The sport she loves is out of reach. The boy she loves has someone else. What now?
She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead.
Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his … another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league.
Also, he’s taken.
Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands.
They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.
But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won’t, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness — one which does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play, or the brown-eyed boy who’s afraid to love her back.

Always love a hockey-related book!
This book was so great! I loved how Hartley and Corey met, because of their “disability’s”, and how they helped each other maneuver and get through college together.
An accident put Corey Callahan into a wheelchair, and a fall put Adam Hartley into a leg cast. When they met in the accessible dorm rooms, there …
You’d think I was too old to appreciate a college oriented character book, but the wonderful story, amusing dialogue and warm, realistic issues had me glued. Loved it so much I’ve bought the whole series, and each one threads with the other, but an be read as a stand alone. Read it, you won’t be disappointed!
I really loved this story. The main characters were both funny and very well written.
superlove it!

Absolutely amazing and breathtaking read! This couple are both battling darkness and their demons. I loved the hints we got about ot from the hero’s point of view – it was interesting to try and put the pieces together. When it was finally and …
I thought this book would be a tearjerker. A story about a girl in a wheelchair sounds like it should be. But it was far from it. She was such a strong relatable character. And he was fun. It made for a fun read that I could put down.
Bursting with happy feelings from this book!
Corey Callahan is heading thousands of miles away from home to start her freshman year at Harkness University, but Corey isn’t your typical freshman. Eight months ago, she was in an accident that took away the use of her legs, putting her in a wheelchair. Corey won’t be in the typical freshman dorm, …
On a recommendation from a friend, I picked this book up. The Ivy Years has since become one of my all-time favorite series. A series I’ve read and reread about a hundred times, no lie.
4.5*
Ugh, how much do I love Hartley?!? Sooo much! Thank goodness he finally got all his shit shoveled! But even before then I still loved him.
This is such a great little book- wonderful characters and a not-so-typical college based storyline. It’s so touching and heartwarming. I just adored Callahan and Hartley. She’s strong and brave, and …
