Cara Dee was my introduction to Daddy-boy kink, and Abel and Madigan remain one of my absolute favourite Daddy-boy couple of all times so when Their Boy was announced I was beside-myself excited. I think sometimes there is a danger in anticipating a book in that we build it up higher than it can be, but Cara Dee knocked any expectations I had out of the ballpark with Their Boy. Before continuing, I want to mention that before reading Their Boy, it is really important to read Top Priority. Their Boy follows 2 Daddydoms – Colt and Lucas – as they try to find their boy. Colt and Lucas have been together 8 years, having met and fallen in love in Top Priority – I really love and appreciate Cara Dee giving these two men their own love story, as it really made their personalities and desire for a 3rd way more understanding. While both Colt and Lucas are Daddies they have different desires – Colt is a sadist Daddy who loves to break his boy down, while Lucas is a softer Daddy who just wants to make everything better. The men find the perfect foil to their desires in Kit. Kit is sweet, shy, and scarred both physically and emotionally. He hides himself away, desperate for a daddy (or daddies) of his own. Colt and Lucas set their eyes on him, and go above and beyond in proving to their boy how much he deserves and how much they want to give it to him. Their Boy is filled with touching emotional scenes, and so much sexy kink you will be left breathless; I was completely unable to put this book down and was up all night as I literally could not stop reading. So often polyamorous books seem as if one character is tagging along to a previous relationship, but Their Boy shows a perfect example of how a relationship can grow and develop to best suit all involved. Their Boy has a perfect amount of Daddy-boy, kink, and emotion. I’m waiting very impatiently for the next book in the series!
A boy in pieces meets two Daddy Dom who always felt a piece of them was missing.
She’s done it again. Their boy, the stand-alone sequel to Top Priority is everything the title promises and more.
Kit is an absolute sweetheart, and Lucas and Colt are more than twice as seductive. I especially liked the little visit from our favorite DD/lb couple, Madigan and Able.
She doesn’t go easy on us in this book. One scene in particular was hard to get through, but I trusted she knew what she was doing, and I was right. So many scenes had me fanning myself and craving a cigarette for the first time in years.
It’s hot. It’s sad. It’s sweet. It’s incredible, and I can’t wait to read anything else she publishes in this series.

5 STARS
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of “Their Boy” in exchange of a honest review and what can I say, other than: Cara Dee did it again!
This book completely enraptured me from start to finish. The way the kink was explored while being in complete balance with the emotional build up, was amazing.
Kit stole my heart. He was the sweetest boy ever and I loved the way he flourished under the care of Colt and Lucas.
Those two were the perfect Daddy Doms. Colt a sadist and Lucas a caretaker. Both of them help Kit to come out of this golden cage, and to finally accept himself and embrace life at its fullest.
This is a book that truly showcase what really means to be a daddy(s) and a boy. It teaches us that there are others sides to kink; that is community, a safe haven full of acceptance and love.
I can’t wait for the rest of the stories (especially Shay’s
After reading Top Priority I couldn’t wait to see Daddy’s Colt and Lucas with their own boy. Kit definitely did not disappoint, he fit seamlessly in with the established couple. Great read hope there’s more to this storyline.
Lucas and Colt are my favorite couples I love the emotions that was written and expressed by Lucas Colt and their boy. 3 men who are trying to continue to connected and heal old wounds. I definitely enjoyed this book.
3.5 stars!!
I had been anxiously awaiting this book. The prequel-Top Priority-was awesome, and I could really feel the connection between the two MCs. I really recommend reading it before starting this book. It was sweet and sexy, and Cara really delivered a lot of feels for such a short story.
At the start of this book, Lucas and Colt have been together happily for 8 years without a boy to satisfy their needs of being a Daddy. They’ve put those needs on the back burner, and though the two are solid, Lucas knows that bringing in a third could only enhance their relationship. After a few failed attempts, Lucas believes he’s found a boy who fits their needs-one he has a good feeling about. While Colt doesn’t think they need anyone else, he’s willing to look into it for Lucas.
The boy, Kit, is just the sweetest person. Lonely and starved for affection, I just really wanted to hug and protect him. It’s no wonder Lucas and Colt were so enamored of him from the start. It was nice to see Kit’s insecurities slowly evolving, and I love how it wasnt an overnight fix. Even at the end of the book, I knew it was going to be a work in progress, which I really appreciated.
You could also really see the difference in Colt and Lucas’ personalities through Kit’s eyes. They both had qualities that Kit needed in order to blossom, and they both found in Kit the boy they’ve been waiting to spoil and care for. They all complimented each other really well.
I was just loving the first 3/4ths of the book! The flirting and Kit’s excitement with the new relationship left a big goofy smile on my face. Around the 80% mark though, something went down, and I didn’t know what to think. I’ve read books where anger is supposed cathartic and emotionally cleansing, but the way he got to that point left a bad taste in my mouth. It could have been handled much differently. I dont want to give anything else away, but it was enough for me to take away 1 star. I’m not one to be overly sensitive, but it was so different from their earlier interactions with Kit that it took me off guard.
I was also surprised that it wasn’t steamier. It’s not like I NEED sex scenes in my books, but Cara has always delivered in that department. Because of that, I EXPECTED it, and I was disappointed. I was excited to see what Cara would do with 3 hot men in a physical relationship, and though there were a few hot scenes (that ipad scene…whew!), there was a lot of fade to black. It just felt like a tease lol
(FYI-We get to visit with Abel and Madigan, and while we spend a lot of time with Abel, Madigan is often in the background. That saddened me a little bit. I wish we could have spent more time with them! I love those two so much!)
All in all, it was a great book. Some parts were fantastic. Kit broke my heart, and there were a lot of feels. I truly found their dynamic fascinating, but I expected so much more. It feels blasphemous to rate any Cara Dee book as less than 4 stars, since her books are usually 5 star reads for me, but the book fell a little short (that scene! It’s probably just me though). Still, I’d recommend the author’s books to anyone. Her books are always emotional, and she’s an amazing writer! I’m always going to read every book she ever publishes!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Their Boy. I absolutely LOVED Colt and Lucas in Top Priority and although I was hesitant to jump into the world of BDSM and Daddy Dom/Littles, I needed more of the couple. Let’s just say that for my first Daddy Dom experience, Cara Dee was (mostly) gentle.
The book is written completely in Kit’s POV. I would have liked to hear from Lucas and Colt, but I feel that we were still served a big helping of what Colt was feeling through Kit. Colt was… gah.. possessive and hot and demanding and everything you want in a book boyfriend. For me, Lucas almost seemed to slip into a supporting character’s role instead of being part of the relationship, but I think that was needed to help Kit overcome some of his past. Kit needed Colt’s firmness and blunt point of view to see a uncoddled perspective of life.
I’m not sure where the series goes from here, if it still follows our new trio or different characters altogether (I’m not going to lie… I’d like to see Vincent come into the community with his own dom), but I’m definitely hoping we get to see more of Colt, Lucas, and Kit up front and center. Cara Dee has a writing style that pulls you into her characters and makes them so real. She pushed the boundary of my comfort zone right along with Kit’s and I love her for it. I can’t wait to see where she takes me next!
This was a good story about a boy finding his daddies and what he needed to thrive. We met Colt and Lucas in Top Priority and novella about how they fell in love, but they were both dominant daddies looking for their boy to be complete. They found what they needed in Kit and Kit needed them big time. He was struggling with finding his independence and self worth and his daddies helped him thrive. It was fantastic seeing Abel and Madigan from Power Play again, oh how I love them! The book was sweet, sexy and had a little action to boot. Looking forward to more in this series!
