This is a great runaway bride and single dad story. Ethan and Nicole are both great characters. Nicole is a lovely woman, caring, fragile, and resilient. Ethan is handsome, understanding, and caring. His past is heartbreaking. His daughter, Lilly, is so cute! This story has a great cast of characters. They have an important part in this story, and I can’t wait to know more about them. Ethan’s mother, Kathleen, is a beautiful and strong character, supportive and caring. Veronica, Nicole’s twin sister is selfish, unlikable, and self centered. I love the family spirit in the Jackson Family (Ethan’s family). I like how the author writes about depression with compassion, and knowledge, without judgement. I love the ending. Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne did an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the other books in this Series.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. I loved the story, the characters, the way it was beautifully written, everything about this book. I read it in one day (thank you snow day!) and would have been really upset if I had to put it down. The story just sucked me in! It was wonderful to see such a tragic situation turn into something wonderful and so full of honest and true feelings. I was sucked right into their world, and it was fantastic! I can’t wait to read the other books in the series!
I loved the characters with all their flaws. I am a sucker for a Happily ever after.
I especially like the fact that Nic forgave Veronica , who I really wanted to hate, because she was family. Even though families are sometimes messed up, you love them anyway.
Wonderful romance!
* AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *
This book touched my heart so much because of my own struggles with depression, but it’s not a sad book, sure it’s some scenes that’s sad but it’s also a book about living a good life despite depression.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues and the chemistry between Nikki and Nathan is sizzling hot from the beginning.
Sweet and intense love scenes.
The characters is developed in to realistic personalities and the author created a world I would love to read more about. All the secondary characters is intriguing and I’m taking on the next book now.
Narrator:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings.

The Wrong Kind of Love
The Boys of Jackson Harbor Book 1
By: Lexi Ryan
Narrated by: Summer Roberts, Tyler Donne
I loved this book, it grabbed my attention right from the start and held straight to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed Lexi Ryan’s wonderful writing style as well as the interesting storylines and characters she created. Her characters are complex and well developed, they are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the female lead, Nicole aka Nic. she is kindhearted, always looking to do the right thing for others even if it was not in her own best interest including taking the job that was intended for her sister. Ethan Jackson is a single dad, he has not been interested in getting into a relationship since his wife died. HIs priority is his daughter Lilly. His mother, Kathleen usually watched Lilly when Ethan, a OBGYN doctor got called out. Needing to go on a trip she hired a live in nanny to watch Lilly, she asked Lilly to fill in for her sister, Veronica and not say anything to Ethan, she had her reasons for this. The night Nicole arrived in town she went to Jackson’s Brews to drink. She catches Ethan eye and there is something about her that attracts her to him. He winds up walking her back to her hotel, had a few intimate moments before he gets called in for work. The next day he is in for a big surprise when he meets the new Nanny hired to help with his daughter. He assumes the worst about her but he tells her she can stay until he finds a replacement. I loved how everything played out, the book was well plotted, the story had a natural flow with plenty of drama, some angst, plenty of heartfelt moments and a slow burn to a wonderful romance. I loved the chemistry between them, also loved how Nic was with Lilly. Have to give a shout out to the girls and the nickname Dr. McBroody, too funny. Awesome secondary characters and family dynamics, can not help but love those Jacksons, I am looking forward to what comes next in this series. Lexi Ryan, thank you for this wonderful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. Also thank you for your heartfelt authors note.
I listened to the Audible edition, Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are terrific narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, they did a great job projecting the characters emotions & attitude into their performance as well as the drama of the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen

Heroine was a total doormat and spineless. After her sister betrays her in the worst way she doesn’t cut her sister out of her life, instead she continues to call her sister. After her employer labels her an “easy screw” and tells her he is replacing her ASAP, she continues to pursue him and accommodates him in every way. I think he is a total bad bet as he keeps everything in the house just like his dead wife left things, including all her clothes in the closet.
loved it
Absolutely beauitiful
Oh my gosh I really loved this book and the Jackson brothers, their sister, their mom, Nicole, Teagan Ethan’s six year old daughter Lilly and all the gossiping residents in the small town of Jackson Harbor.
This story was really special for me because of the subject of depression and all the different feelings and struggles each person with the diagnosis goes through. It doesn’t hit everyone the same way and not everyone gets suicide thoughts or hits the darkness so deep that they can’t find their way out again.
The story is about Nicole who finds out on her wedding day that her twin sister and her fiancé had an affair and she decides to go to Jackson Harbor where her sister was supposed to go. After her first night in town where she hooks up with a stranger she gets convinced to take over her sisters job and identity as nanny for Ethan’s six year old daughter Lilly. She falls in love with both the Lilly and Ethan but is Ethan still in love with his dead wife and is Nicole ready for a new relationship? And will all the lies and mistakes and also family members get in the way of their love?
Ethan is amazingly broody, handsome, sweet, protective, proud and he is beautiful person and a great father.
Nicole is a fantastic person who does everything for everyone else before she thinks of herself. She is very caring and loving and strong. She fights with depression but it doesn’t let it pull her down.
These two people just fits perfectly together.
I will definitely read the other book too.
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book as and ARC for free through Netgally in exchange of an honest review.
This whole series is great. I love getting to know the whole family. I want to hang out with them.
Such a well written book with great continuity. Loved it.
Sighs*
I read a review online that said “the worst part about this book is that it ended” and sadly, I have to say I agree. What a beautiful story. Mrs. Ryan, thank you for writing a book that is real about depression. Thank you for addressing the elephant in the room in a way that was delicate, moving, and necessary.
I’m not sure what I expected when I started reading but what I got was definitely more, definitely much, much better. I read one chapter without reading the summary first because I wanted to get a feel of the book before I committed to it. Needless to say after the first few pages I was hooked. The author’s writing style was refreshing. The story was rich. The characters were real. If you’ve read romance before then you’ve seen lovers held back by their own insecurities but the specificity of the issues that Nic and Ethan dealt with brought them to life. It made them so human. Then there is the fact that in a literary world where the lines around this genre can get fuzzy, this book is a real romance. It is about love. Plain and simple.
Well done. Will definitely be reading from this author again.
Been awhile since I couldn’t put a book down. Fantastic read! Can’t wait to get ahold of more books by Lexi Ryan.
Really good!
Great story that was so hard to put down. Two awesome people with so much baggage and a lovely family to support them. Glad to see depression handled in a mature, open way.
3.75/5
This was the first book of the Boys of Jackson Harbor series and I thought it was an ok story. Nicola runs to Jackson Harbor after she finds out that her sister is pregnant with her fiancé’s baby. Due to mistaken identity she ends up working for Ethan Jackson as his nanny. I loved the push and pull of the characters and the road they have to take while dealing with their issues to get the HEA they both deserve.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
3.5 stars.
This is my first time reading this author. I liked the big family and all of those characters. Ethan wasn’t bad and Nic was certainly something. Girlfriend is really hard on herself and she did have a pretty crappy past. Her twin sister is an ahole and in my own opinion, Nic forgave her way too soon. Besides all that drama, it was an okay read for me.
I love that this is a series. The Jacksons are a tight knit bunch that like to have fun, and I hope all the siblings have their own book. Ethan is dreamy. He’s a single dad and a doctor. Not just a doctor, but he delivers babies. I feel for Nic getting rejected and looking for someone to love her for her…until a case of mistaken identity blows that out of the water. I love that Lilly is the first one to fall in love with Nic.
