Every little girl dreams of being swept off her feet by a charming Prince. But my life was no fairy tale. And in this kingdom called college, the rules went out the window. I’d known golden boy, Theo Hunt, was the one for me since we were kids. My heart was his for the taking, but I had become nothing more than the MVP of the campus king’s friend-zone. Easton Cole was a storm I couldn’t have … Cole was a storm I couldn’t have predicted. He knocked me off my feet and stole my heart. But he was off limits. Not only was he was Theo’s frat brother, but he was the teacher’s assistant in English 101 and I was acing every test.
My heart was torn, my feelings tangled.
Because as soon as I noticed Easton, Theo finally noticed me.
I was in love with two guys, as different as night and day, but I could only have one.
I only hoped I didn’t choose The Wrong Prince Charming.

My first thought when I read the blurb was, is this going to be menage? A love triangle? Well, I’m not gonna answer because I want you to find out for yourself the beauty, angst, and drama of this book.
The Wrong Prince Charming hooked me with its blurb and my, that cover. The book lived up to my expectations. The development of Maddy and Easton’s relationship was realistic. It has the delicious forbidden element that I’ve been gobbling up lately. And let’s not forget the hot, hunky bestfriend, Theo. His relationship with Maddy is frustrating AF coz dude, friend zone! Since it is told on Maddy’s POV only, we only have her reason for not crossing the line of friendship. Best friends since their childhood days, so I get that Maddy is a bit hesitant and the fear that she might lose his friendship should they take things far.
I love Easton’s character because he gave Maddy the inspiration to pursue her dreams. While Theo is a wonderful best friend to her but has his own reasons and plans that involves a future with Maddy. For real, I wouldn’t want to be in Maddy’s position. Again. I’ve been in this almost the same situation and it really sucks. It is hard to feel something to your bestfriend and not act on it, and then fall for another guy at the same time. Who would you choose? Should you wait for the bestfriend to love you back or go ahead and be happy with another guy you’re falling already?
As my first ever read from this author, I’ve enjoyed reading The Wrong Prince Charming and it is aptly titled. I’m pretty sure some of us, myself included, would be able to relate in a way to this story. It is something that is inevitable, a part of life, and the reason I’ve connected with this book. Loved it and I will look forward to reading another work from this author.

“Here’s the thing about cotton candy.”
He leaned toward me and held a small piece out to me. I instantly opened my mouth, and he ran the fluffy candy along my lips as he spoke.
“All it needs is your tongue.”
———
I will never think of cotton candy the same way now after reading this book….mmmkay?
4.5 stars on this amazing read.
The Wrong Prince Charming brought out, yep, you bet…my wrong theories. It went in a totally different direction than what I thought was going to play out….I went from, “oh, nuh-uh!” to, “really?!”….I FLOVED it! It was so worth the wait to read this!
Sexy, steamy, spicy, and definitely a bit smutty! I had so much fun reading this one, to the point that I read it from start to finish in one sitting! The author even had me guessing at one point which direction this love triangle would go, and normally I have 100% confidence in that very early in the book. I’m just glad it did end the way I wanted it to!
Book 38 towards my new goal of 245! 5/5 stars for this steamy new adult romance read! Forbidden romance trope anyone? Yes please! This one is spicy for sure! Narration was great as well. Highly recommend if you’re needing a quick romance read!
God this book made me so mad! Every main character made some terrible decisions! I couldn’t put it down and kept hoping they would all pull their head out of their a**es. So glad to see Maddy finally stop trying to live for everyone else and what she needed to. And Easton is such a good guy who got caught up in some nonsense. Omg the steam in this book, the sexy moments were ! I can’t wait to see what Holly has in store for us in book 2.
4.5 stars
Madison and Theo have been best friends for years. Their futures mapped out. But when she finally joins Theo at college, she meets Easton and she quickly finds herself torn between the two. I loved every minute of this story. The ONLY thing that bummed me out a bit was the epilogue. I really wanted to see Madison and her Prince Charming a bit further down the road. Pick this one up!!!
During this time of the Convid19 crisis I found it hard to connect to any of the books I’ve read, so I thought I should go to one of my favorite authors and see what I haven’t read… saw this book and ,as always, with her books, Holly captured me right on the first page…
Maddison ‘Maddy’ Duncan , the good girl, the rule follower, the ‘my life is planned out for me’ chick, has been in love with her best friend Theo for as long as she could remember. And the book begins when she finally gets to be on her own and attend Georgia U and be close to Theo.
“But the plan we had been making for the past five years was finally happening. One freshman, one sophomore, and one stupid pact.”
Theo, at first I thought, he is it! The prince charming. But something about him didn’t feel right. Yes, he is Maddy’s best friend, but boy was he blind.
And then there’s Easton Cole. Even his name is HOT and from the moment they meet at the frat house you could feel their connection unfold. Problem is that Easton is Maddy’s English TA and kind of off limits. But Holly made it impossible for them to be apart.
“How will we explain to our children that we became enemies before we figured out that we were actually in love?”
Yes, there’s the usual drama, which I won’t divulge in, it is college after all. But! I loved it!
“It wasn’t gentle or teasing. It felt like a storm. The wild chaos of lightning and wind and rain pounding down against me, and just for a second there was a silence, just before the thunder hit”
The only issue I had was one scene which I wanted to see a fight, sparks fly and feelings come out, and in exchange I got a hot as f*CK scene which felt a bit forced and not connected to the plot or characters
Holly Renee knows what she’s doing when writing a book… and this one is no different.
This book got from me all because of the college yumminess I received during this hard times.
”I didn’t want his control.”
“I wanted his chaos.”
”I wanted him wild.”
The Wrong Prince Charming by Holly Renee brings all of the banter and the swooning.
I went in blind, after several friends had told me this book was a must read, so I had no idea what trope I was going to get.
Easton flipping Cole…. Gahhhhh that guy.
I want him.
I want his smile.
I want to wear his cap.
I want every single delicious inch of him.
Holly Renee created the perfect swoony hero and Easton has secured his spot on my book boyfriend list forever.
Maddison’s best friend, Theo has always had her heart. But things change when she gets to college and meets his frat brother Easton. I won’t spoil the book for any of you but I will tell you this is an off limits romance which means lots of angst.
My favourite book of Holly Renee’s so far!
“How will we explain to our children that we became enemies before we figured out that we were actually in love?” “It would be heartbreaking especially, if they found out you were really never my type.” His smile was devastating as it lit up his face –devastatingly handsome, devastatingly treacherous. “We can change that.”
I have to start this review by saying I read this book in one night I just couldn’t put it down. I swooned hard for Easton it’s impossible not to. He can totally be my wrong prince charming.
So Maddison Duncan is starting college and is going to the same college as her long time best friend Theo Hunt. She has had a crush on Theo since they were twelve years old. Theo is a frat boy/football player he is caring and sweet when it comes to Maddison. Then there is Easton Cole whose pretty straightforward and man oh man is he swoon worthy. After a run in with Easton on the first night staying over at the frat house with Theo, Maddison soon has him on her mind instead of just Theo. Lucky for Maddison she ends up seeing Easton a lot more when she finds out not only is he her TA in her English and literature class but also ends up being her partner. Easton really makes Maddison think about the things she really wants to do instead of following Theo or what her parents want for her.
This book was a quick read for me and got me hot and bothered.lol There was one part I didn’t personally like and it kind of made me feel a little different about Easton being good for Maddison. Other then that I loved this story and would definitely recommend it especially if your looking for your next book boyfriend.
5 Deliciously Angsty Stars!
HOLY SMOKES! This is my first Holly Renee book and I’m here to tell you, it most definitely won’t be my last. The Wrong Prince Charming is jam-packed with emotion, angst, steamy hot sex, hilarious banter and swoon worthy moments. This New Adult Romance certainly checked off all of my marks, and has me running to one-click more of her work.
Maddison has been best friends with Theo (whom she’s in love with) since they were kids. Now a freshmen and at the same college, this is the perfect chance to make her feelings known. The only problem? She’s clearly stuck in the friend zone and needs a little push to take that plunge. And to complicate things more, she then meets Easton who’s both gorgeous and sweet, but also forbidden as he’s her TA. What’s a girl to do?
The Wrong Prince Charming is a wonderfully crafted story that definitely brings out all of the feels. I loved each and every swoon worthy, heart fluttering, heartbreaking, painful and devastating moment. In the end, I was left with the happiest of tears and the fullest of hearts. Please do yourself a favor, and READ THIS BOOK! I can promise you it’s worth every penny spent.
5 stars for The Wrong Prince Charming by Holly Renee. This is my first book from this author and I absolutely loved it. Maddison has been in love with her best friend Theo for a while. He is a year older than her and Maddison is now joining him at his college even though she was accepted to Columbia. She is expected to study business so she can work at her fathers’ company. Maddison meets this guy Easton at Theo’s frat house. She is instantly attracted to him and likes that he is funny. I absolutely love Easton and how he acts and the things he says the first time he meets her. She soon finds out that he is her TA in her English class. Soon these two are in a forbidden a relationship but then Theo decides he wants Maddison. I am not a big fan of Theo, kinda felt like he was a bit of a douche. Maddison can’t decide what to do, even though she can’t really be with Easton out in the open. They both really like each other but what can she do and who will she choose. “I’m not looking for a Prince Charming.” “Or maybe you’re looking for the wrong one.” This book has drama, angst, and some romance.
I inhaled this book! Holly Renee kept me guessing through every twist and turn of this angst-filled rollercoaster. My heart raced, my eyes fluttered over the screen of my Kindle trying to read ahead to figure out what was happening. I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait to dig into more from this author. 5 stars!
Wow – I not sure how I was feeling about this love triangle. Theo and Maddy have been best friends forever. Now they are at the same college after a year apart while she finished high school. He’s in a frat and on the UGA football team. While spending the night at the frat with Theo (as friends only) she runs into Easton, another frat brother. From their first encounter you knew these two have something. Soon she learns Easton is her TA and partner for an assignment. The more they are together the more the sparks fly. He brings out her true self. Throughout this story I was torn and my heart ached for Maddie. She has loved Theo her whole life and when he makes a move she has decisions to make. Holly does a great job with these characters and has you guessing about who you can trust and who Maddie will chose.
4.5 stars and definitely one of my favourite reads this year
”Easton may not have been my Prince Charming, but he was everything I needed.”
This was my second book by Holly Renee and I’m absolutely in love with it. I hadn’t have this love-triangle angst level since Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields.
My heart was constantly at war with whom Maddison should end up with in the end. The author did a fantastic job showing Maddison’s feelings for Theo and Easton and fighting her emotions, finding the way to her one true love.
And even though my heart was torn, deep down it always knew who to choose.
”I was in love with two different men. And I could only have one.”
Easton Cole made a great entrance at my hearts door with no intention to leave. He’s almost too good to be true. Easton is one of the most swoonworthy bookboyfriends ever.
And I loved how Maddison developed through her story. It’s like Easton made her see clearly for the first time in a very long time and she finally grew some backbone to go for what she really wanted.
However, I don’t think my poor heart could have handled any more drama, I think this book was cut short and some parts could have been worth to explore a little deeper. Let them mature a little more.
”I knew without a doubt that I may not have been the guy Maddison had always dreamed about, but I would always be everthing she needed.”
The Wrong Prince Charming is an angsty and entertaining love triangle that will stop your heart and restart it at the same time.
Maddison thought she was ready to join her Prince Charming at college. Best Friends for years, all she needs is for Theo to see her as more. But, what happens when it isn’t Theo that finally sees Maddison for who she really is and not what others want her to be?
Noticed by the “wrong” guy, Maddison finds herself torn between her love and loyalty for her bestie and the passion and excitement for Easton, the guy that swept in and knocked her off her feet. And, now that Easton’s interested, Theo is ready to make his claim as more than friends.
Faced with a choice that will rip her heart in two, Maddison is left hoping she doesn’t choose The Wrong Prince Charming.
I loved this book and I adored Maddison! She’s the girl that lives to please everyone except herself. She at the college her parents went to and BFF goes too and in a major chosen by her parents so she can work at the family company. Her life is all planned out . . . except, it’s not the life she really wants. Yet, she doesn’t know how to go against the grain.
Easton is the first person to really ask Maddison what she wants out of life and what makes her happy. He’s enamored with her, but he’s also her teaching assistant making making their romance taboo. I absolutely love them together! Easton is the first person to push Maddison out of her comfort zone and made her want more for herself than the planned out life she was willing to lead.
I also understood her love of Theo as her best friend, however. She’s loved him for so long and he’s been such a permanent fixture in her life that she’s torn between needing him as a friend and trying for something more that may ruin what they have. He’s not a bad guy, however, but he is a bit oblivious and just as blindly led into “the plan” as she is at times.
What I enjoyed most, however, is Maddison’s journey of self growth. She realizes that she needs to choose herself before choosing the guy, which makes for a phenomenal story and a bit of suspense to who the “right” guy really is for her.
5 Stars for The Wrong Prince Charming!
5 Double Edged Stars!!!
I’m bowing down to Holly Renee with her latest release. I was hooked from the blurb and mad when I finished bc I didn’t want it to end.
Maddy is starting college. She had her own plan on where she wanted to go and what she wanted to major in. Except her parents let her know she’ll be cut off if that’s what she wants.
There’s only one bright spot about her going to this college. Her best friend Theo. Theo definitely friend zoned her and she hates it bc she’s in love with him. They tell each other everything. He’s there to support her when her parents get on her and Maddy is there for him when his dad drinks. As long as she has Theo she knows she can deal with anything.
The first night Maddy sleeps over at Theo’s since he lives in the frat house. When Maddy runs into a brick wall AKA Easton, Theo’s frat brother everything changed. She instantly felt things she’s never felt in all the years she’s loved Theo. Maddy knew Easton was trouble, she just wasn’t prepared for how much.
When Maddy learns she has to partner up with the TA for her class she can’t see, think or breathe. Easton. Figures. The one guy who makes her feel things she’s never felt before and he’s Theo’s frat brother and her TA. Talk about a double edged sword and that totally makes him off limits.
Too bad the more time she spends with Easton the more blurred the lines are getting between them. Plus she feels she can’t Theo her feelings for Easton. Easton and Maddy have sparks, electricity and amazing chemistry that gets stronger whenever they’re together. Except they can’t cross that line or Easton could loose everything. And, Maddy knows she’d loose both Theo and Easton and she can’t think of a life without them.
Omg I love this book!!! I wasn’t a huge fan of Theo ESP at the end. I just didn’t like how he didn’t want Maddy and yet he didn’t want anybody else to want her. Easton I was in love with from the instant she ran into him. He was such a great guy. Easton really loved Maddy. If he didn’t have so much to loose school wise he definitely would’ve let everybody know she was his.
I can’t wait for the next book Holly Renee releases. I’m gonna need her to hurry up with her writing lol.
Theo has always been Maddy’s Prince Charming, best friend since she was twelve and present for everything important in her life. Theo has a plan her parents have a plan but nobody thinks about or cares what Maddy wants to do with her life. She meets Easton, Theo’s frat brother, and her English class teacher assistant, he has a plan too but encourages Maddy to make her own plan and live it. I really enjoyed this book as it took a young girl who was following a path set out by others and turned her into a young adult thinking and making decisions for her self as she fell in love with the unlikely Prince. Great story with great characters.
A great read from Holly Renee, I couldn’t put it down. It was a beautifully written YA love story from the first chapter. The storyline was realistic, characters were believable and chemistry was through the roof.
She is following her best friend, the boys she has loved forever, to college. She never expected that there could be someone else who made her feel, made her want to do something for herself. That was until the first party.
Maddison, a college freshman and her best friend, Theo, has a plan: go to college, together. Now Maddison is following up on her end of the plan, but she’s not sure what she wants. What does she want? Enter Easton: Theo’s frat brother and Maddison’s TA. Today off limits, but totally irresistible. As Easton and Maddison become closer, and Theo admits that he has feelings for Maddison, Maddison realizes that she needs to do what she wants and not what everyone wants her to do.
This book sucked me in immediately with a good story and tons of chemistry and sizzle. I couldn’t put it down. This was the first Holly Renee Book I read, but I’ve already added more to my library.
