when Adam’s college roommate and fellow player appears. There’s even a concern that Mia may lose Ben, but Mia finds strength with her Nana, and with Adam. Will Mia and Adam survive? Will Mia, Adam, and Ben become a family?
Whenever I begin a Jeannie Moon story, the day should be a national holiday… because there are so many things to celebrate! Everything about this story, this series, this setting, these characters, the dialogue is incredible. Beginning with the first word, this story will burrow deep into your heart. Then Came You is romance literature at its absolute best! Nana’s soundtrack is cool too!
This is an easy to read story about star crossed lovers. I enjoyed the character development. This book made me want to read more from this author and about this small town.
great book!
I loved it. I Needed an easy read for my treadmill . This held my attention and was easy to read at 3 MPH. Romantic .
Great story, could not put it down, this book was heartbreaking and yet true to life
Well written. I always appreciate a character the comes into their own against a over bearing person. Something we all need to learn to do.
A touching story with wonderful characters. I loved it!
Too much bad language. Not necessary for a good book.
Excellent romantic
Not my cup of tea because of the bad language and over use of sex. Skip a lot of it because of the sex.
Too predictable for my taste.
good book
Jeannie Moon was a new author for me, but this book was free so I decided to try her out.
Great introduction!
I loved the characters and ‘world’ and have already eyeballed the next books in the series. I’d read this again.
Loved it!
This book needs a thorough editing; the numerous grammatical errors are seriously distracting. Interestingly, reviewers have been making this point since 2017 on other sites like Amazon, but the author has apparently not seen the need to proofread. The story itself is the standard stuff of romance novels: 2 totally different people find each other. What kills this particular book is that the heroine cries almost constantly. Everything sets her off, and she is wiping away a tear or sniffing on every other page.
Loved the characters. Adam is the perfect book-boyfriend. A light, romantic read.
The story revolves around two good persons who are meant to be. I love the way they responded to the challenges that they faced in the book & how they’re always honest about their feelings for one another. It’s refreshing to read both point of views & to read of a man who listens to the females in his life who loves him. Thanks for sharing this book with readers like me.
