They killed the king. They pinned it on two men. They chose poorly.
There’s no ancient evil to defeat or orphan destined for greatness, just unlikely heroes and classic adventure. Royce Melborn, a skilled thief, and his mercenary partner, Hadrian Blackwater, are running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy that goes beyond the overthrow of a tiny … overthrow of a tiny kingdom, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery before it’s too late.
When author Michael J. Sullivan self-published the first books of his Riyria Revelations, they rapidly became ebook bestsellers. Now, Orbit is pleased to present the complete series for the first time in bookstores everywhere.

I read the preceding two books and this one is even better!
An awesome book with a whirlwind of activity and interweaving plots! I loved the characters, the non-stop action, and all the adventures the thieves get dragged into. There were only a few brief slow spots when there was a lengthy summary or description, but I usually read on night shift and they were so brief and far between, it’s not enough to …
This is just the first installment of Michael J Sullivan’s Riyria Revelations, and they are all just wonderful! I found them enhanced by listening to them on audiobook (plus they come in two parts this way rather than six) because the narrator, Tim Gerard Reynolds, makes the whole thing really come alive. I am now a big fan of the Riyria …
Sword and sorcery done right.
I started with this book and now I read everything this author writes. He was my first follow. That’s how much I live his books. ALL of them.
Devoured these books and recommend them to everyone. Well written, incredibly entertaining, and a perfect mix of action, adventure and just enough humor to keep you reading just one more chapter.
You can start his series in a few places, I read them according to the chronology of the story and LOVED them all.
Michael J. Sullivan hits all of the high points of fantasy–incredible world-building, magic, swords and horses–but what makes this series shine are the incredibly rich, complex, characters.
Although it breaks no new barriers, THEFT of SWORDS swept me away with a rollicking tale. I literally cheered at the end of the series.
Michael J. Sullivan is my new favorite author. I started with The Crown Conspiracy and was having some doubts if this fantasy would be right for me. The scene with the princess in the dungeon with the two main characters just did not set well with me. It was not believable to me. But further in to the story this scene is explained along with …
I would like to have this in paperback, is that possible
I love Michael Sullivan’s turn of phrase and world building. The Riyria with Haydrian and Royce teaming up make the stories magical.
favorite book series. Fantastic tingling ending!!!!!!
Great series with a dynamic cast – Hadrian and Royce make this story memorable, and they do a great job of wanting you to come back to find out more. The first book is definitely a little slow, but each one builds nicely on the last and leaves you with a satisfying and climatic resolution.
One of my favorite series to read!
