Yay for trios! Burke and Cole are in for a rude awakening when they get an urgent message from their former lover, Jessa. It’s a steamy, suspenseful story that crosses paths with human traffickers, traitors, and long-time friends. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I really like that we got little updates here and there about Hannah and her men from Book 1. You do not need to read or listen to book 1 to keep up, if you felt it necessary to skip that one. I don’t know why you would skip any of them but I won’t judge.
I listened to the audiobook from my local library. While there were some editing issues (most notably at the end of several chapters), I enjoyed it. I hate that I can’t binge on the series because the same narrator, Serena Daniels, is used for several / all of the books and I like – really, it’s a need – to have a “palette cleanse” of sorts so that I don’t picture the characters from the prior book throughout. It gets really confusing when that happens. No worries. I will survive.
Story: 4 stars
Narration: 4 stars
So as the series progresses so do the stories get more hotter and steamer. This series is the first series that I have read about Menage couples and their love story. So far I have loved it and yes all the books are standalones in the series. I believe Shayla Black and Lexi Blake couldn’t have come up with better plot for a threesome like this one. Definitely worth reading and listening it.
Cole and Burke are twins who go undercover to find a friend’s cousin. They meet Jessa and spend a wild week with her. They had a PI follow her and give them reports. The reports said she had remarried, so they left her alone and they went back to rescuing kidnapped girls. A year later they get a message from her saying to come quick. They have loved her from the first but she can’t get over where they lied to her but when an old enemy comes after her she must put her life and heart in their capable hands.
Hot twins, betrayal, and really hot sex.
It just doesn’t get any better than a Shayla Black – Lexi Blake book. The mixture of angst, suspense, danger, drama and romance is perfect. The characters are riveting, well written, multilayered and oh so interesting. This time out, Cole and Burke Lennox find love when the least expect it but fate steps in and keeps them away for far too long. They”ve seemingly lost their woman, Jessa Wade, because they failed to keep a promise. Jessa has a secret and a grudge. Now her life is endangered and she must trust the two men who failed her, to save her.
