#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERNotable Book of 2016 –Washington PostDetective Harry Bosch must track down someone who may never have existed in the new thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly. Harry Bosch is California’s newest private investigator. He doesn’t advertise, he doesn’t have an office, and he’s picky about who he works for, but it doesn’t matter. His chops … works for, but it doesn’t matter. His chops from thirty years with the LAPD speak for themselves.

With such a vast fortune at stake, Harry realizes that his mission could be risky not only for himself but for the one he’s seeking. But as he begins to uncover the haunting story–and finds uncanny links to his own past–he knows he cannot rest until he finds the truth.
At the same time, unable to leave cop work behind completely, he volunteers as an investigator for a tiny cash-strapped police department and finds himself tracking a serial rapist who is one of the most baffling and dangerous foes he has ever faced.

You can’t go wrong with Michael Connelly. One of my go-to authors.
Michael Connelly is one of the best. You become absorbed in the story. I begin to be a fan of Bocsh. Not an easy character to always like.
Michael Connelly is the very best at the police procedural genre. He develops the characters, shows the shoe leather that goes into solving a crime, and makes it suspenseful and interesting. Mundane events like coming home to an empty house can make the hair on my arms stand up. Haven’t read one of his I didn’t like. Harry Bosch just keeps getting better and better.
I think this is one of the best books in the Harry Bosch series. Bosch has retired and puts his skills honed over the past 30 years as a detective to work as a private investigator. A wealthy man with a finite amount of time remaining hires Bosch to find a woman from long a ago relationship and possibly an heir. As Bosch works the case there are uncomfortable similarities to his own history. He also volunteers as an investigator for a small police department dealing with a serial rapist. Put the coffee on, you’ll be staying up late to finish this great read.
Michael Conolly has developed acop (Harry Bosh) who you can like and respect. His story lime is flawless in that it never leaves you wondering how that twist could have happened. This particular book was another “I cannot put it down until I am down”. Any fan of mystery books will love it as I do.
Love Michael Connelly . I especially like his Bosh series. Reminiscent of Raymond Chandler. I have never been disappointed in any of his books. Some I like better than others but all have the LA feel to them, all smokey bars and alto sax.
I was up till 2 am last night to see who done it.
I really enjoy the Harry Bosch series. The Wrong Side of Goodbye is one of the best. As usual Harry manages to get mixed up in a dangerous case. I like the fact that Harry’s half brother,Mickey Haller, ( the Lincoln Lawyer) plays a small role in the case. This is a great read!
Bosch is on the trail of a serial killer (as a volunteer cop) and the heir of a dying billionaire (as a private investigator). Two mysteries in one in the post LAPD world for Bosch. This is my 3rd Bosch mystery and I’ve enjoyed them all.
We love all Michael Connelly books, but this one was especially entertaining. One of Connelly’s recurring characters is Mickey Haller of the Lincoln Lawyer. Although this author is a serious writer, he also includes plenty of mirth and family connection.
Enjoyed The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connelly in audiobook. Another fine addition to the long-running Bosch series and read by the actor from theTV version, my husband and I both found this story particularly skillfully and deeply drawn, with an uplifting ending that left us glad to have spent those hours in Bosch’s world.
In “The Wrong Side of Goodbye,” part time detective Harry Bosch works a private case for multi millionaire Whitney Vance, alongside an unsolved serial rape case for San Fernando Police Department.
Will Harry find a possible heir for the aging Mr Vance? And can he uncover the identity of the “screen cutter” rapist before he strikes again?
Mickey Haller, Harry’s half brother also known as “The Lincoln Lawyer,” provides legal assistance.
However, Harry remains my all time favourite fictional detective.
Michael Connelly never disappoints.
Connelly’s newspaper background offers minute procedural detail you rarely get in a crime series. It’s not boring stuff, it feels real. The plots are thick and engaging. I’ve read most of the Bosch series, and, seen some of the Amazon episodes….It’s all good.
Good character development. Many unexpected surprise dilemmas.
Michael Connelly is one of the world’s best suspense writers. His characters are wonderful, as are his story lines. I’ve read every one of his novels and can’t wait for the next one to come out. Highly recommended.
Good author and good story (plot)
E cellent book, of course. It is a Michael Cconnelli book
I’ve read all of Michael Connelly’s books but Love Bosch series the best. Read in series order for best enjoyment.
Anything by Micheal Connelly keeps the reader’s attention. He is a good writer with a story that hold your attention.
