Every little girl dreams of being swept off her feet by a charming Prince. But my life was no fairy tale. And in this kingdom called college, the rules went out the window. I’d known golden boy, Theo Hunt, was the one for me since we were kids. My heart was his for the taking, but I had become nothing more than the MVP of the campus king’s friend-zone. Easton Cole was a storm I couldn’t have … Cole was a storm I couldn’t have predicted. He knocked me off my feet and stole my heart. But he was off limits. Not only was he was Theo’s frat brother, but he was the teacher’s assistant in English 101 and I was acing every test.
My heart was torn, my feelings tangled.
Because as soon as I noticed Easton, Theo finally noticed me.
I was in love with two guys, as different as night and day, but I could only have one.
I only hoped I didn’t choose The Wrong Prince Charming.

This was a fun and sexy story. Going back to those college years are always fun, but this story had depth also.
Maddy and Theo are best friends, but Maddy is hoping for more, until she meets Easton, then things aren’t what she thought. This story is angst filled and full of fun times. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and also the struggle Maddy went through with Theo and Easton. Whether she would chose one of them and a different life than everybody expected.
This a a very hot, fun filled read about a girl trying to chose her path in life and stop doing what everyone else expected.
This story had me hooked from just the blurb and in no way did it disappoint at all! It was just everything to me. Absolutely adored Maddy. She followed her best friend Theo to college hoping they could finally be more than that when she runs into Easton. I seriously enjoyed this story so dang much and could not get enough of them.
I found Holly on Amazon after searching for something new to read. I loved her Good Girls series, I binged on all of them in a couple days.
I think this one sounded great, had a good set up, but some of the delivery was off. The love triangle aspect didn’t bother me at all. I think there was a few aspects that were missed that could have been really good. I also wish the book had been longer to flesh out some more details, and to add in the missed opportunities.
Easton was great, I loved him. Theo, well we never got to see as much as I wanted from. Maddison was ok but I felt she needed a stronger presence.
I think this ends up on the “It’s me not you” list. I know people will enjoy this one but I just needed more.
Maddison, a college freshman and her best friend, Theo, has a plan: go to college, together. Now Maddison is following up on her end of the plan, but she’s not sure what she wants. What does she want? Enter Easton: Theo’s frat brother and Maddison’s TA. Today off limits, but totally irresistible. As Easton and Maddison become closer, and Theo admits that he has feelings for Maddison, Maddison realizes that she needs to do what she wants and not what everyone wants her to do.
This book sucked me in immediately with a good story and tons of chemistry and sizzle. I couldn’t put it down. This was the first Holly Renee Book I read, but I’ve already added more to my library.
Romance with a twist and more addicting than chocolate. I loved everything about this book. The characters have a real life vibe and you can relate to them on so many levels. Love can sometimes be confused with lust and I feel like your first crush is never really the one you end up with. That being said you can’t control who you fall in love with and sometimes that can be the wrong prince charming. From start to finish I was hooked and couldn’t put this book down. I suggest anyone with a love of romance to pickup a copy ASAP.
This book was amazing! I love how Holly gets you into the story with these amazing characters. Maddison, Theo & Easton were so wonderfully written. I loved their story an didn’t want it to end!
I enjoyed how this book started. We see Maddison and her good friend, Theo, reconnecting because she has started attending the same college where he is. I liked their friendship and I felt her wanting him. Holly Renee did a great job drawing the reader in and let them FEEL what Maddison felt. She was mostly happy to be where Theo was. Now, Maddison and Easton had INSTANT chemistry. You could feel their pull through the pages. They had both noticed each other, but it wasn’t until they were paired up that started their interactions. But he was the wrong boy for her, right!? I enjoyed their relationship, their getting to know each other period and watching things evolve. I was completely lost in this story and found myself not wanting to put this book down. If you want a book that brings all the feels and completely consumes you, then be sure not to let this book pass you by!
Rate: 4 / 5 stars
For some reason, I didn’t remember this was a college romance so I was pleasantly surprised when I started and I realised it was one. Maddison just arrived in college and you see her reunite with her life long best friend Theo. These two have a super close friendship and you can see from both their actions and Maddison’s thoughts that they both have feelings for each other but don’t want to go there and be in danger of losing each other’s friendship. You also understand from very early on that they both have crappy families and that they are each other’s support system. Theo’s father isn’t a great one and Maddison’s parents sort of seem him as their son and are better supporters of his than their own daughter. Maddison is living a life her parents imposed on her. No one understands her passion for photo journalism, not until Easton comes along.
Theo seems like a great guy from the start but you can see that although he is a great friend and his relationship with Maddison is adorable, he doesn’t know her fully and he rather side with her parents than his best friend. And that didn’t sit well with me right from the start. He starts changing his tune once Easton comes into the picture.
Now, Easton I honestly loved him from the second Maddison crashed into him. They just clicked and I enjoyed their banter so much. And slowly he reveals just how amazing he is. At first he’s hesitant because he is her TA but when life forces them together again and again, it’s impossible to resist her, specially while getting to know the girl beyond the beautiful face and smokin’ body. Easton is just so sexy, fun, adventurous and he’s there for her no matter what. He makes her dreams come true and helps her get the resolve to do what’s right for her. I honestly think he was amazing beyond belief.
Some will say this is a love triangle and the idea is there but it’s not fully one. Yes, Maddison is in love with two great guys at the same time but I don’t think there ever really was a doubt to who she ends up with when you start seeing everyone’s true colors. At least for me. But it’s a fact that The Wrong Prince Charming has all the drama of a story where two guys are after the same girl and said girl is in love with both of them. It’s sweet, it’s conflicting and it’s angsty and you’ll love the ride.
However, there are points in the story that could have been better. Close to the end, everything happens so goddarn fast. It should have been a slower process, things should have been better explained, it kind of felt like somethings were jumped over. Maddison forgave too soon and with no real explanation or apology, she deserved more than what she got. And when she finally put her balls to use and took reins over her life, I would have liked to see the conversation with her parents and gotten more details over her decision and thought process. And Easton too, how he learned what she was doing and how he went from being hurt and angry to forgiving her. I think these were major moments in the story and what it had been building up to that just didn’t get their monumental justice. I felt it was definitely lacking in all these points and that’s why I’m rating this a 4 and not a 5. In my opinion Easton deserved all the stars on his own 😉
Oh holy hell!! The Wrong Prince Charming is absolutely the perfect example of why I love Holly Renee! I could not stop reading!
I read this book when I had just found out some horrible stuff and I had tried to read a few books and just couldn’t focus on anything except what I had going on, then TWPC dropped in my kindle and I couldn’t think of anything but it.
Easton Cole is drop dead sexy, and has the charm to match. it’s not surprise Mandy couldn’t resist him.
“How will we tell our children..” when Easton drops this line I melt every time.
Mandy, sweet Maddy. I love the development that she made during this book. She starts on a course set up for her without any day from her. When she meets Easton she starts to look at things from a different view.
I love how good Easton is for Maddy but also Maddy is for him. Maybe it’s not in the same way but the changes made by both of them are noticeable.
And can we talk about that party scene?? OMFG! I did not see that coming. Holly has never written a scene like it before but man did she nail it and it is absolutely hot AF! I could have lived with only that scene and been happy.
The Wong Prince Charming will definitely go as a top read for 2019, and my second favorite Holly Renee book. ( I love Jase and Sophie too much to knock them down).
5 stars for Holly Renee and The Wrong Prince! This is a must read for everyone!
I went into this book blind. I saw the author had a new book coming, and I wanted to read it. It quickly became evident there was going to be a bit of a love triangle. I rubbed my hands together, a little excited for it. However, I was a little apprehensive because love triangles are tricky and not always written well.
The book started out okay. We are introduced to the cast quite quickly. But then, the rest of the book felt like a rush. I couldn’t connect to the characters, and I didn’t feel any real connections with them. It was hard for me to jump on board and pick a person.
If I am being absolutely honest… while reading this book, I felt a couple of small deja vu moments. There are some aspects of this book that felt like a mixture of two older love triangle books from back in the day. The difference is, those books were longer and gave you a better all over connection. This felt too close to other books for me. It wasn’t original and didn’t stand out to me.
Overall, I wouldn’t say this was a bad book. It is a decent story but too under-developed for such a story it is meant to be. I would say it’s just okay.
This book had all these feelings running through me. I’ve enjoyed books by this author before so I knew I’d like this book. I’m not a fan of triangles so the fact that the blurb says she’s in love with two boys had me a bit worried. In case you’re like me I’ll just say that it’s really not a triangle at all and that you should give this book a chance. Maddison and Theo have been best friends for years. They’ve made all these plans. Plans that actually weren’t what Maddison wanted but what she willingly went with. Then one run in outside of a bathroom in Theo’s fraternity changes all of those plans. In enters Easton. From the moment we meet him I know I’m gonna love him. Especially when he apologizes for initially being an a***ole and then when we starts talking about their non-existent children. He just had this way of making me love him. I liked Maddison also, but I definitely liked her more when she was around Easton and not Theo. She didn’t have a backbone and just let her family and Theo walk all over her. Easton helped give her the strength that she needed to step up and follow her own dreams. I’m glad Maddison finally made the decisions that she did. I’m glad she choose “me” over both of them. I like the way this story ended and would love more from these two. They’ve found a way into my heart and into my forever book folder. Like I said, give this book a chance you won’t regret it. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
4.5 stars
Maddy and Theo have been best friends for years and Maddy has had a secret crush on him for just as long. These two have been there for one another for years, so it’s only natural when Maddy follows Theo to college. Maddy knows if Theo knows her true feelings it could change things between them and just as she’s weighing up wether it’s worth the risk, Theo’s frat brother Easton makes quite the impression on her. The more time Maddy and Easton spend together, the more Maddy falls. Of course this is the time that Theo suddenly starts to pay more attention to her and she finds herself torn between two men. Who’s the man for her? The best friend that’s been there for her through thick and thin or the hot sexy frat guy who also happens to be her TA?
I’m a huge fan of this author, I’ve read all her books and went into The Wrong Prince Charming with high hopes based on the previous books of hers that I’ve read. I loved this book and I didn’t want this book to end.
This story captivated my attention from the start. I am not typically into this type of story but I am glad I gave it a chance. While I did get frustrated at parts because of Maddison’s behavior, I realized it comes with age and it fit the overall story. There was a lot of angst, hurt and anger throughout between Maddison, Easton and Theo. Terrific story and recommended for those who love young adult romances mixed with drama and some angst.
Holly Renee never ceases to amaze me with her poetically beautiful storytelling ability and my heart will never be the same after devouring Easton and Maddy’s addictively captivating story. I absolutely adored everything about this phenomenal story and the moment these two met, there were sparks flying in every direction. The sizzling chemistry between them set my heart on fire and it burnt deep inside my chest until I reached the very end!
The Wrong Prince Charming might just happen to be MR. RIGHT, if only you are willing to look a little deeper. The second Maddy bumped into Easton I felt deep in my chest that they were destined to be together, if only obstacles would quit standing in their way. This story brought on all the angst and holy moly there were a sh*t ton of swoon worthy and sexy moments that pulled on all of my heartstrings. Who knew you could experience so many feelings all at once?!
Seriously I cannot freaking wait to see what Holly Renee comes up with next because I totally need to get my hands on more of her books…hopefully with more of these amazing secondary characters!
I always enjoy Holly Renee’s books. This one started out strong for me, but toward the 3/4 mark I started getting a little annoyed with the MC’s immaturity. I guess when you consider that Maddison, the main character, is only 18 it makes it OK. Maddison is starting her first semester of college with her best friend Theo, who she has been in love with for years. She also meets Easton, who is older, and who immediately makes her question her feelings for Theo. Love triangles are appealing to me and this one was no exception. All in all, another great read that I couldn’t stop reading.
4 Cranky Star
Maddison did everything that was expected of her by her parents. She’s going to the college they went to and her best friend Theo wanted her to go so that she was with him. She had fallen for Theo a few years back but didn’t want to spoil their friendship so she never let her feelings known. She was majoring in the subject her father wanted her to and then the idea is for her to work for his company. Deep down she wanted to be a photojournalist, but when she suggested this her father said he would cut her off and not pay for her education. She actually got a full scholarship in New York for it but turned it down. Too scared of not being able to cope on her own.
She arrived early at the college and went to Theo’s frat house where there was a party going on she caught up with Theo playing beer pong. She stayed the night with him as she had done often before. In the morning she went to the bathroom and literally bumped into Easton.
From here on things start hotting up for Maddison and her life changes.
This is a very easy read, a lovely book for holidays. A little predictable but I still enjoyed it. Written well and not too many characters so you don’t get lost!!
I so desperately wanted to sit and read this in one sitting but you know, life gets in the way. Lol. This story is so addicting. It started off one way where you inevitably think that, that is what is going to happen. But nope you get smacked in the face with Easton Cole. And Easton Cole is everything, insanely hot, smart, and charming. I was dying to know what would happen. Who would Maddy choose? Theo, her best friend and first love. Or, Easton, who she just happened to run into but feels something for and she can’t explain it. It was a delicious, angst filled, sweet journey. I enjoyed every second of it.
5 addictive stars!!!!
Holly has done it again another well deserved 5 star read.
Right from the start this book has you on the edge of your seat wondering which direction her heart will lead , full of angst this love triangle will keep you on your toes and your heart will be pulled in both directions…….. the best friend or the bad boy who makes you feel !!
Easton will steel your heart and run away with it, the chemistry and banter between them is fantastic and just the right amount of sweet and bad boy sexyness that all perfect book boyfriends need !!
This book is absolutely fantastic but then ive loved all of holly’s words cant wait for more in the future.
I love a good NA novel. I’ve previously read a couple Holly Renee books, so I was super anxious for this story. The Wrong Prince Charming has multiple facets to its storyline–showcasing a fun and playful aspect along with emotional, personal growth where a young woman is challenged with what is expected of her and who she really wants to be.
Maddy is a first-year college student, having just arrived at the same school as her best friend (whom she’s in love with), Theo. Along with controlling parents, it seems like her life is already planned out for her. That is until Easton enters the picture. Now, Maddy is torn between Theo, who she’s clearly stuck in the friend-zone with, and Easton, her gorgeous and completely off-limits TA. But when Maddy and Easton start spending time together working on a class project, will Maddy bend and conform to a pre-planned future she has no control over?…Or will she decide to take a chance on a life she’s only ever dreamed of?
I really, really liked this book. The conflicting and emotional struggles between Maddy and Easton were what I most enjoyed in the story. The flirtatious banter and angst-fueled sexual tension solidified my love for these two characters. But as much as these two shined throughout the story, I felt like we didn’t really get to know Theo. We know him as Maddy’s best friend and a football star, but who is he really? After reading the story, I can’t help but be left with a bad taste in my mouth with how he inevitably treats Maddy at the end of the book, and what he really thought of their friendship. I found his ‘wants his cake and eat it too’ attitude to be completely unattractive, and I’m a little disappointed that it was my last impression of him. He could have redeemed himself, but at that point in the book, it was too little too late.
Overall, The Wrong Prince Charming is a quick and satisfying read. The writing was top-notch and displays true empowerment when a young woman takes control of her own life and chooses “ME” over anyone else.
OMG HOLLY!!!!
This story is amazing it’s full of anger and angst and emotion..so much emotion it had me on the edge of my seat, I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want to.
Every girl dreams of having a best friend, someone to be there through everything, the highs and lows of time, but sometime a very sexy spanner gets jammed in somewhere along the way and throws your life into total chaos
The way that holly writes is amazing the intricate way the characters pull out every single emotion left me gasping for breath.
Amazing!!!
