The Wrong/Right ManWaking up to a text asking why you stood up your blind date is not the best way to start the day, especially when the man in question is standing half dressed in her kitchen.Maybe Dakota Newton shouldn’t have assumed the gorgeous man with a devastating smile standing outside the coffee shop was her date. She probably— Okay, she definitely shouldn’t have slept with him, … shouldn’t have slept with him, regardless of how hot the chemistry between them was. But how could she know Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong?
Braxton Adams has been called a few things in his life, but a liar was never one of them. That all changes when he’s approached by a beautiful woman who thinks he’s there to meet her for a date.
As a businessman, Brax knows to trust his gut and never let an opportunity pass him by, so he pretends to be someone he’s not.
Maybe he shouldn’t have lied. Maybe he should have come clean. But in the end, it doesn’t matter, because now he has to prove he’s not the wrong man but the right one.
So what if he’s not the man she’s expecting? She’s the one he’s been waiting for.

The Wrong/Right Man by Aurora Rose Reynolds is Dakota and Braxton (Brax) Adam’s story.
OMG!! This is classic ARR for Brax is clearly the classic Alpha Male (swoon) . He is OTT protective and possessive but in the best way possible. How Dakota and he met was in a different way. Blind date slash wrong man/mistaken identity equals amazing story!! Dakota is a sweet woman who is coming off a bad breakup when she meets “Adam”. Theirs is a deliciously sweet love story that will captivate and entrance from the start. The secondary cast of characters are outstanding. Loved this new book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and look forward to more.
My Rating: 4.8 stars **********
I had to laugh at Dakota’s predicament: she met the perfect man, only to find he’s not the man she was supposed to meet. Of course, Braxton took advantage from jump and wasn’t about to let something so trivial as being the guy who stole a date stop him from being with Dakota. Even with all of Dakota’s attempts to run, Braxton is right there, waiting for her to listen to her heart. And when Dakota finally figures it all out, she’s already got the right man waiting to catch her as she falls.
3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. The Wrong/Right Man is Braxton and Dakota’s story. Dakota is getting over a breakup after catching her fiance cheating on her. She moves to a new city with a new job. She is also reluctant to try dating again and wants to spend time coming back into herself after her ex tried to change her to fit his political aspirations. But her friend tells her she knows the perfect guy for her, so Dakota agrees to a blind date with a guy named Adam. When she arrives at the coffee shop, she meets the most gorgeous guy and has an amazing connection. She asks him if he is Adam and he agrees. After an fabulous night together, Dakota awakens to many texts from her friend about why she stood up Adam. It turns out the “Adam” that she had a date with was Braxton Adams. He was smitten at first sight with Dakota and willing to do whatever it took for a date with her. After finding out that Braxton lied, it takes him a while to convince her to give him a chance to be together, and to complicate matters more, he is the owner of the company where her new job is. But she eventually acquiesces. They soon find that they are meant to be together and fall in love.
This book was a little different from other Reynolds’ books in that the couple doesn’t get together quickly and stay together. It takes nearly to the end for them to get together and exchange I love yous. Also, this was a bit of an angsty read with more fighting between the couple and push and pull. They have quite a bit to work out together between them. But I liked Braxton and Dakota. Braxton is a pretty typical alpha, overbearing at times, but Dakota pushed back on him a lot and made him work for her. I wondered how they told people at work about their relationship because much was made out of that as an obstacle. I also felt the end was a little rushed and I would have liked more happy times between the couple. But, overall, I thought the story was very cute and I liked the dash of suspense.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. There are some sweet, sexy, funny and fiesty moments. I enjoyed Braxton and Dakota’s journey to romance and I look forward to more from Ms. Reynolds in the future!
ARR never disappoints. I loved this book from the being to the end. Braxton and Dakota are perfection and I was so sad to see the book end. Grab a copy and Enjoy!!
This amazing and highly entertaining story had everything I’ve come to love about ARR’s books: a hot OTT possesive and protective Alpha, a super sweet and feisty heroine and sizzling hot insta-chemistry between the main characters that was absolutely palpable on every single page. Let me tell you that I was intrigued by the blurb from the first moment it has been revealed. I seriously couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story.
Imagine waking up next to a gorgeous guy you’ve spent an incredible night with but find out that he isn’t the guy you’ve been set up for a blind date. Talking about awkward and wanting to kick the guy for not telling the truth. But how was Dakota Newton supposed to know that her Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong? Braxton Adam is a wealthy and very succesful businessman who is used to getting what he wants. And the moment he saw beautiful Dakota he knew that he needed to have her. Even if it meant having to lie to her about his identity in order to spend a memorable date with her. He might not be the man she was expecting but she is the woman he has been waiting for.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the slow burn between Braxton and Dakota and their constant push and pull. Braxton was very overbearing and bossy at times which drove Dakota crazy. He had a control issue and some serious stalker tendencies. Brax is not the usual ARR romance hero – he is much more intense. His questionable antics will make you mad at times but also amuse you. You will understand him and his actions better when you get to know the reason behind it. I respected Dakota for standing her ground and not letting him dictate every aspect of her life. She had zero problems calling him out when he overstepped. Their sexual chemistry was the catalyst for their relationship but the more they got to know each other the more they realized that they’re perfect for each other. I absolutely adored the special bond between Dakota and her brother Jamie. They were thick as thieves and it made me happy how Braxton also welcomed him into his life.
The Wrong/Right Man is a light and low-angst read you can easily immerse yourself into with wonderful main and secondary characters who are going to steal your heart. If you’re a sucker for an uber Alpha hero you want to smack at times but also kiss senseless than this book is going to be right up your alley. Go and pick it up and let this fantastic author put you under her spell. I’m giving this steamy standalone 5 stars!
The right .. thing to do ? One click this baby If You haven’t yet! This book is absolutely amazing and I fall in love with another Mrs. Reynolds story. Her women and alphas always melting my heart, I will never ever have enough of them !
The Wrong/Right Man is no exception !!! I loved this story from the first lines !!! It was the best journey, in the finest Mrs. ARR way. This book captivated my heart and sucks me in immediately and compeletely.
The Wrong/Right Man is defintely this kind of story You can’t put down. It was sexy. It was sweet. It was funny… BUT this book gave me also ALL THE FEELS!!!! From one side it was typical story from this author, but from the other side it was soooo so much different. Braxton was more intense than the other ARR’s alphas, Dakota and her crazyness was the best rival EVER for him. I loved to watch how they interreact witch each other…. How they became EVERYTHING for eachother. How they stole my poor bookish heart!
Dear Readers… You need another DA BOOm from this author!!!
When Aurora Rose Reynolds announced that she’s bringing out a new book with the most over the top alpha guy she’s ever written, I knew I needed to get my hands on it asap. She’s without a doubt one of my most favorite authors ever! Nobody writes happily ever alpha romance better than her.
The plot of The Wrong/Right Man drew me in right from the start. I was amused how the hero Braxton pretended to be somebody else in order to go on a blind date with Dakota, the heroine. The moment he saw the beautiful brunette, he was obsessed and needed to have her no matter what. But lies never stay hidden for too long. When Dakota discovers the next morning, after they had sex, that she was on a date with a guy she actually thought was somebody else, she’s super furious and throws him out. But sexy, rich and super successful Brax isn’t ready to step back and let her go so easily. He will do everything it takes to make her give him another chance. Even using some dirty tricks and a little stalking. After all, all is fair in love and war, right?
I’m not joking when I tell you that you’re not ready for Braxton Adam. This man is truly the most intense hero Aurora has ever written! He’s a lot to handle and will sometimes drive you crazy. I really understood how he made Dakota feel overwhelmed in one moment, only to make her want to slap some sense into him in the next one. Though please don’t judge him too harsh for his over protective and possesive behavior. There’s more than one valid reason for it, trust me!
Dakota was a super sweet and good hearted heroine. I adored her! She gave Brax a run for his money and had no problems calling him out on his bs. She was a very independent woman who knew how to stand her ground. I loved their sexy, funny banter and sizzling chemistry!
I strongly recommend The Wrong/Right Man to all ARR fans! In case you’ve never read a book of hers before, then this is a good one to begin with. It’s a standalone and little different from her usual style but in a really good way. If slow burn romance with intriguing characters and the right amount of sweet and steamy is your thing, then this story is the right one for you! 5 stars
No one writes swoony alpha romances like Aurora Rose Reynolds!
The Wrong/Right Man is full of steam, laughter, and emotions. This story is very well written involving two headstrong characters that radiate explosive chemistry right from the start. Insta-attraction, sexual tension, and a mistaken blind date all propel this story into an instant page turner.
The author is known for her sexy, possessive alpha men, and Brax is no different. Charming, down to earth, and successful, any woman can’t resist falling head over heels for him. Me included. But personally, I truly loved Dakota’s character. After a tough break-up, my girl got back in the saddle and reluctantly agreed to a blind date. Atta girl! So, the last thing she expected to meet was Mr. Right…or in this case, suave and charismatic Mr. Wrong. Can you say awkward? But after the truth is revealed and faced with Brax’s protective and obsessive tendencies, Dakota held her own as the strong, confident woman she is. She knew when to pick her battles with Brax, but never let his controlling nature bulldoze her life. It’s clear as day that he wants her for himself and may be over the top at times, but I feel it fit their relationship and personalities wonderfully. Their dynamic together doesn’t lack passion, that’s for sure.
There isn’t a book by this author that I don’t love. Her writing is always outstanding, mixing sensuality, desire, and excitement with the perfect amount of humor and suspense. This love story is entertaining, swoony, and very much romantic in its own eccentric way. I’m really hoping this turns out to be part of a series though, as I’m dying to read more about Dakota’s brother, Jamie, as he definitely needs his own story! Want to know why?….just read this book to find out!
4.5 STARS
Every time I read an Aurora Rose Reynolds book, I remember why I love her so much. Her heroes are just MORE–more over the top; more jealous; more possessive; more obsessive. And her stories always have that BOOM! It’s insta-love at it’s finest. The Right/Wrong Man is no exception and I devoured this thing. Braxton Adams is the uber alpha male and some will probably think he’s a little out there. Well, he IS and that’s what I loved most. Braxton and Dakota meet through a case of mistaken identity (that Brax happily initiates) and from there, it is ON. Brax wants Dakota to be his and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. This was a quick, steamy read filled with all the ARR goodness that I love and was pretty darn close to perfection. My only issue was that the ending felt a little rushed to me–the mystery was wrapped up just a bit too easily for my liking, although that was really just a minor thing. Overall, I really adored this and I’m hoping we see more of these characters.
Well helllllllllloooooo Braxton Adams! The Wrong Right Man May contain Aurora Rose Reynolds most alpha hero yet! I’m talking instalove, over the top, sexy alpha goodness here people! This is not a drill! Braxton was SO alpha even I occasionally wanted to smack him upside the head but he also takes the award for the most in love with his woman ever. Don’t let that full on caveman approach fool you though, this man is also unendingly sweet.
I loved every last second of Braxton and Dakota’s story and devoured this unputdownable read in one sitting because I was so hooked on these two.
Dakota Newton might be the worst person to set up on a blind date ever. She totally didn’t have any idea what her date looked like. She had his first name and where to meet him. No cell phone number to contact him. All off that plus traffic, a near accident with her cab driver you just know something isn’t going to go right. I loved that Dakota was not overly experienced in the boy friend department. An ex finance was enough to give her some experience with out coming off as naive.
A misstep outside her blind date destination literally throws her in the arms of a stranger who has instant attraction to Dakota. But Dakota doesn’t even realize her misstep until she wakes up to a text the next morning asking why she ditched her blind date.
Holy Crap~ I need Braxton Adams in my life!! That man is totally intense and red-hot. He is absolutely the poster boy for over the top alpha males. This man is possibly the most delightful intense character that AAR has ever written. Once I started this book, I could not put it down. Who needs sleep when you have the uber sexy Braxton steaming up your pages?
I loved that back and forth pull between these two. I love that Dakota did everything she could to not make Braxton’s conquest of her easy. Braxton was a constant in his pursuing of Dakota. I liked that he did everything to work around her objections. The dynamic between these two is marvelous.
This story is one that will sit with me for awhile and I will easily read it over and over again. On an aside I really hope Jamie gets his own story, along with Samantha! ( Hint* Hint*) The supporting characters, and dynamics between everyone made for a brilliant read. I am already a huge AAR fan this just cemented it for me once again why she is one of the best and I keep coming back to her books.
Wow! It you’re looking for a sexy, over the top alpha male then look no further you have found him. The way these two meet was ironic & such a great meet cute for an ARR book. Braxton was seriously overprotective, but his charm will have you questioning yourself & falling in love with him throughout this story, just like Dakota. Dakota was such a breath of fresh air & her sassy attitude kept Braxton on his toes. The chemistry between these two was hot! This story pulled me in & had me completely engrossed until the end. I was not ready for it to end, but it really was the perfect length to tell this hea.
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. Let me just say I absolutely love this author. Sexy, steamy love stories with a twist. Aurora’s niche is adding a mystery to the book when readers least expect it. She nailed it with this book. The Wrong/Right Man is none other than Braxton. He knew he was the Right man for Dakota the moment he saw her now, he just has to convince her. The couple go on a day-long date that ends in bed. The next morning Dakota is hit with the realization that Braxton was in fact the Wrong man. Not her intended date at all. Only Aurora can create a story out of this scenario.
Don’t forget with all this alpha maleness and independent femaleness, there is a mystery. Usually the mystery is what bring characters together. This book is a welcomed change that readers didn’t even know they needed. Braxton is the kind of man that has never had to take no for an answer and Dakota doles out NOs like a pro. There is something about this man that makes her want to give him a chance despite his protective instincts directed solely on her.
Don’t miss this book. It is one you will definitely enjoy. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
This is the over the top, possessive alpha I have been looking for for the last few weeks. I have had such a craving for a hero like Braxton that the whole time I was reading this I did it with a weird sappy smile on my face. I knew Aurora has the ability to write those heroes and I even redownloaded Until November to reread when I couldn’t find anything that lived up to what I was craving when this one landed on my kindle. And honestly regardless of if he was a crazy OTT alphahole or not I would still be just as happy to receive this since it’s Aurora Rose Reynolds and her writing is perfection.
But it doesn’t matter because Braxton is everything crazy, insane, controlling, possessive, protective, crazy alpha I wanted and more. Honestly if I met him in person I would kick him in the boys and move house but in a book it just works for me. He was so completely all in from the first time he laid eyes on Dakota it was awesome.
Dakota was a great leading lady too. She absolutely thought he was nuts and she didn’t allow his crazy to just steamroll her life. She stood up for herself and she questioned and argued every time his brand of crazy came out to play. I really liked her. She was her own person and she knew what she wanted and she worked to get it. And even when Braxton was acting crazy and she understood the why’s she still stood up for herself and went ahead with what she wanted.
The drama in the story didn’t come from where I expected and I kind of got caught out trying to figure when the bus took that turn but I was still more than happy to continue on with the ride. Personally it felt like it came out of nowhere and was resolved way too quickly but that said I also am really happy that it wasn’t super drawn out and ridiculous. I was surprised there wasn’t more of a resolution with Dakota’s boss and her niece because that felt a little up in the air but I think that’s only because I was expecting it to be more of the story, not that it was actually unresolved. And honestly the whole book felt like it wrapped up way too quickly but again that’s probably because I was hoping for a million more pages and can never get enough.
Wow that sounded like a lot of negatives but I really loved the book. I loved the characters, the plot twist and the sweet as sugar epilogue. I just always want more words from Aurora. And even if I got them I would probably still ask when I’m getting more so meh.
I really love this book and I loved the way h meet H it was so cute and I really loved how the H took care of the h when she had a stalker but didn’t tell her I really enjoyed this book I really hope you make another one just like this
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This was an awesome story between two people who fall pretty fast for each other. They meet on a blind date and discover that they have ALOT in common but Dakota has ended a long term relationship and she is concerned about jumping into a new relationship so fast but Brax sees how great she is and is not letting her go.
This has a bit of intrigue as D has a stalker and Brax wants to protect her even if it means it bothers her. He is 100% there for her no matter what and I loved that about him. I also loved her brother Jaimie and hope the author writes about her brother finding love too.
if you love alpha guys and over the top heroes and instalove you will adore this story. I loved it from beginning to ending, and its one I will re-read again.
Forget the boom this was a nuclear explosion of chemistry, passion and intensity. A story of mistaken identity and instant attraction. Braxton and Dakota’s story is one of obsession, safety and a forever kind of love that you just can’t walk away from. Their story will steal your heart, make you smile and will have you on the edge of your seat as these two fight against and for each other. Sometimes you get lost in the characters, their story and the words that make up their world and the only disappointing part of it all is when it finally must end. Braxton might have been Mr Wrong but I think you will agree he couldn’t have been anything less than Mr Right.
This book takes you by storm from the first few pages. Dakota is starting her story over with the help of her big brother and trying to find her place again. She meets our lovely hero in the most unorthodox of ways which by fair is my favorite part of this whole book. Their love story is a whirlwind from their initial encounter. Things felt a little rushed in the beginning, but later on it’s justified and can be appreciated, just wait on it.
Deception, lust and a smidge of overbearing are the bones of their relationship, which ultimately makes for a pretty entertaining interaction between the two. They fight hard and love each other even harder.
The “passion” between them was good and just on the cusp of great. I just wish it were a little more detailed. Again, a new author to me, so I’m unfamiliar with if this is par for the course.
Overall a good story featuring a pushy hero and a take no bs heroine. So if CEO’s with a slight hero complex are your thing, this story will be your fix.
I enjoyed this so much I couldn’t stop reading. It’s funny and unexpected and just what I needed. As crazy as Braxton was, it was sweet that he didn’t allow Dakota too much time to think. He’s in your face with his protectiveness and need to take care of her. Their meeting was unconventional but it worked for them. There is some suspense in there that gets resolved pretty quickly. Overall, I couldn’t stop reading and it’s the perfect feel-good book with little drama and lots of passion and happiness.
*4,5 stars*
I really enjoyed this book and especially the chemistry between Dakota and Braxton. Sometimes Brax was a bit too much to handle as an alpha male lead character but a perfect fit for Dakota 🙂 The story was well written and had a high level of entertainment but also pulled on your heartstrings. A definite must read for me!
Dakota has been set up to a blind date and when she meets Braxton, they hit it off immediately but when it turns out that he was not the man she was supposed to meet, everything seems to spiral out of control but there seems to be a strong connection between them that maybe is worth exploring. Even though her past has burnt her and doesn’t get her to trust easily anymore, there’s just something about him that she can’t resist. But with Brax not seeming to take no for an answer and is going all alpha on her, she’s not really sure that their relationship is going anywhere but slowly her walls are coming down and Brax will do whatever it takes to make her see that they belong together…
