Rhynn and Rhom are strong, powerful Tharan warriors. The Tharan race are always born in identical twins who see, feel, and share everything, even a mate. Rhynn and Rhom were out hunting when Earther space pirates invaded there village, they killed women, children, and the old. They took others with them. The Earther space pirates beat, raped and murdered the mate, Zara, and because of the close bond share by the three, Rhynn and Rhom saw, felt, and heard everything Zara did. When the twins found an Earther female on their way home from burying their beloved Zara, they knew they had to make her talk, make her tell them where her friends took the ones kidnapped from their village.
Cass is the commander of the Luna where she has an all female crew. She should have listened to orders. How will she make these BIG aliens understand she is a victim too?
I liked this story. I like the realistic approach of the alien makes being to stubborn to listen and then to embarrassed to admit they may have been wrong. I really like that there was a female commander with an all female crew. It’s a good story with good characters. I’m interested to see if these characters carry on the the next book to help look for the ones still missing. This book tells how all Tharan makes are raised to look after or care for females, I hope the next book gives the characters a different personality, so many series seem to be basically the same story over and over. This is a good start to a new series! Onward!
Denial runs deep
Twin Tharan warriors Rhynn and Rhom are agonized and helpless to feel through their Bond their mate’s last thoughts and arrive too late to save her. Finding an Earther woman, they take her prisoner, except this was Commander Cassidy Randall of the Interstellar Federation, and she and her crew on the Luna were duped by the same Earther pirates responsible for the savagery and the brutal attack on their village. Keeping her captive to track the ruthless sky pirates across the universe, they experience the maddening development of being unable to physically resist her, still consumed by feelings of anger, guilt, grief, and now shame for the way they feel for this filthy Earther so soon after their mate was taken from them. They did not believe her account that her ship was attacked and Cass and her crew taken prisoner.
Though intoxicated by their punishments, Cass had to weather their nighttime trysts until she could rescue her crew from these pirates before they killed the members or sold them off as slaves, so getting them to believe her was the least of her worries, though she tried.
A hot sci-fi romance, with intense scenes derived from the emotional states of the grieving brothers, who finally realize their actions and consequences towards an innocent victim of violence.
