Detective Darek Blake thought the secrets of his past were long buried, but when a young girl is murdered in a familiar way, finding the killer will not only bring back memories he’s repressed, but give him a golden opportunity to impress the FBI. So, when his partner, Special Agent Lizzy McNamara digs up evidence that’s a little too close to home, he’s shaken to the core. The worst sin he’s ever … worst sin he’s ever committed bubbles up, threatening to destroy his future.
Are the Zodiac killings a coincidence or is someone toying with him, and if so… who?
Warning: This is the first book in a thirteen-book series. Every book has a cliffhanger of some sort as we’re telling the story of a serial killer. There is cursing, violent situations, a bit of gore and murder in almost every book. Enjoy!!

Lots of language, set up for series
Did not care for the language or overall theme. I quit reading after several chapters.
I really enjoyed this book, it held my interest all the way through. I just wish it carried through, and finished the story.
Made to be a sequel-ending was abrupt.
I enjoyed it but this is not a stand alone book, it is the lead book in a series.
Very factual and interesting
Excellent read!
This was unnecessarily long and drawn out. I did not really think it was very well written. I would not recommend it to anyone else.
I didn’t realize it would stop the story when it did and that it doesn’t divulge who did it or why. I don’t want to have to read 9 more books to find the answers
I really enjoyed reading this book. Too bad there are more of them to read but I have to buy them.
Excellent!
Murder brings back unpleasant memories for the detective in charge of the case. Joined by an agent of the FBI Detective Blake walks a thin line between investigating and covering for himself and a group of friends who share a long held secret. First of a series it ends too soon.
I really liked this book, but was disappointed that they left it right in the middle of a crime scene. You have to buy the next one to find out who done it.
I wish more of WL Knightley books were in the library overdrive e-books!!
I am waiting for the second in the series to appear, to find out how the twist and turns are dealt with and what further shows up against the detective and his search for a serial killer.
I thought the book was very good and definitely kept me awake. However to find out the author’s ending, I’m pretty sure you will be required to read the entire series.
One maybe two books spread out to twelve…. but I’m still anxiously waiting for the next …..
Easy to read, a good, tight story, with interesting interplay between characters.
If you don’t mind being left with no conclusions until you purchase the continuing installments of this series, you might enjoy this introduction of characters.
I did enjoy it ..as far as it went, but there was no end to the story. You are left in suspense having to wait to read the next book. Though I do enjoy reading books containing the same characters I prefer the storyline to finish with each book.
