Since I live in Alaska a lot of times I will try a book just to see how Alaskan’s are portrayed. This book covers a very sensitive subject for some, which is mining in the Arctic. It has it’s pros and con’s, while there is money to be made when is the impact to nature and those that live off the land something to consider.
The beginning of the story took a while to establish and while it says that Martin and Luke are bit older than Lexie they sure act like teenage boys a lot of the time. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between these three at all. There were small fleeting glimpses of sexy flirting but nothing that would make me say yes these three are lighting the sheets on fire.
I liked Lexie’s drive and determination to save a part of her families legacy. You knew that Martin and Luke would not have the balls to tell her who they really were, which would then drive Lexie to do something drastic. For the most part the story was pretty predictable. What was nice was the scenery descriptions, Lexie’s grandmother and Lexie teaching the men how to fly fish other than that I didn’t feel any real connection with them which made the book a bit of a dull read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am voluntarily leaving this review because I received an ARC. This is the first book I’ve read by Dakota Davies and I really enjoyed it. Dakota Davies wrote such a beautiful story that within the first few chapters I wanted to hop on a plane and head to Alaska. The scenery was a character all on its own and Soren Creek sounded like the most beautiful place to spend time in nature. Luke & Martin think all they need to do is come visit Alaska to finalize their retirement plans, however it’s fate or maybe even Odessa who has other plans for these two. Lexie trusts no one especially outsiders and just wants to enjoy her beautiful life as a pastry chef and fish in her downtime. But the question is will love be enough to overcome broken trust and the past. This story has lots of good laughs, passion, heat, adventure and sadness to keep you hooked. I will definitely read this book over and over.
The Alaskan land, with its wild beauty, fierce animals and extreme weather became yet another character in a story about love, trust, family and the need to protect the land for the future. Lexie, Martin and Luke heat up the cool summer in Alaska with their explosive chemistry. Fun exploits with fishing, heating up a sauna and playing in the bedroom brought a lighthearted vibe to a story with a happily ever after.
Downloaded from BookSprout. I received this book free from the author for my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over-exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Luke and Martin embark on a vacation to relax and unwind while acquainting themselves with a large chunk of wilderness that they just bought. Unwinding for them involves a single night with a woman… to share. What they find, turns everything upside down. Lexie is feisty, challenging, and willing to do whatever it takes when fighting for something she believes in. The heat gets turned way up as they navigate through the chemistry and half truths told along the way. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of the latest book in this series.
Wild in the wilds of Alaska
Their Wild Coast Rebel (Wild Coast Book 4) by Dakota Davies is a well written reverse harem romance set in the wilds of Alaska. Lexie is the wilderness personified while Martin and Luke are business men more concerned with making deals seemingly regardless of the possible outcome. The undeniable pull Luke and Martin feel toward Lexie begins to reshape their priorities.
I really enjoyed the plot and setting of this book. The description of Lodge, rivers, valley, mountains and nature was beautiful to imagine and the plot fit so well. Lexie is truly passionate about the land her family settled, protecting it and keeping it in her family. Martin and Luke are at cross purposes to that and fail to realize how truly devastating their plans will be to Lexie until it’s possibly too late.
Overall, this reverse harem romance is a wonderful story with engaging and interesting characters that have magnetically steamy chemistry and real emotional connections. Best of all, Lexie, Martin Luke and Lexie’s family’s land all get a HEA.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
