Donny Lindstrom married Vickie Moore only months after meeting her. Now he knows what others were trying to warn him about: his wife was becoming harder to deal with than their young daughter. The only ones who truly realize how messed up his marriage has become are his in-laws: Tracy and Micah McKinley. Tracy considers her marriage a happy one for years, until the day her husband comes home and … and shatters everything she thought was true with his latest revelation. Suddenly, she can’t be married at all, and there is no one left for her to rely on except Donny.
Tracy and Donny are good friends, who share nieces, Saturday night barbecues, holidays, and kids’ sports games. They are not, and have never, considered each other anything more than amicable in-laws. Donny is the fill-in brother she usually calls if she needs help with something, and Tracy’s the nice aunt he relies on to babysit his young daughter.
Micah’s shocking betrayal soon leads him to beg Donny to watch out for his wife and kids after he leaves. Donny agrees, but doesn’t, not even for a second, think that request will turn his already tumultuous life upside-down. However, everything soon changes when Donny begins to see a different woman in Tracy than he’s ever known, and wonders if he is indeed married to not only the wrong woman, but also the wrong sister.

God, this author is an amazing wordsmith with her descriptive writing, emotional plotting and well-developed, three-dimensional characters. It has been amazing to read this series so far, and even when the material feels wholy unrealistic or truly bizarre, Leanne Davis always finds a way to bring you around to her way of thinking and the unlying issues that draw the characters together. She pulls no punches here, when Tracy, the straight, smart and sensible sister’s entire world is blown apart by her husband’s deception. Donny, the smart and sensible younger brother to Tony Lindstrom, finds that being married to the sexy, wild and uninhibited sister, Vicky, is not the joy he hoped his life would be, especially with a baby at home. Donny finds his world about to implode because of his wife’s addictions and actions, as well as being financially affected by Micah’s misdealings. Through pain, sorrow, betrayal, broken trust, and heartbreaking anger, somehow, Donny and Tracy become best friends, confidantes, and helpmates. Is there any wonder that more could be ahead for them if only it didn’t feel wrong, GROSS (according to her daughters), and yet right in so many ways? You have to read this book and let yourself be swept away!
hmmm i love Tracy so much after going thu so much she strong for her daughter i also love donny so much .. just like the other book f this series it amazing . i couldnt put it down . iht a must read ..hurry and get this book you wont regret
It’s very hard to write a review for this book without telling the whole story. But if you know this author’s work, you know it was well worth a read. It deals with some hard issues such as alcoholism, infidelity, family dynamics and drama. Tracy thought her and Micah had the perfect life. For 12 years they had led an idyllic life with two daughters. But then Micah drops a bomb on their lives by confessing to a horrible crime and instead of giving in to authorities he abandons his family to run from the law. Tracy is left to pick up the broken pieces of her and her daughters hearts and lives. Tracy arises from the ashes of her broken marriage into the arms of her brother-in-law Donny whose own marriage is complicated by his wife’s alcoholism, a wife who would rather drink herself to oblivion than deal with motherhood and her marriage. Both will have to decide if the forbidden realms of their relationship is worth the devastation it will cause in their family. After all Donnie is married to her little sister Vickie. I’m never disappointed in the end by any of Leanne Davis’s books. I’m always in awe of the depths of each story. Well written, well defined characters, intense story lines, and never afraid to bring difficult sometimes taboo subjects out of the closet.
This is one of those books you just want to not end! A page turner.
The Wrong Sister
By Leanne Davis
This is the fourth book in the Sister Series. I didn’t know that when I started reading this book. I am thinking that even though it is a series, they work as stand-alone books.
When we open this book we find Tracy finding out that her husband has been embezzling from some clients. He has lost everything that they had and Donny, his best friend, life savings. One of the bigger clients he stole from was his father and he found out. The father gave him a week to get things in order and pay him back, after that if he couldn’t then the police would be called. Tracy finds out that her husband had left. Instead of being arrested, he created a whole new identity and flew the coop.
Tracy has been helping Donny with his daughter. Her mother is Tracy’s sister. Tracy’s sister is an alcoholic and can not take care of her small child. They are both thrown into the worse things a family can go through. What will become of them?
I really liked this book and I am all set to read the next one in the series. I may have to read the ones before it. This was a different story then I have read in a while. The way she described the nuances of how all of this effect both of them. It is normally hard to figure out what is really going on but she makes it easy. I am excited to see what her next book will bring. I am thinking that you would love to read this one. If you are looking for a realistic, painful book that always has hope then you are in for a treat.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

This one had a lot of different emotions. Tracy went through all the stages of grief. Mad at a betrayal. Sad of the life that she knew was lost. Denial in that maybe she could reunite her family and be happy once again. She was used, abused and neglected. Donny was trying to hold everything together the best way he knew how, and I think he felt lonely. No one knew his stress and his secrets. They were able to lean on each other, family but mostly strangers, and it wasn’t always positive. I appreciated that Donny actually saw Tracy when others liked to toss her to the side and he made her feel important. Sometimes life is messy and not perfect. Sometimes it’s not as simple as black or white, or right of wrong. Sometimes you just need to find someone who will make you their person.
A very emotional book. Loved it, must read
I struggled a bit with the fact that he was married even though I knew the circumstances from the previous books. But to me that is the sign of a great author. One who makes you uncomfortable at times but still keeps your attention. Can’t wait to read more.
This book was amazing! The family dynamic kept me guessing through the book! I thought the characters were relatable and this situation could actually happen! Not disappointed at all! Highly recommend!
Loved this book so hard. It’s beautifully written as per Leanne Davis style. This book has a lot of drama, turmoil, and personal growth. Very good read!
Such a great book absolutely loved it
This author writes storylines based in truth. I felt compassion for the two protagonists, their lives riddled in angst, heartbreak, but determined to overcome, betrayal, trickery, intrigue, a wives battle with booze, a hubby coping with daughter and consequences of heat marriage, a friendship based on mutual admiration, developing into more. Recommended.
Tracy and Micah have it all a great family and life, till one day Micah tells her a whopper. Micah calls his best friend Donny and ask him to watch over his family. Donny is married to Tracys sister Vickie. Their marriage has been on the rocks. These two come together to help each other threw the pain and disappointment with their spouse’s. Love the Sister series. I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster the book take you on.
Everything that Leanne writes is just amazing! The Sister Series is so gripping and dramatic I couldn’t stop reading any of the books and this one was no exception!
An unlikely love match, two broken marriages, one woman and one man who can only depend on each other; what does that leave you with but a blossoming new love. Leanne Davis where have you been all of my life. Everything thing you write leaves me on an emotional roller coaster. I love this author because she never disappoints and always leaves you coming back again and again for more. Another amazing book and definitely recommended.
Donny Lindstrom married Vickie Moore only months after meeting her and being warned by her family that she was not the settling down type and because she was pregnant with their daughter, Julia. But now he understands the warnings and is struggling with Vickie’s drinking and spending their money and not taking care of Julia.
Tracy McKinley has been married to Micah for years and everyone believed they had the perfect marriage. Tracy was mom to Ally and Kylie and was happy until Micah drops news on her which changes everything in an instant. Now Tracy must pick up the pieces and try to go on for the sake of her daughters.
With the choices that Micah made both Donny and Tracy must come to terms with their lives and Donny forces Vickie to tell her family about her battles with alcohol. When Vickie heads to rehab will Tracy help Donny with Julia and can Donny in turn help Tracy?
With both Tracy and Donny in bad situations will Donny realize he married the wrong sister?
I enjoyed this book and knew right from the last one that there were going to be problems with Vickie and Donny.
Donny was taken advantage of a little by Vickie as she got pregnant so fast as she didn’t want to lose him and Donny had done so well for himself. But with what happened to Micah, Donny was left with nothing and had to begin again in a sense and really didn’t want handouts. But he couldn’t afford to send Vickie to rehab so he needed her families help. I was so mad that her parents were in such denial of what was wrong with her and how they were not really seeing what was happening with Julia either.
My heart just broke for Tracy and what Micah did to her but she was lucky that she wasn’t in as bad of shape as Donny due to what Micah paid off. I understood why her kids began to change and it just broke my heart at the damage that Micah did and how Tracy struggled to make everything “normal” again. It also made me frustrated that her parents weren’t really there for her either.
I wasn’t surprised at the gradual chemistry between Tracy and Donny as the two were both left picking up pieces. I knew it was going to end up creating a lot of family tension and drama and was just waiting for it. I was kind of disappointed that it appeared that Donny was cheating but I knew he felt like his marriage was long over.
I was really happy when Tracy was able to put herself first and go for what she wanted. She finally got the courage to go for what she wanted and deal with the consequences and I was so happy when her dad stood up for her!
I am curious to see if Vickie will get her own book and turn her own life around!
This book was was a wild roller coaster ride! We all knew Donnie was making a huge mistake marrying Vickie. Now we see just how big. Vickie’s sister has major problems too which effect Donnie. I ugly cried quite a few times reading this. I love this series!
This was a drama filled, twisted story. Poor Tracy and what she went through with losing her hubby by his choices . I sadly didn’t feel bad for Vickie. The story kept it interesting. Kind of wanted to see what would happen with her ex husband.
The Wrong Sister follows Tracy and Donny. Tracy has been happily married for over 10 years with 2 daughters until her husband steals money from his clients, embezzles and then sets up a new identity and leaves her. Donny, is married to Tracy’s sister, Vickie, who he discovers got pregnant to trap him into marriage, is an alcoholic and has spent all his money and racked up debts. When Donny sends Vickie off to rehab Tracy looks after his daughter and he helps her out with her kids. The 2 strike up a friendship which they both desperately need but their feelings, however much they try to deny them change. It’s an impossible situation for them both and wrong in everyone’s eyes, including their own. It took me a while to get into this book but then I really warmed to Donny and Tracy and really felt for their situation.
A bit of a twisted family relationship in this book, but once again author Leanne Davis delivers characters that feel believable and real as well as a story line that could be plausible. As usual Davis leaves the reader looking forward to the next book in the series.
